Is ti possible to exchange unwanted new ipod...

I got an ipod nano red 8gig for my birthday. It's almost as expensive as an ipod 30gig and I would really prefer the later. Do you reckon or know if it is possible to come to an apple store with the unopended product to exchange it?
Yes I have the ticket and yes I would offer to pay the difference!
Please tell me it is totally possible!!!

Apple don't offer this kind of trade in. They have a recycling program in place that gets you 10% off the price of a new iPod if you hand in your old one at the time of purchase. You can do this (I believe) at any Apple store.
However, you may think that your iPod is worth more than 10% off the cost of a new one, and perhaps want to sell it on eBay instead.
There are sites such as Small Dog Electronics that do have a trade in policy for iPods.

  • Can you exchange a new iPod Touch 4G 32 gb for the new one when it comes out?

I ordered one using points from my credit card, so I want to know if I can I exchange it for the 5 when it comes out??

If you purchased it within the last 14 days you can return it for a full refund and then purchase the 5G. Otherwise Apple will only give you a 10% recycling discount if you turn in an old iPod and purchase a new one.

  • Is it possible to exchange a 16gb iPod for 32 gb iPod? (I don't mind paying the excess fee.)

I bought a 16gb iPod 5th gen. But after going home, I found out that it doesn't have a camera. Is it possible to return it and get a 32 gb iPod? I don't mind paying the excess fee.

If you purchased it from an Apple Store in the past 14 days you can return it for a refund then buy the 32GB.

  • Thinking of buying a new iPod, do I have to delete the songs already there?

    Hi
This is probably the completely wrong forum for this question, but I don't know exactly where to put it.
The thing is, I have an iPod mini (green) with 4 GB, which now is full and I am thinking of buying a 60 GB one. Last year I got a laptop, and when I was to connect my iPod to it, I had to delete all the music from the library in the stationary computer in order to install iTunes on the laptop. I tried to plug in the iPod to the laptop, but it only said that "This iPod unit belongs to another music library. Do you want to delete all content in order to download the new songs?" or something similar. This meant that I lost about 1200 songs, and pretty much had to start all over again.
Now that I'm thinking of buying a new iPod, I am wondering if anyone could answer me if I'll have to do the same thing as I did when I got the laptop. Does a new iPod belong to another music library, and can't just be set up with the one I've already got?
I'd really apriciate some help here, especially if someone have been in the same situation. It has to be possible to get a new iPod without having to delete all the songs you've saved in iTunes.
    Thanks

If an iPod is set to update automatically it will be associated with a particular library. If you connect that iPod to a different computer or a different library on the same computer you get the the message you are referring to. "The iPod "iPod Name"is linked to another another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this library". To use an iPod on multiple computers you change the update method to "manually manage songs and playlists". You can also use multiple iPods on a single computer so you will be able to connect both of your iPods to your existing iTunes. Connect the new iPod and follow the on screen instructions, iTunes will open and update your iPod.
    For info:
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

  • Using original power adaptor with new iPod Nano

    Hi all,
I was wondering whether it's possible to use my new iPod Nano (3rd Gen) with the old USB Apple power adaptor from my first generation iPod Nano.
    Thanks in advance,
    Stu

Does this hold true for old FireWire power adapters for old iPods as well? I have an iPod Nano (3Gen), along with the USB cable that was included when purchased, but no power adapter was included. I'd really like to use an old FireWire cable and adapter from an older iPod model with this new Nano, so I can charge it when I'm away from my computer. (more importantly, I don't want to have to go and buy ANOTHER power adapter with a USB connection...)

  • New iPod, uncentered Click wheel

Has anyone tried to exchange a new ipod that has a badly uncentered click wheel? No dead pixels though.

Take it back and exchange it.

  • I got an ipod 5 for christmas but i want a new color is it possible to exchange and will i need a receipt

so I got an ipod 5 for Christmas but my dad said they had no blue so I wanted to exchange it to a blue one is it possible and will I need a receipt and if I have to pay extra I will. by the way my ipod has a black screen silver back and no back camera

Since you have the iPod touch 5th Generation 16GB 2013 Model, you cannot exchange it. Last week, they discontinued the iPod touch 5G 16GB (2013 Model) and now they have a back camera and colors. You cannot trade now unless you purchased it under 2 weeks ago and like lllaass said, you can get 10% off a new iPod touch 5G 16GB which would be $20 off and it would cost $179 with tax. Hope it helps!

  • I have an ipod nano 8gb which is full, my husband is a jazz fan, I am thinking of buying another ipod classic 160gb - is it possible to link this to the same library in itunes and just put all his jazz on the new ipod?

I have an ipod nono 8gb which is about 5 years old and is full - my husband is a jazz fan, and now I have  jazz on my little ipod and my ipod touch. I am thinking of getting an ipod classic 160gb and putting all his jazz on to it. Is it possible for me to link it to my Itunes library and his Itunes library and just put all the jazz on to the new Ipod classic? if so, how do I then delete the jazz of the other two ipods?

There is no limit to the number of iPods you can sync to one computer, iTunes library, or account.
You might want to create a seperate iTunes library for him, perhaps on another user account on the system and move all of his Jazz music over to that new library.  Once you have all of his music moved over to his own library, remove it from your own and then resync both of your iPods to clear his music off.  This is just one way to do it.
If that was a bit confusing, take a look at this article for a few ways to manage multiple iPods with one computer.

  • Is it possible to download just one playlist onto my husbands new ipod nano

Is it possible to download just one playlist onto my husbands new ipod nano (16gb) from my Macbook pro version 10.6.8.  and is so how?

    Hello sylviafromkendal,
With an iPod, you are able to sync music from multiple iTunes libraries to the device.  If the iPod is configured to manually manage the content, then please follow the directions in the first article below.  If that is not the case, then you will need to enable the manually manage music and videos option is turned on.

  • I own an iPod Touch 4g. Now i'm planning to buy iPod Touch 5g. Is it possible for me to register the new one with existing Apple ID so that i can transfer the apps from my existing account to my new Ipod 5g?

I own an iPod Touch 4g. Now i'm planning to buy iPod Touch 5g. Is it possible for me to register the new iPod with existing Apple ID so that i can transfer the apps from my existing account to my new Ipod 5g?

There should definitely be no issue. You can register more than one Apple device with the same Apple ID and get the same apps on both devices without having to pay for the apps again.
Alternatively, if you want all your settings to say the same, do a backup of your old iPod Touch and then whe you receive the new iPod, restore the backup on it and it'll save you the trouble from having to redownload everything.
    Cheers.
