Is your printer connected

Adobe documents won't print.   I'm so cross I could bite the dog.  I have recently updated the adobe reader to 8.3.1, Im running windows xp and have an awesome old printer Hp deskjet 880c.  Everything has been tickety boo until I did the latest upgrade, now I can only print documents from email if its word or similar . I've reinstalled the printed, snarled at my husband and called the adobe people some names that I'd be embarrassed if I was heard.  Help I've had it!!! how do I uninstall the latest upgrade - give me back  my old easy to  use adobe, it worked every time.   Im going to have a drink while I calm down - please help  xxx

What exactly happens when you are trying to print?  Do you get any messages?
Also, is there any reason why you use such an old Reader version?  Have you tried if Reader 9.x, 10.x or 11.x works better?
If you want to revert to an even older version, what version was it that worked normally for you?

  • HP C4580: Communication Failure: The computer is no longer able to communicate with your printer.

    Hi,
After having successfully set up the C4580 and run some test printouts which were all very satisfactory, this morning the above message appeared.
The error message box suggests to "Turn the printer off, check your printer connections and check for printer errors, and turn the printer back on."
I tried this, but I'm still unable to print. Any suggestions? By the way my computer is a Mac if this helps.
    Many thanks

I was only able to print one page and then both my printer and my computer would display an error message about the printer's inability to print.  Since then I've been able to resolve my specific problem.
    I
    1. uninstalled HP from my computer (checked to ensure that my printer was no longer visible in my printers and the HP Utility software was nowhere to be found),

  • Windows 7 and windows 8 desktop wired and 7510e printer connected to win 7 wireless

I have a windows 7 64 bit HPavilion Elite 150f desktop set up wired with a 7510e photosmart printer connected to it wireless, now I  have purchased a windows 8 desktop HP envy 700-019 desktop.
When I set up my new windows 8 desktop I  just plugged it into my wireless router/modem combo and it found my printer and I could just print from it, I did not download any software or drivers for my printer or set up a home group as I was not sure how to set it up but last night I tried to set up a homegroup,
I used my wireless network key and entered it and pressed connect, then I entered the Homegroup password that was downloaded for me from Microsoft, but my windows 7 says homegroup and my windows 8 shows private network so I am not sure what I have done wrong, I chose to only share music and printers, can anyone tell me how to do this correctly as I am not sure that I have done it properly.
On my windows 8 I can go to my printers web site by entering the static IP address that cloud support set up for me and it shows as connected but I do not want to enter any printer code as that is already set up on my windows 7, I can also scan to email on my windows 8 but I am not sure what if any security I have on my windows 8. The last time I had a homegroup set up I payed someone to do it for me so I did it by guess work more than anything, if someone can lead me through it step by step I would appreciate it.

    Hi @emma22
I would like to do my best to help, but please bear in mind the issue you are expressing is an inquiry for Microsoft not HP. I did find something I think will be most helpful, and I hope it resolves the issue, but if the issue persists, or you have additional questions, it might be best to reach out to the Microsoft community.
Here is what I found; HomeGroup from start to finish.
In the top right hand corner of the article, you can change it from WIndows 7 to Windows 8. I hope this helps.

  • How to install driver on a 64 bit system to access a networked printer connected to a 32 bit pc?

Did a clean install of 64 bit Windows 7 and tried to connect to Deskjet printer connected to a 32 bit Windows 7 system on home network. Said to install from Windows installation DVD but no such animal on DVD. HP error only talked about USB connection and said nothing about network. Hookup worked fine when everything was 32 bit.
    This question was solved.

Sorry, that wasn't clear at all. I would use the 64 bit machine to go on the internet and download the latest 64 bit driver for the printer. Just run the setup on the 64 bit machine and I believe it will give you the option to search for a shared printer.  You must use the 64 bit version of the printer driver on the 64 bit machine.  The driver is just telling the 64 bit machine how to communicate with the printer no matter where it is.

  • Can't find printer connected by ethernet through airport extreme.  All I get is a generic error message - I'm using printer IP address as address.

Old imac using snow leopard printed just fine to Ricoh cl2000n printer that is connected to airport extreme via ethernet (as was the imac). New iMac with Lion otherwise same cable configuration and the computer cannot find the printer.  It searchs and spits out a generic error message.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

    Is your printer listed?

If not then you need to get the driver and install it.
Otherwise you may want to reset the printing system.

  • Kodak 6150 printer connection problem with iMac 10.64

I finally got tired of the HP printer eating me alive with ink costs. I purchased a Kodak 6150 printer. Surprised to find out I had to install drivers but that is done.
Here is the problem. If I connect the printer directly via USB to the iMac it works fine. If I connect it to my airport extreme I can print from my Macbook but NOT from the iMac.
Was running a trial version of Intego just to see if possible virus was reason for almost incessent presence of the rainbow wheel - no virus. I turned off the Intego and still no luck being able to print from the iMac.
Per the previous question I did double check and sharing for all is on. The little screen on the printer says it is connected to my network. The printer is about 2 feet from the iMac and the airport is halfway between them so no walls etc in the way.
    Any idea's?
    Thanks

    1. When printers are setup they JOIN a network, and they remember the network name and wireless password. Since that has been changed, you have to REJOIN the printer to your new network of your AirPort Express. Basically, the printer has to be reconfigured. You can always contact your printer manufacturer for assistance.
    2. Navigate to the , then System Preferences, then Network. Click on the Advanced button on the bottom right, you should see a box with Preferred Networks. Remove the unwanted networks (such as your neighbors network).

  • My mac air does not recognize my printer connected to a network

Is usb to lightening the correct connection to see the printer

    Hello there, Appletreflie.
The following Knowledge Base article should have some practical information for you to help setup your printer:
OS X Mountain Lion: Set up a printer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11145
    Specifically:
Add a network printer to your list of printers
You can connect to printers on your local network that use Bonjour, IP, and Open Directory, as well as shared printers and printers connected to a Time Capsule or AirPort base station.
Be sure to follow any instructions from your network administrator.
If the printer isn’t connected to your network, follow the instructions that came with the printer to unpack it, install ink or toner, add paper, and connect it to your network. If you’re connecting a printer to a Time Capsule or AirPort base station’s USB port, see this help topic:Set up a printer connected to a Time Capsule or AirPort base station
Choose Apple menu > Software Update to make sure OS X has the latest information about printer software it can download from Apple.Usually you shouldn’t install software that came with the printer on your Mac. OS X downloads the latest printer software automatically.
Open a document to print, and then choose File > Print.
Open the Printer pop-up menu and choose your printer in the Nearby Printers section of the menu.
If you don’t see your printer, choose Add Printer from the Printer pop-up menu.A dialog appears listing any Bonjour, IP, shared, and Open Directory printers on your local network. It may take a minute or two for your printer to appear. If you’re asked for an administrator name and password
Select your printer when it appears in the list, and then click Add.OS X automatically uses AirPrint if your printer supports it, or it selects printer software (also called a printer driver) and downloads it from Apple if necessary.
If you don’t see your printer in the list, do one of the following:
For an IP printer, click IP in the toolbar and enter the printer’s information. For more information, see this help topic:Set up an IP printer
For a shared Windows printer, click Windows in the toolbar and enter the printer’s information. For more information, see this help topic:Connect to a printer shared by a Windows computer
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro D.

  • Printer connected to Airport will not work after update

I recently updated my airport express firmware to the 7.6.1. The printer was working just fine before I did this. It is connected to the airport base station via USB. The error message is " USB write error: Unable to send 1024 bytes of  data"
As I said before everything was fine until I updated the firmware. Any suggestions? What can I do?

Suggest that you try the following:
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
    Open Print & Scan
Click on the installed printer to highlight it
Click the -- (minus) button at the bottom of the list to delete the device
Close the Print and Scan box
Power down and restart your Mac
Make sure that the printer is plugged into the USB port and powered up
    Open Sysem Preferences
    Open Print & Scan
Click the + (plus) button at the bottom of the printer list area
Hopefully, your printer family will appear in the next window that opens
If yes, click the printer name to highlight it
    Click Add
Try to print. Be sure to select the correct printer since it may also be installed on your Mac.
Power down and retart the printer if needed
    Report on your results

  • Printing to a printer connected to a Windows computer on a wireless network

In my home I have a DSL internet connection, a Linksys router, one wired Windows computer to the router, and one wireless Mac and one wireless PC. In this configuration, the printer is connected to the wired Windows PC. How can I print directly from my iMac to the printer connected there?
-- Before purchasing the iMac I had a Windows based Laptop that was able to print this way (I would have the wired computer and printer turned on, and then press print on the laptop, and it would come out of that printer). How can I duplicate this for the iMac? Thanks!

No, the problem wasn't ever solved. So I compromised and finally hooked up the free printer that came with my Mac. Although I wasn't able to share a printer, I was able to access files and print them kind of the hard way by enabling windows sharing under Sys Prefs > Sharing > Windows Sharing. And then you need to click on accounts and enter your password. Then use the key that the Mac gives you (Should be something like \\192.168.1.1##\shortname) and then on your PC, go to "My Network Places" and click on "Set up a network place." When prompted choose to enter the location yourself and enter the number address given on the Mac. After that a box should pop up asking you for your name and password (which is that of the Mac) and then you should be able to access all of the files that are on your Mac from your PC and print directly that way. Hope that helped someone. And if anyone can still help me print wirelessly, please do!

  • How do I print from wifi-connected MacBook Pro to printer connected via USB to Win7 PC?

This is really frustrating, and I did not think that anything could be this difficult on a Mac. I have a Windows 7 Home Premium desktop PC connected via ethernet cable to wireless router, and a printer connected to the PC via USB. I recently bought my first ever Mac - a MacBook Pro, which is connected via wifi through the same router. All I want to do is to print files from the MacBook Pro on the printer connected to the PC. I have spent a LOT of time searching all over the web. Have tried some 2 or 3 different methods but none of them work for me, e.g. I shared the printer on the Win7 desktop and then added the printer on the MBP with the IP option with LPD/LPR Protocol, after enabling LPD Print Service on the PC. The printer gets added but when I give the command to print from the Mac, the print job shows up on the printer queue but the "Printing" soon changes to "Error Printing" (or something like that) and nothing gets printed. Then, I have to switch off the printer, remove the print job from the queue and switch on the printer again to get it out of the error state.
I also tried setting up the printer on the MBP using CUPS Admin interface, i.e. localhost:631. Again, printer gets added but document does not print. The third way I tried to add the printer was using the Windows option in the Add Printer dialog, and typing in an smb: URL but no luck with that, either.
Please, can anyone help me? This is driving me crazy
    Oh, and the devices are:
    1) Windows 7 Home Premium Desktop PC
    2) MacBook Pro running OS X Mountain Lion
    3) HP Deskjet F2110 printer
    Thanks...

First Install Bonjour for Windows on your Windows machine. This will allow the printer to be discovered.

  • Print a File from Forms to a Printer connected to USB Port

    Hi All,
I have a printer connected to the USB port to my local machine.
I access web application Forms 9i AS and try to print a report on my local printer. The report is opened using web.show_document in the Internet explorer browser window. There are several pages in the report and i need a page break to be recognized on each page. For remote printing i tried using ORARRP utility but it does not print from a printer connected to a USB port. But it works when the printer is connected to a parallel port.
How do i achieve this, please share your thoughts on this and solution as well if this is feasible
Expecting a favourable reply from the forum users.
    Thanks in advance

WEB.show_document is mainly for running a report that you want to display in a browser but you can still use it to create a file in the report server even though I would recommend to use RUN_REPORT_OBJECT instead ...
You can take a look at metalink note 207396.1 - How to Run Reports From Forms 9i / 10g Using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT.
It appears you are already using it since WEB.show_document in your case is just used to retrieve the output from a job that was previously run, most likely with RUN_REPORT_OBJECT.
Can you post the code used to run the report ? It will be easier to convert it to generate a file if we have it..
The file name you assign it when you call the report (DESNAME=d:\mysharedfolder\mytextfilenameyyymmddhhmiss.txt) so that it is unique and you delete it after the report is printed, webutil can give you a private folder for the user in the application server, in case the data is sensitive, you would run the report with DESTYPE=FILE and MODE=CHARACTER.
You would need two folder locations, one in the application server, webutil can help you with that, and another one in the client PC, it could be the C:\TEMP folder if you will ...

  • How to print to HP PSC1110 All-In-One Printer connected to WinXP PC?

    Hello everybody,
I would like to us an HP PSC1110 "all-in-one" printer connected to a Windows PC in another room.
The easy part: The printer shows up in the browsing window, under the correct Windows domain, when I try to add an "other Printer" device.
The difficult part: When I try to select the printer model from the list of HP printer models provided, it does not show up, although HP PSC 1110 is included in the list of supported printers.
I also tried the ESP HP-deskjet drivers, both old and new version. But those result in printer errors on the Windows PC.
BTW: Printing over the net works well from other Windows PCs!
Can somebody out there who had a similar problem before give me a hint how to set up printing to an HP "all-in-one" over the Windows-Network?
    Thank you,
    Detlef

Thank you for the detailed information. Maybe I should have added a few screenshots too.
The suggested procedure probably works for a HP Photosmart Printer. However, the PSC1110 is a "Printer, Scanner, Copier" all-in-one device. Unfortunately, this one does not show up in the menus, although it is supposed to be supported. I assume that only an USB backend is available, but no SMB backend.
Is this correct? Is there a workaround?
    Thank you for your feedback
