Is Windows XP supported, and by which versions of NI-DAQ and LabVIEW?

Which versions of NI-DAQ, LabVIEW, and LabVIEW Run-Time run under Windows XP?

For all Windows/LabVIEW/Toolkits compatibility questions, check out this KnowledgeBase.

  • I have Mac OSX 10.4.11. Every time I try to download Firefox 8, I get a popup that my computer won't support it. Which version should I download, and where can I get lower versions?

Every time I google Firefox 7, Firefox 8 comes up.

Beginning with Firefox 4, Macs must have an Intel x86 processor (which you do have) '''''<u>and</u>''''' OSX 10.5 or higher (you have version 10.4)
    *System Requirements: [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/4.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 4] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/5.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 5] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/6.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 6] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/7.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 7] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/8.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 8]
If you upgrade your OS to 10.5 or greater, you can use the current Firefox version.
'''''The good news''''' is that Firefox 3.6.24 still supports OSX 10.4 and Macs with the PPC Mac architecture. '''''The bad news''''' is that support for the Firefox 3.6.x series is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.

  • Communicate between C# window application and Labview.

    Hello all!
Now what I shall do is to use both labview application and C# window application for my project. Basically it's that the state change in labview triggers an event in C#. As a short description, my labview application receives UDP message from an external device and shows them on the front panel. I'd like that when the received message reaches for example 10, the C# application is triggered to implement a switch.
I got the idea to use .Net object in labview, a constructor node to get a reference to my C# app, and in my C# app expposing public methods telling the app something happened in the LV app. I think that would help but I don't know how.
Anybody could give me an example of that. The importance for me is to know how should I set the constructor node in labview, and what is to add in C#, like "using labview" in the header.
    Thanks in advance!
    Chao

Once you constructed the .NET parent object (the one which provides the access to your "reaction code"), you can use invoke and/or property nodes to call into the .NET assembly.
So if your object exposes a method which should be called once you hit 10 samples, you simply count the number of samples available in LV and once 10 are available, you use an invoke node to call the appropriate method.
There are a bunch of examples provided with LV, for instance one called "Task Monitor Using .NET Objects".

  • Satellite M70-122 - Which version of Windows XP do I need?

I want to download Windows XP Home Edition. Which version do I need (OEM, Retail) that have passed activation?
At the back of the laptop in the certificate reads:
    Windows XP Home Russian 672
    and product key
    XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XX320

    Hi
Yes, the retail version of Windows must be activated.
In your case I would take a Toshiba recovery disk. If you dont have one, you can buy one from an authorized service provider. Its cheaper as a retail version and there are already all drivers and tools preinstalled.
There you can also disable the devices that you dont need.

  • Which version of Windows 7?

I'm getting ready to upgrade my system. I'll be purchasing Windows 7 but not sure which version to purchase (Home, Pro, Ultimate)
    Here's my current setup:
    Win XP
    CS4 Master Collection
    4GB RAM
    250GB hard drive
    Core 2 Duo 32-bit CPU
Here's the upgrade I'm going to:
    Windows 7
CS4 Master Collection (within 6 months upgrading to CS5 Master)
    8GB RAM
    1TB hard drive
    Core 2 Quad 64-bit CPU
I know I'm not upgrading to the latest/greatest processor but this is where my budget is limited and core 2 quad will work fine for now.
I will buy a full Windows version (not upgrade) and do a clean install on the new hard drive. Which Windows 7 should I purchase?
    Thanks for the suggestions!

It will be mostly graphic design & book publishing projects. Also very simple motion graphics projects as well. Forgot to add the MS Ofc products will be there as well.
I was leaning toward getting professional in case I have some apps still wanting to use XP(??).
    Thanks for your suggestion.

A small window will pop up showing which version you have.
You can also use Software Update to see if you need to update QT.

  • Windows 7 support  UEFI

When looking at what Macs got *+official support Windows 7+*
Pivots on EFI (no support) or UEFI 2.x (supported)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3920
Same was true with with Vista 64-bit.

Apple adopted Intel's EFI in 2006 (the Macs that don't get official Windows 7 support) and UEFI in early 2008.
A better boot manager and other changes I'm sure, not just a new set of drivers though, even those are also critically needed.

  • Can I install an older version of traditional DAQ that support legacy DAQ with DAQmx for support of a new card?

I have a LabPC+ that works fine, but is not supported in the latest versions of NI DAQ.  I also have a 6024E that I would like to use.  I know that the version of DAQ that supports the LabPC+ also supports that 6024E, but I would prefer to use the latest DAQmx with this.  Is this possible?

    Hi Brain:
Doesn't look like it, the PC+ will only go up to 6.9.3 tradition DAQ
    http://www.ni.com/support/daq/versions_legacy.htm
while the 6024E will go up to 7.4.1 traditional or 7.5mx or 8.0mx, dependiong on OS.
    http://www.ni.com/support/daq/versions_pci_pxi.htm
I assumed these cards were PCI based.
I am not a DAQ expert, so hopefully someone can verify this.

  • Which versions of Windows 7/8 are supported/best for Boot Camp 4/5?

    Hello
As the title suggests, I'm a bit confused as to which versions of Windows 7 work with Boot Camp 4, or whichever ships with Mountain Lion (which one, 4 or 5, comes with ML 10.8.3?).
Mainly, I want to know if I can use an OEM copy, and what difference it makes to me, the end user, as opposed to a full license disk. Additionally, which service packs are supported? Eg, SP1 or SP2 or ...?
Lastly, and this is more of an opinion question, but is Windows 7 or 8 better suited to a Mac? I have 2.5 GHz i5 processor, 8GB RAM, ML 10.8.3, Macbook Pro 13-inch Mid-2012.

You can get a better idea of which version are supported by each Boot Camp version in this website > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
In general, Boot Camp 4 supports 32-bit Windows XP, and 32 and 64-bit Windows Vista and 7, and Boot Camp 5 supports 64-bit Windows 7 and 8 versions (in compatible computers).
You can use a OEM or System Builder license, always that you have bought it from a source like Amazon or NewEgg. If you are trying to use the copy you got from another PC, it won't work. Boot Camp supports Windows XP SP2 and later, so all service packs released after it are supported.
Windows 8 has been out for a few months and it has got a new interface. If you don't want to learn a new interface, go for Windows 7. Both versions will work properly on your computer, so it's a matter of personal choices

I think you mean Photoshop CS2.  Photoshop 2 is from around 1992.  The old Adobe activation servers were taken down. CS2 is about a decade old Adobe made a new download for old customers that legal customers can download and install. Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products
