  • HP Envy 700-214 desktop drivers not ready for Windows 10 Prime Time

Really disappointed in HP for not being ready for W10 rollout.  I upgraded my HP Envy desktop PC 700-214 and after the upgrade, I could not connect to the internet.  Didn't recognize the networking hardware.  Went to HP Support (on different computer) and found out here aren't W10 drivers yet for this machine.  Very Poor.My wife has a Dell laptop and we have another older Dell that upgraded no problem.  Why because Dell is on top of their $__t when it comes to this stuff.Won't by HP again.

Also with the lastest Windows HP will probably not support redoing drivers for older system as that will be cost prohibited to do. And it will be up to the Endusers to find the right drivers and software that matches their system to work with Windows 10 assuming they work with Windows 10. As to Dell that is something only Dell can answer that question and since we don't know if this is Dell Consumer or Business product since this falls outside of HP forums to discuss. You can't expect to have drivers if your system is too old to support Windows 10.

  • Getting windows 8.1 apps ready for Windows 10?

My current windows 8.1 apps seem to work on the latest Windows 10 I have on my Surface. Just seems to be one problem and that is that Win 10 has no charms. MS always insisted that Privacy policy shows from the Charms and I also put my Help files there.
Does this mean that to sell Win 8.1 apps for Win 10 one will have to add new links to privacy and in my case help files?
    Many thanks

  • Is your network ready for wearables?

When it comes to mobile apps for your company -- you can build them yourself, have a third party build them or you can buy them.
All good options but survey results say that 65% of those who are most satisfied with their mobile program, develop their mobile apps internally. https://www.apperian.com/2015-executive-enterprise-mobility-report/

Something to keep in mind. Apple pushed the SL out about a month earlier. A lot of developers are scrambling to get their apps updated. So before you install the SL you may want to make sure that the apps you use or need are ready.
This is why a backup of the previous OS is always a good thing to do, and, IMO, a requirement.

  • Is Sprout ready for Windows 10?

Windows 10 is coming along soon... how prepared is Sprout to support the upgrade?

What a great question!!  You're reading my mind.
I'm using Windows 10 tech preview on a $200 laptop(I wouldn't dare risk it with Sprout).  I was moderately worried about Sprout until the most recent Windows 10 update appeared:  now I'm really worried.
Microsoft is still messing around with W10, so it really is too early to make too many guesses, but hopefully HP is getting a lot of information from Microsoft so they can start thinking.
The latest version of the laptop/desktop version of Windows 10 has one screen, basically.  The one screen is the desktop.  The Windows 8.1 Start Screen is gone.  Instead there is a Start menu on the desktop that does some of the same things that the Start Screen did and some of the things that Windows 7(!!) did.
Sprout is somewhat confusing now as to how it uses the desktop and Start screens, but Windows 10 may confuse the Sprout programmers and requrie a lot of tap dancing.
What worries me most about going to Windows 10 with Sprout is access to Windows apps on the mat.  Now, you can access Start Screen apps on the mat, but little of the desktop.  I would like to see all apps available on the mat, but I'm worried that Windows 10 may preclude running any Windows apps on the mat.
If you know what I mean...

  • Itunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Iphone 4S not recognized in Windows and Itunes

I recently installed itunes 11.1.4 on my Windows 7 (64) laptop computer and my iphone 4S was no longer recognized in Windows or itunes. Previous versions of itunes had worked with no problems with this combination. I completely uninstalled itunes, apple software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour and apple application support and restarted the computer. When I attached the iphone, it was recognized by Windows. I reinstalled itunes only to find the iphone was no longer recognized in Windows or itunes again. When viewing the device in Device Manager, I discovered the yellow exclamation mark and proceeded to attempt to update the driver. Windows reported that it "cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device." Repeated the uninstall and reinstall process with a new download of the itunes installer which produced the same result. Need help resolving this problem because I need to sync data on phone with data on computer.

    Hello JHHamlin,
Go through the section 5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed from the link below
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538
Go through the above link in the sections which I am mentioning below and see if it fixes your issue.
    > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8
    * Reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Driver
    * In the Device Manager window, right-click Universal Serial Bus controllers and choose Scan for hardware changes from the shortcut menu.
    * Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver> Browse my computer for driver software> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer> Click the Have Disk button.
    * Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
    * Double-click the "usbaapl" file
    * Click Open in the Have Disk window. Then, click Next and then Click Finish. Windows will install the driver.

  • I Tunes for Windows 7, Compatibility Issues

When I try to download I Tunes it states it has downloaded successfully. However, I have no sound when I am in this application. In addition, when I try to open I Tunes I get the message that it has been set to a previous version of Windows, and for best results I need to turn off compatibility mode before opening I Tunes. How do I do that? Can anyone tell me how I can download this program successfully? It has been very frustrating as it appears to not be compatibile with Windows 7.

With that, let's first try the suggestions from the following document. *(Make sure that all of the boxes in the Compatibility tab are unchecked,* not just the compatibility mode setting itself.)

If you're still getting the compatibility mode message even though you have all the boxes unchecked in the Compatibility tab, you may have an errant setting in your registry. For Windows 7 troubleshooting advice on that possibility, see RandomBehavior's post in the following thread:

  • Staroffice 8 updated ready for download date

When will be available for download the staroffice 8 updated so you don`t have to download the program and the update as separate files?

Yes. Open the App Store log in to your Apple ID, then purchase and download Lion. Note that the download is nearly 4 GBs so it will take quite a while. After it finishes downloading the installer launches automatically, so you should have your computer ready for the installation by doing this first:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • Status ready for pickup but item is not in store??

Pre-ordered Hardline Deluxe (PS4).  My order details says it's ready to be picked up in store (Montebello, CA - 1537).  I go to the store location and the sales rep says they haven't recieved any Deluxe Editions.  I was instructed to return later or Friday. (3 days from now). How does this happen with a pre-order?
I called another location and they have received their allotment of Deluxe Editions (Glendora, CA).
Should I cancel my current order and try another location?
Is it possible to transfer the purchase to the Glendora, CA location and have them save a copy for me for pickup?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hello ZiGMoN,
I’m not much of a gamer myself, but my younger brother sure is, and he is quite excited to get his hands on Battlefield Hardline Deluxe. It’s all he can talk about, so I know he’d be devastated if didn’t get his copy on release day.  There are times when circumstances outside of our control can cause unexpected delays though, and I’m sorry to hear this might have been the case for you.
To see if I might be able to honor your request and modify your order for in-store pickup at our Glendora, CA store, I pulled up your account using the information attached to your forum profile. Thankfully, I see your concerns reached our phone customer care team, and they successfully changed the store location attached to your order. As such, I’m happy to report that our Glenda location has your order ready for pickup.  While we should be able to hold your order until March 25th, please feel free to visit the store at your earliest convenience.
If you have any further questions or concerns for us, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’ll be glad to help.
    Best wishes,

  • Compaq Presario SR2129UK bios update for windows 8 pro 32bit

    Hi all.
I have recently upgraded my operating system from Windows 7 pro to Windows 8 pro. I have alos changed the CPU to a pentium D, The power supply and the graphics card but I am having from with my SD ram and temperature displays.
I want to upgrade my bios if possible due to all the upgrades, when I looked in this site it doesn't mention windows 8 operating system with my PC? My system info is below.
Compaq Presario SR2129UK bios update for windows 8 pro 32bit.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi:
The only BIOS update for your model is for Windows Vista (v5.23).
There aren't any newer BIOS releases than that one.
You would need to be running Windows Vista in order to update the BIOS, or you would run a better than 99% chance of completely wrecking your PC.
