Is your GPS position 50-100 meters off center?

For some reason, my GPS position is always 100 meters too far East. Anyone else have this problem?
Can I calibrate it so I can shift the GPS position West 100 meters?
Would the "Altitude Calibration" option in the GPS Data->Options help?
The GPS position on the Map is constantly jumping off the road and thinking I am on a side road or driving through houses or bush.
I am in Sydney Australian and downloaded the Eastern AUS maps through Map Loader, I was told we use WG584 or AUS66 or AUS84 GPS tracking in Sydney. Where can I set this up?

It seems that us in AUS/NZ need to configure the GPS so it uses AUS66 or AUS84 Datum, which I think is what our local Maps use. Since the N95 uses the new WG584 Datum, it does not align us properly to our older AUS66 or AUS84 based maps, causing our maps to be about 100m-200m too far East
"If you intend to use this technique ensure that your GPS is set to the global WGS84 datum, not one of the older local Australian datum's such as AUS66 or AUS84 upon which many existing maps are based. WGS84 is the standard for GPS and if you select another datum, the GPS does the conversion internally."
http://www.cavedivers.com.au/articles/mapping.htm
More info - Google Search:
http://www.google.com.au/search?q=AUS66+AUS84&btnG=Search&hl=en
Now the question is, can we set our N95 to use AUS66 or AUS84 ?
Or do Nokia need to update our Maps to align with WGS84?

I have an IPad mini WiFi (not cellular) and an IPhone 5. I use the bluetooth connection between both devices when on the road. I downloaded a navigation system on my IPad using GPS positioning. Is the Bluetooth connection working to use GPS positioning on the IPad using IPhone 5 as the hotspot?

There is no mobile data connection required to use GPS on land or sea. Once again your issue is the availability of downloadable maps/charts for the areas you will be traveling.
Sorry, but you can't install an app like NAVIGON on an iPad without 3G cellular data connection:
    copied from NAVIGON app:
...can be installed on any iPhone3GS, iPhone4, iPhone4S, iPhone5 or iPad device (the navigation function is only available on the iPad WiFi+3G)
Can I navigate with my mobile phone?
Answer:In principle yes. For mobile phones there are both Onboardnavigation solutions and Offboardnavigation solutions.
The following requirements must be fulfilled:
    •     The software must support the mobile phone. NAVIGON software
always comes with a compatibility list. The software is guaranteed
to work only for the mobile phones on this list.
    •     The mobile phone must have a GPS receiver. Many new mobile
phones come with a built-in GPS receiver. Otherwise you can use
an external GPS receiver which is connected to the mobile phone
           by cable or Bluetooth.
    •     It should be noted that an offboard solution incurs costs for using
the mobile phone network to communicate with the provider's server.

  • Position of component buttons off artboard

Does Flash Catalyst support positioning of component buttons off the artboard? I have an image that I would like to scroll with a vertical scroller and then embed external url click links. The page that I'm working on is here in the portfolio section:
    http://facetmedia.com/new/
The image is scrolling but the buttons are locked in one position. Any help on making the buttons scroll with the image would be appreciated.

    Hi trancepriest,
Can you give us some additional info on how you've structured your Catalyst project?  The scrolling area is a Data List, I assume.  If you double-click to edit the list and then double-click again to edit the Repeated Item, what do you see?  If you place both an image and your row of buttons inside here, then each image and its corresponding buttons should scroll in lockstep together.
Or do you only want one set of buttons total, not one per image?  If so, I'm confused about the behavior you're looking for -- if the buttons are not associated with any one specific image, which image would they sit on top of / next to?

  • Quickly extract GPS positioning data from an Image?

    Hi --
Is there any way to quickly extract the GPS positioning data (lat, long) for a Image in Aperture -- or, equivalently, open a Google Maps page in a Web browser showing the location?
    I tried:
    - every menu related to Places I could find
    - copying the info in the lat and long fields (can't be selected)
    - copying the info from the Lift & Stamp HUD (also can't be selected).
I'm sure I'm missing something obvious.
    Thanks.

    Hi Kirby,
maybe one of my Automator Actions can help, until you have abetter solution:
    http://dreschler-fischer.de/scripts/PrintFullImageInfo.workflow.zip
This workflow needs to be installed in your user library, "Services" folder and will write selected metadata tags to a textfile.
    To use it,
select the images in Aperture's browser,
Use Aperture > Services > PrintFullImageInfo
When the service runs, it will prompt for the name of a textfile.
    Regards
    Léonie
You should find something similar to this in the textfile:
    Version Name: P1040669
       Dimensions: 1920x2560
Image Date: Monday, 6 March 2006Monday 2:10:58 PM

  • N8 - Web site and GPS Positioning

How do I allow a website to use the phones gps to locate me on a map. Can I allow specific websites or the browser in general to use the gps positioning.
Or is there some way that I can turn on the phones gps manually when the website asks?

The website I’m talking about is m.fisketegn.dk which is a danish fishing website. I push the map icon which you can see in attachment 1. It is then suppose to show my location on a map so that I can see if I’m fishing in a spot I’m not allowed to fish. But when I push the icon the pop up in attachment 2 shows up which says “You must activate the phone’s Gps/Wlan positioning to show map with your location” but when I push OK nothing happens. The Gps does not activate and it does not show my location on the map.
I’m not getting a pop up which asks if I allow it to access positioning data. That’s what happens on my brother’s Iphone. He clicked Ok to that and then it worked. I thought that I could find that in the settings somewhere so that I could allow that. I can’t remember if I at some point on some other website clicked No to allow it to access positioning data, but if I did I must be able to change that somehow. I know that I have not clicked No on this particular website. By the way I’m using the native browser.
I just tried it on Opera Mobile and it asked for permission to use positioning data but it only appears to use Wlan and not the Gps. But it does show my location on the map. But if it only uses Wlan and not the gps then the location is not accurate enough.

  • Reg : Relation between Atonomous GPS positioning and Network carrier Blackberry 9630

    Hi,
In my organization we are using Blackberry 9630 mobiles for person tracking. My application requests Location updates for every 15 secs. Some times My application is not getting GPS Position for hours. For other Blackberry mobiles (9300,8900,8820,8310) it is working fine.I googled this problem, some people linking this issue with Network carrier .Please tell me what is the Relation between  Atonomous GPS positioning  and Network carrier .
    Mobile : Blackberry 9630 CDMA
    O.S 5.0
    GPS Mode : GPS Satellites
    Thanks and Regards
    P.Ramkumar.

    Hi ramkumar
This could be related to Cell Site Location services.  Some wireless providers use triangulation with their wireless towers to provide an approximate location.  This location is not typically accurate within a couple kilometers.  The BlackBerry will use Cell Site Location if it is unable to retrieve a GPS location.
You will have to consult with your wireless provider to determine if its supported.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Currently the inbuilt feature in SAP allows us to allocate a person to multiple positions even beyond 100%.
I want to allot a person to multiple positions upto 100% only, How can I RESTRICT the system from allocating to more than 100% for multiple positions. Thanks,

Hi there.  It looks like you might be able to do this through relationships.  In the IMG, go to Personnel Management --> Organizational Management --> Basic Settings --> Data Model Enhancement --> Relationship Maintenance --> Maintain Relationships.  Check the help for this node.  It sounds like you can change time constraints and weighting options here.  Unfortunately I don't have authorization for this node in our system, so I can't look at the actual transaction that it takes you to.  I hope this helps.

  • Never can obtain GPS Position

I just got my Nokia 6700 Classic and I wanted for an hour and the phone is still waiting for GPS Position! I used to have Eten X500 Windows Mobile PDA phone with 10 to 30 sec I am able to obtain the GPS Position even in my home. Is there any solution for my Nokia 6700 Classic GPS capability? Nokia pls help!

Thank you aspergerguy for the link. My issue unfortunately is not with disabling the A-GPS, but how to get a location after.
I've disabled a-gps and any network access, but cannot get a GPS location using the Ovi Maps software. I only get the message "waiting for GPS position" but even after an hour I don't get a lock on my position. I've tried all the usual:
    - placing the phone in the open
    - not touching the phone while searching as not to disrupt the GPS tracker
but no matter what I do, the phone can't find my possition.
I am using the latest version available on Nokia Ovi Suite software and have the corresponding maps installed for my region.
Unfortunately there aren't a lot of options left, except that the internal GPS is not functioning. I was hoping there was something else I could try...

  • Do the iPhone 4 give the gps position over personal hotspot to an iPad 2 wifi only?

    Hello
I want to buy an iPad 2 wifi only.
I have already an iPhone 4.
Do the iPhone 4 give the gps position over personal hotspot to an iPad 2 wifi only?
So I don't need to buy a iPad 2 wifi+3G only for the GPS.
    Thanks.

I have a WiFi only iPad1. I use a Verizon MIFI 2200 hotspot device that is about the size of a larger, thicker credit card. It easily fits into a shirt pocket. It does not connect to the iPad by any cable whatsoever. It is a free standing device. You can connect up to five devices at a time with the 2200. However, like any cell phone, 3G, wireless connection like this, in some areas the reception/connection is great - in other places - not so much. Sort of the anti - "can you hear me now?"
