ISCSI Initator still connects to NAS after deleting OVM Storage Array

I've got a 3.0.2 test rig with a couple of VM servers, a VM Manager and an Iomega NAS
I have a working solution using NFS storage, so the next step was to get a working solution with iSCSI
I started by enabling iSCSI and creating LUNs on an Iomega NAS
I then created an iSCSI Storage Array in OVM which pointed at the NAS
I registered a couple of iSCSI Initators in the OVM configuration.
I then created a server pool etc and everything looks good
Time to cleanup
I deleted ISCSI based repository contents and then the serverpool.
I deleted the LUNS from the OVM Storage Array definition
I tried to remove the iSCSI Initators but it said it couldn't do that with an iSCSI generic initator
I deleted the OVM Storage array
I then went to the Iomega NAS to delete the LUNs and it says that there are still VM Server iSCSI Initators connected.
I suspect I will be able to get rid of the iSCSI initiators connecting to the NAS by shutting down my two VM Servers and then rebooting the NAS. Since the VM servers aren't running there will be no connections coming from them so I will be able to delete the LUNS and turn off iSCSI.
Should the delete of the OVM storage Array definition have deleted the iSCSI Initators or did I miss a step somewhere ?
At this point, is there an easier to way to cleanup without rebooting everything ?

After hooking up a couple of OVM3.0.2 servers setup to an HP P4000 VSA - I noticed that when deleting iSCSI LUNs first from VM Manager, and then from the VSA - after rebooting the hosts - the OVM servers would try to connect to the LUNs even though they had been deleted.
If the LUN was deleted from VM Manager, but not the SAN - the LUN would just re-appear.
If the LUN was deleted from VM Manager, along with the iSCSI Disk Array registration - the LUN would end up in 'unmanaged iSCSI array'.
For some reason I can't seem to un-assign a server initiator from the arrays 'default access group'. I guess perhaps this is the problem.
The only way to get around this is to delete the entire array registration!
I created an SR and the latest news on that is that it's been filed as a bug.....

Podcasts Still in Folder Even After Deleting

Hi, I'm having a problem with itunes retaining podcasts, even after I delete them. I always click the option "Move to Recycle Bin," but a recent cruise through my itunes folder under My Music revealed that many of the supposedly deleted podcasts are still there. This has happened several times, and it gets to the point where I run out of hard drive space if I don't go to the folder and delete the old podcasts. I understand that this should only happen if I click on "Keep Files," so why is this happening even though I tell it to delete the episodes? It seems to be just random ones, too, with no rhyme or reason to whether it decides to keep an episode I told it to delete or not. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

"Move to Recycle Bin" doesn't work if the file is active; that is, if you have just finished listening to it and it is still the active track in iTunes with the little speaker icon next to it. Start to play something else, then go back and delete it. That's probably what's happening.
A less likely reason is that you had moved the podcast file from where iTunes deposited it. ITunes can only erase files that are in the +iTunes Music+ folder to begin with. So if you downloaded the file in iTunes the moved it, or (this just occured to me) got the file from some other means and imported it to iTunes without saving it to the +iTunes Music+ folder, iTunes won't move it to the RB.

Missing artwork for songs still on iPhone 4s after deleting those songs from my mac

When I delete songs from iTunes on my mac, the next time I plug in my iphone 4s (for a manual sync) my iphone loses all the album artwork for any songs no longer on my mac (that are still on my phone). How do I stop this from happening and restore artwork to my iphone without having to manually reapply the artwork to each song?
My best guess is that iTunes is syncing the song information/tags on my iphone to match the information/tags on my macbook each time I sync. Whatever the reason, I should be able to import CDs, transfer them to my iphone (with artwork), delete the files from my computer (leaving them only on my iphone) and not have problems losing the artwork from my phone. If it was there in the first place, it should stay there. Help?

I had same problem and took half a day to figure it out... I tried everything i could think or read here and nothing worked. So i decide to restore my iPhone 4S and configure it as a new one. But before, i did some copy/paste of my photos/video folders from Windows Explorer then i've select all then tried to delete it from windows explorer..after few deleted i got a message saying that the device wasnt responding or was unpluged. But wasnt.
some files was not deletable. And in my iPhone the pictures wasnt there too but files was listed in windows explorer....
So, i did a Photos sync but choosing the Windows Sample folder only. It wiped out all my photos folder and did new one, then all my songs were synced again and all is back and playable.
I suggest, look if you have photos, videos, apps that isnt working or not deletable.. then wipe it out by an iTunes sync (unselecting sync those things or sync completely different apps or folder)
It worked for me... Hope you get it fixed too.

Iphone still on icloud account after deletion

removed iphone 4 from icloud ( icloud.com/find ) but phone still locked on the icould account. It still asks for the email & password.

FIXED!!!!! This problem was weirder than I thought. I'll try to be very specific and include all the keywords I searched for, so that people can find this thread and fix this.
Under "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" I couldn't add any type of account, couldn't delete my iCloud account, or change any settings. Didn't matter whether it was gmail, exchange, yahoo, or even carddav. Adding accounts would verify, but once I hit "Save" it would get stuck on "Adding Accounts" with the spinning circle. Adding a carddav account would verify, but the "save" button on the top right was greyed out, and the "Back" button was greyed out as well, forcing me to force close the Settings app. Attempting to delete the iCloud account would freeze the Settings app as well.
I have fixed this problem by restoring the phone, skipping the setup of iCloud, then adding the email account. I found this solution at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3457089 where only the answer to the original post solved my problem. Unlike that poster, however, I was able to actually access the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" settings, I was just not able to make any changes whatsoever. I have not tried adding my iCloud account back in, but the other poster tried adding it, and he stopped receiving emails from the non-iCloud account.

Consistently losing connection to NAS after error:

Win 8.1 (happened in 8 too). Lose connection to WD MyCloud that only corrects after a computer restart (nothing done to the MyCloud). The error is:
A fatal alert was generated and sent to the remote endpoint. This may result in termination of the connection. The TLS protocol defined fatal error code is 10. The Windows SChannel error state is 10.
Any help would be appreciated!!

How to recovery setup after deleting internal storage

Hi everyone, i have i little problem, i accidently erased my entire internal storage, from whitch i usualy do a recovery out of box state. i have recovery dvd's, five of them, but my dvd drive is not so good,and it was hard to recover from dvd's. now i would like to create again recovery part on internal storage as it was from the start but i dont know how...earlyer i had one hdd with 25GB memery ..it was invisible on my computer folder, i could only see it from device manager..but its gone..i am sorry for my bad english..hope someone understand my problem and want to help me..tnx

After deleting photos, memory in my iPad is still used. WHY?

When connecting my iPad mini to iTunes on my MacBook Air it shows that I have 2489 pictures on the iPad and am using 28.4 GB for all those pictures. When I open the Photos app on my iPad it shows that I do not have ANY pictures on the iPad, which would be correct, as I have deleted them all. So why are they still using up all that memory? How can I clear the memory to make it available again? BTW, My iPad Settings>General>About agrees with iTunes. It shows that I have 2452 pix (why not 2489 as above?), and am using 28.4 GB for them. So again, HOW CAN I CLEAR THE UNUSED MEMORY, or get rid of the pix if they are indeed still hiding somewhere on my iPad?

May be you need to do a comprehensive first.
Firstly, be aware that the phone can sometimes take a while to update free space after deleting large items. I have often wondered whether iOS is making the user experience a bit 'nicer' by reporting the item deleted instantly, while doing the actual deleting in the background. Or perhaps its just the time taken to update databases used to record/report used/free space. In any case, try giving it a few minutes (maybe an hour) and see if its 'settled down'.
Next up, in the Photos app, check the albums 'tab'. Is the camera roll reporting entirely empty? Are there any other albums?
Finally, plug the iPad into your computer, and open up an app like Apple's Image Capture or whatever you use on Windows/Mac/Linux to import photos from a camera. Check that there's actually no photos in the 'camera' that is your iPad. After clearing out my pad, I found a bunch of small, unreadable movie files and a few photos left over in this app. I don't know how or why, given the iPhone wasn't showing them, but they were clearly taking up space. You may have somehow ended up with a lot of these.

I admit I am lay user with rudimentary SSL knowledge and I therefore messed up my certificates and I could no longer access my own server (Wikis, WebDav, Device Manager) with Safari. (error: Safari can't connect to server)
Eventually, I could resolve the problem but I do not understand why there was problem in the first place.
Maybe someone can explain that to me ?
OK, here is what I did:
I created a Certificate Authority because I wanted to use a free SSL Server certificate for our private server.
(I followed http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/mac/create-your-own-ssl-ca-with-the-os-x-keycha in/388 )
Despite several attempts I never got the server to accept the certificate for web services, the certificate was accepted for iCal, Mail and iChat but not for Web services. I tested an older certificate that was created when I set up the server and that that worked for all services incl. Web. So the problem was with my certificate only.
Out of desperation and lack of concentration I deleted the "original" certificate.
Now, I soon noticed that I could no longer log in to my server. I solved the problem by restoring the original certificate.
My question:
I had SSL disabled in the Server app settings. Why does Safari still look for a proper certicate ? (the server logfile had an entry that a .pem file could not be found which makes sense if the cert has been deleted)
I would be very grateful for an expert advice.

Because....
the server does not have a 'trusted' certificate assigned to it.
Only the RDP Gateway has the trusted certificate for the external name.
If you want to remove that error, you have to do one of the following:
Make sure your domain uses a public top level domaim, and get a public trusted certificate for your server.
So, something like,
server.domain.publicdomain.com
Or,
Install that certificate on your remote computer so it is trusted.

ISCSI initiator not connecting after upgradation

HI,
iSCSI initiator not connecting after upgradation from windows 2003 STD to windows 2008 STD R2 server, upgradation was successfully completed, except Microsoft iSCSI initiator connectivity, the initiaor interface show it as 'reconnecting'....!!!!!
Kindly guide on this.

While searching for the file names start with iscsi in c:\windows\system32 folder the file version is 5.2.3790.3825 in working windows 2003 server.
Recently I've downloaded (Not yet installed) iSCSI initiator for Windows 2008 from Microsoft website in that iSCSI initiator file version shown as 6.3.4.1, instead of using inbuilt Microsoft iSCSI initiator in W2K8, shall I try installing the downloaded
version,
because when I checked in Windows 2008 (Upgraded version) the iSCSI file version remains the same as 5.2.3790.3825 which was found in windows 2003.

Actually we have configure Window server 20082 Storage server.We have NAS drive configured which have 300GB quota limit. The actual data in the folder is 185 GB but it shows only 15 GB free and shows a warning .Please assist me why NAS server does not re-calculate

As you mentioned "quota limit", it is set via FSRM or specific function on NAS?
Meanwhile could you confirm the number 185GB is accurate? Sometimes a part of used space is just not calculated. You can confirm with checking the total space on NAS locally.
If the number is correct and quota is set via FSRM, check if it is the Disk Quota which not re-calculated the released space. Try to clear the Quota setting and reconfig with 300GB limitation and see if issue still exists.

After deleting Calendar users, their subscriptions still remain, and the server crashes when accessing deleted calendars

After deleting users from iPlanet Calendar Server(iCS), the users'
subscriptions still remain. Then, if a user tries to unsubscribe
from a deleted calendar, the server sometimes crashes, even though sufficient
disk space and memory are available. When checking the HTTP log, the
log shows that certain calendars don't exist.
The solution to this problem is to back up the ics50gse.db
file to another file with a different
name, or remove the file from the db
directory.

If you are upgrading your iCS, make sure the GSE database queue is empty
before you perform the upgrade. To check the GSE database queue,
you can use either of the following commands while the server is either
running or stopped:

csschedule list
OR
csdb -v list

After issuing the command, if nothing is displayed, the GSE queue is empty, and
you can proceed to step 3 below. However, if the queue does contain
items, use the following steps to flush it:

<LI>Start the server if the server is in a stopped state.

<LI>Stop only the cshttpd
daemon so that no new requests can
come in.

Note: It should take only a few minutes for the GSE to handle any requests.
Typically, the GSE queue will be empty.

I enhanced one component then after some reason i deleted the enhanced view at that time it's asked do you want to delete bsp application i click on yes then after also still i showing in se 80 under my package it's showing.
after deleting enhancement view and deleted enhancement component.
after deleting these total still all the z classes are showing in sm24. if i enhance from starting on wards from enhancing component and enhancing view i need to new bsp application name because previous bsp application is still showing and some of the context class. after transporting in to quality server this component is showing there is context class which i redefine in the development and view is not defined in the run time repository. why it's showing these errors in quality server.
my guess is in dev i deleted which are deleted still the classes and bsp application are there older one if provide new bsp classes also.
what are important things we need to follow if delete the view enhancement and deleting the component enhancement. because if i transport after deleting with new bsp application name and with a previous existing class with a new request also it's not working quality server. because lot of classes are generating automatically in when we redefine the context class in development so these classes are not there in quality server.
please guide me if delete any enhanced view and component why still bsp application and redefine z classes are showing in se80 and se24. because if enhance newly also and redefine also it's considering previous bsp application and previous redefine classes.

You should follow the following SAP Note in deleting enhancements. There are a few steps to be done in SM34. If we just delete through the wizard we are bound to have these issues.
SAP Note 1122248 - Consultation:Procedure when dealing w/framework enhancements
Briefly, these are the steps to delete the enhancemnet-
1) In SM34, view BSPWDVC_CMP_EXT. Select enhancement set and then select enhancement definition. You will see your component there.
2) Select your component and in left side navigation click Controller Substitutes.
3) A list of the enhanced views are displayed.
4) Select the views and delete it. Before you delete make a note of the BSP application these views are attached to. Hopefully, you attached them in a Z BSP application
5) Go to SE80. Select the Z BSP application and delete it.
Go through the SAP Note to understand the process in more detail.

After delete iSCSI LUN vacant space does not become available

px12-400r, one pool on RAID10 (5,42TB).
Pool divided into 4 iSCSI LUN (2TB+2TB+1TB+0,42TB).
After deleteting one of them (on 2TB), this vacant space in tab "System Status" (over Web Interface) shown in the diagram as the free and "Amount of available space" on Status Bar 2TB (on Device Home Page over Web Interface),
but in tab "Disk Management" shows "Allocated/Available" - "5,42TB/0B" , and new volume or iSCSI LUN can not be added ("In any storage pool does not have enough space to add an iSCSI drive"
Storage in AD. Deleting iSCSI LUN over Web Interface under AD user with storage admin rights.
Rebooting storage did not help. What to do? How to return control of this free disk space?

To be certain that the iSCSI LUN was actually delete, please try this alternate method to check if the LUN is present and if so, deleted.
Go to Drive Management and click on the "volumes" section of your storage pool
Navigate to the iSCSI LUN that should have been deleted/removed
If it is present there, please click on the iSCSI LUN name to show the iSCSI information overview for the LUN, there click on the "delete" option.
If that does not seem to resolve the issue I recommend contacting LenovoEMC support regarding the problem.
