Is true SPDIF Passthrough possible with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty P

I recently installed my X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro sound card and for the life of me I can't find where I can turn on SPDIF passthrough.
I know about the Dolby Digital Li've, and that's not what I want, I want just the simple optical SPDIF passthrough.
I also don't believe the option for Play Stereo Mix using Digital Output is the same either. Not looking for a stereo mix, just passthrough.
Can anyone help me out here?

I have the same card and I was able to figure how to do the real optical SPDIF passthrough in Vista X64.
First unselect the Dolby Digital Li've if you have that option on.
Second, I unchecked the stereo mixing feature in the creative volume panel.
Finally, you have to select the SPDIF Out Device as the default playback device in the windows sound manager (just right click in the windows speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices, NOT in the creative volume panel. There you can check with some tests if the Dolby and DTS sound is passing through the optical SPDIF correctly.
For Dolby Prologic II (PS2 emulator) I had to manually select to decode in that format to work (in my home theater options).
I have tested my method with a DVD Movie and it worked perfectly!, my external receiver detects de Dolby Digital signal from the movie automatically.

I was able to use both back SPDIF outputs with out any cable, you the card in the PCI-E slot, but I have change my card with a X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series, no im not able to use any of those outlets, im used the the Coax to my Home theater and the Toslink to me headphones.
Now I can only use the Toslink of the digital output of the X-Fi with my headphones but im not able to use the ports of the mobo to my home theater, is there a way I can use them? the card doesnt have a Coaxial output and thats the problem.
Also, my mobo has 4 pin SPDIF output port, so you can connect something there, but it seems that there are any cable from the output port of the mobo to the audio card....

  • Trying to use SPDIF BYPASS with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty

I need help guys!! I've bought a Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro PCI-E x a few days ago and everything is working great with the lastest drivers (even DTS Connect, Interacti've, DDL, etc... Everything is fine) but now i want to use the digital input to "bypass" the audio from my SKY HDTV (Home Theater Samsung X-70 digital input, hdmi input and hdmi output) and i've done everything and i can't hear anything... SKY HDTV - > X-FI Titanium Digital Input - > X-Fi Titanium Digital Output -> Samsung HT-X70
I have the SKY HDTV plugged into my Sound card via Toslink Digital Optical cable.
I had done some research online about needing to enable the decoder in the Creative Audio Control Panel, but I have no "Decoder" Tab. Also, there is a tab called SPDIF I/O when I select it, SPDIF input settings are grayed out and in the box is default (pre-selected).
Is there a fix to get a decoder for this sound card, or what should i do?

OK Helsing, let me see if I understand you, If you want to decode DD and DTS, PowerDVD will do the trick, but so will VLCMedia player, etc. If you want to send a pure untouched signal through to your receiver so it can decode it and play it, then that is SPDIF passthrough. That means the signal will go through your system untouched and out to your receiver........and yes there is that setting for it in the SHARK codec package. Shark's package will also use FFDshow or whatever of its components to do the job of which you are speaking.....

Please forgive me my bad laungage. Im writting this Post because i want to ensure i wont have any problem using configuration as i wrote in topic. So, are there any drivers for Windows 7 x64 (PL, Home Premium) for my sound card. Can i also use Creative Alchemy tool on Windows 7 x64. And do i need to use Alchemy on Windows 7, to gain EAX in games too? Can i also download and use PowerDVD with is deli'vered with the drivers? And what with Dolby Digital Li've? Is there a problem with activating and using it on Windows 7? And last question: Can i gain a 5. sound with my Creative Inspire T600 sound system and use it in game, and music listening?without any trouble?
I wish to apologize for that many?questions but this is very important to me. So can i use it all, and can i install it from my X-FI?Titanium?Install CD, or do i have to download it from Creative site?

  • No MediaSource Go! with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series?

I recently picked up a new X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series card; which replaced my older X-Fi Platinum, that sadly stopped working.
Anyway I noticed that, this newer Titanium card came with a newer version of the Creative MediaSource software; called MediaSource 5.
However, it does not include the launching application, MediaSource Go! which is the launcher bar that loads on startup. With my X-Fi Plat, when I hover my mouse over the top edge of my screen the MediaSource Go! launcher bar drops into view and I can just click on the icon of any Creative application that I have on that bar, to launch that application.
    I liked that very much.
So I am curious, why is this not included with the newer MediaSource that comes with the X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro? I would very much love to have it!

@. Re: No MediaSource Go! with X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series? I have a similar issue. I am having a problem with speaker calibration which strated several months ago after updating some Creative files. Today I uninstalled all Creative apps and driver pack and reinstalled the latest versions. Doing this I lost my Mediasource Go! bar. So I downloaded it and when I tried to install it I got a message saying? I did not have the "minimum" version of MediaSource and that it would now quit. However, when I had Go! before I also had Mediasource5; in fact the Start Menu shortcut for Go! (which is now a broken link since Go was removed) showed it was in the Mediasource5 directory. So why won't Mediasource Go! install with Mediasource5 installed? I thought the "minimum" version of Mediasource required for Go! was 3.00.6.

  • 5.1 issues with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty

    Hi folks, how's it going?
I'm having several problems setting up 5. surround sound with my Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro. I'm connecting to my DDTS-00 reciever via an optical cable, and using Dolby Digital Li've or DTS Connect (I get the same results with both technologies).
I can get surround sound working in Halo and Halo 2. However, I have to check the "allow applications to take exclusi've control of this device" box in Control Panel > Sound > SPDIF Out > Advanced tab to get them to work. This causes Windows Media Player to throw up the error "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file" whenever I try to play an mp3. Yet if I uncheck the "exclusi've control" box, I just get stereo sound from my games but WMP works fine.
As an exception, with Gears of War, Trillian, and Windows Vista itself I only get stereo when the box is unchecked, and NO sound when I have the box checked.
So, any ideas what I can possibly do? I'm using all the latest drivers and software versions.

If I were you, I'd run the 5. analog outputs from the soundcard into the DDTS-00. The DDTS-00 has the 6 rca inputs for analog input. That should give you less grief when gaming and listening to music at the same time. That's what I do on mine, everything works good that way and there's no fighting over the SPDIF output. And with analog,?you also have more control over all the application volumes, with SPDIF out, you do not.
Using the SPDIF out?will never provide a perfect medium for concurrent gaming and movie/music listening, at least with Creative's (and others) current implementation.
Use EAX when available for games, and if required use Alchemy?if the game needs it.

  • Poll: Who is having no sound issues with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro?

Several weeks ago I purchased an? X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro. I have the latest drivers/software installed for all of my hardware and am using Windows 7 64-bit ultimate. There is no sound when the computer resumes from Standby or hibernate. I have to disable the driver in the device manager and then re-enable to restore sound. It seems the X-fi driver is not initializing when the computer resumes from these states. Problem does not occur during a normal cold start or restart.
i have an open ticket with creative support and need to find out if others are having the same issue on windows 7. Several folks having the same issue at this link with little to no success at fixing. I don't know if this is a driver thing, an IRC conflict or what. I have no had this issue on the same hardware with any other sound cards I've I had, to include an HT Omega card and the onboard sound; which leaves me convinced it is something with the X-fi card.
Please respond to this posting if you are having the same issue. If you have found a way to fix it, please say so as the creative support folks are still investigating and have asked me to give them more examples.

Just to confirm that deselecting entries in the "headphone detection" tab the creative audio panel seems to provide a temporary (but not an acceptable permanent) solution.
"Automatically mute speakers" provides the workaround but "automatically enable headphone settings" also needs to be deselected otherwise the PC will set to "headphone" on resume (rather than "5:" for example).
So it could be that on resuming from standby it is setting some internal headphone settings to mute the speakers.
I have created a support ticket hoping that this and the other post above might bring about a driver update.
Will keep testing and post any updates.

  • Sound lag with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Seri

    Hello to you all,
I just built a new computer and the problem I have is that sound lags with WMCE in Vista. My video card is ATI 4850 (52mb) and motherboard is 790gx. The internal sound and integrated video are both disabbled. Any suggestions as to fix the sound lag while watching TV on Media Center? I have no problems with music or games with this. Thanks to all.

  • Microphone Trouble with X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Pro

  • Help with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pin Read

Need help looking up the pin readouts on the X-Fi Titanium Fatalty. The manual describes two different Titanium models: SB0880 and SB0886. The former only has connector pins for Intel HD Front Panel audio. The latter does not have these pin connectors but has only proprietary DID_EXT (digital, 2 pins [6 top row, 6 bottom row]) and AND_EXT (analog, 8 pins [0 top row, 8 bottom row]) pin connectors.
Does anyone know where I can find a description of the pin layout of the AND_EXT and DID_EXT connectors? Again, although the Intel connectors are described in detail, these ones are not described at all in the manual. I'm trying to use an internal aux connector from my tv card to the sound card, so I'm trying to see if I can make a custom cable to do this. Otherwise, I'm using an external line out cable for now. The optional I/O dri've does have aux rca inputs on them.

Hard to say, just because the sound is cutting out it may not be the card that is the issue. This could be cause by pretty much anything - drivers, bug apps, other hardware problems etc etc.
If you haven't done a system reset recently, i.e. re-install OS, drivers and programs you could try that to see if the issues remain. Sometimes moving the audio card to another PCIe slot can sometimes help.

  • SPDIF passthrough with Audigy SE and Digital I/O Car

Does anyone have this working or know if its possible with Vista 32bit's?Comparing my pc (built-in soundcard) with my new PC that has the Audigy, it looks like there are some tabs missing in Control Panel in the Playback->Digital Output Device screen, but I'm not sure if thats relevant or not. Maybe its possible to set SPDIF passthrough somewhere else?

Ok, well...can anyone tell me, for certain, which cards work with SPDIF passthrough in Vista? I really need this working, and if I have to buy another card, that would suck, but I need it for my htpc.

  • Trouble with SPDIF Passthrough and the Audig

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 from Dell and am trying to connect it to Logitech Z-680 speakers. I want to use digital surround sound. I found the instructions on how to do this on Logitech's site. However, I have a problem.
Step 2 states to go to Audio HQ, select 'Device Controls' and then select the 'decoder tab'. My Device Controls does not have a 'decoder tab' nor does it have a 'SPDIF Passthrough' option that I can find. Where do I find the SPDIF Passthrough option?
I have updated all of my drivers and Creative software as far as I can tell. In the Device Controls help it states: "Digital Input Settings is available only if you are using the Optical Digital I/O card or Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Dri've." Does this mean my Audigy 2 from Dell does not support optical out?!
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Janefoe,
Since this card is OEM I would suggest contacting Dell at this time. You can then find out from them if this feature was included with this card and if so how to enable or disable SPDIF Passthrough.

  • Is synchronous scenario possible with JDBC & JMS adapter?

Suppose,JDBC adapter is updating a table or deleting some entry from a table. Can we have an acknowledgement back that the work has been done successfully??
same qstn for JMS adapter also..
Suppose JMS adptr is communicating with any messaging system, can we have acknowledgement back?

Jms Adapter supports Asynchronous scenarios only but If u want to use Synchronous then possible with Standard module beans :
For ex: JMS to Rfc synchronous scenario:
    In id:
Sender jms adapter supports Asynchronous scenarios so we have to use standard module beans in Module tab.
    Like :
    AF_Modules/RequestResponseBean -> 0
    CallSapAdapter
    AF_Modules/ResponseOnewayBean -> 1
    And Provide  values in configuration:
    0 -> passThrough -> true
1 -> receiverChannel ->provide RECEIVER JMS adapter name ( have to create one more JMS receiver communication channel for responce )
1 -> receiverService ->provide receiver adapter service name (that is  provide sender business component because need response for sender )

  • Audigy 2 SPDIF Passthrough trou

Well, I've been working on this one for about two days straight and I can't figure it out. When I play any AC3 signal with SPDIF passthrough, the audio skips or is choppy, dropping about 4 times per second. The video is fine.
I have an Audigy 2 Platinum card and Logitech Z680 speakers. I have the optical out of the Audigy's li've dri've connected to the Z680 receiver. I've also tried the coax out to the coax on the Z680 with the same effect. The Z680 recognizes the Dolby Digital signal, and displays that status on it's lcd screen. I've tried playing a dvd through WinDVD and an avi file with AC3 audio using AC3Filter, both with the same effect. I also tried playing a dvd through my PS2 connected to the Z680s with the same optical cable, and the Z680 got the Dolby Digital signal and it played fine.
I tried moving my card to a different PCI slot. I tried uninstalling all Creative software and drivers, reinstalling from the original Audigy2 cd. At this point, I tried to get it to work with the original drivers. I went into AudioHQ and set it to "SPDIF passthrough". Then my speakers didn't get the digital signal, and I didn't have any audio at all. When I switched it back to "Dolby Digital decode", the audio came back, but obivously the speakers didn't get the digital signal. So then I updated my driver to the most recent ones again, and now I have the same problem as before, choppy audio.
The thing that I find odd is that it seems that if I play back the same portion of the video, it seems to be skipping in the same spots, but it is pretty frequent so that might be incorrect. It really sounds like the computer doesn't have the necessary equipment to process the audio, which doesn't make sense because ) it's worked before and 2)I would think that spdif passthrough would actually require less processing, because the signal isn't decoded.
    What should I do?

Woohoo, I've made backward progress. So I uninstalled the card as completely as possible. I took the card out of the machine, uninstalled the drivers and applications, and went through the registry and deleted any and all keys related to the sound card. Then I put the card back in, reinstalled the drivers, and installed the most recent update. Now I've got more than just choppy audio, the receiver constantly drops the signal. Sometimes the sound comes through (for less than a second), and sometimes I just get noise, but most of the time it's silent.
As it is, I've got my onboard digital sound card working fine. It passes the digital signal through to the receiver, which decodes it and plays it perfectly. But the Creative card should work, I spent a lot of money for it to work. This is all really frustrating.

  • X-Fi: cannot get multi-channel sound or SPDIF passthrough

I've owned an X-Fi XtremeMusic since it first came out, and have been running it with a MCE2005 system. I've had it hooked up to a home theater receiver via SPDIF and 5. analog, but have only had stereo speakers until today. So, right now I'm trying to get multi-channel sound to work. I'm using the latest drivers (have also tried the original drivers) and have all Microsoft patches applied.
First, I cannot seem to get it out of stereo mode. Using the analog outputs to the 5. analog input on my receiver and setting the X-Fi to 5. speakers refuses to produce sound from anything except front left/right. I've used the Speaker Connection Wizard, the THX Console, the Speaker & Headphone console... and no matter what speaker icon I click on the sound comes out of the front left or right as if it is downmixing. I've also tried 4.0, 6. and 7. modes - no improvement. Also, multi-channel sound does not work in MCE setup, games, etc.
Quite by accident I discovered that if I enable CMSS I can get *some* sort of sound from the rear speakers, but only in the sense of an effect. Also, with CMSS enabled, when testing the front center I get the word "front" out of the left/right speakers which then fades out before "center". If I test it again I get nothing (except a slight effect from the rear).
Finally, I cannot get the SPDIF passthrough to work (it DOES work just fine passing out stereo 48khz sound). I've enabled SPDIF on the flexi-jack, I've set Dolby Digital and DTS to "external decoder required", and NONE of my applications present me with an option to use the SPDIF. This includes MCE, VLC and the latest version of CyberLink PowerDVD. Basically it seems that they can't see that there is a SPDIF on the system to use.
Anyone else experienced this? I've spent 5 hours testing everything I can think of and trying different combinations of settings and I am completely at a loss!

Well, I guess I'll answer my own problem in the hopes that it might help someone else.
It seems that hour 8 of frustrated troubleshooting turned up the cure: all of this boils down to Logitech's stupid Quickcam Fusion drivers. With Logitech's "AEC" echo cancellation mode enabled for the built-in microphone, their drivers automatically turn audio acceleration down to second from the bottom. This results in the X-Fi performing nearly no hardware processing (later testing with DXDiag also said I had no hardware buffer). This results in no multi-channel audio, and no SPDIF passthrough.
There are a couple of solutions...
) Disable "AEC" mode from the Logitech Quickcam control panel applet's Audio tab (and reboot). This worked for me.
    2) If this doesn't work, go into the Device Manager and disable the Quickcam's microphone (and reboot). This worked for me, but then I tried # which also worked and still let me use the microphone.
    3) Logitech's site (which mentions this problem/solution but only in the context of it causing BSOD crashes, not with it messing up multi-channel sound cards) mentions renaming one of their Audio directories to disable the microphone, although I don't see why this would be better than #2 (see http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/...p?p_faqid=4066 for more).
    4) Unplug the camera.
So, I'm back in business - or rather, I'm only NOW in business!
Interesting that the Creative diagnostics utility turned up anything amiss. It claimed that everything was hunky dory, when the card was obviously in a mode where it could not possibly work correctly.
