NO, the license for that version of BI Publisher does NOT allow you to use it with external tools.... You would be better off getting a new licensed version for your APEX install...

XML Publisher Report Finished in Warning 11i EBS HRMS

Hi there
I have developed XML Publisher Report using Developer 6i Data Module, this report works fine for specific sets of records. but When I run this report for All Companies This Report Finished in Warning.
Note: XML Data is generated in this report I can see the XML Data in explorer.
This report is for Oracle 11.5.10.2 (HRMS)

AND When I load this XML file into Template at MS Word, I loaded Successfully and When I try to get the PREVIEW, I GET the following ERROR

Is the XML file Complete with all tags closed? Issues with Oracle prevent the completion of the XML file. It truncates in between and hence is not parsed successfully by the XML Template.
Also, try setting the following to 'TRUE' under XML Publisher Administrator>Administration Tab
1) Use XML Publisher's XSLT processor.
2) Enable scalable feature of XSLT processor.
3) Enable XSLT runtime optimization.

XML Publisher 5.6.0 patch on EBS 11.5.10.2 with 10G DB

Hi All,
I am trying to apply XML Publisher 5.6.0 patch to get the Executable XDODTEXE.
I followed the meta link ID 337999.1.
According to the ID I applied 4561451 patch and followed post patching steps.
After applying patch I am able to see the XML publisher version in the database but I am not able to open EBS login page.I checked in access.log,error.log.I didn't get any specific error.
Please guide me which document I have to follow to get Executable XDODTEXE.

High Availability for EBS Database 11gR2

Hello Gurus,
We have the below environment:
Oracle Applications - 12.1.3
Oracle Database - 11.2.0.3
OS - Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.7
I would like to know how to achieve high availability for the database. We don't want to go with RAC at this stage. What are the other alternatives to achieve high availability at the database side.

XML publisher report not generating output for huge XML files

Changed Depreciation Projections Report output type to XML.
Defined a Data Definition and a new Data Template (RTF) for this report.
Ran the Depreciation Projection Report to generate the XML output.
Ran the XML Report Publisher report to generate teh PDF/Excel output of the above report.
Output generated for smaller XML files. When XML size is big, the program is running for hours without generating the output.
Teh RTF template is basically a matrix report in which the number of columns in the report is based on the number of periods the report is run for.
The same is not working in the Desktop version also. The system is hanging when i try to view the preview pdf.
The XML file size is approximately 33 MB.
Please let me know if there is any way we can increase the memory size to see the output.

Hi, I was looking at all the announcements made yesterday and I was wondering if the new version of XML Publisher (5.6.3) is included in EBS 12?
I didn't see any news regarding this so I'm guessing no.
Anyway I need the standalone version but some of the features described in some earlier threads looked very interesting for what we need to do.
Any news for when the next version is due out?

Will 5.6.3 be made available for eBS 11i? Is the version number going to change for eBS to be inline with BI Publisher?
When I look at the release notes for R12 (via note: 404152.1 - Apps Technology RCD) the features described look like what is currently available in 5.6.2. Is there a note that lists the new features in 5.6.3?

EBS XML Publisher default tamplates missing

In my EBS 12.1.1 instance, under XML publisher administrator, when i search for default templates, it is not showing me anything. Am i missing any setup?

Is this a fresh installation? Were you able to view the templates before?
Please see if any of these docs is applicable.

Java error in xml publisher report

Hi All,
While running the xml publisher repoert thru Concurrent Program in EBS 11 i get the following error :-
Oracle XML Publisher 5.6.3 java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "NCRX" at java.lang.NumberFormatException.forInputString(NumberFormatException.java:48) at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Integer.java:447) at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Integer.java:497) at oracle.apps.xdo.oa.cp.JCP4XMLPublisher.runProgram(JCP4XMLPublisher.java:214) at oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request.Run.main(Run.java:161)
What's the above error about. My XML source is RDF. Please suggest what could be the problem.

Did you get it while creating a template from the Word-Addin? Just close MS Word and then log back in and see whether it works. If you are on 10.1.3.2 then go to Start->Program Files->Oracle Business Intelligence -> Template Builder for Word and set the language to en-US. Your error could be because of a MS patch. If you set the language that should make it work.

Is XML Publisher causing shared memory problem..?

Hi Experts,
Since this week, many of the Requisition/PO are erroring out with the below errors or similar to these errors:
- ORA-04031: unable to allocate 15504 bytes of shared memorny ("sharedpool","PO_REQAPPROVAL_INIT1APPS","PL/SQL MPCODE","BAMIMA: Bam Buffer")
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called.
-Error Name WFENG_COMMIT_INSIDE
3146: Commit happened in activity/function
'CREATE_AND_APPROVE_DOC:LAUNCH_PO_APPROVAL/PO_AUTOCREATE_DOC.LAUNCH_PO_APPROVAL'
Process Error: ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called
Few days back we were getting heap memory error for one of the XML Publisher report.
I heard that XML Publisher requires lot of memory for sources/features,So I want to know whether XML Publisher can be one of the cause for memory problem to occur or this shared memory is not related with XML Publisher sources at all.
Please advice.

As I am a beginner in this so dont know much about this.. Can you please guide me on this.
DBAs has increased the shared memory and problem has resolved but here I am more concrened whether the XML Publisher was or can be one od the cause for shared memory problem. Is there any way to check that or this occurs randomly and we can not check this.
Please advice something.

Using XML Publisher with plsql package data source?

Hi,
I have a html gantt chart which i create using a plsql package and the use of the htp.p procedure for output to a webpage.
I want to be able to print this to PDF and was hoping the XML Publisher may be an option for doing this. The datasource for this however seems to be a sql query or XML feed.
Can anyone provide any suggestions on this??

With a Pipelined Table Function you can use a function in your FROM-clause (so you'll have a normal SELECT, but in the background the data comes from a PL/SQL-function):

If you are Oracle user then I would highly recommend you that you get this
file from oracle support as it is the official source of information.
I can see there is a patch 5887917 which gives you BIP Desktop 10.1.3.2 which is compatible
with XMLP 5.6.3 plus additional functionality which are only applicable to the stand alone version
of BI Publisher and are not intended for use with Ebusiness Suite.
