Iscsi TOE... does it worthwhile to get network card that support it ?

Hi all,
I was wondering if purchasing an ethernet card that support iscsi & TOE will improve performance ?
Does the linux kernel for OVM 2.1.5 support ethernet cards with these features ?
If anyone is using successfuly iscsi ethernet cards with OVM, can you share your experience with us ?
Cheers,
Roye

Well the error message is in Swedish but says: The installation program database is damaged. Please contact the Adobe support (which is a hard thing to do!!). I use Windows 7 Home Premium with service pack 1.

  • Datasocket does not work with two network cards

If I have two ethernet card in a PC. The Datasocket server does not work if the second card is enabled. It keeps displaying resolving IP Address. I am wondering if there is a solution for this problem.
    Thanks

Thanks for you reply. One card has a static address(10.20.35.1), which is used for Data socket, and the other card uses a dynamic IP address. The card with dynamic address is only used for connecting the PC to the company’s network.
The second card, when turned on causes the Datasocket server problem. In the Datasocket Server manager I have only two IP addresses under Permissions Groups. (10.20.35.1 and 10.20.35.11. 10.20.35.11 is the IP address of the remote PC with labview application. The Datasocket is used to transfer data between the two PC’s)
I am wondering if my set up for hosts in Datasocket Server manager is not correct.

  • How much does it cost to get help on paid support?

How much does it cost to get help on Adobe paid support?  How do you get to it?

Oh yes, I have done that all ready, even tried to do the safe mode. I was able to get it to work once, since January 22th, however it involved the changing security permissions and even though Adobe was working well, Windows quit working well. So I again did another fresh install of Windows around January 26th. This is how long I have been trying to work on this issue. sighhhh My brain has almost turned to mush. lol
I have a board up and someone marked it as answered, but it is far from answered. Let me find it:

  • Getting a video card that supports extended desktop mode: AGP? PCI?

Hi guys and gals (and everything in between),
One of the reasons I got a Power Mac not so long ago was the convenience of using two or more displays at once, but then I discovered that the stock ATI Rage 128 in my Gigabit 450 (dual) does not support two displays. (I discovered it the hard way, when I connected a recently acquired Studio display to it, and my trusty CRT stopped getting a signal.)
I won't be using the computer for games, design or anything graphics intensive, mostly word processing (I'm a translator/editor/writer by trade), so I do not need the high end of the video card spectrum --just an AGP card that could allow me to work on extended desktop mode, preferably with an ADC connector. Would a Radeon 7500 suffice?
Or maybe a PCI card? I have read a lot in this forums against getting a PCI card, because of the 33 Mhz bottleneck, but wouldn't it work well enough for checking email and working on 2 or 3 documents at once?
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated!
    Peace.

    Thanks, PB PM.
I also did a little research in the forums and elsewhere (by the way, your posts have been really helpful to me, very knowledgeable and well-documented), and ended up buying a Radeon 7000 PCI for hooking up my VGA monitor, as a cheap solution to my problem.
    Thanks again!

  • Does Sun plan to get around microsofts discontinuing support for Applets?

Or are we all going to have to find some other language?

I've thinking about it these days. And an idea came to me. Well, microsoft decides to disable applets in IE by default. This means that many users who don't know how to reenable applets (and don' even know that the technical term "applet" exists) will lose access to some content they have used before.
What if an user saw the following title instead of the applet (s)he used to see before: "DID YOU LOSE ACCESS TO YOUR FAVORITE WEB APP AFTER UBGRADING TO WIN XP ?", followed by links to some explanations what has happenned, and maybe some VBS, that reenables applets (I have never polluted my mind with VBS, but I'm pretty sure one could change the settings of IE using it, and IT WILL DEFINITELY BE ENABLED by default) ?
The explanations should be written by public relations-experts, not programmers, and should not come too deep into technical stuff (although there could be links to technical explanations).
    SO, MY IDEA IS:
    - Using the JCP we should develop a small site that explains to the users what has happenned and what should be done in order to recover. One could also put there links to Java Plugin, JRE, Java Web Start, HotJava, etc ...
    - We should get as many applet developers as possible to put a link to our site in their web pages - when applets are disabled, a frame with our site should be opened instead. This could be done using an automated search of geocities, yahoo and the like and posting emails ...
There are many people who would be hurt by this microsoft action, so I think many people would support us if we ask.
I have many other ideas too, but I want to hear other opinions too.
And I hope that SUN will give us their backing. Any SUN people around ? Tell me what you think !

  • HT201301 Pages does not show up as an app that supports file sharing in my iTunes.  Why??????

I just downloaded Pages & Open Word onto my iPad because I want to be able to load my recipes from my iMac onto my iPad to use in my kitchen.  When I try to use iTunes to transfer the files, neither app shows up as working with file sharing.  What am I doing wrong?  What app can I use to get these files from my desktop to my iPad?

I have Pages and file sharing is file sharing so step by step....
Connect the iPad to your Mac
    Launch iTunes.
Click on your iPad name under the devices heading on the left sidebar of iTunes. If you are using iTunes 11 and don't see the sidebar go to View>Show sidebar.
Click on the Apps Tab at the top of the iTunes window on the right.
Scroll down to File Sharing Apps
Do you see Pages in that list of Apps?
If you do - click on it.
Now drag any of your Pages files from the desktop into the file sharing window on the right.
    Launch Pages on the iPad.
In thumbnail view - Tap the + sign in the the upper left corner
From the popup window select - Copy from iTunes.
From the next window - select the file that you just dragged into the file sharing window.

I prefer using Firefox, and do all the time. However, this used to happen occasionally, then go away. Now it is happening all the time.
If I try to enter aol email, I receive the message: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing FF process, or restart your system.
And I can find no way to close it when that happens.
Would really like to have this solved. Do not believe it is a computer or internet problem - just had my computer repaired because of a faulty disc drive. It is a three year old Dell, with Windows XP

  • Cannot configure External Network card

I cannot connect externel Network card to the system.OS cannot see the newly installed networkcard. My OS is SOlaris 10 x86 5/08. i tried different types of Network card Realtek,Datalink. Network Card number is D-Linkk DL10038C .Couldnt find any driver for this Network card that support for Solaris.
Can any one help me please....

Probably as stupid question but is there a way to export the driver from OpenSolaris to Solaris 10 as OpenSolaris supports the NIC?
By the way, I don't know if it matters but the info for my NIC on Solaris 10 appears both in */boot/solaris/devicedb/master* and */etc/driver_aliases*. It's just that the system doesn't detect it, when I run ifconfig -a it only lists the loopback interface.

  • Disable Static IP in Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 or Powershell Script to get network "connected to" value

    Hi,
I´m in a situation where I need to disable static IP option on all Domain machines (workstations). I have found many different forum topics about that but nothing is suitable for me. Let me describe a situation:
    * In our environment every computer have specific IP configured in DHCP (specific MAC = specific IP). Machines Must be configured DHCP enabled!
    * In our environment all developers are local admins in their computers. This can´t be changed as we are IT corporation and this is our policy.
    * As every IP have specific rights in Firewall to access different places then some IT guys are quite smart to change their IP to static IP that have more access then they should have.
This last thing is my main problem! We have working PKI and NPS in both WLAN and LAN so only domain and certified computers can have access to our local network. My mission is to prevent local admins to change IP addressess by themselves but I can´t find
a good solution for doing that. I have tought about Powershell script that is published by SCCM or GPO to all workstations and script idea is to find network card that is "connected to" our "domain.com" network. If this is true then automatically
DHCP will be enabled for that interface (Set-NetIPInterface -Dhcp Enabled). I know that here is an open window for some moment when script will be ran again or GPO policy will be refreshed but it´s better then nothing. In this script I have one problem - I
can´t find a solution about how to find network interface that is connected to our "domain.com"? It seems that there is no easy way to do that.
Is there any other and better solution to accomplished this situation. Any good ideas will be appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Taavi

    Hi,
the real answer is the one you don't want to hear: don't make your users local admninistrators.
Local administrators will always be able to get araound any security measurement you put in place. For gpo's for example, they can identify the involved registry key, configure it to their desired value and
remove privileges for everyone but themselves to write the key. Upcoming 'gpupdate' will not be able to write the values...
For your script, I would recommend to just configure all adapters to dhcp on the client computers. After all the location detection depends on the network Location Awareness service. If your users disable that one (an rermove the appropriate privileges from
registry ;) ) your script would again be useless.
That being said, as you post to the security forums my answer is focussed on the security off your solution. if you need assistance in creating this script, I would advice to post back in the Scripting guys forums (and leave out the why as you will otherwise
agin be pointed on the flawed security ;) )
I think get-connectionprofile might already be helpull on 8.1

  • Edge E530 network card - 'no link'

    Hello,
My Thinkpad edge of nearly 2 years has as of today stopped showing a carrier signal on it's network port.
This follows constant use under Slackware 14 since purchase (have tested with stock OS and knoppix). The first sign of trouble was in april this year when plugging in to a specific client network caused the transfer speed to slow to a permanent crawl after dhcp, and may have been triggered by plugging in to a bad wall socket at another site today.
Anyone had luck replacing them, are they too much hassle, and is there a good usb network card that could do the trick?
Shame to lose it, really liked these - and bought them for clients too.

Does the order in which you boot up the VMs have any impact on which one can reach the internet?
Such as; the first one that boots always gets out, no matter the VM.
This would point to a MAC limiting feature on your physical switch.
The other is, since you have teamed NICs, do both have active connections.

  • Replacement wired network card and driver for G4/OSX 10.3.9???

Does anyone know of a wired network card that will work in a Mac (with or without a driver) when the one on the mother board is not longer functioning? It seems that my built-in Ethernet card was fried in a recent electrical storm and I'm looking for a replacement so I can connect to the internet again. My cable internet modem and cables were replaced after the storm and have been determined to be in working order.
No theories, please -- I'm looking for a proven solution.

    Hi
I found the Kingston KNE100TX (NB not KNE110TX) to be satisfactory in my B&W G3.
Drivers required and available from Kingston up to OS9. No drivers required for OSX. See
    http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/OSX/osx_networkcards.html#kingston
(There are other reports in this linked page but my experience is with the KNE100TX)
