Is Using the COM API for Integration still valid for UCM 11g?

Dear All,
One of our partners is trying to implement integration to UCM by using the COM API (described http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/doc.1111/e10807/c08_com.htm#i1084682).
However, they cannot follow the manual, because the environment does not correspond to the written text:
-     8.2.1 To set up IdcCommandUX, run the IdcCommandUX setup file, which is stored in extras/IdcCommandUX/setup.exe in the media. – no such directory exists (neither extras, nor IdcCommandUX); ‘extras’ used to be in 10g, though
-     8.2.3 1. Add the IdcCommandUX control to the project . – according to the partner, this is supposed to mean that IdcCommandUX.ocx must exists somewhere – there is no such file to be found
-     8.4 speaks about “IntradocClient OCX component”, 8.5 speaks about “IdcClientOCX Component” – the system has only IdcClient component, which contains only idcclient.jar
Could anyone confirm that COM API is still available in 11g? If so, what steps need to be followed to make it running?
Thanks in advance, Jiri

For what it's worth, I had no problems migrating an authentication plugin from 4 to 5. This is really good, because otherwise I wouldn't be able to use 5.1.

  • Help/Example needed for creating JMSQueues/JMSTopics using the MBean API

    I am trying to create JMSQueues programmatically using the MBean API. When
    I use MBeanHome.createAdminMBean(), a queue appears in the root of the
    config file. This is progress, but the queue is in the wrong place! I need

    So now I am trying to use createConfigurationMBean() instead, but I can't
    figure out what the "parent" parameter should be- no documentation! My
    first guess was that the parent might be the JMSServer, but that doesn't
    work.
    Anyone have example code to insert JMSQueues and JMSTopics into a specific
    JMS server's destinations?
    Here is the code I tried... All goes well until the final
    createConfigurationMBean call, where it throws a MBeanCreationException:
    // Get the MBeanHome bean
    Object obj = jndiContext.lookup("weblogic.management.adminhome");
    MBeanHome mbeanhome = (MBeanHome) javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow
    (obj, MBeanHome.class);
    // Get the server MBean
    JMSServerMBean jmsServerMB =
    (JMSServerMBean)mbeanhome.getMBean("examplesJMSServer",
    JMSServerMBean.class);
    // Create the new Queue
    JMSQueueMBean jmsQMB = (JMSQueueMBean)mbeanhome.createConfigurationMBean
    ("weblogic.examples.jms.fooQueue", "JMSQueue", jmsServerMB);

    Ok, I still don't see how I can do it differently with the admin tool. If
    you want to see the commands I'm using, I can post them, but the basic one
    is shown below in the previous message. We're trying to set up a script so
    that developers can just run it and properly configure WebLogic with the
    right components.
    Thanks,

    I am using the weblogic.Admin tool, not doing this in code. I will attempt
    to translate your advice when I get time again.
    My commands look like this:
    java weblogic.Admin -url 127.0.0.1:7001 -username system -passwordweblogic
    CREATE -mbean "mydomain:Type=JMSQueue,Name=MyJMSQueue"
    I create this, I create the JMSServer MBean, then do and INVOKE (insteadof
    CREATE) and call the addDestination method, adding the JMS Queue MBeanthat
    I created previously, using the same naming scheme as in the above CREATE.

  • Project Oxford. Can I use the Face API for law enforcement app

    Hello,
    I am a .Net developer and have recently learned of Microsoft's Project Oxford.
    I am very much interested in developing an app using the Face API but, had a question regarding the code of conduct.
    Specifically it states:
    People who use your app must have the consent of the people whose images are being processed by your app. We ask that you include a prominent notice in your app UI so your end users know that consent
    is required.
    The  application I am attempting to develop is for law enforcement to detect wanted persons while out on patrol.
    My questions are:
    1. Is there an exception to the rule above for law enforcement?
    2. Can I use the Face api for my application knowing that
    in most cases law enforcement will not specifically ask for consent while scanning people?
    As always thank you for your assistance.

    Hi hi-liter,
    Are you certain that you are signed onto iTunes & Apps in the Canadian store?
    Settings>iTunes & App Stores, click on your AppleID, and then click on View AppleID. Type in your password, then click on Country/Region. Once there, follow the prompts and then select the Canadian Flag.
    Hope that helps!

  • An issue using the COM components supplied with SAP GUI 6.2 or 6.4

    We are having an issue using the COM components supplied with SAP GUI 6.2 or 6.4.  We used to have SAP 4.6c and now we have 5.0.  When we were on 4.6c, we used these COM components to logon and execute RFC calls and we had much success.  Now that we are on 5.0, we can’t seem to instance any SAP functions that have something to do with SAP Workflow.  We have experienced this problem when using VB6 or .NET, but our existing code that always worked is in VB 6.0.
    SAP Components used:
    o     SAP Logon Control
    o     SAP Function Control
    o     Librfc32.dll
    o     Other supporting C DLLs and/or COM object supplied with the SAP GUI installation.
    For example, if we want to call the RFC ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT, this code fails in VB6 when the “Set objworkflow = objFuncCtrl.Add(strFunction)” line of code executes.  Instead of returning an instance of the object ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT function, no object is created.  In 6.2, SAP raises no errors, but the object we are trying to create is still “Nothing”.  If we use 6.4, SAP raises an error “SAP data type not supported” via a message box and then the object is still = Nothing.  Interestingly enough, the 6.2 GUI COM controls don’t display the error dialog.  The message box that is shown comes from the SAP Function COM Object "SAP.Functions" (wdtfuncs.ocx).
    Now, what is interesting is if we use the same code to call a standard function or custom function that doesn’t have anything to do with SAP Workflow, then the code works fine.  Again, all of our code used to work just fine on an SAP 4.6 system.
    Here is the code that fails:
        'SAP Logon control - object for creating connections to an SAP system
        Dim objSAPLogonCtrl As Object
        'SAP connection object
        Dim objConnection As Object
        'Object that will represent the SAP function called
        Dim objSAP As Object

        objConnection.Password = "tstadm"
        objConnection.Language = "E"
        objConnection.TraceLevel = 10
        'call the logon method of the connection object
        If objConnection.Logon(0, True) = False Then
            MsgBox Error
            Exit Sub
        End If
        'Create an instance of the SAP Function control object
        Set objFuncCtrl = CreateObject("SAP.Functions")
        'Set the function control connection object
        Set objFuncCtrl.Connection = objConnection
        'Function name to be generated and called
        Dim strFunction As String
        strFunction = <b>"ARCHIV_PROCESS_RFCINPUT"</b>
        'Create an instance of the function defined in strFunction
        Set objworkflow = objFuncCtrl.Add(strFunction)

  • How to count number of lines inside methods() using the Doclet API

    Wrote a custom doclet using the [Doclet API|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/tooldocs/javadoc/doclet/index.html ] .
    The purpose for the doclet is to load Java source files and create stubs (which are identical Java source files but do not contain any method implementation details).
    Instead, the method implementation details need to be replaced with blank lines...
    public class MyDoclet {
         private static String TAB = "\t";
         public static boolean start(RootDoc root) {
              ClassDoc[] classes = root.classes();
              // Parse through class or interface
              for (ClassDoc clazz : classes) {
                   Type superClass = clazz.superclassType();
                   // Print Methods
                   MethodDoc[] methods = clazz.methods();
                   for (MethodDoc method : methods) {
                        Parameter[] parameters = method.parameters();
                        println();
                        if (!method.isPrivate()) {
                             print(TAB + method.modifiers() + " "
                                                    + method.returnType().simpleTypeName() + " " + method.name());
                             print("(");
                             for (int i=0; i < parameters.length; i++) {
                                  Parameter parameter = (Parameter) parameters;
                                  print(parameter.type().simpleTypeName() + " " + parameter.name());
                                  if (i != parameters.length - 1) {
                                       print(", ");
                             print(")");
                             println(" {");
                             println("\n");
                             println(TAB + "}");
              return true;
    As one can see, I am just creating the method and placing the opening and closing curly braces (along with a new \n line escape sequence, in between).
    Am not really that familiar with the Doclet API...
    Question(s):
    (1) What is the best way to figure out how many lines of code are inside each method and then use a for loop to insert the exact same number of blank lines inside the methods?
    (2) Is there a way to do it using the com.sun.javadoc.SourcePosition.line() method?
    Would really appreciate it if someone could help me because this is an important requirement (hence the 10 Duke Stars).
    Happy coding to all,
    Mike

    This is not possible using the Doclet API, because JavaDoc does not store any information regarding implementation detail. Although MethodDoc#position will give you the line where the method is declared, there is no way to determine where the method body starts and ends.
    If you need that much information, maybe you would be better of using a tool such as Eclipse's Abstract Syntax Tree parser. AST will provide you with line numbers for each code expression, hence it is relatively easy to compute the first and last line in a method body.

    The system I'm have is a Mac-mini that had SL on it and no SuperDrive.  I have also call Apple Support and they have really have not been to much help over 1st did my up grade to Lion and Installed the Lion Server.... it lost my SSL that I paid for and kill almost on of my server setting, plus kill all my web servers (using apache vhosts), and not to say the LDAP will even let remote users login to your laptops.
    PS: There is no way that I'm going to buy a Install USB from Apple... They have over billed me over $300.00 because the Apps Store still has bugs (Glad I did not write that App/Service)
    If there is anyone that can give in the information to create a USB install stick, I would be very thinkful.

    Here you are bro, courtesy of "softpedia.com"....brilliant site!!!
    If you ever had problems with your Mac OS X installation you know that the first thing you should do is to check the startup volume using Disk Utility.
    After the check has ended and, if the errors exceed a certain level of seriousness, the Disk Utility application will require you to restart your Mac and use its Mac OS X Install disc counterpart.
    Other users may have to reinstall OS X altogether, but will find, or already know, that their SuperDrive (a CD/DVD reader and write combo drive) is not functioning properly and it will not be able to read the Install disc.
    Although this might happen to Mac OS X Leopard users due to faultyhardware, the vast majority of problematic SuperDrives will be encountered inside Snow Leopard running Macs.
    This is due to the updated SuperDrive firmware included in either the Install disc or the software updates one has to install to reach the latest version of OS X, namely 10.6.6.
    This can be fixed by flashing the SuperDrive’s stock firmware using free command line tools that one can find for free online (I will write about this process also, but at a later time because this article only focuses on allowing you to create your own alternative USB boot disc).
    If you are reading this last bit of information with skepticism, than you should know that it happened to me too. Despite all my tries to make it work properly, the SuperDrive kept on munching any inserted DVDs and just popped them out in about twenty seconds.
    The workaround to this issue was to create my own Leopard bootable USB memory stick. I am not suggesting a Snow Leopard bootable stick mainly because there are lots of users that have decided to buy the cheaper, Upgrade version, which I have not tested and, therefore, I’m not sure if it will work properly once written to a USB disk.
    And now, here are the exact steps you should follow in order to obtain a fully bootable Leopard (or Lion) Install disc.
    Step 1 (If you already have the Leopard install disc DMG file you can skip to Step 2)
    Launch Disk Utility (you can find it inside /Applications/Utilities). Here select the Leopard Install disc in the list of drives on the left and click on the New Image menu entry at the top of the window. A save message will appear where you will have to select the Desktop as a destination.
    Step 2
    After Disk Utility has finished creating the Leopard DMG, insert your USB stick and erase all data and reformat the disk. To do this select the USB in the list of drives on the left and, after clicking on the Erase tab on the right side of the window, choose the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format and click the Erase button beneath.
    Step 3
    After the USB has been reformatted, download the SuperDuper app from HERE and launch it. Once SuperDuper starts, you will only have to select the DMG in the Copy drop-down menu, your USB memory stick on the right and hit the “Copy Now” button.
    One can also use Disk Utility for this task but creating a bootable USB stick failed 2 out 4 times when copying the DMG to the stick (with the exact same settings each time). Creating the bootable stick using SuperDuper proved to be the perfect way to do it because it worked each of the 4 times I tested it.
    The steps above can also be used to create a bootable Mac OS X Lion USB by using the InstallESD.dmg image you can find inside the Lion installer (named “Install Mac OS X Lion.app”) downloaded from the Mac App Store in the /Applications folder.
    To locate the InstallESD.dmg right click the Lion installer, select the “Show Package Contents” entry, go inside the “Contents” folder, and from there into the “SharedSupport” folder. Inside this folder you can find the InstallESD.dmg you can use to create your own bootable Mac OS X Lion USB stick. To do so, go to the third step described above and use the InstallESD.dmg as the DMG to be copied to your USB disc.
    That’s it! Once the process ends you will have a fully bootable Leopard (or Lion) USB disk that you can use as an alternative to the Apple’s DVD Install disc that comes bundled with all Macs.
    To use your newly created bootable disk you will have to restart the Mac, press and hold the OPTION key until the StartupManager appears. Here, select the Mac OS X Install disk using your keyboard arrows and press return to start from the selected drive.

    According to your company LDAP attributes, you will have to extend the above attributes, telephoneShort for example is an attribute within our company.
    The UME API does the rest.
    All you have to do, is request the right attribute (in my above example it was the last name).

  • How to filter tasks on the Creation date using the IWorklist API in Java

    Hi all,
    I'm currently developing a java gui application to display usertasks set by the BPM.
    I use the WorkList API to communicate with the TaskActionActionHandler.
    I only want the tasks that has a creation that is after a specified date. Therefore I add a filter. The code for retrieving the usertasks now becomes:
    Map filterMap = new HashMap();
    SimpleDateFormat d = new SimpleDateFormat("dd-mm-yyyy");
    Date date = d.parse((String) dForm.get("filterdate"));
    Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
    cal.setTime(date);
    filterMap.put(IWorklistService.FILTER_TYPE_CREATE_DATE_FROM_FILTER,
    cal);
    RemoteWorklistServiceClient client = new RemoteWorklistServiceClient();
    client.init();
    IWorklistContext ctx = client.authenticateUser(user, password);
    List tasks = client.getWorklistTasks(ctx, filterMap,
    IWorklistService.SORT_FIELD_TASK_TITLE,
    IWorklistService.SORT_ORDER_ASCENDING);
    You can see from the above code-fragment that I specify a FILTER_TYPE_CREATE_DATE_FROM_FILTER filter that is given a Calendar object. This is not working properly. Also a Date value gives a runtime error.
    The error I get is :
    ORABPEL-10150 Worklist Service Task List Error. An error occured in the Worklist Service while retrieving the task list for user jcooper. Check the task filter criterion and the error stack and fix the cause of the error. Contact oracle support if error is not fixable. at com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnection.EXCEPTION_ORIGINATES_FROM_THE_REMOTE_SERVER(RMIConnection.java:1602) at com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnection.invokeMethod(RMIConnection.java:1553) at
    Can anyone tell me what kind of dateformat I have to specify for the filter option FILTER_TYPE_CREATE_DATE_FROM_FILTER?
    Thanks in advance!
    Tom

    Hi,
    Enter the format that you have defined in the configuration of the property in the Additional Metadata parameter. Use the syntax customFormat=<pattern>.
    In this link, you have at the end screenshots where to navigate in KM to see the property metadatas of your property:

  • Using the Java APIs

    I am attempting to use the java api in my reporting solution. The application that we are developing is using JSF and java. I wanted to keep the same look and feel for my reports.
    First, I created a very simple rtf template in Microsoft word using BI Publisher Desktop. This simple template is just a table layout of data. No groupings. I created my datatemplate and ran the DataProcessor, the RTFProcessor, and FOprocessor objects. This worked correctly.
    I next created another rtf template. This rtf template contains a grouping on Po_Number. I also modified my data template to group by Po_number. The DataProcessor and the RTFProcessor works fine. However, the FO Processor gives me the following message:
    XDOException <Line 43, Column 93>: XSL-1015: (Error) Function 'current-group' not found.
    However, I can successfully preview this template (with data) in Microsoft Word. Any ideas what may cause this.

    It's either a template issue or your missing some jar files (probably jar files).
    I would highly recommend you download the BIPublisherIDE. All this code and framework is already written and it's free!

    Hello to all,
    this is some sort of theoretical question.
    I been reading the JMS documentation for a while.

    This section describes the ways in which using the JMS API in enterprise bean applications or web applications differs from using it in application clients.
    What a developer is allowed to do is different depending on whether they are writing code to run in a container or not. The container already provides lots of services so some code you would write for outside a container is not needed when you write for a container. There are APIs that you are not allowed for in container code if you want to adhere to the spec.

    2. What is the difference to use the JMS in java EE web orEJB container and application client ?
    Thanks.Read more of that document to find out the differences. Application components in Web/EJBs must not create more than one active session per connection while application clients are allowed to do so.

    BDAqua saved me a lot of typing.   It wasn't clear, though, if you just needed to vent or if you're wanting to address these issues (which will involve a lot of typing).
    One of the main ones you need to do before you do any installing or installing of Flash Player is deal with the disk that won't verify.  Basically you're working with a computer that doesn't know where all its files are.  The computer uses a directory to keep tack of them and your directory needs repairing.  If you don't repair it then you'll just end up losing files, and getting more problems with running the computer.  It's a little bit like never changing the oil in the car, or dealing with an oil leak when it happens.
    First, if at all possible make a backup of the drive in its present configuration.  If something goes wrong during repair attempts and makes things worse you will have a backup.  You will have to decide how to work this in the light of any present backups you may have, for example, a backup that may be a few days out of date.  In that case you may want to keep that one and make a second backup of this as they are now, though I realize people often don't have a lot of empty drives sitting around.
    Boot from the System Installer disc that came with your computer or is the one for the version you currently have on there, select language if applicable, choose utilities, run Disk Utility and verify (and repair if necessary) the drive. You can verify a drive from DU on your main drive while booted but I have found this can result in incorrect reporting of errors. To repair your drive you have to run it from a drive other than the boot drive anyway.
    Next, boot from your drive in [Safe Mode|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107393] and repair permissions.  You can repair permissions while booted from the installer disc but this uses the permissions configuration on the installer disc which may be out of date if you have run any updates on your computer.  Booting your computer to Safe Mode restricts the number of things running on your computer while permissions are being run and does a bit of spring cleaning at the same time.

    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer (Edit: Do not use this disc if it is not the same general version as what you have currently on your computer, e.g. use a Tiger disc for a Tiger drive, not a Panther disc), then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
    Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    Then boot in Safe Mode, (holding Shift key down at bootup; takes longer to boot this way so be patient), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.

    There's some things Disk Utility won't repair (more often thatn not). In that case you need to use a tool such as Diskwarrio (probably #1 but only does this one thing), or TechTool Pro, or...

  • Problems while uploading files using the FileReference API

    I've built an image uploader module in Flex using the FileReference API and PHP.
    While this works perfect for images upto 1 MB, What I'm noticing is that for images greater that 1 MB even after the Event.COMPLETE  has triggered, the file hasn't yet been uploaded into the folder.. its only after a couple of seconds or minutes after the Event.COMPLETE,  that the image actually shows up in the FTP folder. Morever I also noticed that for such files the DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA that we are using to get feedback from PHP never gets called.
    I thought it would be related to the PHP script getting timed out... but the PHP script does get executed and the images do show up in the folder but thats way after the Event.Complete has been triggered and more importantly  DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA doesnt get called.
    Everything seems to work fine as long as the file size is under 1 MB
    Did others too face similar problems and any ideas on how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance

    I don't believe there is, as the browse button renders out as an html input type file component, and this has no ability to get native file size from the client. The only way to do it is to check the file size server side, but that kind of defeats the purpose to some extent, as the file is required to be uploaded before the file size can be checked.
    There is no way to do this on the client short of using a third party client side component - ie. java, flash or some other active component that gets file system level access.

  • How to create a campaign based on a template using the REST API

    Hi CodeIt-ers,
    I'm using the REST API to create campaigns in Eloqua 10, all works well except for 1 thing: I can't seem to create a campaign based on an existing Campaign template.
    Based on the documentation on REST API - Accessing Campaigns I've tried using "sourceTemplateId" (code snippet below) but that did not do the trick.
    Does that functionality simply not work or am I missing something?
    Thanks!
    Ferry
    $campaign_data = new Campaign();
    $campaign_data->sourceTemplateId='442';
    $campaign_data->folderId='1137';
    $campaign_data->currentStatus='draft';

    Hi Richard,
    Unfortunately no. I reached out to support, they informed me "sourceTemplateId" could not be used to create new campaigns based on a template, instead they advised to use the "Elements " property as shown in this example: Eloqua REST API - Create a Campaign with a Segment and Email
    Thanks
