Is Weblogic Builder part of Weblogic Server Product ?

We are planning to use Weblogic server 8.1 product.
Is Weblogic Builder is part of that product ?
Your response is appreciated.

  • What's the differenct in the BEA WebLogic Server Products.

    hello,
can anyone tell me the difference between 'BEA WebLogic Server Advantage Edition' and 'A WebLogic Server Premium Edition'?
    thanks.

Premium supports clustering of servers, web sessions, jms and ejb's.
Advantage edition only licenses non-clustered servers.

  • Oracle Weblogic Server 10.3.3 editions

    Hi,
    Oracle data sheet http://www.oracle.com/us/products/middleware/application-server/wls-featurematrix-ds-069041.pdf says:
"The Oracle WebLogic application server family includes three offerings; Oracle WebLogic Server *Standard Edition*, Oracle WebLogic Server *Enterprise Edition* and Oracle WebLogic *Suite*."
    My question is:
Since during Weblogic installation I don't get asked any questions about install type or choosing edition how do I know which licence should I obtain?
    With regards,
    Goran

    Hi Goran,
From what I know is that WLS has stop using licence.bea file from the version WLS- 10 MP-2, which can also seen in the below link which only provides licence file till WLS 10 MP-1
    Topic: BEA WEBLOGIC SERVER PRODUCTS
    http://www.oracle.com/us/support/licensecodes/bea/index.html#WLSP
Hence you do not need to worry about the licence.bea file, however to get more information on it I think WLS support team would be the correct people so would ask you to open a ticket with them.

  • How to use wlappc on a build machine where weblogic server is not installed

    All,
We have a build environment where Weblogic server is not installed. We are currently moving from WL8 to WL10 but because of the relative paths in the weblogic.jar for version 10 I cannot figure out what jars I need in order to use the compile utilities without actually having to have the entire WL10 Application server installed on my build machine.
In WL8 we just needed the Weblogic.jar, webservices.jar, and wlManagement.jar.
Now it seems we need wlfullclient.jar webservices.jar and the weblogic.jar and all the jars in the relative classpath for the weblogic.jar, which is a very long list.
Is this really so? Seems shortsighted on Bea's/Oracle's part if we now need to have a full installation of the application server just to use the compile utilities on our build machine.
Any help on what jars to include so as to use wlappc or wlcompile on a build machine where weblogic 10 server is not installed would be appreciated.
    Todd Flora

I no longer need help with this, as I have determined to load weblogic on our build machine.

    Hi,
you see that message: "The password must be at least 8 alphanumeric characters with at least one number or special character." ?
The password: The weblogic password you provide when prompted
must be at least: minimal condition for secure passwords enforced on WLS by default
at least 8 alphanumeric characters: no 7 but eight or more characters
with at least one number or special character: password should have a number in it or an "@" "-" or similar
    E.g.
    weblogic1
is one password option that would meet that requirement

  • Error when using Project Gantt Chart in Production Weblogic Server 10.3.5

    Dear All,
I have an application utilizing <dvt:projectGantt> Project Gantt Chart. I have tested it in intergrated weblogic server and it is working correctly but when I deploy it in Production Weblogic server, error occurred with NullPointerException on the ViewObjImpl -- class not found exception. Dear Arun,
The WLS server is the same for (integrated WLS and Production) . For JRF template I'm sure it is the same. I have deploy another application that used BC, and it work fine in production.

  • Connect OEPE to a Weblogic Server running in Production SSL mode

I am trying to connect an ECLIPSE IDE to a production Weblogic Server domain. However when I add the AdminServer to the IDE I get the message that it is Stopped but Synchronized. Therefore I cannot deploy any code directly from the IDE. How do you get Eclipse to connect to a production domain running with SSL enabled?

According to the Oracle docs you can connect via ssl to a domain in development mode using the demo certificates. See
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11035_01/wls100/secmanage/identity_trust.html - Configuring Demo Certificates for Clients
I was wondering if it was possible using proper certificates and a production domain.

  • The product maintenance level of the current installer weblogic server 10.3

    Hello members,
I already install weblogic, Oracle SOA and every thing work file, well later in last step when i tried to install Jdeveloper so i choose use existing Middleware i got an error that Jdeveloper and Middleware that i already install at PC
Is different versions, my question is not have a way to i can install jdeveloper at existing middleware i dont want to create other middleware.
here is image for error that got when i tried install jdeveloper at existing middleware http://www.mediafire.com/view/?z13uhrpj0ay760g
    regards,,

    Hi Ahmed
Sorry to be pushy :) but unfortunately its better to create a separate middleware home to install JDeveloper. Its just another folder thats all. JDeveloper will have its own small integrated weblogic server good enough to deploy and test any J2EE apps except for SOA/BPM.
I have seen many users facing issues having JDeveloper and WLS + SOA in the same middleware home (same folder). The thing is these 2 step over each other and refer to same home and overwrite some modules. When you try to Create a SOA/BPM Domain, you will see Project Facets from your JDeveloper and also from WLS+SOA and it will be fully messed up. It may work but its not supported and may run into issues down the line.
For SOA/BPM you should and must have separate standalone weblogic server + soa suite on top of this.
Finally here's an official note from Oracle:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16162_01/install.1112/e17074/ojdig.htm#BDCJDDFE
See Section "3.3 Installer Screens" with below Notes. Install JDeveloper in a NEW home except for ADF. Also on windows os, do not have any spaces between the folder names.
    Notes:
The JDeveloper component should always be installed in new Middleware Home. The only component in the Oracle installer that can be installed into an existing Middleware Home is the Application Development Framework, and that should not be done if ADF has already been installed on the system by other Oracle Fusion Middleware products.
For the remainder of this document, in the context of the Studio Edition, MW_HOME has been used to represent the Middleware Home directory that you have chosen. For example, if you selected C:\Oracle\ as your Middleware Home directory, then MW_HOME would refer to C:\Oracle\.
    Thanks

  • Install Forms and Reports builder 11g without WebLogic Server

    Hello Everybody,
Presently to install Forms and Reports builder 11g on a PC for developers, we need to install WebLogic Server prior to that.
For this, we need lot of resources. Hardware, to download big software bundles, memory resources, etc...
If we have a solution like *"Forms and Reports builder 11g and its tools as stand-alone distribution from Fusion Middleware technologies"* ........ no words from me.
Do you have a solution to install Forms and Reports Builder 11g without WebLogic Server?

  • Admin training for WebLogic Server - just the Forms and Reports parts

We will be upgrading our Forms & Reports application from 10gR2 to 11g. Our customers (well their DBAs) will need to install and manage WebLogic Server. So I'm looking for a training course where they can learn how to do that. The WebLogic Server admin course is 5 days, and another 4 for Advanced System Admin, which seems a lot as they are only going to use the parts required for Forms and Reports.
I have read through the tutorial Using Oracle Enterprise Manager to Administer Forms Services. Is this the extent of what they need to know, or is there another chunk of the iceberg under the water? Can you recommend a training course please.

    Hi,
After installing forms, the installer itself configures the WLS with the domains etc and also deploys the forms. Once after this, it is similar to that of 10g Application Server. All the maintenance of the forms is done using Enterprise Manager (EM Console). So, the section you mentioned should suffice.

Make sure everything is on one line, and that (as in my case) you select the right components.
Should have posted this answer two days ago, but I thought to let you flounder a little (just kidding).

  • Build and run Sun's PetStore1.3.1_02 application with BEA WebLogic Server 8.1.

    build and run Sun's PetStore
1.3.1_02 application with BEA WebLogic Server 8.1.
    5) In the same Command Prompt, compile PetStore using the commands:
    cd c:\bea\user_projects\domains\petstore
    setPetStoreEnv.cmd
    cd c:\petstore1.3.1_02\src
    ant
    buildfile:build.xml does not exist!
    build failed
could you tell me how ?
    thank you

What we, BEA, provides is a patch to allow you to compile Pet Store for
WebLogic Server. It does not contain the source code.
Sun's Pet Store source code can be found at
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/releases/petstore/petstore1_3_1_02.h
tml. See the requirements section of README.TXT
You need both in order to make it work.

    Hi Nick,
I tried building the petstore1.3.1_02 application following theinstructions in the readme. But I got an error as the buil.xml file is
    missing in the directory.....\petstore1.3.1_02\src.
    >
I tried unzipping the downloaded again and for a petstore.domain.jar alongwith the readme. This jar does not contain the build.xml file.
    >
Then I tried compiling one by one the component folder and found that the../xmldocuments/src folder has only a build.xml file but no source file...

Kinldy suggest what to do? Can you send me the zip via email?
P.S: I have checked the zip and the files are missing.

  • How can i build application using Jdeveloper 10g for Weblogic server 10.3

    Hi,
We have a requirement where in we want to build an SOA application using Jdeveloper 10g for Weblogic Server 10.3.
Is there any way to make a connection to Weblogic Server 10.3 from JDeveloper 10g? If there is any way please share it with me.
    Thanks,
    Amit Kumar

    Amit,
SOA Suite is not yet certified for WLS 10.3. You have to wait for the certification of it.
At the moment you can't install the SOA Suite on WLS 10.3 nor connect from JDev 10.1.3 to it.
