  • Windows 10 support for HP Envy 15-3040nr?

    Hi,
I have an HP Envy 15-3040nr that is currently running on Windows 7 x64. I was wondering if this computer would be receiving future driver support for Windows 10 when it releases, and whether or not it supports the Technical Preview that is currently avilable to developers under Microsoft's prerelease program. I currently do not have UEFI enabled (which I know is available for my notebook).
This questions arises from the fact that I have read on this forum that multiple owners of the Envy 15 were not able to get drivers working on Windows 8.1, for which HP hasn't formally released drivers for. Will HP make me use Windows 8 drivers on Windows 10?
    Thanks,
    -VivXGamer

  • Is AIX7.1 and MS Windows 2012 supported for JavaCAPS5.1.3 R4 and JavaCAPS 6.3?

    Does AIX 7.1 and MS-WIndows 2012(and cluster) supported for JavaCAPS5.1.3 R4 or JavaCAPS 6.3?

John provides another possible workaround for your issues :

My situation is slightly different. We are upgrading to most recent version of Hyperion in 2012 and are not looking to apply service packs/updates to 9.3.1 in the mean time; however, we needed IE 8. We performed the javascript fixes and our users are able to perform their work just fine.
I would also agree that XP mode is not that answer.
Another option would be to install IETester as it lets you 'convert' your IE browser to be compatible with previous versions.... http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage
Finally, you could have users use Firefox browser as that seems to work; however, it does SOME things differently than IE so you might get some complaints about that.

  • NO WINDOWS 10 SUPPORT FOR ASPIRE V3-471G

How come my Aspire V3-471G is not listed for Windows 10 support? A lesser model V3-371(I3 processor) is supported while mine with i5 and Nvidia graphics is not supported I have joined the Windows Insider and installed windows 10 without any problems. For any required drivers as seen on the Device Manager, I used windows 8 drivers which were available from support site.

I tried installing windows 10 also on my laptop. my laptop is also v3-471g. though it was successful, but my laptop fan has gone crazy... going back to win 7... are there any issues  using win10 on v3-471g?

  • Windows 10 support for g580 ?

    Hello Lenovo,
When do you release drivers for windows 10 on my g580 notebook. I checked everyday and i'm still waiting. I do not mind to wait, but I already installed windows 10 and I found just an issue, wifi stay connect for a short time and then it shows the message "limited" and I have no internet access and I must use the LAN cable every day. It's not a big deal to use the LAN cable, but i'm impatient to solve this problem.
AND more important. Do I ever get support for my laptop? Or it's an old model and I must stay on windows 7..

Its not Lenovos duty to do so, its Intels. And they won´t release Windows 10 drivers for the Tx20 series, so Lenovo won´t either. You can still install Windows 10 though. Works perfect on the T420 we have here.

  • Windows 8 support for iTunes 11

I have seen a bit of concern around iTunes support under Windows 8.
I have updated everything ready to upgrade a Win7 Professional PC to Win8 Pro
I have updated iTunes to 11.0.2 64 bit.
My question is....does the current version of iTunes (i.e. 11.0.2 64 bit) support Windows 8?
I am not doing a clean install of Windows 8, it is not practical at all...upgrade is the only reasonable approach.
I need iTunes for iPad & iPhone so it needs to work under Windows 8 before I upgrade
So would be interested in knowing whether latest version of iTunes does really support Windows 8.
It is a absolute show stopper for upgrading to Windows 8!

Had the same issue on Windows 8.1(x64)  8(x64) 7(x64) and Vista(x86) with the latest iTunes. Removing and Reinstalling all Apple applications did not solve it. After installation and starting iTunes i would just get the end user agreement and then nothing but iTunes.exe process is running as background process without the GUI being displayed. I did notice that after an hour or 2 iTunes would then be open but would immediately freeze when connecting my iPad.
Changed the properties of running iTunes.exe as admin in Win7 compatibilty mode.
So launch iTunes and wait till it eventually opens, do not connect your iOS device right away, but sign in with your Apple ID first.
Open preferences (iTunes seemed to freeze again but preferences window popped up after a couple minutes)
    Unchecked the automatic sync.
After doing that I have been able to connect my iPad which I had already upgraded to iOS7 over the air. Which was risky as I do not have a MAC and iTunes is the only way to perform a restore if the upgrade would have failed.
But still 11.1 seems to be very unstable on Windows, I can imagine that Apple will focus on sorting the bugs in iOS7 for their own devices first but hope they will investigate the issue and come up with a solution later on, as I do think a substantial amount of iTunes for Windows users buy their Music through iTunes and it would not be wise of Apple to leave them in the dark.

  • Windows 10 support for officejet 6700

Is there any HP printer support/drivers for the OfficeJet 6700 for Windows 10 Enterprise?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi,
Windows 10 is still in its beta stage, any drivers will not be provided prior the operating system release.
From my experience the Windows 8.1 drivers should work fine, I suggest giving it a try:

  • Windows 8 support for new users is terrible

I have been using PC's for 20 years.  The Windows 8 user interface has a lot of new features, shortcuts, hand jestures etc.
I recently bought a Lenovo with Windows 8.  It started up fine. but didn't give you any introduction to how to run the interface.  I finally found an introduction to the interace under the te Lenovo Companion tile.  It was called how to Do Windows 8.  The introduction said click "learn more" button for tutrials and info on the Windows 8 interface.
Fine.  The only problem is there was no "Learn More" button.  I finally notice a light blue line was clickable.  This brought up some fairly lame introductory material that dealt with a mouse or touch screen interface, but did not deal at all with the special sections of jestures on the touch pad.
I finally got fed up and called support.  The first level guy new very little and had to look up every question.  For example "I just opened an application.  How do I close it?  After a long delay "Cntl F4".  There must be a more intuitive way, but no answer.  Finally I asked for a supervisor.  I complained about the Windows 8 interface and lack of documentation.  I was given no help or suggestions other than take up my operating system problems with Microsoft and If I didn't like the Lenovo help applications, bring the machine back.
Eventuall I found some documentation on the Web and Windows 8 is not that misterious when you are given a few hints.
Does Lenovo really treat its customers this way?  If so they are on a path to crash and burn along with Microsoft
I think I'll just keep my old Dell Vista computer until it dies.

    Hi,
I believe BOTH microsoft and Lenovo have a responsibility to make their computers useful and accessable to AVERAGE USERS.  You should not have to reseach how to use Windows 8 on the internet to figure how to use the it.
When there is a problem with either the hardware or understanding the Operating System, Lenovo has a reponsibility to help the user.  A lost customer is a lost customer period and blaming it on Microsoft will not help Lenovo.
My specific problems with Lenovo were.
Their description of how to use the operating system was buried as an  option under "Lenovo /Companion".  They should have come up automatically as part of the initial boot up proceedure.
When I found the "How to DO windows 8"  screen, it said click the "Learn More"  button.  There was no "LEARN MORE BUTTON".  Instead I happend to notice a small grey line was a hot spot.  The button did not display for some reason. Don't they test these things.
The tutorials were to small and to fast to actually see what was being done.
The tutorials were made for touch screen or mouse interface.  They were not set up for the touch pad that most people would be using.   They touch pad gestures are helpful once you know them but maddenting when strange things happen and you don't know why.
When I called Lenovo support, the first level support person did not know much about the operating system, he had to look up the answer to every question.   The supervisor was downright rude.
Lenovo and Microsoft must do better if they want to stay competative.

  • Where can I find information if there is going to be Lenovo Windows 8 support for the W510?

Where can I find out if there will be a Lenovo software and drivers pack for Windows 8 for the W510?

    'morning.
keep an eye on this page: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT074688
right now, your W510 is on the 'supported' list. i wouldn't be surprised to see links added to the page pointing to model-specific win8 support pages once the os is generally available.

  • Windows 7 support for Xcelsius 2008

    Hi,
This is to inform that Windows 7 is currently not supported on Xcelsius 2008 SP3.
There are however discussions to be available in the next release.
    Best regards,
    Jenni Jacob

    Hi Jenni,
It's working fine for me on Win7.
You may want to use the XP Compatibilty mode (standard in Win7) or "install/run as administrator".

  • MS Windows 2000 Support for IDM Password Sync Connector

    Hi all,
We have a Domain Controller running on MS Win 2000 and there is no way we can upgrade it right now.
I checked the PWD Sync Connector Doc and it says that it supports only MS Win 2003 and MS Win 2008.
We have to install the Listener on this DC. Is there any alternative or do you think it will work even though it is not supported?
    Thanks,
    M

You do know that MS will hit you with a 10 000 USD per domain controller maintenance fee if you stay on AD 2000 after July 2010?
I have seen the IDM password synch work on AD 2000 but that was in older versions of the connector as well as OIM. Should work but may have issues.
    Best regards

  • Support for XP ends when?

I have been looking for some info on when ZCM support for Windows XP will end? Given the timeframe for 11.3's release, will XP be dropped when 11.3 is released? I seem to remember Windows 2000 being dropped right away when it went out of MS support.
I am trying to get the remaining computers upgraded to Win7 but I am running into to opposition and need as much ammo as I can gather to push the issue - Doctors can be very stubborn.

The reason for dropping Windows 2000 support did not have anything
directly to do with Microsoft Dropping Support. It was the fact ZCM was
moving to a newer, more stable, and more robust version of .NET.
Microsoft never released the newer version of .NET for Windows 2000 and
hence Windows 2000 support for ZCM was no longer possible.
ZCM 11.3 will again be moving to a new version of .NET, but this version
of .NET is available and supported by Windows XP.
Novell has never removed support for an OS within a Service Pack Level
in the past, though some have been ADDED in the past. Traditionally,
support is removed during Service Pack Upgrades and even then it is
    uncommon.
I would not expect Windows XP Support to be removed prior to ZCM 11.4,
which would be a long way off. Even then, I would be quite surprised if
XP support was lost since work on that version is already underway which
means that the technology it uses would be available to XP.
In short, I have not heard of any discussions for the removal of XP
support, the removal of support for an OS any time soon would be a
departure from past ZCM support history, and even the major release
AFTER the soon to be released major update would most likely support XP
    as well.

  • Support for JDeveloper 10.1.3 on Windows Server 2008 64 bit OS

    Hello,
We are using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0 (patch # 9879989) for R12.
Would like to know support for Jdeveloper on windows server 2008 - 64 bit.
    Thanks,
    Swati.

    Hi Swati,
Currently I am using Jdeveloper Patch#9172975 for R12.1.2 on windows server 2008 X64 and it works fine.
As Jdeveloper Patch#9172975 is lower version then Jdeveloper Patch#9879989, Patch#9879989 should work on Windows Server 2008 64bit.
Still I am not confirm about Jdeveloper Patch#9879989 on Windows Server 2008 64bit.
    Thanks,
