ISA 550 GUI Broken In Firefox 25

I updated from Firefox version 24 to version 25. The GUI on all of my ISA550 devices no longer expand the top level menu tabs out to show the sub items. Downgraded back to version 24 and that fixed the issue, obviously not ideal. Anyone else seeing this issue?

I also had errors with version 23 and Chrome, so I'm only using IE with the ISA, never had any issue.

  • ISA 550 Error - sdsd: http_get: Error: http_read_response failed, returned -2

    Hi all,

  • ISA 550 Firewall Rule - how to specify a domain (to resolve a DDNS)

I want to lock down access to an ISA 550 Firewall to 4 locations.  2 of the locations have dynamic IP addresses.
Both sites have a dynamic domain maintained at no-ip.org.
How can I enter 'name.no-ip.org' in to a firewall rule?

There is not a way to use a domain name in a firewall rule.  When the traffic comes in the packets are addressed with IPs, not with domain names, so when the router looks things up it compares IP addresses.
In fact I have never seen this done, even on an enterprise device.  I'm not saying nothing can do it, but it definitely isn't possible with the ISA.
Your best bet would be to try and get some static IPs for those two sites as well.
It is however possible to setup site-to-site VPNs between these devices even if some of them are using DDNS.  This does require those other site's routers to support site-to-site tunnels.  That way those four sites would be able to access resources behind the ISA, but no one else would, and you could still keep using the DDNS for the two dynamic sites.

  • Cisco ISA 550 NAT problem

    Hi all,
I have bought a Cisco ISA 550 small business firewall and I had to face to a problem when I configure the NAT.
    My scenario is,
I have a mail server in my LAN which is need to be access from both inside and outside
    My lan network is 192.168.0.0/24
I have a PPPoE WAN connection with a static IP
    Mail server IP 192.168.0.15/ 24
There is not a DMZ zone. I need to NAT this server to my WAN IP and that WAN IP is also used
to provide internet connection to other LAN users. I could do this with my previous ADSL
router and i tried to do this with firewall but couldn't acheive the task.
Hope a help from some expert.
    Thanks,
    Charith

Do you want that your internal clients connect to the WAN IP and get natted to the local LAN IP?
Then open the Maintain and Operate Guide at cisco.com and search for "hairpinning".

  • ISA 550 Bandwidth Management.

I wanted to know an automated or manual method of bandwidth management for ISA 550 with 1.2.x.x firmware. I currently have 30 nodes on a 2mbps link and if one host starts downloading others are left with very little or no bandwidth at all. Is there a way I can regulate this automatically or manually?

Sounds like Ciscomax got you fixed up.  Also wanted to mention, should the need arise, you can do bandwidth throttling.  We do this in some circumstances on Guest Wireless networks to prevent guests from hogging to much bandwidth.  So, for example, if you wanted to limit bandwidth on a GuestWiFi to 512K/128K, you would do the following.
From within the ISA500 Config Utility, select Networking on the left
Expand QoS and select General Settings
Select to Enable WAN QoS and select Save
Expand WAN QoS and select Traffic Selector (Classification)
    Select Add
    Class Name:                   G-WiFi (In)
    Source Address:                        Any
    Destination Address:      Guest_Network
    Select OK
    Select Add (again)
    Class Name:                   G-WiFi (Out)
    Source Address:                        Guest_Network
    Destination Address:      Any
    Select OK
    Select Save
Select QoS Policy Profile under QoS, WAN QoS in the Networking section on the left
    Select Add
    Policy Name: G-WiFi (In)
Select the Inbound Traffic radio button
    Select Add
Select G-WiFi (In) from the Class drop down menu
    DSCP Marking:  None
    CoS Marking:     7
    Rate-limiting:      512
    Select OK
    Select OK
    Select Add (again)
    Policy Name: G-WiFi (Out)
Select the Outbound Traffic radio button
    Select Add
Select G-WiFi (Out) from the Class drop down menu
    Queue:               Q1
    DSCP Marking:  None
    Rate-limiting:      128
    Select OK
    Select OK

  • Performance degration with isa 550 on 100/10mbit line normal?

    hi,
I installed an isa 550 on a 100/10 mbit line.
if I connect my macbook directly to the router, I got with speedtests 90mbit down, 9 mbit up - that's o.k.
with a plain vanilla isa 550 and only my macbook connected I got 70-80 mbit down, 9 mbit up, that's still o.k.
but isa connected with the rest of our network (nothing extraordinary - several macs and pcs) and configured with a few port-forwardings, that speedtest dropped to 50 mbit down and 9 mbit up.
you can see, upload-speed never changed, but download speed.
so I would like to know, is this normal, that the speed of our internet-connection declined so much with a few firewall-rules and 5 clients - is the processor of the isa to slow for this internet-line?
thx for your opinions in advance!
    regards, ferdinand

Hi Olivier, thank you for using our forum, my name is Johnnatan I am part of the Small business Support community. ISA new product are really nice device, with multiple block features, to answer your question you can block specific web sites per URL, here you can see two ways to block that websites.
    http://www6.nohold.net/CiscoSB/Loginr.aspx?login=1&pid=2&app=search&vw=1&articleid=3551
    http://www6.nohold.net/CiscoSB/Loginr.aspx?login=1&pid=2&app=search&vw=1&articleid=3522
If you want to compare the features of both devices you can check this link. However the main difference is the 550 has 6 LAN ports, the 570 has 9 and supports more VPN tunnels.
For VPN SSL is supported without additional cost, here you can see how to configure it.

About your question regardless the Fortigate router, I have no information about it, I apologize for that.
I hope you find this answer useful,

  • Rendering a Cisco ACS page is broken in Firefox 15

Since updating to Firefox 15, a page inside my Cisco ACS appliance does not render: Access Policies > Access Services > Default Network Access > Authorization.
The page has historically taken 15-20 seconds to fully load its contents, and the page now renders as if Firefox 15 got sick of waiting and just displayed what content it had. Is this a problem with rendering the page or perhaps did the value of a timer get changed in Firefox 15?
The Cisco appliance is not public-facing, so I am happy to do a screen-sharing session with a Mozilla engineer if it would help troubleshoot. Thanks.

Still broken in 16... Great, now I have to run a version that is 2 versions old.

  • YouTube HTML5 WebM playback seems broken in Firefox 4 Beta 7 and the current Firefox 4 nightlies

WebM playback on YouTube via the HTML5 player seems broken at present in Firefox 4 Beta 7 and the current Firefox 4 nightlies. I have beta 7 install on Win32 and Minefield on Linux x86-64, both without Flash installed and both have joined the HTML5 trial. When attempting to watch a video you currently just get the HTML5 player chrome with no WebM badge and just a black, videoless content pane where the video should be.
Opera 10.63, in contrast, still works fine. So it feels like YouTube is incorrectly detecting the user agent when Firefox 4 is used and as a consequence mistakenly deciding that it shouldn't serve WebM video in that instance. I've not yet tried setting Firefox 4's user agent string to, say, Opera 10.63. I'll try that next.
Can anyone confirm that they're seeing the same problem and is there any other workaround beyond changing the user agent string (presuming that works)?

I just noticed that Firefox is playing some of my videos from youtube in WEBM format; That creates a huge problem for me because of distortion/Lag on ALL Webm videos with intense fast action scenes;I guess my onboard video card can not handle the demand of WEBM.
My computer is not too old or new either so I really am concern for the foreseeable future,Millions of people from around the world that can not afford new computers will be affected by this new tech.
This ruins everything for me because Firefox is my favorite browser I am forced to switch to Internet Explorer to watch sports videos in H264/Flash - I dont have a problem viewing videos with Flash or H264.

  • The navigation toolbar is broken in firefox 4.0b6 for mac PPC. How to fix?

I’m running an eMac G4 with system 10.5.8. The entire navigation toolbar on firefox 4.0b6 is “broken.” The buttons are grayed out and will not function. Typing in an URL will not work either. In fact, nothing works. Is there a way to fix this or do I have to wait for the next incarnation of Firefox to be ready for release?

Firefox 4 will not work on the PPC Mac. The system requirements for Firefox 4 on the Mac are:
    * 32- and 64-bit builds (universal binary)
    * minimum version: Mac OS X 10.5
    * CPU architecture: i386, x86-64

  • I am not happy with the GUI changes in Firefox 4+ versions

Please consider not making incomprehensible changes to the GUI. My "Home" icon has been in the same spot for 20 years. I had to revert to 3.6.4 to move it back.
While I'm in rant mode, rejecting any suggestion from a user who isn't using the latest version suggests complete idiocy.
Oh, and I'm still waiting for one of my first half dozen requests for my "confirmation" email to arrive. I had to register again to get here.
On the bright side, FF support rivals that of the largest corporations in the US.

''Please consider not making incomprehensible changes to the GUI. My "Home" icon has been in the same spot for 20 years.''
You did not need to go back at all, Firefox is customizable, and you should have taken care of that part yourself. But you can do a lot more than what you mentioned -- here is how to make the current Firefox 5.0 look like Firefox 3.6.19 or Firefox 3.6.4 for that matter though you should not have gone back earlier than 3.6.19.
You can make Firefox '''Firefox 5.0''' look like Firefox 3.6.19, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 5.0, or 4.0.1, look like 3.6)]. • Is turning off iFrames via about:config browser.frames.enabled;false broken in Firefox 23?

I noticed that Firefox with version 23 removed option to turn OFF JavaScriipt from Tools > Options > Content menu
    http://www.extremetech.com/computing/163291-firefox-23-finally-kills-the-blink-tag-removes-ability-to-turn-off-javascript-introduces-new-logo
Recent events when allegedly FBI used JavaScript in iframe to exploit bug in Firefox with intentions to uncover identity of users of TOR network encouraged me to play with security settings a bit.
More about how FBI exploited Firefox bug to execute malitious JavaScript on users computers: https://lists.torproject.org/pipermail/tor-announce/2013-August/000089.html More biased articles can be found in popular media articles. Just google "TOR exploit FBI"
    ISSUE:
    Symptoms:
I noticed that turning iFrames OFF in about:config > browser.frames.enabled;false seems to not be working as expected. Iframes are still shown and JavaScript in them is executed. Doesnt work even after resterting Firefox.
    Testing:
I used this pages to test iFrames:
    •http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_iframe
    •http://www.quirksmode.org/iframetest.html
After I turned browser.frames.enabled OFF and restarted I noticed that iFrames are still shown on all 3 pages and JavaScript in them would be executed.
By blocking IFRAMES with NoScript blocking turned ON (you have to turn forbidding IFRAMES on manually in options http://i.imgur.com/7jctoTW.png) I managed to block IFRAMES on google and w3school pages.
!!!Text in iframe "Test page in iframe" on quirksmode test page was still shown even after I have frames turned OFF in about:config and I block all scripts and frames and iframes with NoScript.
If I open same page (http://www.quirksmode.org/iframetest.html) with Opera with iFrames blocked in Preferences, iFrame is not shown at all, browser doesnt even render empty square; but JavaScript in it is executed, if you dont disable JavaScript in Preferences > Advanced.
I didnt test Chrome at all.
Possible things that can cause bug:
•I am using NoScript 2.6.7, I turned it off and on but it is possible that it is overriding Firefox settings in about:config. when you serach about:config for "frames" there are many settings mentioning frames from NoScript and AdBlockPlus.
•AdBlock Plus 2.3.2? Same reason as NoScript.
•Fot the first time I noticed Shield in the address bar with "Firefox has blocked content that isnt secure" bubble. http://i.imgur.com/K4FL65n.png. I dont know how long this feature is implemented or what exactly it does, here are some details: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-does-content-isnt-secure-affect-my-safety?as=u&utm_source=inproduct
P.S. Just small remark. If that is true: "Finally, Firefox 23 removes the option to disable JavaScript from the Options pane — and if you had JavaScript turned off, it has been turned back on." There should be some warning when Firefox is updated that JS was turned ON. I think that for me FF updated silently without any messages. OR maybe I blatantly closed some windows, i dont remember well.

The documentation I find on browser.frames.enabled is very vague, but I can't see that it does anything currently. Is this a feature you used successfully in an earlier version?
The Mixed [Active] Content Blocker was turned on by default in Firefox 23. That would explain the shield icon. Not sure whether implementing that might have changed how iframes are handled.

  • Fileupload broken in Firefox 3.6.3 Flash 10.0.45.2 Mac OS X

I have been trying to get some basic file upload of an image working using Flex 4 and Flash 10, but when I upload an image drag and drop stops working in Firefox 3.6.3 on Mac OS X.
After the fileupload loads the new PNG file, it displays correctly, but drag and drop events don't appear to propagate any more, and the app generally freezes up.  On some occasions the app starts working again until the next file upload.
I tried calling the fileupload code without doing anything with the loaded file, and the problem still occurs.
This exact code works as expected with Safari and Google Chrome (5.0.375.55) on Mac OS X.
I don't think I am trying to do anything too complex - I do not have a workaround. Ultimately I want to store the images in a back end database etc., but there is no getting around the need for fileupload.  I have moved from Flex 3 / Flash 9 fileupload due to well documented and wide ranging problems.
    Any suggestions are welcome...
