Is versioned repository part of Oracle ATG Web Com 10 Impl cert topic?

All, Does anyone know if the 'versioned repository' is part of the "Oracle ATG Web Commerce 10 Implementation Developer Essentials" topics ? Oracle University website says that its is part of the certification (http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=41&p_org_id=13&lang=HR&p_exam_id=1Z0_510) however the Partner website doesn't talk about the 'versioned repository' repository. (http://www.oracle.com/partners/en/knowledge-zone/applications/atg-web-commerce-implement-exam-1529925.html)
Thanks,
Sanju

+1 with Gurvinder. It is mentioned in Oracle ATG Web Commerce 10 Implementation Developer Essentials - Exam Study Guide
http://www.oracle.com/partners/en/knowledge-zone/applications/atg-impl-dev-st-guide-1532521.pdf
Check out Topic 11: Advanced Repository Concepts. The second sample question mentioned there is itself from versioned repository.

  • ORACLE ATG Web Commerce Business Control Center language

    Hi!
I have just installed ATG 10.1.1 and my BCC is showing a mixture of German and Englisch?
Is there an option to choose the language I want to have shown in BCC?
And please don't answer with change your browser settings etc. !
    Thanks and regards,
    Heiko

There is a number of things that you may have to do, depending on the locales of your ATG server and browser:
    - start the ATG instance with -Duser.language=en -Duser.locale=US
    - in BCC, go to the Personalization section and set the language of your user to English
    - set your browser locale to English
A combination of those configurations will set the BCC language to English.
By the way, make sure that your BCC is set to English before trying to configure the deployment, especially agent. At least in 10.1, configuring deployment (and who knows what else) doesn't work in languages other than English.

  • Best practice for integrating oracle atg with external web service

    Hi All
What is the best practice for integrating oracle atg with external web service? Is it using integration repository or calling the web service directly from the java class using a WS client?
    With Thanks & Regards
    Abhishek

Using Integration Repository might cause performance overhead based on the operation you are doing, I have never used Integration Repository for 3rd Party integration therefore I am not able to make any comment on this.
Calling directly as a Java Client is an easy approach and you can use ATG component framework to support that by making the endpoint, security credentials etc as configurable properties.
    Cheers

  • Integration of Oracle ATG with external web service

    Hi All
I am new to Oracle ATG 10.1 and am trying to integrate ATG with an external web service. I checked the documentation library and checked ATGWSFrameGuide but it only helped theoritically. Can anybody share any resource / docs to explain how to integrate ATG with web services.
    With Thanks & Regards
    Abhishek

There is no rocket science involved here. Just create a component whose properties file can contain the required properties like the wsdl path, etc. Create the stub classes out of the wsdl, jar it and place it in your classpath. Populating the request data into stub and invoking an operation will be similar to the one that we use in normal java while working with web services

  • Oracle ATG - Login/Registration on Third Party

    Hi,
I have a requirement where when a user comes on my Oracle ATG site i redirect him to third part web application forĀ  the Login/Registration( third party web application screen).
How do i login/register him in ATG without storing his password in ATG database ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Try with below steps.
    1. Send user to third party login page with return URL(your application home page), In your application login link should be like http://thirdPartyDomain/login/?returnURL=yourAppHomePage
    2. Third party application redirect to returnURL after authentication with a cookie in a request which tells authentication is successful/failure.
    3. Create a pipeline component which include a JSP(login.jsp) usingĀ  RequestDispatcher rd = request.getRequestDispatcher("login.jsp"); rd.include(request, response);
    4. login.jsp call a handleLoginWithThirdParty(req, res) of ProfileFormHandler by <dsp:setvalue bean="ProfileFormHandler.loginWithThirdParty" value="submit" />
    5. handleLoginWithThirdParty call third party web service to get user data and update user profile with third party response and call handleLogin also.
    Hope this will help you.
    Thanks,

Not sure what to call the server - this works okay when I'm not using tunneling and using our proxy server??

I think your problem is that you have a proxy user/password and the TCP Monitor (both the command line and built-in 9.0.3 version) do not support that - they only support specification of the proxy server itself :-(
It is a feature request that I hope will make it into the late spring/early summer release of JDeveloper - I wrote it up as a request based on the number of folks who faced this issue with these tutorials.

  • Oracle 9i WEB-forms, with or without Headstart?

We have some applications that are created with Designer 2.1.2 and Headstart 2.1.2 and we are about to migrate these to Oracle9i Web Forms and here are my questions:
    1) What are the advantages/disadvantages if we continue to use Headstart?
    2) What do we need to get Headstart working together with Oracle 9i Web Forms?
    3) Where do we order new software/license for "Headstart for 9i"?
    4) Are there any way we can get support on Headstart except the forum on OTN?
    5) Briefly explained, if we remove Headstart and replace it with own-developed code, what would our main tasks/problems be?
    6) Are there any functionality we cannot have if we remove Headstart from our applications?

    1) What are the advantages/disadvantages if we continue to use Headstart?
The advantages would be more or less the same as for Headstart 2.1.2, except for the fact that you can make use of new features, and it runs on the web too! A 'disadvantage' would be that only web forms is supported out of the box (not client/server) and you need to set up an application server. Of course you need to migrate, which sometimes can be a difficult task. However, this depends on things like customizations on top of Headstart, typical client/server features that have been used and that cannot be migrated to web forms etc. A lot of this has been documented in the Headstart Migration Guide.
    2) What do we need to get Headstart working together with Oracle 9i Web Forms?
We build Headstart against Designer 9i (+ Developer 9i that comes with it). At this point we still are working on Headstart for Designer 9i.
    3) Where do we order new software/license for "Headstart for 9i"?
Contact your Oracle Consulting Manager, or call Oracle and ask for Mike Kruijsdijk.
    4) Are there any way we can get support on Headstart except the forum on OTN?
You can hire consultancy from us or one of our partners.
    5) Briefly explained, if we remove Headstart and replace it with own-developed code, what would our main tasks/problems be?
    To mention some of them:
    - It probably would take man-years to build a template package with the same functionality
    - Headstart code at some points deals with Forms bugs, which you now have to deal with yourself
    - You have no support any more (upgrades) and need to do upgrades for new versions of Designer yourself. I've seen more than one customer that are years behind with upgrading to new versions of Designer, because of this.
And many more. You really should investigate this thouroughly before you start on this. It would not surprise me if you come to the conclusion you might as well rebuild your applications completely.
    6) Are there any functionality we cannot have if we remove Headstart from our applications?
You can have anything you like, as long as you build it yourself. But for practical reasons I suppose you will not have RuleFrame for example.
As long as you don't start building new applications with it, the code practically is yours, so you might consider to do the upgrade of Headstart yourself. Of course support will be more difficult, but you still can hire consultancy.

  • Oracle Java Web Server 6.1 / 7.0 Reverse Proxy

    Hello everyone,
I have just installed both Sun Java Web Server versions 6.1 and 7.0 on Windows x86, trying to configure the Reverse Proxy Plugin, but none of the installations came with the libpassthrough.dll file mentioned in several documentations.
I have searched both Google and Oracle websites but links on Google point to the former sun.com website and Oracle gives nothing :(
update: I've installed Oracle iPlanet Web Server 7.0.15 and got only digest, fastcgi, htaccess and loadbal in the plugins folder, no libpassthrough :( Help!
Does anybody know where can i get the Reverse Proxy Plugin for Windows ?
    Thank you very much,
    Daniel.
    Edited by: user2579623 on 07/08/2012 13:19

In 6.1, the libpassthrough library comes in a separate download, usually with the application server, ie glassfish. In 7.x it is build in so there is no separate library to add, the functionality is just there and can even be configured from the web admin interface. Just use web server 7 and have a look at the admin console.

Your proxy instance should start. The error you are seeing should only be for the admin server. Add the location of where your jvm.so is located to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. The jvm.so is located under the JDK directory.

  • Oracle's web site is one of the most frustrating I have ever used

    Hi,
There are two major issues with oracles main web site: lack of consistency and lack of information.
I would challenge anyone to draw any sort of coherent information architecture map of the oracle property. It would be a dogs breakfast because there is no consistency in how the site is laid out. Consequently a new user has no idea where to go to get the information you want. Sometimes you are directed to downloads from landing pages and other times its more product information. But it's rarely what you expect.
Secondly, take for example the download a the BPEL Process Manager for JBoss. I can't even find that page now where I downloaded it from... But, nowhere in the download page, and nowhere in the 100+MB download is there any explanation of what JBoss versions are supported. Just unbelievable.
If I did not have to use the web site, I would never go near it!
    Cheers,
    The Captn.

Actually, I find there is an amazing amount of consistency. I believe that Oracle's technology web face is organized as a set of portals. Let me walk you through an example:
Start at Oracle's main tech page, Oracle Technet at http://otn.oracle.com . That page, and virtually all those below, are organized as follows:
Top banner - log in, search (not particularily good),
Top shortcuts - quick links to First glance, Download, Documentation, Forums, Samples and Tutorial portals

So, if I'm looking for BPM for JBoss, knowing that's a middeware product, I'd go to the Left Nav bar, Products: Middleware to get to the Middleware portal.
That portal has the same general layout as above, so I concentrate on the center section. Just below the enormous (and confusing) picture, I notice the Fusion Middleware Family links which includes BPEL Process Manager. Click to get to that portal, and
That portal has the same general layout as above. This one's an end portal as it's got references to documentation, downloads, and white papers. It's may have the information I'm looking for. In fact, it's got the link to the download page you want.
On that download page, I note, close to the bottom is an older download of BPM for JBoss, and it specifies "Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 for JBOSS (v3.2.6) ". That is the older one, so I assume the newer download is either for that version or a newer version.
Aside from that, some of Oracle's better kept secrets are their Certification Matrices. In general, you could check http://www.oracle.com/technology/support/metalink/index.html and for App Server matrix, look at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/oracle_soa_certification_101310.html
    Hope that helps.
