ISE - My Devices Device Count

Hi, I hope someone can help. I've got an ISE 1.2.1 deployment that is integrated to AD. We have users authenticating via AD, they register and manage their devices in the My Devices Portal. I have limited the device count to 3 devices per user. I have an exception to this where I would like a single user to register between 10-20 devices. Is it possible to have this user configured for a different device count than every other user(the global setting)? I've had a look through my ISE and some configuration guides and cannot see if this is possible.
I can have this user configured either as a local user on ISE or on AD if that helps influence any configuration?
Thanks for any help.
Kenny

In ISE 1.3 you have guest types feature, for each guest type you can set max device that can be registered

  • Getting "There are no speakers connected to the AirPlay device " device-name "

For the past several years, I have had a stereo receiver hooked up to and airport express to stream music wirelessly from my iMac to stereo speakers.  All of a sudden, I started getting the message "There are no speakers connected to the AirPlay device "<device-name>".  So, what changed, we recently changed ISP from Verizon DSL to RCN cable, I changed my Apple ID (due to the ISP change), I upgraded all computers to OS X Lion, and I have a new iPhone5.  I can't tell you exactly when during the process things went bad, but I can tell you what I have done to solve the problem:
I checked that my devices are configured correctly. The network layout is as follows: I have an Airport Express on the 3rd floor of my house, along with the iMac containing the iTunes library, I have an Airport Express on the 2nd floor acting as a repeater, I have an Airport Express on the 1st floor acting as a repeater and connected to my stereo receiver and 4 speakers.  I control which set of speakers is "on" via the receiver.
I checked that I can get sound out of the speakers via the receiver by selecting FM and got radio to play, so I believe the receiver is ok.
I swapped this receiver with another receiver and got no sound and still the message "there are no speakers connected..."
I moved the Airport Express from the AUX port to the TAPE2 port to check the port.  Still no sound.
I checked the cable with a Bose box and got sound, so I believe the cable is ok.
I plugged a headset directly into the Airport Express and got no sound.
I swapped the 2nd floor and 1st floor Airport Express units, reconfigured the new 1st floor unit to turn on Air Play and still get no sound and the error message.
I am controlling the music using the Remote app on my iPhone.  I have configured the new device to use this library.
I am tired, confused and at a loss.  What can be going on here?

All that I can suggest is that you perform a Factory Default Reset on the Express to wipe the current settings and set it up again.
If you are still having problems after that, you need to take the Express to an Apple Store or Apple Servicer near you to let them have a look at what I suspect is a defective AirPort Express.

  • 'An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation.'

    Hi,
since a while (as far as i am able to roll back system log in event viewer) I am having strange issues in the sys log, as in the subject. It is a warning of disk event 51: 'An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation.'
I have freed up 1/3 of each partition on the harddrive. Any idea where can i keep going to investigate?
    thx

    pogacsa,
I have searched a bit about you issue in microsoft technet, and here's what they have got to say
"An event ID 51 entry is a generic error entry for any type of error that occurs when Windows is paging information to input/output (I/O).
A paging operation occurs when Windows either swaps a page of memory from memory to disk, or when Windows retrieves a page of memory from disk to memory."
In this event, D, DR and FT, they all stand for a certain disk partition number. You can use the Registry or Disk Management to locate the certain disk.
For further information, please refer to the following KBs:

some of the resolutions mentioned there require you to modify your registry. Please DONOT attempt to modify the registry if you dont have enough prior knowledge about it

  • An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0 during a paging operation.

    Hi
I have a Dell PE 2850 running Windows Server 2003 which is attached via SCSI to a Power Vault 220 SCSI disk enclosure.
The server is beeping and in the eventvwr I see the following message:
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0 during a paging operation.
There are no disk failure lights on the server so what is causing these errors in the Event Viewer?
    Thanks
    Paul

The "error" doesn't have to mean that the disk is faulty, it's just that that specific write operation might have failed (for unknown reasons).
That's all the light I can shed on it after looking through my event logs, I have a few of those too, but no errors anywhere else.Best regards

  • Bulk Subscribe/Unsubscribe a Service to devices/device profiles

    Hi,
I want to subscribe a xml service to 1000 devices and device profiles.
I know how to do it one by one to a device or to a device profile.
Is there any way to perform the task by any bulk type of action so as that I can do it to all the devices /device profiles at a sinle go.
    Thanks
    Pranjol

For devices, I believe bulk admin allows you to do that.
For device profiles, I'm afraid you're going to have to write your own application.
First you extract the UDP name of all the UDPs you want to update, then you do a getDeviceProfile for each, check if the services already contains the one you want to add, if not, add it, then perform an updateDeviceProfile and repeat.

  • EventId: 32, disk - The driver detected that the device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 has its write cache enabled

Virtualized 2012 R2 Domain Controller running on hyper-V.  Every boot lists the following error three times:
EventId: 32, disk - The driver detected that the device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 has its write cache enabled.
    Data corruption may occur.
Having checked the virtual SCSI disks all have their write cache enabled, is this correct or do I need to take some action to prevent these events?

    Hi,
This is normal and you can't change it. This tells AD that write caching is enabled so it uses a different method to store information.

    Hi,
For finding the exact hard disk you could refer to this article. It is an old article but the structure is not changed:
How to Distinguish a Physical Disk Device from an Event Message
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/159865
Meanwhile for the error message "error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR3 during a paging operation", according to my search result it could be related to fragments. So please try a defragment on your hard disk (if it is the USB disk then perform
a defragment on USB disk) and see the result.

  • ISE Using my device Portal , devices still in pending registration status

    Abstract:
    I'm on ISE 1.2 patch 8.
We want give access wireless to devices mobile using 802.1x with Active Directory. The condition is that he previously the user must register mobile device in "my device portal"
-The corporate user connected from the LAN network,   login in "my device portal"  using their active directory account and register your device.
-The policy defined in ISE indicates that 802.1x users in a group of AD and over condition "RegistredDevices" can access to the network (see screen 1)
-Users access the wireless network from your mobile device by entering its name from AD and finally accesses the network.
-From my "devices portal" devices always shows “Pending” status. All works as expected except for this situation.
    Can you please help?
    Regards,
    Marco Muñoz

It looks like you dont have any provisioning profiles configured.
Under Admin settings make sure client provisioning is enabled. Try to set native supplicant provisioning policy unavailable: to Allow Network Access.

  • ISE 1.2 device registration with MAB only, no client provisioning

    Hello,
Is it possible for AD users (no guest users) to walk through the Device Registration Self Registration without Client Provisioning ?
I do not want to push certificates or native supplicant profiles to client devices.
I would just want AD users to register their MAC address, if MAC is not known. Add the MAC to some sort of group.
Then if MAC is known (in this group), skip registration and allow full access to the VLAN.
Right now, i am stuck on the registration portal that says "The system adminstrator has either nog configured or enabled a policy for your device". ?? It is true that my Client Provisioning screen is empty.
Am i really obliged to use native supplicant provisioning to register my device ?
    GN

    Hi
Device Registration web auth is a process where you can configure user without client provisioning.
In this scenario, the guest user connects to the network with a wireless connection that sends an initial MAB request to the Cisco ISE node. If the user’s MAC address is not in the endpoint identity store or is not marked with an AUP accepted attribute set to true, ISE responds with a URL redirection authorization profile. The URL redirection presents the user with an AUP acceptance page when the user attempts to go to any URL.
    1. A guest user connects to the network using a wireless connection and has a MAC address that is not in the endpoint identity store or is not marked with an AUP accepted attribute set to true, and receives a URL redirection authorization profile. The URL redirection presents the user with a AUP acceptance page when the guest user attempts to go to any URL.
    2. If the guest user accepts the AUP, their MAC address is registered as a new endpoint in the endpoint identity store (assuming the endpoint does not already exist). The new endpoint is marked with an AUP accepted attribute set to true, to track the user’s acceptance of the AUP. An administrator can then assign an endpoint identity group to the endpoint, making a selection from the Guest Management Multi-Portal Configurations page.
    3. If the guest’s endpoint already exists in the endpoint identity store, the AUP accepted attribute is set to true on the existing endpoint. The endpoint’s identity group is then automatically changed to the value selected in the Guest Management Multi-Portal Configurations page.
    4. If the user does not accept the AUP or an error occurs in the creation of the endpoint, an error page appears.
    5. After the endpoint is created or updated, a success page appears, followed by a CoA termination being sent to the NAD/WLC.
    6. After the CoA, the NAD/WLC reauthenticates the user’s connection with a new MAB request. The new authentication finds the endpoint with its associated endpoint identity group, and returns the configured access to the NAD/WLC.

  • ISE 1.2 Device registration problem

I'm trying to get the device registration to work, but keep getting "Device not supported" or "Unable to obtain the user information".
I cannot seem to find any information on those errors from the manuals.
What are the possible solutions to get it working ? If the device is not supported, does it mean, that the profiling failed or something else ?
    ISE 1.2

    Hi Harri,
What kind of authentication are you doing for these users? MAB, Dot1x? Also is this issue seen with all devices, or just a few ( i.e. same type, same vendor...)?
If this is self-registration for guest users, there is a known issue with using Custom Guest Portal. The defect details are given below :
    https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCui77336/?reffering_site=dumpcr
Therefore if you are using the custom portal, can you instead try with a default portal?
    Thanks,
    Aastha
