Is WebCenterConfigure component mandatory?

Hi All,
We are setting up environments for our project. I would like to know if 'WebCenterConfigure' component is mandatory. This is for a custom portal application and our requirements are as follows:
1. We are not using WebCenter Spaces. (I know in case we need to use WebCenter Spaces this is mandatory as it enalble accounts and does the basic configuration)
2. We will not use Accounts. Security will be managed using security groups alone.
3. We will use WCM through Custom Content Presenter templates.
4. Use RIDC to invoke custom services in UCM.
I would like to know if its really mandatory to enable this component.
Thanks,
Manjunath

For your requirements it is not required to install the component.
I have done this for a custom portal. I didn't install the webcenter component for UCM and everything was working just fine. Only when spaces was required i enabled the component.
So you don't need to install it from the beginning and if you want to use spaces, there is no problem in enabling it later on.

  • Java component externally installed

    Hi everybody
    i asked SAP basis team to activate Java on the SRM server (we use SRM 5.0) The asked back if they could install this externally, for example use the existin java component in our PI server.
    Could I get all applications running that use java in such a scenario or is a local java component mandatory?
    Best regards

  • Data Communication between ERecruiting 3.0 standalone and R/3 4.7

    Dear All,
    We have the ERecruiting setup comprising of ERec 3.0 standalone with the backend HR system 4.7. We are using ALE to communicate between the two systems.
    In ERec 3.0 we have the message type HRMD_ABA with basic type HRMD_ABA04 while on the R/3 side we have HRMD_A06 available. Our data transfer requirements are satisfied by HRMD_A06 but it is not available on the ERec server. Due to this we are not able to transfer certain infotype data required like IT1007,0023,0024 etc.
    We managed to transport the basic type HRMD_A06 to the ERec server and tried sending the data across for Vacancy infotype 1007. It worked but the idoc went into error. On further investigation we found the table for IT1007 does not exist on ERec neither do the required functions to push the data into HRP1007. Is this becoz the PA component does not exist on the ERec 3.0? Is the PA component mandatory to be installed under such a landscape. We have only installed following components SAP_ABA-640,SAP_BASIS-640,SAP_BW-350 and ERECRUIT-300.
    We are able to transfer the OM data and see the same on Requisition tabs but not the Vacancy information due to missing table for 1007.
    How do we resolve this? Do we need to get the PA component installed or is there any other solution to transfer the data for IT1007,0022,0023.
    Any suggestions and help will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Chetan Mane

  • Field selection in th Project Builder

    Hi PS gurus
    I want to make the Recipient field and the vendor field in the Purch. data tab of a Component mandatory
    How do i do that
    Can somebody help
    Amit Fernandes

    hi..
    for material components, you have a certain doc type that is created.. (if it generates a Purch Req)
    Most likely it is purch requisition doc type NB (CHECK in IMG - Project System - Material - Procurement - check acct asst categories and doc types for Purcs reqs)
    now this doc type has a certain assigned field selection key.. you can check this in IMG - Materials Management - Purchasing - Purchase Requisition - Define Document Type.
    here you can see what particular field key is assigned.
    NOW, you can change the attributes of that particular field key in the path i provided in my earlier post..
    just select the Field Key that was maintained (for example NBB) and check the fields whether it is hidden, Optional entry or required..
    so here you can set Requisitioner, Vendor, Tracking Number etc.. as Required.
    unfortunately i didnt seem to notice if Recipient field is included.

  • Way to Capture Pre-Test Score?

    Hi all -
    We're using OLM 11.5.10j and want to have a pre-test that, if passed, exempts you from needing to complete the course with which it's associated, and would also mark the overall course as complete. If the learner doesn't pass the pre-test, they would have to take the course + post-test. We also want to capture the pre-test and post-test score separately, so that we know what the score on the pre-test was and, if applicable, the score on the post-test.
    We thought about using two separate "courses" - pre-test, and course+post-test - as part of a Learning Path. That way, we could set the Learning Path to have "at least one component mandatory" and set a the pre-test as a mandatory pre-req on the course+post-test. However, that's a little clunky and really isn't a Learning Path.
    We've looked into other AICC-spec fields that are available in OLM to which the learning object would post additional values to show pre-test/post-test score, then report on those spare fields to determine the respective scores. However, we ran into issues understanding what fields were available in OLM for the LO to post to.
    Any suggestions on how to implement this? Thanks!

    Hello Lee
    You can use DFF attributes in OTA_DELEGATE_BOOKINGS table to store Pre-Test Score and Post-Test Score. Build a class just like any other class......
    Class has 3 Main sections
    1. Pre-Test Section
    2. Class
    3. Test
    If the employee passes the Pre-Test Section...Employee can either continue to take the class or else give the credit to employee for the entire class. (Storing the Pre-test Score in one of the attribute is similar to the way we change the date_status_changed field in OTA_DELEGATE_BOOKINGS table.)
    If employee doesnt clear the pre-test section then save the pre-test-score using package/plsql api to store in DFF attributes of OTA_DELEGATE_BOOKINGS table and continue...rest is the normal process as in other anyother class....
    Hope this helps.....
    I am also expecting some one to give a nice solution.
    Thanks,
    Srujan

  • Active Composant Framework

    Hy,
    Is the ACF componant mandatory in case of Adobe Interactive Forms in portal ?
    Fisrt specifics developments seem saying it is not ...
    Can you tell me in which cases it became inescapable ?
    Thank
    Alain

    Hi Alain,
    ACF is mandatory if you are using ActiveX components in your Interactive Form.
    If you are using ZCI (Native) forms, then you need not install ACF on your system.
    ZCI Native forms works with NW 7.0 SP 09 and above.
    If you have NWDS 7.0 SP09 or above then you will get an option to develop ZCI forms.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Disable Accounts

    Hey
    I am looking to disable Accounts in our new envrionment as the security model is very simple and doesn't require that level of granularity.
    When I open Admin Server, I untick Enable Accounts, and click Save. I can then see "UseAccounts=false" added to config.cfg.
    However, after I do a restart of the Managed Server, I log on and go into "Administration | Configuration for <server>" and User Accounts is set to True. Simiarly, the "UserAccounts=false" has been removed from config.cfg.
    Summary of environment:
    11gR1-11.1.1.6.0-idcprod1-120501T084637 (Build:7.3.3.183)
    Any suggestions as to what might be going on?
    Cheers,

  • How to set mandatory a InputField in standard Web Dynpro component?

    Hi guys.
    A very weird thing is happening. I am trying to validate that a non-mandatory STANDARD input field (COST_ASSIGNMENT) does not to be empty. This input field belongs to GENERAL_DATA_VIEW, FITE_VC_GENERAL_DATA WD component. The entry fields at screen belong to this GENERAL_DATA_VIEW, but navigation is allocated in buttons that belong to another component (LAYOUT_VIEW in the FITV_FPM WD component). All the views and components are standard and they seem to be in the same screen from user's point of view. I was able to put my own code at WDDOAFTERACTION method in LAYOUT_VIEW to raise an error message.
    Incredibly, my error text message appears in the MESSAGEAREA, and the UI components from GENERAL_DATA_VIEW are rightly still in the screen waiting for user answer since I set CANCEL_NAVIGATION = 'X', but the UI components from LAYOUT_VIEW (the buttons with navigate functions) changed like they had accepted my entry in spite of I set the code in this view. In fact, below my error text displayed, there is other (success) text which communicates "Standing approval for business trips exists" with a green tick.
    The success text should not be displayed since I raised an error message, even after (I think so) the system created the success message.  I suspect that the standard positive message with the green tick indicates that my error is being taking into acccount by the system to be displayed but the LAYOUT_VIEW UI components dont stop navigation and the data is wrongly saved from the code where the success message was generated.
    I think there would be another way to define an standard inputfield mandatory, but I dont know how to do it. Do you know that? I really appreciate all help. Thanks

    hi,
    just make the input feild as mandatory in properties and use the following code.
    data:
    lo_view_controller type ref to if_wd_view_controller,
    lo_dyn type ref to cl_wd_dynamic_tool.
    Create Object
    create object lo_dyn.
    data lt_messages type lo_dyn->t_check_result_message_tab.
    Get view controller reference
    lo_view_controller = wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
    Call Method to verify the element has the value or not
    call method cl_wd_dynamic_tool=>check_mandatory_attr_on_view
    exporting
    view_controller = lo_view_controller
    display_messages = ABAP_TRUE
    importing
    messages = lt_messages .
    endmethod.

  • How to set Batch as mandatory field in Subcontracting PR component input

    Hello,SDN members
    Happy New Year!
    My scenario is about subcontracting purchasing:
    1. Move stock to vendor through movement 541
    2. Create a purchase requisition includes items with item category "L",
        and then input component,that is a quantity of material moved to vendor above
    3. Convert PR to PO
    4. Process GR according to PO
    Beause the batch field is optional in component  input screen above step2,the user always forget to input it.
    So I want to set Batch field as mandatory in component input screen.
    I have not idea about it,Could anyone give suggestion?

    this batch number field for the component in the PO is optional for various reasons. the batch that you send to your subcontractor may not even be produced at the time when you create the PO. In this case the user could not enter anything.
    The PO is created by buyers, but the component is send to the vendor by the shipping department, the buyer usually does not care about the batch.
    The batch field becomes mandatory when you ship the material to the vendor using ME2O, or even in the transaction MB1B
    and the batch field is again mandatory when you receive the finished good and have to issue the component.
    The batch field in the PO component can only be made mandatory from a good developer in a user exit

  • Price field mandatory in component data under activity

    Dear Peers,
    In CJ20N, the price field while attaching material component takes material MAP from master if no price is maintained or zero price is specified. But for description material (w/o master), the system takes the price as blank field. We want that field to be mandatory.
    Can we have any field selection in project systems for purchase requisition created.
    In MM, the valuation price is made mandatory & is working fine. But for the PR from PS it's not working
    ProjectMan

    Hi ProjectMan,
    Please go along below path and make the price field(AFVGD-PREIS) mandatory.
    SPRO>IMG>Project Systems>Structures>Operative Structures>Networks>User interface settings --> Define field selection for nteworks --> Field selection :Network:Details -->AFVGD-PREIS
    Make it mandatory. Price value in PR from PS will become mandatory.
    regards

  • Component Required Quantity Field Mandatory In PM order

    Dear All,
    I want to make required quantity field as mandatory in PM order component tab.
    Plz help
    Rgards

    Dear Friends,
    Requirement for not changing the qty arises in the situtaion like,suppose a person has created the maint order for certain qty,and released either by him or by his superior.there is a possibility that component quanity can be changed by the lower level people.(like supervisor or technicinan).In this case ,it can be controlled by authorisation .ie Dont give order change authorisation to those people,so that componenet quanity cannot be changed by anyone other than authorised people.
    This problem i am facing in my every projcet,and handling thro roles and authorisation only rather than going for making the quantity field mandatory with some devellopment and alll.
    I hope it is clear.

  • How to bind UI component to a view object which is created from a SQL query

    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.
    I created a method in my ApplicationModule to create an instance of ViewObject dynamically based on a "voCode" passed in :
    public ViewObject loadVO(String voCode) {
    ViewObject viewObject = findViewObject(voCode);
    if (viewObject == null) {
    viewObject = createViewObject(programCode);
    return viewObject;
    I created a Client interface for this method and refreshed the data control of the ApplicationModule.
    From the "Oracle JDeveloper 11g Handbook", I should be able to create a tree binding and a methodIterator executable for the "loadVO" method via the data control of the AM.
    I tried to add the binding manually to the page definition of my jspx page as I like to see if I can replace an existing binding with this new binding.
    I was not able to add the binding as the "Create Tree Binding" required both the "Root Data Source" and "Tree Level Rules" to be specified.
    I could specify the "Root Data Source" to point to the "loadVO" and corresponding parameter but not able to add any rule.
    When I clicked on the "+" icon to add rule, nothing happened that allowed me to specify the rule (if I know what rule I need to add).
    How should I bind the application module method "loadVO" so that it can be exposed in the Data Control to provide the data for a UI component like dynamic table?
    On the other hand, I could create the "methodIterator" first for the AM method "loadVO" but I wasn't able to create a tree binding to reference the "methodIterator".
    Is it possible to invoke the loadVO method with specific parameter value via the "methodIterator" from a bean method?
