ISA 500 series maximum password lenght

Hello,
What is the maximum password lenght that the new ISA500 series supports for users, both local database and with RADIUS server? Our two factor identification needs 44 characters + PIN.
Thanks.

Hi John, thank you for using our forum, my name is Johnnatan I am part of the Small business Support community. To answer your question the maximum password length that the ISA500 series supports for users is 1-64 characters and the port range is  from 1 to 65535. I hope you find this answer useful
                                                                          "GuideMe"
Cisco has a very useful tool called GuideMe, is made for small business products, and your device is in this category, you can use this address for accessing the tool:  http://sbkb.cisco.com/CiscoSB/Loginr.aspx?alt1=&pid=4&eroute=Super , is very easy to use, just complete the 3  spaces on this way:
Select a category: (Select the device type on request), e.g. Routers
Enter model: (Type the model on request), e.g. RV042
Question: (Type what you want to know  about the device), e.g. VPN
And it'll be showing all the information you need about what you wrote.

  • ISA 500 Series DHCP Options 66,67 and 150 does NOT work

Options 66,67 and 150 on both the ISA 550 and 570 does not work. I've tested it and ran a packet capture, there's nothign showing these options being issues by a client ACK.
Has anyone have this working as yet, see image for an example

I use option 66 on ISA 550 1.2.15  When you do packet capture are you seeing other dhcp items as expected?

  • ISA 500 Series - NEEDS Safe Search option

We have a number of schools we would like to place the ISA 550/570 devices in - but there is no current means to enable Safe Search in the UTM section of the config.  SonicWall and Fortinet offer this option - but we prefer using the Cisco appliance due to the other features - which are excellent and for the price point - which also fits well with school budgets.
QUESTION: When can we expect to see the option to enable Safe Search (Yahoo, Bing, Google) on the ISA 550/570 appliance?
This is a CRITICAL feature that we really need to have access to.

  • Cisco ISA 500 Series - Intervlan routing via 801.2q (Router on a stick)

    Hello to everyone,
I am considering the ISA 550 for a customer who has multiple VLANs on his network.  In order to avoid purchase a layer3 switch, I was thinking that we could perhaps create a 802.1q trunk link from a switch to the ISA500 and perform Inter-VLAN routing through that. In addition, we would use access lists to prevent communications between specific VLANs.
My question is if this setup model can be done on the ISA 550.  I haven't used it before, so I am not sure if it can support this setup.
Any information or help is much appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Chris.

Chris, ISA550 can support the configuration you described.

  • ISA 500 Series Remote Administration Certificates

    Hi,
I've enabled remote management of an ISA550w and I'm only allowing https connections.  Is it possible to provide a certificate for remote admin of the device?  I have uploaded a certificate from a trusted CA to the device, but it only seems to present the default self signed certificate when connecting from an external IP.  I would prefer to see a proper certificate when connecting.
Thanks in advance for any advise you can offer on this.

    Hi Brandon,
Sorry for the delayed response, I'm the only tech person in the firm (small business! ), and have been focussed on client issues.  This device is for my firm though so took lower priority.
The certificate was issued by GoDaddy/Starfield.
The support case number is: 626848971
One question from my side... I'm usually dealing with clients during normal UK business hours which is the time when the Cisco UK support centre is open.  Is it acceptable to use the US support centre given that this is more of a software issue rather than something that would require the device to be returned to Cisco?  I tend to deal with my firm's own admin after the end of the UK business day.  I also find that when I do find a few minutes to attempt to contact the UK centre, it takes a long time to get a response via live chat - understandable if call volumes are high, but I often have to go off to work with my clients before I can get through.
    Many Thanks,
    Dominic

  • 500 series phones wont register after recovering password

I had to recover the password for a UC540W and followed the standard procedures that I am aware of. I went to rommon, , copy start to run, change the password, no shut on the interfaces, saved and rebooted.
The 7900 series phones work with no problem but the 525 and 504 are stuck downloading the xmldefault.cnf.xml file. It would seem that there is some other item I need to adjust during the password recovery.
What else would possibly be affected by a password reset that would selectively knockout the 500 series phones?
I did a factory reset on the 504g phone and it loaded a default screen but didnt register with the UC540.
The statements for the phones loads are listed:
    tftp-server flash:/phones/525/spa525g-7-4-4.bin alias spa525g-7-4-4.bin
    tftp-server flash:/phones/5x5/spa5x5-7-4-4.bin alias spa5x5-7-4-4.bin
and the files are in the directory:
    Directory of flash:/phones/

What else would possibly affect this that I could check.
I have a demo in the morning and am waiting on SCC support to fix my serial number so I can order support. So in the meantime I am stuck.
I could upload my config but I dont have time to clean it. I know this is a simple one line statement issue so if you have any ideas please let me know.
Also no changes were made to the configuration before or after this problem other than to reset the password.
    Thanks

I thought about that but it was isolated to one series of phones.
I was working on the unit and had to do work on the wireless to get the 7925 working. I edited the voice wlan and changed from wep to open. After it uploaded the changes.... both phones started working.
It must have been security related as whatever statements were changed related to the wlan config.. it allowed the phones to complete registration.
I wish I could find out what caused it.. but I do have the cca logs. I will bring it up with cca feedback.
    Thanks for your help.

  • US 500 Series FXO/FXS

Hello all. I just need to clarify/ask a question. From my discussions with Cisco tech support, the maximum number of FXO and FXS ports I can have on a UC 500 series is 8 of each, using a VIC card for 4 more FXO and a SPA8800 for 4 more FXS.
Does anyone know of anyway to increase this? I have a client who needs to run with 12 FXO and 12 FXS to make a functioning system.
Does anyone have any other solutions I can deliver? (And please do not go into BRI or SIP; it's not going to happen.)
    Thanks all.

    Hello Kris,
If you are using UC560-FXO and add two additional FXO VICs - VIC2-4FXO you will have a total of 12 FXO ports.
Then add SPA8000 will give you additional 8 FXS ports - total 12.
This is how you add SPA8000 to the UC.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9465
For FXS also you may use ATA186.

    Alex

  • I need online Configuration Guide for Catalyst Express 500 Series Switches

    Hi Mates,
Please is there an online help page for 500 series catalyst
I have this one for IOS 12.2(25)FY http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6545/products_configuration_example09186a00806da6c9.shtml
but I need more detailes like IOS 12.3(7)JA for Aironet 1300 http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps5861/products_configuration_guide_book09186a00804ebd50.html
    Regards
    Saher

I'm afraid there is not such document for IOS 12.2(25)FY since the Catalyst Express 500 Series switches are manageable through the GUI Device Manager or Cisco Network Assistant.
I have also found key features and standards supported for that release:

  • How to erase all configuration in Cisco ESW 500 Series Switches

    Hi anybody,
Anyone show me how to erase or remove  configuration file from ESW 500 Series Switches?
    Thanks
    Thuc

    Hi Thuc,
    The restart / reset function will allow for local or remote reset of the  the unit to Factory defaults, see screen capture below. ;
Alternatively, the Switch can be reset by inserting a paper clip into the RESET opening on the friont of the switch.
Pressing the manual reset for 0 to 10 seconds only  reboots the switch.
Pressing the manual reset for longer than 10 seconds results in the switch being reset to factory defaults.
does this answer your question, not exactly sure it does ?
    regards Dave

  • Cisco 500 Series 802.1x Requirements

    Hello,
Does anyone have a guide on how to setup 802.1x on the Cisco 500 Series Switches.
I have done the whole implamentation in the past with Catalysts and ACS.
But would like to see a guide for the 500 series.
Do we need the Cisco ACS or can we use RADIUS on Windows?

Hi Peter, you may use IAS or any radius you prefer. To my knowledge the admin guide is the only documentation. You may check the Cisco knowledgd base as well.

The computer will also beep 6 times in a row stop then repeat the beeps 5 times if i have the 6 pin connector plugged into the graphics card. The gtx 650 works just fine in my other computer with this same power supply.

    Melton80, welcome to the forum.
Your computer is running Win 8.1 which comes with a UEFI BIOS.  It may be that the GTX 650 is not supported by the BIOS.  If this is the case, you will have to go into the BIOS and enable the Legacy option.

  • HP Pavilion 500 series running Windows 8 not returning from sleep mode

I've just bought a Pavilion desktop 500 series running Windows 8.
When the pc goes into sleep mode, I wiggle the mouse (as usual) to re-awaken it. The screen returns, and I can see my screen saver (a rotating series of photos), and the icons on the taskbar for the items that I have open, but all the icons on my desktop have disappeared and, whilst I can move the mouse pointer around, no amount of clicking will bring anything up.
I have tried switching users (my wife shares the pc under a different user name) to see if this works, but still no change. The only thing that appears to work is to switch the computer off and back on again.

Well, contacted the weblink helpdesk, only to be told that, as they were in the USA and I in the UK, they couldn't help me and to contact the UK. This is via an 0844 number at 5p/minute. Looked up all the other (supposed) helplinks, which suggest that the user goes through a swathe of possibilities to cure the issue, without actually diagnosing the problem.
Bit the bullet and phoned the helpdesk. 22 minutes of chat later, the solutions offered were (a) return the pc to the retailer under warranty or (b) perform a systme restore which means backing up all my data (again), re-formatting the system, then re-installing all my software and data again less than two weeks since I last did it. Of course, there's no guarantee that this will actually cure the issue.
For the meantime, I've set the sleep modes on the pc and screen to "never" to see if that makes a difference......

  • Catalyst 500 series

    hi,
i have a question regarding cisco 500 series switches and it is that if we want to shut down this switch remotely then is it possible or it has to be done manually by going to the switch location and disconnecting the power supply because i dont see a power off or shut down option if it is accessed remotely like from a pc.
    regards
    Ahmed

I don't think many devices are meant to be shutdown. As soon as there is power they run. That's what they are made for.
What do you wish to acomplish with the shutdown?
    Cheers,

  • Cisco 500 series switches

    Dear support,
Can Cisco 500 series switches deliver 24V on the access port for POE operation?
    Best Regards

I belive the 802..2F and 802.2at poe standard is strictly 48v.  I haven't found anything to the contrary.  There are inline convertes 48v-24v or something like this that can be used with a non poe switch: http://www.digital-loggers.com/poe24.html but that means all conected device would be off the same access port / vlan.
