Is Wifi possible on the 8310 Curve?

Hi,
I am in the UK.  My service provider is O2.  They tell me it should be possible to connect to my home Wifi.  There doesn't seem to be any option to do this on my phone.  Is this because this model (8310) does not have that capability?  Or am I missing something?
Any help appreciated,
John

  • Creating a video to play on Blackberry 8310 Curve

I'm wondering if anybody has had any success creating a video to run on a
    blackberry, specifically the 8310 Curve.
I've gone to the blackberry site, looked at their specs on what type of formats it will run, and I've read the blackberry manual...but there is a whole menagerie of complex specs that is difficult to decifer...in otherwords, it's not as easy as it "will run a quicktime" or "mp4".
If anybody has successfully created a video using FCP or Quicktime Pro or Compressor to run on their blackberry, I'd be interested in hearing exactly what format you used and how you got there.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
The services you listed in your post will require a data plan which is provisioned by your wireless provider. You may want to contact your wireless provider to see if you have the correct plan.

I5 still using ios6 as of last night the phone will not connect to my Internet, in settings it says connected with the check mark however there is no wifi icon at the top of phone, have done everything possible to resolve... My i4 and pads are fine, I've had this phone for 8 months with no problems until last night , AT&T not any help, apple wants $ I thing it's a software problem.. Any one had this issue?

    - Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    - Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
    - Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
    - Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    - Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
    - Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

  • Is it possible that the Video sharing with wifi in...

    Hi everyone:
If there any method to let video sharing work without 3G.
when I'm home, it will be more cheap and it will get more bandwidth from wifi rather than the 3G data connections.
Is there any body konw the method of configuration of video sharing with wifi?
    Thank you very much.

You might also consider consulting an optometrist or physical therapist. It's possible that you're squinting without realising it or otherwise tensing up your face and neck muscles, either of which could easily cause puffy eyes and quite possibly skin irritation. I strongly doubt that it's any radiation from the screen itself. There are no magnetic fields from an LCD screen, and no more infrared radiation than from your TV and far less than any sunlit window.

What do I do if my wifi only iPad mini is offline? Is there any way that I can locate it while being offline or turn it online remotely or possibly use the built in GPS?.

Answer would be no unless application provided such feature. Numbers does not as far as I know.
Note that even if you have complete list of formulae used in a table, identifying formulae referencing any given cell is not simple.
E.g., cell T20 is referenced not only in
    =T20+1
    but also in
    =SUM(T)
    =SUM(20:20)
    =SUM(S19:U22)
    =OFFSET(S1,19,1,1,1)
    =INDIRECT("T"&(10*2))
In order to identify such formula, we have to actually evaluate it to see if it references the given cell. Especially such formula as OFFSET() and INDIRECT() may not be found by static parser because their parameters can be dynamic.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings.

  • Is it possible to get the BlackBerry Curve to be a reliable MODEM?

My BlackBerry has been a constant source of frustration since it is worthless as a data device, it frequently drops connections and often will not reconnect again.  The phone provider just runs through a standard set of clearing cache, removing battery, etc. types of circumventions that may get the connection back but it fails soon after.  It is pointless to have a device that needs to have the battery removed multiple times every day, and that ends up being an unreliable MODEM for connecting to the internet.  Talking to the phone service provider is of little help since they are a middle man for RIM whom seems to provide them with no real means of resolving problems, and RIM seems to have isolated themselves from the customer base so that they have no idea about how the customer experience with their product.  The problem is encountered from both a Windows Media Center (WIN/XP) desktop and a Windows Vista Laptop, using my sons NOKIA E51 works without any problems and even provides faster connections in the process.  It seems that this is a problem with the BlackBerry product, but I have not been able to find any support that can resolve the issues.
ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO GET THE BLACKBERRY CURVE TO BE RELIABLE?
Message Edited by pdh1948 on 07-12-2008 02:40 AM

I would recommend that you update the handheld operating system. You can see a list of latest versions available HERE. If your problems persist then you need to get a replacement device from the carrier.

  • Can I lock the volume curve to the track so it moves with the track?

I can't seem to move the volume curve when I move the section or track. Is it possible to lock the volume curve to the track or section? Otherwise I have to recreate the curve for that section or track which seems so completely inefficient that I can't imagine that is how it is supposed to be done.
    Thank you!

    here, this should help:

  • 8310 Curve does not connect at all

    Dear folks,
After trying 3 days to get my BB 8310 Curve connected to my network provider (I do have a data plan and internet plan) I´m a little bit upset.
    The problem:
I have all necessary data-plans and also registered my BB on the internet at the Web-Page (BIS?).
Ok, my handheld is also recognised and the system doesn´t complain.
But: on my handheld I can see only the word "edge" (in small letters - this shows that no data-plan is active as we know, but that´s not true) and not "EDGE" as it should be.
An even better suspicicous issue: I called with the hotline from my provider and he also could see within his database that my handheld is registered and all plans were active.
    So I tried following:
I inserted my SIM to another BB and it worked! (not so with my BB)
I also inserted another SIM from my colleague (who also uses a BB) and what happened? Nothing - also no connection.
So I assume that there´s somehow a bug in my handheld?
Has anybody an idea? I would very appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Andy
By the way, I have the latest OS:
    Package Version: 4.5.0.312
    Consisting of:
    * Applications: 4.5.0.187
    * Software Platform: 2.7.0.109

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Apple offered a refund for users who purchased Logic Pro 9 30 days or less before the Logic Pro X launch, but they don't do it anymore, so if you want to upgrade to Logic Pro X, you have to purchase it in the Mac App Store
    Part of this is incorrect...
Some App Store employee's "accidentally" (but in good faith) issued refunds to a few users who had purchased Logic 9 within 30 days prior to the mid-July release of Logic-X. Word quickly came down from Apple HQ that this was against App Store policy and the practice was immediately stopped.
To the original poster.. you never stood a chance, even if they were issuing refunds you didn't fall within the 30 day period.  There were many who purchased Logic 9 a few days before the LX release who did not get a refund.

  • How steep is the learning curve for InDesign?

    5-1
I am a book author and previous works are out of print. I have scanned and digitized the books but need to revise and re-print several that are filled with color photos, using on-dermand technology. SOem of these books will also be pub;ished as e-books with embedded features like videos. Is it silly for me to try to learn how to lay out and prepare for printing a 200+ page book, or is the learning curve so steep that I am better off hiring an agency to do this work? I have never used Pagemaker so this is a whole new experience for me. Need advice PLEASE!  THANKS to all - Joel

Do you enjoy solving puzzles (page layout is often about fitting too much stuff into too little space, and making it look good), are you a little geeky (InDesign is a very complex piece of software, and you need to understand the technical stuff as much as the artisitic to be really successful) and do you have experience working with images (you mentioned a lot of photos)? Would you consider the challenge of learning the software fun or a pain?
Any reasonbly bright person (and I hve no reason to think you aren't at the very least reasonably bright) can learn to use InDesign, but if you are doing so only because you think you "have to" you'd probably be better off hiring a pro. On the other hand, if you like a challenge and want to put a few weeks or even months into learning what you need to know, then go for it. Aside from books, you'll find some free tutorials on the web, good, but not free, tutorials at lynda.com, possibly some good classes at your local community college or adult education, and plenty of free advice right here when you get to the point where you have more complex questions.
I used to teach InDesign at my local community college. We offered regular semester-long courses which were worthwhile and some six-hour classes that were a joke. I teach the production staff of the student newspaper what they need to know to produce that particular project in an afternoon, but they don't get fluent for a few weeks, and they'd mostly be lost, even after a semester, if asked to branch out to something new like a book.
You mention your books will get distibution in electronic format instead of or in addition to print, and that's an additional layer of complexity to learn (and you really need to understand the requirements and the limitations for producing electronic publications, in my opinion, before starting your project if you want everything to go smoothly). I think the question isn't so much how steep is the curve, but will you enjoy the climb, or do you just want to get to the top as quickly as possible. If you're not sure, download the trial (Ok, folks, I know one of you bookmarked where the CS5 trials are hidden for the next couple of weeks) and take it for a spin so you have a better idea waht you're in for before you shell out the big bucks.

  • Abandon the Tone Curve?

I am finding that the new sliders in LR4 are extremely effective.  I am wondering if routine Tone Curve adjustments are helpful any more. How do you feel about using the Basic Sliders for adjustments, and not using the Tone Curve?  What would I be giving up by abandoning the Tone Curve?

    EricBier wrote:
    Jeff,

I am at a loss to achieve precision using the Tone Curve in Lightroom since any move affects the entire image creating undesireable effects in areas I am not focused on.  If I do not go to Photoshop, I tend to use the Adjustment Brush or the Graduated Filter in Lightroom to affect different areas differently, after setting the Basic Sliders.
In general, you are right--I find it best to go to PS for localized tone curve adjustments.  But there are a surprising number of special cases where  judicious maipulation of the LR curve can affect only the area you want affected.
For example, its an easy matter to bring out sky detail when photographing dark aircraft from below by increasing the curve slope in the bright region and restoring the curve shape at the mid and dark tones.  This basically increases sky contrast (and detail) in a way that is not possible with other LR adjustments.
For the last few years I've been teaching a Photoshop class that emphasizes curves techniques like that in PS.  I'm a new LR user and was surprised at how many images can be improved even without masks and with the relatively crude curve adjustments of LR.

  • I want to enter the password for a secure WIFI network on several iphones.  If I do this, can the end users somehow extract the ip address and password for the wifi network from the iphone and use it from a pc (at home, for example)?

I want to enter the password for a secured wifi network on several iphones.  If I do this, is it possible for the end users to somehow extract the ip address and password information and use it from a pc/laptop/other mobile device.  For security reasons, I don't want them to be able to to this.
    Please advise,
    Thanks.

If you look at the top left of your screen you will either see a 3G (or 4G if you have AT&T) or you will see the wi-fi symbol.  If you don't see the wi-fi symbol you are connecting to Gmail through your cellular data plan, not via wi-fi.
To answer your question, it doesn't happen often but when it does the steps I mentioned above will normally resolve it.  Hopefully you won't have any further problem with this.

Hello this is happening to us also (minus the Bluetooth speaker).  We can't figure out what is causing the data usage.  I turned off mobile data as soon s I activated the device, and got the message that unless I am connected to WiFi.....(that is exactly what I wanted). We watched Netflix for about three hours, then the alerts started.  Like you we have many devices connected and never used over 2GB now all of a sudden we have used it in a matter of hours.  My husband called Verizon  and got the usual doubting Thomas response.  I understand that they don't know my device settings.  So over the phone we check all the settings and turned  off every possible culprit eating up the data and end the call.  By now I have purchased another gig for the month!  Assured we are NOT using mobile data, we continue on the IE path to bliss.  HA!  A few hours later I check the mobile data usage on the Verizon website and that darn thing is still using data.  After two more phone calls and two VERY uneventful trips to the local store we were told to take out the sim card.  This has stopped the data usage, but it defeats the purpose of having the data plan.  I could have just stuck with my Surface.  Verizon sent us a new sim card.  Its been installed and I have set my homepage to Verizon mobile data usage (just kidding) but I am on that site a lot.   I am surprised at the number of complaints about this device.  When we called the Verizon support acted as though this was the first time they had heard about this.   Loved your post, you should write for a living.
