IS Utilities - Reference IMG Node

Hi Friends
I am new to IS Utilities . My system ECC6.0 has been set to Utilities . In the Easy access I am able to access area Menu SISU. However I am unable to see any nodes pertaining to Utlities . I request you to guide me , any activations are required.

Do you mean you are not seeing ISU nodes for "Regional Structure", "Scheduling" etc when you get to the SISU easy access menu?
Your description says IMG whereas your message says easy access menu. These two are different, IMG is the configuration and easy access menu is the transactional aspect of ISU. If you want to access ISU configuration, you just go through regular SPRO -->SAP Utilities.

Adding custom nodes in SAP reference IMG and accessing them using SM30

I was able to successfully add an IMG node and few activities under the node (for our custom configuration table data entry) in SAP reference IMG. (using transaction SIMGH).
However, when I execute transaction SM30, enter the name of the custom table and hit the button customizing, it does not take me to the appropriate node in IMG. It simply doesn't do anything.
For any SAP table or view, this works like a charm (wherever SAP has configured the nodes). But when we create custom nodes for custom tables, it does not work.
What steps am I missing?
I will really appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi Sree:
I assume you have either created your view maintenance for Z tables or you have created transaction attaching calling SM30 for view maintenance of your Z table.
You may go in transaction SIMGH and in SAP reference IMG, create a main node (wherever your end client wants you to put it) and under this node, you can create sub-node for each view maintenance with a suitable description of sub-node.
Once you save and activate, you are done.
Then you can execute transaction SPRO and you should see your custom nodes wherever you attached them in the tree.

Missing IMG node for Scenario definition

We are currently configuring FIORI PR approval and the IMG node for Scenario Definition under Task Gateway Service is missing. Components installed as well as the IMG screenshot is below. Any thoughts on what would be missing is appreciated.

I see you use old UI components which were released in May 2013.
Important Note: Please use new UI with new SAP Fiori Launchpad
New UI components have UI extension points and work with new SAP Fiori Launchpad.
Please find correct components based on your Backend version.

Add own Customizing in SAP Reference IMG

Hi all,
i want to add some of my own customizing into the SAP Reference IMG Tree.
I created with transaction SIMGH a new structure for my things.
But how will i get this structure into the SAP Reference IMG Tree?
I want to have it under the node "Logistic Execution->Shipping->Picking"
I want to do this in my developing system, and transport it to customers.
When i use transaction S_IMG_EXTENSION , it warns me that i will do a modification, is this the right way ?? can i transport this modification to customer systems?

Hello Steffen,
Ofcource you can add your own customizing in SAP Standard IMG.
If you want to do any changes in SAP delivered IMGs, then you should do it using enhancement ID. The transaction for this is S_IMG_EXTENSION..
If you do any changes in standard SAP customizing and if you later apply any SP or upgrade, then there are changes that your changes will be over-written by the standard SAP IMG again. But if you do it through enhancement ID then these changes will remain even after system upgrade. Enhancement ID (also known as Extension ID) can be used to encapsulate your changes to the standard objects.

No Project IMG has been defined for Starting Reference IMG SOLMAN ERROR

Hi All,
I created a off release project in prodcution and assigned logical compenents. When I am trying to create a IMG object for SPRO it is showing an error stating that "No Project IMG has been defined for Starting Reference IMG ". when I click Ok button it is showing another message ""Screen output without connection to user.". I Verified in project administration(solar_project_admin)> System Landscape>IMG projects, status for distributing IMG projects to component systems is showing in Red color. No IMG projects have been distributed into the system.
RFC connections are showing are correctly. I am not able to find the problem and solution. Could any one help me to figureout the problem and what needs to be done

I have created a view "activity necessity", but not have selected any of the check boxes in "mandatory/optional/nonrequired". As well i havent generated it. I can do the "configure" now without errors
my question is - is there anything critical which is related to this views? I went through the help page you sent me.. Is this for creating the implementation guide? any guidelines you can send me about this is highly appreciated.

No Project IMG has been defined for "logical compt". Starting Reference IMG

Hi,
I have my logical component setup, and have my DEV system added. I have the BPH setup, and is trying to do configuration. when i select an IMG and click on "configure" i am getting the following error, but it takes me to the IMG
Error:
"No Project IMG has been defined for Z_LOGIC_COMPT. Starting Reference IMG"
I went and checked in solar_project_admin, system landscape/project/IMG. Selected the development system from the "system role for IMG projects". I can see it in RED. How can i generate this? I guess its because of this, am getting the error above

CRM IMG nodes are missing in SOLAR01 - configuration Tab

hi Experts
i am facing very strange issue. I am trying to link IMG nodes from the backend system in configuration tab.
the IMG nodes are available in backend system from SPRO , whereas when i try to add the IMG object from the configuration Tab in solar01, these nodes are not available for the selection.
Does any body faced these kind of situation.

Hi,
Make sure that those nodes are selected in the IMG project scope. This can be seen at SPRO_ADMIN for the IMG project, under tab "scope".
If the nodes are not selected, select them and generate the project IMG.

Can't find voice in SAP reference IMG

Hello,
We are currently upgrading to Release ECC 6.0 and we need an help about the treasury conversion. The User Guide say that before we can begin with the conversion we must do some settings. For example "Valuation classes", the guide say that are maintained in the SAP reference IMG under:
Transaction Manager
-> General Settings
--> Accounting
---> Settings for Position Management
----> Define and Assign Valuation Classes
But if we search this voice in SPRO transaction we can't find it. Where we wrong? We need to install something?

Jupp... the path is correct I just verified.
So just some guessing here:
Guess 1: Complete Path starts with: "Financial Supply Chain Management" --> "Treasury and Risk Management" --> "Transaction Manager" --> "General Settings" --> "Accounting" --> "Settings for Position Management" --> "Define and Assign Valuation Classes"
Have you started with right path with "Financial Supply Chain Management"??
Guess 2: Your system is still technically NOT upgraded? (< Enterprise 2.0). Well then you might first need to:
a) technical upgrade
b) Customization (see migration guide)
c) Conversion with transaction: TPM_MIGRATION
This is why it's advisable to have some "dry-run" migrations to check everything is working correct as expected.
However when you struggle with these settings it's very much advisable to include SAP Consultant (or SAP Partner) that have experience in this process and can give important recommendations. As the guide points out: this are very important setting that can not be changed after conversion, but they determine on how the systems position position management code will work after migration.
So please watch out!

Hi Solution Manager Experts,
We are using Solution Manager for SAP Configuration & Testing .
The IMG nodes are created at Business Process Level in the CONFIGURATION TAB.
Can the IMG nodes that are created for one Business Process, be re-used /copied to an another
Business Process in Solution Manager.?? .

You can do this at both business process level or at another project level in Sol man.
In both the cases you have to take 'projects' in the drop down which exists on the right hand side in blueprinting phase (SOURCE).This shall take you to the project as suggested by you and then will give you an option to copy the blueprint structure of the project.This structure then will get copied onto your project and the IMG nodes shall also get copied in the config phase of your project.
Write back in case the problem persists...it shouldnt!

Where used list is not working for IMG nodes/Document in solar01

In template project , we are using same IMG objects in different business processes and subsequent configuration document is attached to each IMG node in configuration tab. ( like same IMG node - define order types used in different business process configuration tab )
when i use " where used list " from the configuration tab , its not showing the IMG objects used in different business processes in the same project. whereas its showing the IMG nodes used in the different project.
I need to find out the same IMG objects/ document used in the same project using the " Where used list " button.
Please provide your answers
Note : we have linked one configuration document to same IMG nodes used in different business. " where used list " also not working for documents as well

Hello there,
I just tried some tests and couldn't face any problem with locating other usages for the objects in configuration tab.
You mentioned a configuration document, so have in mind that the document usage will only be considered if it is a link to the same document and not just a copy.
e.g:
Here I created a document in this node:
Then I added it as a link here:
and as a copy here:
When I go back to the original node and use the where-used, it'll only show the original and the link:
This happens because after copying a document, it is considered as a new one instead of another usage of the original one.

Well IMG information is used for analysis of the sepecific project for which you have generated the IMG .
Here you can decide the scope of the project and assign the same to the IMG along with responsible head.
For eg. if you are running 2 simultaneous projects in a co. then you can generate 2 IMG for diffrent projects , so you have a track of the same .

Hi !
The SAP Reference IMG contains alle the customizing functionallity of SAP.
Within a Project IMG you can restrict the availible customizing function.
Thinking about having an MM project. When you create an "MM" Project IMG you will only "see" MM relevant customizing functions in your project IMG.

VI Reference Property Node inside sub-vi

Hey Folks,
I was always curious about why this is:
If I open a vi-reference in one vi, and pass the reference to a sub-vi, I can put a property node in the sub-vi and get all properties just fine - as long as I am in debug mode. When I compile to an executable this problem has its own error message and everything. So why does debug mode not throw an error too? I'm just trying to deduce what the heck is the difference.
Check my painstakingly time-consuming example.

When I discovered this issue I was coding an "About" modal screen that a user could select from a run-time menu. This was supposed to work just like Labview's "Help->About Labview" screen, giving program description and version information. So I tried to simply link in the revision from my vi's proerties because that would automatically keep a revision count and I didn't care what the format was as long as I could get a number. I just wanted an easy way to check the revision, and its easy to give someone simple instructions to check the "about" screen. Is there an easy way for a user to check the revision if all I do is put it in the application builder? User-friendliness is key, because for me to support the application I will need to have them tell me the revision they are using over the phone or in an email.
Will it be possible to create this screen in 8? If I just do it in the application builder, is there any way to link to it and build an "About" screen? I don't really care what format. It could be revision 728 as long as a user can get to it in a simple way. Otherwise I will have to just build a screen with plain text on it and edit the text by hand every time I build an application. Isn't there a more elegant way to do it?
