Is TM in Snow Leopard Compatible Excel 2004?

I had a problem upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard this weekend that required me to execute PRAM. Now that I have got it done I can't preview Excel files in Time Machine. I can preview .pdf files and I can restore Excel files but when I click on an Excel file I have spinning icon and words "loading preview". After a few minutes of this I give up and cancel.
I am running OSX 10.6.8 and Excel 2004 for Mac Version 11.5.3.
After all the problems I had loading Snow Leopard and not anxcious to restore back to OSX 10.5.8.
Is it executing PRAM or I need to upgrade my MS Office suite?
Any ideas?

Except for the educational fall 2011 release iMac, all iMacs should be able to at minimum get a late version of 10.6 iMac installer to work to install 10.6 on them.  Apple has not released a general iMac as a new or refresh model since before Lion's introduction.  Until they do, in all likelihood the above statement will remain true.  Call AppleCare and ask for the last system specific 10.6 installer for the model iMac (based on screen size) you have. • Does Apple have a web download of Snow-Leopard compatible QuickTIme 7?

I installed Snow LEopard onto my MacBook Pro 15" on Friday at work. I left the Snow Leopard install disc there, and now at home I realize I did not install QuickTime 7 and I need this to be able to work proficiently in FCP.
I keep reading that you can download QuickTime 7 at Apple bit every time I try and install after download it says that it is not compatible with this OS.
Does Apple have a Snow Leopard compatible version of QuickTime 7 available as a download? Or am I screwed and have to wait until Tuesday to get to wotk and install from the disc? Why does it have to be so difficult?
    Dan

There's also an installer on the "Utilities" or "additional components" installer on the Snow Leopard disc.

  • Snow Leopard compatible printers/scanners

Here's a great Apple support document that lists Snow Leopard compatible printers and scanners. Of course it's the drivers that need to be Snow Leopard compatible, not the printers themselves.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669

Not having any luck here with the UFRII drivers on the Canon Australia website here to install the IRC4058i printer in my office (btw the download url is http://www.service.canon.com.au/drivers/files/ir/osxufr2v200.zip). After uninstalling the old version and installing the new one, I can only install Canon ipv6 UFRII and not Canon ip UFRII, which is what I need. Hopefully an update will be released soon!

  • Snow leopard and office 2004

I currently use office 2004 because I make use of the ability to create macros that Microsoft removed in Office 2008. I am wondering if Snow leopard will be compatible with office 2004?

Also, here are the 10.6 Snow Leopard forums.

  • Is snow leopard compatible with microsoft office and with quicken 2007?

Is snow leopard 10.6.3 compatible with Microsoft office and with quicken 2007.  I am about to upgrade to snow leopard and wanted to see if there are any problems with interfacing with non apple applications.  Any help is appreciated.

Yes. Snow Leopard includes Rosetta, which will allow Office 2004 and Quicken 2007 to run. Office 2008 and 2011 are Intel native and will also run under SL.

  • In need of a Snow Leopard compatible version of Aperture via AppStore

    Hi there!!
A few months ago I bought Aperture 3 via AppStore using Snow Leopard.
Last week I formatted my iMac and installed everything again.
The process was smooth as I imagined, except for the fact that I wasn't able to download Aperture from the AppStore again as the current version doesn't seem to be compatible with my operating system...
...how can I download and use an older version of Aperture compatible with Snow Leopard?
I read somewhere that if I download the correct version from the website I won't be able to use it as I bought it via AppStore, while the downloadable version seems to need a code of some kind that is only given while buying the program throught the website (and NOT the AppStore...)!!
    ...H E L P  M E please!! =(
    Thanks for your support!! =)

You should be asking the producer.

  • Is snow leopard compatible with ipad mini?

Hello I need to know if snow leapard is compatible with the ipad mini

In that case, I suppose that you were asking if you can sync your device. The iPad mini requires iTunes 10.7 or later, version that Snow Leopard supports, so you can sync the iPad. Open  > Software Update, and install the most recent version. Also, make sure you are running iTunes 10.7 or the most recent iTunes 11

  • Snow Leopard compatible?

I worked on an iMovie 09 project yesterday and upgraded to 10.6 last night. Today, I launch iMovie and get the warning: "Quartz Extreme required. iMovie requires a graphics card that is compatible with Quartz Extreme. One or more of your graphics cards does not support Quartz Extreme." Anyone else have this issue?

There was a similar issue with Leopard, so here is a solution worth trying, although I don't know for sure that it will work with Snow Leopard:
    Open System Preferences/Displays
Change Resolution to some different resolution.
Change the Color Profile to some other Profile.
Then change both back to the settings you prefer.
Then open iMovie and see if it helped.
Also, is there anything unusual about your setup such as a second or third monitor?

  • Own OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. MSOffice 2004 was taken out because of computer repair and now can't find disc to reinstall. But WANT the Office 2004, not Office 2011. Where can I find one and are all Officew 2004 the same

I own a OSX 10.6.8. IMAC with Snow Leopard. my MSWORD Office 2004 was taken off when computer was repaired and now can't find the disc to reinstall. Do not want the Office2011.. Where do I find the Office 2004 and are all Office 2004 choices the smae.

Hi Martha - Amazon offers office 2004 on their website.
    http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Office-2004-Standard-VERSION/dp/B0001WN0M2
That will be your best bet if you want to have office 2004 on your computer. Also, there are some different versions want to come to office. The link above gives you the standard version, but there's also the professional version. Now it sounds like that you do not want to upgrade to the latest office because you're most likely comfortable with how 2004 works. So in that case I would not spend the extra money and pay for the professional version unless you really need it. I see on the website there that if you buy a used copy it will only cost you around $10.
    Hope this helps!

  • Is Freehand MX11.02 10.6 Snow Leopard compatible?

I am currently working on Mac Pro 2x2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon. System Version ist 10.5.7.
Except the well known bugs including fonts, guides and PDF-writing everything works out fine.
Yesterday i installed Leopard Beta Build 10A354 including Rosetta. Freehand Icon starts to bounce but program doesn't start up. When trying to shut down I learned, that Freehand process was running and preventing restart. Had to kill it manually.
I want to mark up, that Freehand behavoir changed since Build 261, where it generated revolving error messages for about one minute. Does anyone know, if that will change untill Snow Leopard release?

    BAD NEWS!!!
    FREEHAND DOESN'T RUN!
Ricardo - i don't know why it works on your mac - but it's not regular.
I can't believe it. Perhaps something in your system is "wrong"??!?!?
    What i did:
I did a fresh install of SnowLeo 380 - the newest build.
    Then i installed Freehand 11.0.2
Then i did the FIX in the link above.
Nothing hapens.... Freehand bounces - then it crashed.
    O.K. - booting in "Shift-Mode".
    Same result.
I tested really everything. Single-User-Mode - normal mode - again single user mode - new install.... and so on, and so on.....
Then i tried another Freehand - the newest from the adobe download page (before it was from my MX 2004 CD).
    Same thing.....
And thats not only my experiance.
2 friends also tested it today on their MacPros..... SAME REULT AS MINE!!!!
    Has anyone an idea???
If Freehand won't run on 10.6 we all will have a big Problem in the Future......
    Any Tips?

  • Is OS X v 10.6 Snow Leopard compatible with the newest xcode?

I am looking to buy my friends mac that has snow leopard on it. I plan on using the computer just for coding on xcode. Does anyone know if it is compatible the newest xcode?
    Thanks

If the Mac is 10.10 compatible, you can setup a separate partition with 10.10 on it, keeping the 10.6.8 partition.  Note other compatibility issues migrating between the two:
