Is virgin mobile internet registration possible in Australia

Hello
I have a blackberry curve 9300 , all I want is for the mobile internet to work , I have phone virgin but they keep directing me back to blackberry . i have found this website to register my phone with virgin
http://http://www.virginmobile.blackberry.com/
On that website i start the registration and then a page comes up which says the following :
your device is not registereed . Please register your device and try again
Then it  says go to advanced options click on host routing table and click register now which I did but nothing happens .
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hi there,
According to the following link, Virgin Mobile Australia does not currently offer BlackBerry service, nor do they have any plan to do so in the future.
http://virginmobile.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/228/kw/blackberry
This means that while you will be able to use the BlackBerry for phone and text messaging, you will not be able to use the device for any BlackBerry data related services (e.g. BBM, email, etc.).
While I know this likely isn't the response you're looking for, I hope it does answer your question.  My recommendation would be to check out an alternate carrier such as Vodafone AU or Telstra (i.e. carriers that do support BlackBerry devices).

Is there a way to use the USB virgin mobile internet device with OX M??

I cannot say for sure if the g/b vs n is the cause, but if all other devices like the AE and that one device does not, you go with the odds.  Others will have to chime-in on that.
And I recommend NetGear (not necessarily *above* LinkSys) because my 3-year-old NetGear router has been serving my MBP fine for 3 months ... no glitches.

  • Is it possible to use a WVC80N on Virgin Mobiles Mifi2000 Hotspot?

Anyone know if it is possible to use a WVC80N on Virgin Mobiles Mifi2000 Hotspot?  I live out in the country and the only network connection we have is via the Mifi2000 3G portable Wifi Hotspot.
So far I have not had any luck setting this up, mainly due to the fact that I can have one device talk to another device locally across the hotspot, so all setup would have to be done on a dummy / closed network.  I tried this but wasn't successful in getting it to accept the Mifi2000 wireless access point.  It saw it and recongnized that it had WPA but after entering the key and complelying what i thought was the last step of the wireless config, it just fails to connect.
Of course, the mifi2000 also automatically passes out dynamic ips, so i have to use a DDNS service...but can't get that far.
    Anyone know?

How many computers do you have in the network?
What is the IP address and default gateway number on your computer?
In order to connect to the wireless network, WVC80N should get valid IP address from the access point.
If the access point has capacity to assign a private IP address to the computers and devices then I think you can use WVC80N.

  • Macbook Pro + Virgin Mobile USB Modem + WiFi Time Capsule = No Internet :(

Helping a friend with this. Can connect to Internet OK w Virgin Mobile USB modem. When he then connects to Time Capsule via WiFi, the Internet stops working. Turn off WiFi and it starts working again.
I looked at the routing tables and both interfaces are set as default. I disabled default on the WiFi interface but had no effect. Here is the output of the netstat -rn command. If anyone has any insight it would be appreciated.

What's the ordering of the interfaces in System Preferences : Network? My first guess would be it's favouring the wifi by default so you will need to change the ordering.

  • I recently switched to Virgin Mobile, and was wondering if I could send my iphone in, and switch it for a virgin mobile one. Is that possible?

I recently switched to virgin mobile, and was wondering if I could send in my iPhone and get a virgin mobile one instead. Is that possible??

You can sell it on eBay or Craigslist and buy a new one. I had an AT&T iPhone 4S and switched to virgin. I bought the iPhone 4 and sold my 4s for $350 on Craigslist. It cost me about $100 for the new phone after all was said and done.

  • Is it possible to have a Virgin Mobile Iphone 5s, moved over to Sprint Contract?

    Hey all!
So I have been wanting an Iphone 5s as a second phone for a while, and now that virgin mobile is offering an INSANE deal on it, I want to jump on it. With that said, I am currently on Sprint for the next year and a half or so and do not want to pay a second round of phone bills for 2 different phone numbers. So I was wondering, since Virgin runs off of Sprint's network, the Iphone model should be the same. How easy would it be to transfer the Iphone from Virgin over to Sprint? If its even possible at all. Thanks!

No. It's locked permanently to VM.

  • Nokia 5800 and Virgin Mobile (Australia) data setu...

Has anyone here got their 5800xm working with Virgin Mobile Australia data plans?  I have been having much trouble getting the browsing to work on my phone and have spoken to Virgin a number of times.  Any help would be appreciated.  Perhaps there is a setting in the phone that I need to change etc that I don't know about?

The reason virgin won't give you the settings is because it's not a model they sell.
What you need to do is call them and tell them a different model. For example ask them for the settings for a nokia 2330 instead as they do sell that model and the settings will work on your 2220.
The settings may also work through the link below but i'm unable to test it.

  • Am a new user have the iPad mini have the virgin mobile wifi as have not Internet connection but it loses the connection and have to call to have them reset device is there another way for wifi service thank you terrie

Am a new user have an iPad mini and have virgin mobile mifi device for wifi, as this is the only Internet we have but it keeps going out as they are upgrading there system and I have to call at least 3 times a day to reconnect is there another way or other service for wifi that would work instead, I am not good at these devices thank you terrie

Windows 7 Home Basic does not support ad hoc or hosted network functionality (what Connectify and Virtual Router use). At a minimum you would need to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. Note the Applies to these editions of Windows 7 statement at the right in this article.

Again using a broadband wireless (WiFi) router is the best way to go presuming its in your budget.

  • How can I find out info on a possible mobile internet outage?

I have a verizon MIFI 2200 mobile internet device. I have had internet connection issues with it since yesterday (Sunday afternoon).  Desktop computer, IPOD touch, & my laptop all show that they are connected to the mifi.  Internet signal strength is good, shows at least 3 bars.  But we cannot connect to the internet, the page will not load.  Called tech support yesterday.  They ran all basic diagnostics on my laptop settings, and no problems were found.  One support guy said that he saw "tickets" on outage issues, but he could not see where those issues were.
After 2 hrs on the phone with tech support and finding no solution, we went to the Verizon store.  We decided to go ahead & upgrade to a jetpack mobile device since our unit is 2 yrs old.  While the sales lady was setting up our new unit, she also had the same connection problem.  We also heard other customers in the background with the similar issue.  I can't find out any other info on this.  Nobody seems to know that there is an outage problem, BUT THERE IS AN OUTAGE PROBLEM!  Can someone please help me?  All I want to know is, "Is there an outage problem with Mobile internet/over the air (satellite) in the middle Tenneessee area & when will it be fixed?"

Yes, there is an issue.  Like you, I've had issues and finally (after 2 tries) got through (after a ridiculous wait time) to tech support.  They said that there is a mobile data outage resulting from the storms this past weekend.
As typical, Verizon has balked at being more proactive and providing outage notifications but instead would prefer to frustrate customers by forcing them to call in, consuming ridiculous amounts of support representative time, and further lowering customer satisfaction.
Verizon remains a "bi-polar" organization, with some great technology (albeit also with some very poor stuff as well such as the infamous 4150L) but with some of the absolute worst customer service that has ever existed on this planet.

  • BB Torch (unlocked). Cant setup email (times out when selected) via Virgin Mobile

    Hi Everyone
    I have a BB Torch 9800.
It was originally registered on the Rogers network, and everything worked fine.
I recently unlocked the phone, and switched to Virgin (ie new SIM card), including a data plan.
Im not able to setup an email account now.
When I go into Setup->Email Accounts->Internet Mail Account, it says "Check for updates'.
After a couple minutes it will timeout saying it can't connect.
In searching the fourms, I came across Host Routing Table settings. My HRT has  "* No entries *'. I have "Register Now", which tells me the Registration message was sent, however I havent had a response back.
Im also wondering if this phone is still "registered" with Rogers somehow?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

My providor is Virgin Mobile in Ontario, Canada. A quick web search seemed to indivate they support this BB, but IM not positive. So it coul just be thats the issue.
From what I can see in the official Download Portal, Virgin Mobile Canada indeed does support the 9800...you can double check here:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html
If a carrier lists an OS package for a specific BB model number, then the carrier supports that model, and everything should be fine.
But, that is step 5...what about the things included in steps 1 through 4? Those, of course, are all steps...requiring the success of a prior step before considering proceeding to the next step. So, for instance, if your voice services aren't yet working from Virgin, then you should not even be thinking yet about getting data to work.
    As to your questions:
    phantasie wrote:
How do I go about registering the BB onto their network - namel generating the proper Service Book delivery.
Do I request this through my BB?
Normally, I suggest the following steps, in order (again requiring success before proceeding), even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Unfortunately, we already know that your BB fails on step 1 here (register HRT)...which then precludes moving on to step 2. Which leads me back to the prior steps...did steps 1 through 4 all result positively?
    phantasie wrote:

Would the providor do this for me automaticall?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no...when in doubt, the steps above are the way to force it.
    phantasie wrote:

Would I request the providor to do this?
If it does not work with what is above, then the next logical step would be to contact the carrier for formal assistance...after all, it's their network with which you are attempting to get your BB to communicate.
    phantasie wrote:

Do I login into BB to do this (ie I found this link https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html which I tried logging into, but it says my device isnt registered on the network. It told me to setup my Host Routing Tabels to fix that, which I tried, but hasnt worked yet).
There is more than one way to accomplish many of these things. But, until your BB properly registers to the carrier network (HRT), attempting to go any further is pointless.
With all of that, we're back to steps 1 through 4 of what I previously sent...if those are not completed properly, then nothing else will be useful.
    Good luck!

  • Samsung N150 Verizon mini + adding Virgin mobile broadband 3g USB

I got the Verizon mini notebook 2 days ago and am having a heck of a time connecting my Virgin mobile broadband 3g USB adapter. I disabled the laptop network card and I followed Virgin's directions and still no internet access. I cannot get a hold of Virgins customer service. Is this thing even possible? Thanks, Mark

Go to Verizon or T-Mobile sites and check their coverage maps

  • When will the iPhone 6 be available to purchase through Virgin Mobile USA?

I want to upgrade as soon as possible, but unfortunately the iPhone 6 can only be purchased through Virgin Mobile in Canada and Australia so far. Does anyone have any idea when it'll be available here in the US?

You can pre-order it on Friday with a contract with AT&T, Sprint or Verizon and it will not cost you 700$, but remember that you are tied into that contract for 2 years and your phone will be locked to that carrier and you can't get it unlocked until your 2 year contract is up.

  • Using my Blackberry 8520 on Virgin Mobile

I have had my phone for one month (curve 8520) with Virgin Mobile and managed to run up a bill of over £500. I put this on here to warn other Virgin customers to be very careful how they use their phone. There is a 25mb daily allowance for blackberry usage and a 1Gb monthly allowance for internet usage. I cannot understand what the difference is. When I contact Virgin I can check the balance of my internet usage - this never changes. Unbeknown to me I was using blackberry usage which I could not check with my provider. I had the facebook application and the ubertwitter application on the phone. These are now removed. As I understand from Virgin using any applications on my phone will mean using the blackberry usage which will not be enough and therefore I will get charged. Blackberry is marketing these phones to my age group - early 20's and Virgin are advertising it with application use.
Has anyone else had this problem? I cannot understand what I can do with my phone or how to use it. Thank you for any advise you can give me.

Hi hunnybee - don't panic. This seems to be a problem that Virgin are having with some Blackberry phones and not others. At the minute they cannot separate blackerry usage (emails) with normal internet usage. When you ring for a balance it says you are still OK. Your best bet is to check online just to make sure you are not incurring any unexpected charges on your account. They are hoping to get some sort of patch out in the next couple of months to sort it out.
