ISE installation Suggestion required

Dear All,
This is sarveswaran and am working as a network engineer.
We have recently bought the ISE server and one 2504 WLC and two 3650 WLC.
Below are the agenda
Install the access points into the floor on the 3650 WLC and through the ISE authentication should takes place. Also we wanted to restrict the wireless access only to Domain users.
For Guest users, the authentication should takes place in the ISE. once validated, the guest will need to get the internet from 2504 WLC which we placed into the DMZ Zone. The reason why is to make sure the guest user doesnt want to enter into the network.
Whether ISE supports NIC redundancy, other than CIMC.
Expecting your feedback/suggestion and let me know if required any additional information.

Performing "offline" compliance module update to new ISE installation

Hi everybody,
I am just wondering if anyone knows how perform compliance module on a new ISE installation to get the AV and AS updates, while the ISE is "offline", (not connected to Cisco/Internet).
The ISE has Advance Service license, but the customer's security poilcy prohibits connecting any device on their IntraNet to the internet, and if there is any updates to get from the Internet, then it has to be received on the internet network and manually transport it to the IntraNet.

To upload offline posture updates, complete the following steps:
Step 1 Go to https://www.cisco.com/web/secure/pmbu/posture-offline.html .
Save the posture-offline.zip file to your local system. This file is used to update the operating system information, checks, rules, and antivirus and antispyware support charts for Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
Step 2 Access the Cisco ISE administrator user interface and choose Administration > System > Settings > Posture .
Step 3 Click the arrow to view the settings for posture.
Step 4 Choose Updates . The Posture Updates page appears.
Step 5 From the Posture Updates page, choose the Offline option.
Step 6 From the File to update field, click Browse to locate the single archive file (posture-offline.zip) from the local folder on your system.
Note The File to update field is a required field. You can only select a single archive file (.zip) that contains the appropriate files. Archive files other than .zip (like .tar, and .gz) are not allowed.
Step 7 Click the Update Now button.
Once updated, the Posture Updates page displays the current Cisco updates version information under Update Information.

Cisco ISE installation on VMware Workstation ?

I am trying to install Cisco ISE image through Vmaware Workstation , but after starting VM getting redhat console but not the same console required for setup of actual ISE . Would like to know whether VMware workstation supported for ISE installation as all the cisco docs specifies the image to be mounted on ESX server, then login to client to run setup.. Please help...

Cisco "Officially" supports VMWare's ESXi/vSphere platform. Yes, ISE works in VMWare Workstation, but is not tested on every hardware platform available, therefore, not supported. The the case mentioned above,
I've started installing ISE 1.2 (redhat linux 5 64 bit) , looking at the posts above.. on VMware workstation 9..
1stly I gave 6gb ram ( my laptop has 6 gb ram & 290gb free space ) and started the installation process..
then after the starting stage of checking the requirements of my laptop started and the formatting of the disk began , my lap became very slow & it got hanged there..all my pc processes moved like snails..!! got frustated..
then I restarted my lap and this time I gave 4gb ram .. and it worked fine from then on..
can anyone tell me , if this has to do anthing with the physical memory we give over there in the ise installtion process..does it actually use the entire ram we mention over there..??

All possible System RAM was allocated to the ISE VM, and the ISE VM used ALL of the RAM leaving none for the host OS, thereby slowing the machine to a crawl. Once this Virtual RAM was sized to the ISE minimum of 4GB (leaving 2GB dedicated to the host OS), the machine worked correctly. Yes, the ISE VM will happily use ALL the RAM allocated to it.
This is also the reason that Virtual Box and other "Desktop" class virtualization environments cannot be supported across the board. Nearly every machine hosting VMWare Workstation, Virtual Box, etc... has a different chipset, video card, HD controller, and on, and on...
The best thing to do for your situation is to try to install it. If it works, document your EXACT system configuration and the EXACT virtual configuration so that you may look back to it for future installs. You can also use this information to "tweak" the virtual settings until you get a combination that works for you. This will help to document the configurations that do not work on YOUR desktop environment.

1. Shall we have 2 system landscape for All-in-One systems. System1(DEV Server)-having single instance with 2 clients 100 - DEV and 200 - QAS and System2(PRD server) having single instance with one client 100-PRD.
2. In our Server, we deployed All-in-One component for country specific of Arabic, is it possible to have another country specific of India in the same server on different client. (100 - Arabic and 200 - India).

How to migrate a two node ISE installation to a six node ISE installation

How do we migrate from a two node ISE installation where the primary ISE has IP address A and the
secondary has IP address B to a six node ISE distributed installation with one primary admin ISE,
one secondary admin ISE, one primary monitoring ISE, one secondary monitoring ISE and
one PSN ISE with IP address A and finaly one PSN ISE with IP address B?
It is a production environment so we want to do the transition with minimal service impact.

I would assume your current setup is
Node 1 - Primary Admin, Secondary Monitor, PSN
Node 2 - Secondary Admin, Primary Monitor, PSN
Here is a high-level overview of what I think should be done. Keep in mind that it is only my opinion and ultimately I would recommend working with TAC to validate the process to ensure there is minimal impact.
TAKE A BACKUP of Configuration and Operational data.
Install the additional 4 nodes.
Register one as the secondary monitor. This should remove the secondary monitoring role from the other node.
Register another node as the primary monitor. This should remove the primary monitoring role from the other node.
Register the last two nodes as administration nodes in the same process, doing the secondary admin node first, then finally the primary admin node. This should leave the remaining PSN personas installed as the only persona on the original admin nodes.

Build installer LV2009, requires OLD distribution installation disks?

When building an Installer using LabVIEW 2009, and including additional distributions, why does the installer builder require the original distribution disks from the install DVD/CDs? Why are the version required not promoted to the LATEST update installed? This is a real PITA when I have to go find the disks from 1Q2009, no wait, it did not ask for that, it asked for Feb 2009 device drivers disk 2.
This is as bad as Microsoft for installing from original distributions.
It is not a good thing to expect that I have to maintain a library of DVDs/CDs for every distribution/update I have ever used. Especially when I am taking work home, and do not have access to this ENTIRE library, rather a copy of the lasest update ONLY.

Thanks Craig... BUT, I only have LabVIEW 2009 Intalled. although I have upgraded components through the quartely updates. So while what you say is true... it does NOT necessarly mean that you have 'multiple' versions of the LabVIEW development environment installed
That said... I have been at this for a little while (more than a day, but less than the time since dinosaurs walked)... and app building is something that has become much more complicated over time... I want to know WHY NI does not promote the installers/distributions to the most current version on the update DVD/CD where applicable... but you bring up a good point... If it cannot promote the distribution, it should give you a warning and ASK you if you wish to 'cache' the obsolete distribution as it does when building the current distribution. This gives you an option to cache it WHILE the distribution is handy.
Failing that, in the project, there should be an option to have it display the currently required distributions as opposed to having to build the installer object, start the installer build, then wait for it to ask you.... by then it maybe too late.
I realize that you are trying to help/offer workarounds... I appreciate what you are trying to do... BUT, in this case, I want NI's people to justify what they are doing and why. This goes beyond wish list, this requires justification, as even Microsoft has addressed this issue.

Suggestions Required While Doing Idoc To File Scenario

Hi All,
My scenario is Idoc To File. I have to take the Purchase Order Idoc from system "A" and send it as a XML file to system"B".
The problem here is, i have three types of PO Idoc's with different fields.
1) Purchase Order (Fields : PO Number, date, vendor, material and quantity)
2) Delivery with serial number ( Fields : delivery number, est date, vendor, material, serial and quantity)
3) Delivery using serial number with subcontracting repair ( Fields :
PO Number, date, vendor, material, serial and quantity).
I have to convert all the above PO Idoc's into Xml file format and send it to system "B".
Here i have three different Idocs one per Purchase Order , one per Delivery with serial number and one per Delivery using serial number with subcontracting repair .
My question is, shall i need to create three different scenario's for the above requirement or shall i create only one scenario with all the fileds in file structure.
Is it possible by creating only scenario, to handle the above situation. If so where can i handle the conditions saying that the File Structure
for Purchase Order should be (With Fields : PO Number, date, vendor, material and quantity) ,
for Delivery with serial number should be (With Fields : delivery number, est date, vendor, material, serial and quantity) and

My requirement is i will process only one Idoc at a time either it may be Purchase order or Delivery with serial number or Delivery using serial number with subcontracting repair . So no chance of multiple targets. For example
First time i may process Idoc related to Purchase Order then at that time only fields ( PO Number, date, vendor, material and quantity) should convert into Xml file and pass it to system "B".
Second time i may process Idoc related to Delivery with serial number then at that time only fields ( delivery number, est date, vendor, material, serial and quantity) should convert into Xml file and pass it to system "B".
Third time i may process Idoc related to Delivery using serial number with subcontracting repair then at that time only fields ( PO Number, date, vendor, material, serial and quantity) should convert into Xml file and pass it to system "B".
In all the cases the target is same "B" system.
I think now it is clear.

Installation of required support files for previous version in 8.1.7

Hello, can anyone please help me?
I have upgraded to Oracle 8.1.7 and I need
to install required support files for
Oracle 7.3.4 (to keep some applications running).
The only way I know how to do it, is to reinstall
Oracle 8.0.5 add required support files for Oracle 7.3.4 and
then upgrade to Oracle 8.1.7.
Is there any quicker way of doing it, directly in Oracle 8.1.7?
I could not find option similar to Oracle 8.0.5 to add files.

not a problem w/co-existing, however, I need to install required

Installation and required disk space

I have just gone to install Leopard on my iBook. In the installation process when I select the hard drive on which I want to install on, it say that I need something like 6 gigs of free space. I only have 5 gigs free, so will this mean that I need to delete some files to have 6 gigs free and then when I install I'll have no space left on my hard drive and therefore need to delete a whole lot more stuff?

In general you need 15% more free disk space than required specs to get best performance. This number is arbitrary.

Suggestions required for transferring cost from GL account to a Project

We have a requirement where we want to transfer cost captured in GL to PA in a specific project.
For example:
Incurred a misc cost 100 (outside project) and posted to GL (a/c 600010)
Dr 60010, Cr 120010
Later, realized this should be absorbed as a project cost (a/c 220010)
We need some mechanism to capture cost in project ABC such that Dr 220010, Cr 600010
If we use Web ADI to upload 'Costed' transactions: Dr 220010 Cr <NULL> (GL Transfer Status - Accepted)
If we use Web ADI to upload 'Accounted' transaction: Dr 220010 Cr 600010 (GL Transfer Status - Received), but in this case the entry is no passed to GL, to nullify the a/c balance in 600010
Appreciate suggestions from experts, to address the requirement.

You can reverse the transaction posted in GL.
Then load the amount to Projects, as costed, not accounted EI.
When distributing the cost in PA it will generate the right accounting, and you could interface it to GL.

ISE installation - reimaging issue

Hi,
Today I was installing ISE on 3355 appliances those will run all services (standalone), when installation completed I was not able to login to the CLI. I think the keyboard I used had issue (typed extra charachter or something). This was a pre-loaded OS.
I downloaded (ise-ipep-1.2.0-899.i386.iso) and tried password recovery booting appliance with (ise-ipep-1.2.0-899.i386.iso), after changing the password I saved configs and tried logging using the new password. But I could not login again.
Then I tried to re-install ISE using (ise-ipep-1.2.0-899.i386.iso). After the installation was completed, I entered setup command and an error poped up on the screen. "input/output errors occured while installation".
Question 1: Is the following iso only for a posture node installation or I could use this for ISE standalone deployment?
