ISE and Auto Smartports

I am testing ISE and Auto Smartports and i got the execution of the macro via ISE working.
However, it seems i MUST enable globally "macro auto global processing " before it the macro is really executed.
I would like to avoid this, as enabling this globally, it will automatically run all standard cisco macros for phones, AP, etc.
To prevent this, i need to configure "no macro auto processing" on each and every interface...
Isn't there another way to enable macros but not run the default macros on all ports. Only run -custom- macros when triggered by ISE ?

Geert

You may need to create a Cisco TAC case for this.
If not, then move this thread to the EEM section.  If the Moto AP supports CDP then you can get someone (like Joe Clark) to build a small EEM script.
EEM is supported up to the 3560/3750.

  • Auto Smartport Macros

I'm looking for a little advice.
    Background
I've got Auto SmartPort Macros working on the newest firmware for my 2960x switches for all of my devices.  15.2(3)E
However I'm having some buggy issues with 15.2(3)E.  If it's a small stack of 2 switches, no problems at all.  However I tested on a 7 switch stack and repeatedly lost connectivity to the stack.  Here are more details on that specific issue.
    Cisco Suggested Firmware
The "Cisco Suggested" firmware is 15.0(2)EX5 (Based on what the download section tells you)
However when I'm running 15.0(2)EX5 the switch is unable to automatically detect my Cisco 7821/7841/8841/8831 phones and my CAP702i APs.
I'm assuming it's because the devices are actually newer than the Suggested Firmware.
Here is a 7821 Example, it knows the model but not that it should fall in the Cisco IP Phone category...
    Here is a CAP702i:
    The actual questions
Is there a way (besides updating the firmware) to add to the known devices list?  "sh macro auto monitor"
I've considered adding all of the OUIs, there are about 6 that I've found.  Is that my best solution?
If I start filling the switch up with OUIs to detect, am I going to have a performance hit?
Is anyone running 15.2(3)E in production?  Feedback?  Should I stay with the Cisco Suggested?
Is there any indication of when the next firmware rev will be released?
Thanks for any input and advice you can give.
    -Mike

    Hi Brademeyer29,
what you see unfortunately it is not configuration issue. This has been reported to the engineering team and should be fixed in the next release firmware 1.4.1.
For now you will have to use workaround such as not changing native VLAN or not to use smartport.
    Regards,
    Aleksandra

  • Auto Smartports with non-Cisco devices

I have used auto smartports in the past and have been successful creating macros that use mac-addresses.
My question is can I create a macro that works with non-Cisco devices that are CDP capable?
We have Motorolla access points that use CDP and I would like to use auto smartports to put them on their own VLANs.
Can it be done using CDP?  What version of the IOS would I need to be on?  Currently the 3750-Xs are on 12.2.(55).
Are there any guides or configuration examples?  I've searched but have been unsuccessful in find anything so far.
I have seen some articles that reference device sensors and device profiles, but have no idea where to begin.
Thanks in advance for your support.

  • Problems with .ARW files and auto toning

problems with .ARW files and auto toning
let me try to explain this because this has happened in past and never found a way to resolve but i lived with it
now that I have a Sony A7R the problem is more serious
Firstly i take pride it making the picture happen all in camera, i use DRO lvl 5 to get enough light, like when i'm shooting at dusk. DRO its like doing HDR but in a single file, it lightens the darks. in my camera i'm happy with results
but when I upload them to lightroom, they come out near black.
    allow me to explain
lets say I import 100 images
i double check my preferences and everything is UNCHECKED when it comes to importing options, there is no auto toning, nothing.
as the images import i see a preview in the thumbnail which looks fine.
i double click on one to enlarge it, hence leave grid view.
for a brief 1 or 2 seconds, i see the full image in all its glory but than lightroom does something funny, it darkens the image
one by one as it inspects each image, if it was a DRO image it makes it too dark.
to make this clear, the image is perfect as it was in the beginning but after a few seconds lightroom for some reason thinks it needs to correct it.
how to prevent lightroom from doing this, i want the image exactly as it is, why must lightroom apply a correction>?
i think it has to do something with interpreting the raw file and lightroom applies its own algorithm.
but here is what i dont get.....before lightroom makes the change i'm able to witness the picture exactly as it was taken and want it unchanged..
now i have to tweak each file or find a profile for it which is added work.
any ideas how to prevent lightroom from ruining my images and just leave them as they were when first detected...
there are 2 phases...one is when it originally imports and they look fine
second is scanning each image and applying some kind of toning which darkens it too much.
    thanks for the help

sorry thats the auto reply message from yahoo email.
    i've disabled it now
thing is, there is no DRO jpg to download from the camera
its only ARW. so my understanding is when i use DRO setting, the camera makes changes to the ARW than lightroom somehow reads this from the ARW.
but then sadly reverts it to no DRO settings.
because i notice if i take normal picture in raw mode its dark but if i apply dro to it, it comes out brighter, yet when i d/l the image from camera to lightroom, which is an ARW - there are no jpgs. lightroom decides to mess it up
so in reality there is no point in using DRO because when i upload it lightroom removes it.
is there a way to tell lightroom to preserve the jpg preview as it first sees it.
its just lame, picture appears perfect...than lightroom does something, than bam, its ruined,.
what do i need to do to prevent lightroom from ruining the image? if it was good in the first place.

In  general, the Trustsec design and deployment guides address the specific  support for the various features of the 'whole' Cisco TS (and other  security) solution frameworks.  And then a drill-down (usually the  proper links are embedded) to the specifc feature, and then that feature  on a given device.  TS 2.1 defines the use of ISE or ACS5 as the policy  server, and confiugration examples for the platforms will include and  refer to them.

  • How can I continuously auto-save and auto-name the JPEG files with a controlled time interval

    Hi,
I am newly involved in some Labview projects that out of my knowledge. I am trying to save multiple JPEG images from a live imaging task to a folder in the computer hard disk every certain minutes. I'd like to name these files with the date and time (eg. Img_06012011_1635. jpg). Then, after hours long image capturing, I can have all the image files in a neat order.
My goal is to have the jpg files auto saved and auto-named with the data and time at that moment. I also need to control this waiting time between each savings.
Could you please show me some hints about this? See the vi attached, I know I need to do something on the "write path" part on the up right corner. Thanks!
    Solved!

Thanks, Steve. When I built up a path with the date and time info and send them to the WriteJPEG File.vi like you mentioned, it stopped saving any files into the folder. Do you think this is the problem from my while loop?Could you show me if there is any other secret functions that restrains the file saving?
I am planning to save the image files every 30 secs, for example, and then I can have a bunch of jpg files with their unique names after hours long image acquisition.
    I appreciate you kindly help!

  • ISE and WLC for posture remediation

Please can anybody clarify a few things in relation to ISE and wireless posture.
    1) Is the ACL-POSTURE-REDIRECT used for remediation, or is it just an ACL to redirect only some traffic to kickoff posture checking?
    2) Can/Should a dACL/wACL be specified as a remediation ACL?
    3) Do the WLC ACLs have to be written in long format (manually specifying source and dest ports/doesny direction any work?)
    4) Does anybody have working example ACLs for posture redirect (cpp) and remediation (dACL)?
    5) Any other advice or pointers would be helpful too as no docs i have found so far, be it TrustSec2, CiscoLive or anything else, dont seem to help me understand WLC posture and remediation
    thanks
    Nick

    Nick,
    Answers are inline:
    1) Is the ACL-POSTURE-REDIRECT used for remediation, or is it just an  ACL to redirect only some traffic to kickoff posture checking? This is for both (if ports 8905..are included) then this is for initial redirection, and remediation
    2) Can/Should a dACL/wACL be specified as a remediation ACL? Wireless does not support DACL, you will have to reference another ACL in the the authorization policy, the new versions have the Airespace ACL field, where you will have the ACL defined locally on the wlc.
    3) Do the WLC ACLs have to be written in long format (manually specifying source and dest ports/doesny direction any work?) Yes you have to add two entries, for example for all traffic redirection to ise...source = any, destination=iseipadd, source port=any, destination port=any direction=any action=permit
source=iseipaddr, destination ip = any, source port=any, destination port=any, direction=any action permit. Its not the easiest but I will attach a screenshot that will show you my example.
    4) Does anybody have working example ACLs for posture redirect (cpp) and remediation (dACL)? ISE doesnt support DACLs so when you build your authorization profile in ISE you select the web authentication type (Posture Discovery) after that the ACL field will come up, there you will "call" the posture ACL which is defined on your controller.
    5)  Any other advice or pointers would be helpful too as no docs i have  found so far, be it TrustSec2, CiscoLive or anything else, dont seem to  help me understand WLC posture and remediation Keep in mind that you have to have radius NAC and AAA override enabled under the advanced settings for COA to work.
You have to turn on COA under the global settings in ISE (Administration > Profiling > Coa Type > Reauth)
Then you have to build your policies so that when a user connects to the network they are redirected to the download the nac agent (this is where the Posture Discovery and redirect ACL work in tandem).
Once the client download the nac agent and is compliant the report is forwarded to ISE where a COA event is triggered.
Then the client will reauthenticate and will hit another policy that will give them access once their machine is compliant, you can set the ACLs for restricted access, use dynamic vlan assignment, or just send the access-accept.
    Thanks,
    Tarik Admani

  • CoA issues between ISE and 3750x

We are having an issue using the cisco ise 1.1.2 and a 3750x (Version 12.2(58)SE2)
When the radius sends a reauthentication CoA message to the switch, the switch responds with a 'session contect not found' reply. I have upgraded the code to the latest levels on both the ise and switch and still have the same resultts.
This reauthenticate is needed after the NAC profiler determines the pc is complient. I am receiving the complient message from the pc and switch, but becuase the switch never reauthentices the client after the CoA request, the client is never granted full access.
I am not sure if the radius server is sending the wrong session id, or if the switch is looking at it wrong.
    Please Help...!!!!!

As per the cisco recommendation IOSv12.2(52)SE is suitable for Catalyst 3750-X which will support all  the features without any issues like  MAB,802.1X,CWA,LWA,COA,VLAN,DACL,SAG as mentioned in the link below:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ise/1.1.1/compatibility/ise_sdt.html.
I see you are using IOSv12.2(58)SE2,which is not recommended. So you can  downgrade to IOSv12.2(52)SE which will solve your issues.

  • Cisco ISE and SecurID Integration Questions

I'm looking for some clarity trying to understand something conceptually. I want to integrate Cisco ISE with RSA SecurID, the idea being that if the user authenticates with RSA SecurID they end up on one VLAN, however, if they don't authenticate with (or don't use, or don't have) SecurID they'll end up on another VLAN. Note that I'm not using SecurID for wireless access...all PCs are wired to Ethernet.
We have been using RSA SecurID for a while and are currently on version 8.0. Our users are authenticating via the RSA Agent typically on Windows 8.1. Instead of the usual Windows login prompt, the RSA Agent first prompts for the username and passcode (they use an app on their smartphones to get the passcode), then after a moment or two, it prompts for their Windows domain password.
We have recently installed Cisco ISE version 1.3. With the help of a local Cisco engineer and going through the "Cisco Identity Services Engine User Guide", I have it set up and running along with a few 'test' ports on our Cisco 6809 switch, it basically works...as a test it's simply set up that if they authenticate they're on one VLAN, if not, they end up on another (this is currently without using RSA...just out-of-the-box Windows authentication).
The Cisco engineer was unable to help me with RSA SecurID, so pressing on without him, out of the same user guide I have followed the directions for "RSA Identity Sources" under the "Managing Users and External Identity Sources", and that went well as far as ISE is concerned; I am now ready to get serious about getting ISE and SecurID working together.
My mistake in this design so far was assuming that the RSA agent on the Windows client PCs would communicate with Cisco ISE...there doesn't seem to be a way to have them point to a non-RSA SecurID server for authentication. The concept I'm missing is what, or how, the end-user machine is supposed to authenticate taking advantage of both ISE and SecurID.
I have dug deeper into the Cisco ISE documentation but it seems heavily biased towards Wi-Fi and BYOD implementations and it's not clear to me what applies to wired vs wireless. Perhaps it's a case that I'm not seeing the forest for the trees, but I'm not understanding what the end-user authentication looks like. It apears that as I learn more about ISE, it should become the primary SSO source, that SecurID becomes just an identity source and the PC clients would no-longer directly communicate with the SecurID servers. That being the case, do I need to replace the SecurID client on the PCs and something else Cisco-ish fills this role? An agent for ISE? How do they continue to use their passcode without the RSA agent?
    Thanks!

The external db not operation indicates that there is no communication between ACS and RSA. Did you fetch the package.cab file to analyse the auth.log file?

  • Confused about the use of TONE and AUTO buttons

After moving an image from Library module to Develop moddule (in LR4) , I open the basic panel.  In the basic panel, I see two text buttons: TONE and AUTO.  The AUTO button seems to be the default setting. I could re-adjusst the tones  as it requires.  I have no problem with the ATTO button.
When I press the AUTO button, the TONE button is activated.  Then, colors and tones changed immediately.    When I move one of the tonal sliders (e.g., Exposrure), it activates the AUTO button.  I thought that the TONE button was intended to use for manual tonal change. I am  confused.  What is the TONE button for?

    hummer,
    Tone isn't a button, it's just a label.
When you push the Auto button, it becomes de-activated because the tone sliders have been moved to where Auto thinks they ought to be. When you then move one of the sliders, the button becomes activated again because the sliders are no longer where Auto wants them, and you can push it again to take the sliders back to where it put them the first time.

  • Passwords and Auto Fill not working...

All of a sudden, new passwords are not being retained and auto fill doesn't work at all. I've repaired permissions, checked every setting I can think of. What should I try next?
    Thanks,

I had a similar problem with autofill. Repairing permissions with Onyx seemed to work. (But first, double-check that Autofill is enabled and your "me" Address Book card is correct.)

  • Can I charge my I Pad Gen1 with my charger from my I Phone 3? I bought it used , I have not received it yet, need to know because I have the regular charger and auto.

Hi  I bought an I Pad Gen1, used, with no accessories, will my I Phone 3 charger, wall and auto work with it or do I need to buy another? Have not received it yet( ebay). Please advise. Thank you.

Your iPhone charger is 5W, whereas the iPad 1 charger is 10W. The iPhone charger will work, but the charge time will be more than double. If you buy a new charger, get the iPad 4 charger which is 12W. It will charge faster than the 10W charger.
    FYI
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.
