Is Verizon going to replace Damaged SD Cards after the OTA update

I have read several post of damaged SD cards and lost data after the recent over the air update. I am one of the people who lost all data and the card was ruined. I can't even format in a PC and the phone doesn't recognize it. So I now have to buy a new SD card? That does not set well with me!

If you have set this phone up, then there would not necessarily be a solution here until you have been verify with the provider that everything is provisioned correctly on their end. Since the 3G comes from your cellular provider, if the settings are correct on the phone, then you should work with the carrier next.

Do you place the ipod in the dock during the night? I did this once and the other day the battery was almost empty because it kept on playing after it rested in the dock.

Volume damaged after the security update?

whats goin on , i dont understand , up until yestetrday the mac was workin fine and then i installed the new security update and now im gettin random kernel panics and some programs quiting unexpectly, even when i run onyx and when it checks the status of S.M.A.R.T it says that it needs to be repared and to boot using my osx disc and repair the disk, i did that but disk utility didnt find any problem, i just got another kernel panic 5 mins ago, how do i fix this? i tried to fix permisions but nothin wrong there either, please help me

The 10-Step Program to Overcoming Kernel Panic Syndrome
Apple finally replaced my MBP, as well, but they made me jump through hoops and waste days of self-diagnosis and prayer offerings to the Kernel Goddess.
1) Kernel panics began about a month after purchase and within 30 minutes machine became unresponsive.
2) Apple replaced logic board.
3) Kernel panics began within days of picking up machine from Apple Store following logic board replacement.
4) Called Apple Store and was told to wipe the drive and do a complete reinstall (a pain since I would also have to reinstall Parallels, Windows and Windows apps).
5) Called AppleCare to get a 2nd opinion. Technician told me an OS X archive and reinstall, which is less obtrusive, should fix it. He also said if kernel panics continue afterwards, hardware is defective and Apple Store should replace.
6) Did an archive and reinstall of OS X. Kernel panics continued. Apple Store refused to replace machine, and instead insisted I do a complete reinstall.
7) Ran Apple system diagnosis tool (one of the CDs the MBP came with) in looping mode for 8hrs. No issues found. Kernel panics continue.
8) Completely wiped the hard drive and reinstalled everything from scratch. Kernel panics continued.
9) Apple Store refused to replace machine.
I purchased the MBP Core Duo in early October, shortly after which Apple released the MBP Core 2 Duo. I began to wonder if Apple's reluctance to replace my machine was due to the fact that they may no longer stock Core Duos, so any replacement would effectively be an upgrade, at least in terms of chip speed (2.16GHz to 2.33GHz).
10) I asked the Apple Store if the "unearned upgrade" was why they were dragging their feet, and if so, I would be willing to pay the difference because my entire job is run off of the laptop. They finally agreed to replace my MBP Core Duo with a MBP Core 2 Duo. The C2D came with 2GB RAM whereas the CD came with only 1GB RAM which I upgraded to 2GB at time of purchase. So my only out-of-pocket costs were to pay for the extra 1GB RAM (I kept the additional Apple 1GB RAM from original purchase because Apple could not except used RAM in the exchange).
So far, the new MBP C2D has not had any kernel panics (hope I don't jinx myself now). I had to be very persistent, and I documented the cr*p out of everything (calls, emails, kernel panic log, visits to stores, calls to AppleCare, hours spent diagnosis, reinstalling).
Hope everyone gets their kernel panics resolved. I lost days of productivity and years off of my life from the stress of stomping around my office, cursing like a wounded pirate.

Invalid SIM card after trying to update iPhone 4 software to iPhone 4S software

When I have tried to download the new iPhone 4S software my phone has said, "Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier's store to receive a replacement SIM card." This has happened to me two other times. I have never taken out my SIM cards, and have always followed all the directions to update to the new iPhone software. The apple store has always been really confused when I have brought my iPhone in to solve the problem of having an "invalid SIM card" and has consequently figured out that my SIM card and iPhone have both been "fried" by trying to update to the new software and have subsequently given me a brand new iPhone each time. This is a very frustrating problem with apple, and takes too much time to correct every time. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Has anyone else experienced the iOS going into recovery mode after the latest update?

I had a notification stating a update of iOS 6.1.1 was available. I started to install the software OTA. after about 10mins, my phone turned off, and when turned back on, showed a picture of a cable and the word iTunes.
I plugged it up to my computer which told me it was in recovery mode. its reinstalled the new software but I've lost everything. Photos, Videos, Apps, notes, Music, Messages.
I back it up regularly, but when i tried to restore the backed up file, Ive still lost a 80% of my photos, no videos have been readded, and all my Apps I have had to redownload from the App Store.
Needless to say, it's things like this that make me really wish I had re-upgraded to an Android!
Has anyone else experienced this issue with this update?

iMac running OSX 10.9.2 (and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB) working NOT OK

When I try to connect to AirPlay Display via my iMac, it says it's connected, but my TV goes into a full black screen mode. Despite it says it's connected to AirPlay display, I cannot actually change from Extend Desktop (my default) to Mirror iMac for example, as it doesn't allow to select it. Also, if I "open display preferences" I don't have any "Arrengement" tab as I have on my MacBook Air where it is working ok.

Connectivity issues with AE card after v4.2 update on 10.3.9

Teach me not to read up on updates before installing them, though I suppose I shouldn't have to....grr. Stupid lack of quality control.
Anyway, I have a 1.25ghz PB running os 10.3.9, and my network was running just fine before I installed the update. Afterward, when I opened up Safari, I had full, fast connectivity for about 15 minutes. Then certain sites, like the MacAddict forums and Yahoo, simply refused to open (they timed out), and several others would take five or six tries to get through (all other tries would time out) Some sites would open consistently, but the vast majority of those I could even contact would not load properly or completely. Most would either not load graphics, hang midway through the transfer, or never reach 100%
Oddly, my connectivity through other non-web ports (AIM, bittorrent) seems unaffected.
My wired ethernet capability is still fine as well, no problems with any browser, so long as I'm plugged in (to the netgear router at the moment).
This same problem occurs with Safari, Mozilla and IE (yeah, I even tried IE) So I doubt it's the Safari 1.3.1 update that I installed at the same time.
It also occurs on both an AEBS and a Netgear WGR614, so it's not a matter of the AEBS firmware.
I've tried rebooting, resetting, reinstalling the 4.2 software from the standalone package, reinputting my network settings, deleting pref files, etc. All to no avail.
If anyone has any clue what's going on, I would much appreciate the help.

Sadly I don't have answers either. I'm not sure what happened but as of the last few days i've been having the same problems. There are also times when my mac mini wont even connect to the base station.
What I find strange is that my sister has the same airport firmware installed and her machine is unaffected. I'm on hold with apple atm, so we shall see what they can figure out.

Lightroom is not a file browser. If it thinks the photos are in folder A, you need to tell Lightroom that the photos are really in folder B. This is not a copy or a move. This is a "re-connect".

hello dawn, please be aware that there are malicious websites out there which will trigger fake update notices/popups which try to trick you into downloading software bundled with adware. please never click on such websites or execute such files on offer - updates are handled automatically by firefox and you don't have to download any file for it (you can always manually check if you're up-to-date by going to ''firefox > help > about firefox'').
please try these steps to regain your firefox:

As long as you are buying content for yourself (you can't use your account's balance for gifting) then it should have automatically used your balance for your purchase (there isn't a setting or anything that you can change on your account, it should be automatic). how to design my application to retrieve the data that was collected on RT Series hardware while the host PC was not in communication with the embedded LabVIEW RT application.

I rember correctly, that may be one of the more challenging varieties to pull this stunt off.
First, you are going to have to make sure you have enough memory to buffer the data while the host if doing something else.
If you have enough memory you may want explicitly work up a comm scheem between the host and PC (probaly using VI server) that will let the host know there is data avaiailable and it should get it.
So, doe sit seem like we may be getting closer?

    I have been a customer for many years and for the most part have been satisfied with your service, but what happened to my Note 3 after the latest update is unacceptable. I see many people in this forum with similar issues that are getting stock answers that don't really address the issues, and show a lack of interest in solving the problems, and helping your customers.
     I received my Galaxy Note 3 at the end of March, and I loved it. It was very reliable, fast, and I could go a whole day on the battery (Most of my days last at least 18 hours) making calls, streaming audio or video, even sharing my broadband connection with my tablet once in a while, and still show the battery was 50% charged. Until I received the 4.4.2 update on May 17th.
Immediately after the update (which I installed that morning, fresh off the charger) the battery only lasted until around 7 PM, when I plugged it into the charger first it didn't recognize it was even plugged in, and later kept telling me that I should use the original charger and cable for better performance.
The clock showed the time as an hour later, I had to manually set the time zone instead of using the "obtain time zone information from the network" feature.
The alarm clock randomly decides not to go off, this morning at 9:30 it still showed the alarm was set to go off at 8 am, but didn't.
Yesterday while a mile from my house I received a notification that I would be charged extra for data usage while roaming outside of the U.S. and asking did I want to use it or not, while It had already disable my data waiting for a response, this would be useful if I had been outside of the U.S. and not at home.
     Don't tell me that my 45 day old battery lost 80% of it's functionality overnight because periodically they need to be replaced, while that is true it happens gradually over time and not within a 24 hour period. The other problems, while somewhat minor, are still annoying and detract from the reliability of this device. Not getting up on time because the alarm is unreliable is a big issue, I've used the alarm on my phones for 15 years without serious issues, and today I will be buying an alarm clock..
     I've worked 30 years in the IT field, many of those helping people resolve technical issues and I know how to tell the different between user configuration issues and broken software, If you don't have a real answer to mine and other peoples concerns on this forum then maybe it is time to escalate this issue to someone that was involved with building this update.
     I don't want to restore my phone unless it will actually solve the issue and not "lets see what happens when you do", because it would take me hours to reconfigure all of the software on my device. Removing the update is probably not an option, so what I really want to know is when will the update be pushed that will fix these issues?

Hearing about all of the issues going on is upsetting to me, and so I can only imagine how you're feeling. I'm sorry you have to go through this experience. How hot is the phone getting? Hearing about it overheating is a huge safety concern and I'm worried. Have these service issues been going on since you got the phone?

Is iCloud Photos going to replace iPhoto?

I see that using iCloud Photo (beta) prohibits syncing photos via the iOS device and iPhoto on a Mac. Is this because Apple is looking to discontinue iPhoto in the future? Should I start transferring all my photos from iPhoto into iCloud? Man, if that's the case, that's going to take a lot of time and space.....

I managed to locate the cause of my missing emails. I upgraded both a Macbook and an iMac to OS Lion back in July. After the upgrade, I move house and only setup the iMac a week ago, logged in and left is sitting in my study. iCloud used imap, which means whatever happens on any computer with access to your email is reflected on all connected deviced, as well as webmail.
Back in August, I had an issue with emails not appearing in my inbox on my Macbook. I identified the problem, which was the Lion installed disabling the Spamseive (3rd party spam filter) plugin.The missing plugin meant that all emails were moved to Spamseive's folder, but not processed and returned to my inbox. I had discovered this on my Macbook and reinstalled SpamSeive few hours after the Lion update.
Unfortuneatly I did not rectify te problem on the iMac before packing it away. After I set it up a week ago, the iMac has been fulling all incoming emails into a local folder on its harddrive, thereby reventing them from appearing in my inbox on all devices. Droid DNA - No SIM card after OTA update

I took the OTA update for the DNA today. Now my phone says it doesn't have a SIM card. Reboot does not solve the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?
Why can't Verizon properly test updates before unleashing them on its customers?

I have had the 'No SIM Card' issue before and after the software update, and am beginning to wonder if it's a hardware issue. Last night, I did not have a connection for nearly twenty minutes, and during that time I rebooted (quick power off as well as closing all apps) and turned airplane mode on/off about 20 times. I've had the No SiM card issue for about 3-4 weeks in varying occurrences. I've taken very good care of my phone, haven't dropped it, and haven't done anything to damage it, so I don't know what Verizon is going to do about this, but it's holding me back from updating my data plan and buying expensive accessories like the wireless charger.
Furthermore, if an emergency situation were to happen while this problem were occurring, I will absolutely hold Verizon responsible for any damages or injury caused by the inability to communicate through 911, etc.
