Is WPA supported on SP 2100?

I want WPA for my SP 2100 but i (have only WEP) havent any drivers. Can you help me? I have an Intel Pro Adapter but the drivers from intel doesnt work. Thx

Hi
Unfortunately, I dont think that a new driver will solve your issue.
If this card doesnt support the WPA encryption so also a new driver will not change your situation. It depends on the hardware and not on the software (driver)

  • Did 10.4.4 break WPA support?

I just bought a D-Link DGL-4300 wireless 108G router. All the Windows-based laptops I have in my home connect flawlessly to the router via WPA2-AES Pre-Key. The only way I can get my powerbook to connect wirelessly to the router is via WEP, which is unacceptable due to its security risks.
Does anyone know whether 10.4.4 broke the WPA/WPA2 support in Tiger or if I am doing something wrong? I would greatly appreciate all the help I can get with this.
    Thank you for your time.

My ibook uses OSX 10.4.4 and connects without a problem to WPA and WPA2 networks.
I would suggest you delete all references to your wifi network in your keychain utility.
Then remove the wifi network if setup in your list of preferred networks in your airport network preferneces.
Also scan the area with a sniffer such as kismac to see if there are no other wireless networks using the same chanel as you are thus creating a conflict.
Then try reconnection to your wpa2 network.

  • WPA support on old (Summer 2000) iMac

I'm trying to long distance troubleshoot a problem my father is having getting an old iMac (G3-500Mz, Summer 2000) onto his new Airport Express network.
He has his newer, Intel iMac connected wirelessly no problem and is running WPA encryption. When I tried to walk him through getting the old iMac online (OS X 10.4) he gets and error message that says something useless like "there's a problem connecting".
I have this idea that the wireless card in the old iMac doesn't support WPA and that's the source of the problem. I suggested turning off the encryption completely to test my theory, but he's afraid he'll not be able to get his new Mac working again (he was so happy to get it up and working so quickly). There's no convincing him to run my little troubleshooting experiment. And, he intent on using WPA now that I've told him it's more secure than WEP.
Anyway, I've looked through Apple's specs and manuals and have not been able to determine if the Airport card of that vintage supports WPA. Does anyone here know if it will support WPA?
    Thanks in advance.

Wow, that was quick. Thanks for the response, Tesserax.
Now I need to scratch my head a bit more about what else might be causing the problem. I could probably solve it in short order if I was on site, but as it is, he's 1500 miles away and I'm troubleshooting by phone. I don't know whose patience will run out first.
The old iMac can see the network and he gets the prompt for the password when he tries to connect, but after 30 seconds or so, he gets the message that it can't connect. The old iMac is right next to the new one and both are within 10 feet of the Airport hub.
    Any ideas?

  • WPA support?

    Hi,
I own a Powerbook 1.5Ghz Aluminum. Does my airport card support WPA encryption? If not, can that airport card be upgraded? I'm hoping it does, so I don't have to worry about the upgrade. I recently heard that WPA is much better and more secure than WEP, so just need to make sure my PB can support that security.
    Thanks;
    J.

Hi, John. Yes, your Airport Extreme card supports WPA and WPA2.

Interestingly, I have a Lumia 520 also which works perfectly fine on 3G network in Asia. So, if both 520 and 521 are based on the same hardware, why shouldn't 521 work on 2100 network outside US.
Because the 520 is a global variant while it seems the 521 is exclusive to T-Mobile US only

You don't need any drivers, they're built in already.

  • WET200 no WPA available

    Hi,
I recently bought a WET200 to bridge between a pair of WET11's. The arrangement is working fine EXCEPT I bought the WET200 with a plan to replace the pair of WET11's with WET54 bridges. The problem is that despite the user manual showing screenshots of configuring WPA, the selection is not available in the dropdown list that is in the Wireless Tab under "Wireless Security" on my WET200 unit. The only option (other than disabled) is WEP (which is what I am currently using). The WET200 is running the latest firmware (1.0.13).
Is there a problem with WPA support on WET200 bridges? Has anyone gotten WPA to work on a WET200?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
As Jeff said the WET200 does support WPA.  Since you are not seeing it as an option I would try these two things first.  If you updated the firmware to its latest version I would factory default the device then go back into the interface of your WET200 to see if the option now shows up.  If it does not I would once again to try reinstall the lastest firmware, reboot it and then check to see if the option shows.  If it

  • Palm Wi-Fi card and WPA

Hello all,  I run WPA encryption on my home LAN, and cannot get my Tungsten E2 to connect, My question is: Is there any firmware updates for the Palm Wi-Fi card or palm software that will enable WPA support for my E2.  Also WEP is not an option.
    Thanks
    Mike
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

As far as I know Palm's Wifi card when used in a PalmOS device does not support WPA.
There was an update quite a while ago to add WPA capability to TX (which has built-in WiFi) but that's where it stops.

  • WPA for Portege 2000

    Hi,
is it possible to connect to an WLAN Access Point with WPA-Decryption?
With Standard drivers and original firmware for the portege 2000 i get the message that only WEP is supported. The message also says, that it could be possible there is a firmware upgrade to get WPA support.
    Is such an upgrade available?
    Thx tywoX

    Hi
I am pretty sure that WPA is not supported. Check on Wireless properties. If WPA option is not listed than there is no support.

  • Intel Pro wireless 3945ABG and WPA 2 Question

I see that Intel says this adapter is compatible with WPA2 but I can only find WPA support in the Lenovo driver download.  Without WPA2 AES I can't connect this laptop to many of the newer N wireless routers.  Has anyone found a driver that support WPA 2?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Welcome to the forum!
I'm not sure I quite understand your dilemma...any Lenovo driver for this card will enable the type of encryption that you're looking for...typing this on a X60s with the exact same card and connected to the WPA-PSK network...
I'm using Windows to configure my networks, not Access Connections.
    Cheers,
