Is your rotation lock stuck in one mode (landscape or portrait)?

Mine was. I use the switch on the side of my iPad 2 to lock the rotation mode, but when I turned off the switch today, the iPad remained locked in whichever mode I started with!
If I unlocked my iPad in portrait mode, then it would stay there, even when the switch was unlocked. Same thing if I started with landscape. Looked everywhere for a solution, but I couldn't find it!
What I did find eventually is that all I needed to do was to clear the iPad's cache for it to start working properly again. An Apple genius tipped me off to this simple troubleshooting step a while ago and it has resolved a myriad of problems.
Hold the power-up switch for 5-10 seconds until you see the red "swipe to power off" appear. Swipe it to power off.
Hold down the power-up switch until you see the Apple logo appear and let it power up normally.
That's it! So simple, yet it clears a whole host of mysterious issues related to memory that you would otherwise end up scratching your head over!
I think I'll use this cache clearing method every couple of days just to be safe....but are there any hidden issues where this might cause a problem? I can't imagine what they might be....

I just had the same rotation lock issue and a reboot fixed it. But even though this solved it, I won't accept this a fix for the issue. So if it happens again, I'll just return the iPad to the store!

None of these suggestions have helped, and you don't want to hard reset your phone. This is what i think worked for me.
1. Plug in headset when iPhone is locked.
2. Hold down the power button so that the "slide to power off" bar appears.
3. Remove the headphones.
4. Push the "Cancel" button at the bottom of the screen.
5. Go to the phonepad and see if pressing the buttons now produces sound.
(It's possible that I've forgotten something that I did, so the next time my phone locks, I'll try the same method again and update this post. Unless someone else is having the problem and wants to verify.)

The root cause is either the presence of lint/dust in the switch or the inadequate resilience of the spring.
Nod, that's the cause of a similar problem, and cleaning the jack tends to help. My problem is a software problem, though, so cleaning and repeatedly inserting the headphones won't help.
With the problem I have, the iphone responds to the headphones being inserted or removed, so it knows they're there (or not there) but it fails to switch the speaker output.

The best way to get out of this situation is to use a well-known tool called TinyUmbrella.
First of all download TinyUmbrella http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.in/
Now, making sure your device is connected to your computer, launch TinyUmbrella
It will automatically detect that your iPod is stuck in recovery mode
Select the Exit Recovery button and it should throw your iPod touch out of recovery.
Alternatively, you can right-click on your iPod name from a list at the side
of TinyUmbrella and select Kick out of recovery.

IPad 3 stuck in Recovery mode while trying to upgrade

I attempted to upgrade my iPad 3 and received the error message that there was not enough memory. Linked it via USB to iTunes on PC laptop (updated iTunes to latest version). Error message said unable to upgrade the iPad, my only option is to Restore. However, that will erase all my data and settings which I have not backed up. Now I'm stuck. Either restore and lose all or leave iPad as is ... only problem with the latter is that the iPad is stuck in Recovery mode and everything I have tried does not release it. Hp Pavillion windows 8 stuck in safe mode- no display

My girlfriends pavillion notebook has the win 8.1 upgrade on it. It came with win 8. The display is broken and she has been using a monitor connected via the HDMI port. She was having performance issues, freeze up, delayed response type stuff. Bad enough I decided to restart in safe mode to work on it. I did so without thinking about the HDMI port not being enabled in safe mode. It was actually a Safe mode/minimal restart. So now I can not get it out of safe mode because I have no display without the HDMI port. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried a hard boot, where you take out the battery, disconnect everything and hold down the power button. Though highly recommended several times she did not make a start up disc or recovery disc.

HT4623 After updating iPhone 4, it is stuck in recovery mode?

iPhone 4 has ios 5 and finally decided to update it. Did it over wi-fi and after it downloaded the pic insert usb to itunes popped up. Clicked restore and update and After the software downloaded nothing happened. it went back to the orignial screen with the pic still in recovery mode telling me to connect usb to itunes. Everytime I update something horrible happens!!! You think i would have learned my lesson by now ugh!!! HELPPP!

Reset all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. Your iPad will reboot on its own. You will have to enter all of the device settings again, but no data will be lost.
I eould not spend a whole lot more time trying to fix this, if the device is really brand new. I would take it back to where you bought it, bring the box, the charger, the cable and your receipt and if they can't get it fixed, return it and get another one.

Lock screen and other app stuck on zoomed mode

I noticed that my lock screen is stuck on zoomed mode. When I'm in my home screen it's in standard view. Also I'm having the same issue with my apps. Apps like Pinterest, Tumblr, Swarm, Twitter looks fine but other apps like Facebook and Instagram are all stuck on zoomed mode. How do i fix this?
