ISE NEEDS THE INTERNET FOR THE CLIENT PORTAL?

this might seem like a silly question but ill ask anyway.
Out setup is fairly simple
WLC5760 (Code 3.3 i think) ISE 1.2 and a few 2600 series APs.
We have two portals, authenticated guest and Corporate that exist on the ISE.
The issue is this - the page (Portal Page) sometimes does not display on the client browser - independent of the type device and/or OS.
We checked DNS, did wireshark traces etc but it pointed to a network issue.
Eventually, i recreated the environment and noticed something - if i didnt actually have internet connectivity to the outside world, the ISE portal page never came up - My confusion was that why would a local page depend on Internet
I tested a few times and sure enough it was consistent.
I placed back into the customer environment and same issue occurred. I then setup a router to bypass their firewall (checkpoint - perimeter) and it worked consistently.
My thinking was that the Checkpoint was the issue - but again how come?
So, the question is, and looking at the post i know that you guys would need some more technical stuff, why would we seem to require actual Internet for that page to be displayed consistently?

It does require the Internet to check (say google.com) first and then go to ISE. In case anyone has an issue with the ISE portal (other than DNS or IPHONE issues) you may want to check your Internet stability.

    hello again, thank you for ur response, but please can u help me with how i can install the Creme jvm that support applets on the hp compaq t5000 under windows ce.net, because actually i don't have any idea on how we install software on such machine, coz it seems the isntallation on them it different than the normal windows xp...... i download the demo creme jvm zip file and i 'm not able to install it, if it is possible can u provide me with step by step instruction, just need to test my application on the demo version first, thank u in advance.....

    We installed 5508 controllers in multiple locations.  We have an existing SNMP mangement system and syslog that will work fine with these 5508's.  We are having issues figuring out an OID that reports current "unique" client associations (with a timestamp/MAC address/IP Address/AP Name/Protocol and 802.11 state). 
    We tried using the NCS reports (every 60 seconds) but, that only gives a historical view of client assocations (and 60 individual emails in an hour).  We would like to have a better reporting technique to show live data with a refresh of 60 seconds of current associated "unique" clinets and what AP they are connected too.  Parsing out historical data in a .CSV format is really painful and inefficient
    Has anyone attempted anything like this?  Would anyone know a good MIB/OID to use for something like this?

    hi i´m a student particularly im new in databes so oracle and i thought that begin with Oracle Database XE Client is a good idea in order to learn and introduce oracle to my self.
    i have installed Oracle Database XE Client on WinXp home when installing it just showed me "transactoin server" port 2030 ; well my problem is next according to installation guide 2.4.1 Configuring for Microsoft Internet Explorer
    To configure Microsoft Internet Explorer to connect to the Oracle Database XE
    Database Home Page:
    1. From the Start menu, select Control Panel, then Internet Options.
    2. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.
    3. Under Security, select Local Intranet and then select Sites.
    4. In the Local Intranet dialog box, select Advanced.
    5. Under Add this Web site to the zone, enter the following site:
    127.0.0.1 i did it.
    Now i have read about installation for XE client and i should see Database Home Page. but i can´t . some one to help?

    The client software is only used to connect to a database server installed on a remote machine. It sounds like you need to download and install the server software, which has the actual database. Note that if you install the database on a machine, you don't need the client software on that machine, so you may want to de-install the client software before you install the database server software.

    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know which licenses needed for the Enterprise Portal from Dynamics AX 2012 R2.
    There are 4 types of user CALs in Dynamics AX 2012 R2 - Enterprise, Functional, Task, and Self Serve. The number of CALs needed is related to who these users are and what they do.

  • PROMOs: know how much more the client needs to spend to be elegible for it

    Hi!
    I'm facing an issue with Promotions. I need to show to the user something like:
    *"You need to add USD $XXX more to be elegible for free shipping"*
    Example: say the client has $95 in the shopping cart, my promotion is applied for users who buy $100+. So it'd say:
    *"You need to add USD $5 more to be elegible for free shipping"*
    Using the Promotion Closeness Qualifier API it only tells me "it is close enough" but it doesn't tell me how HOW close it is.

    The way closenessQualifiers work is, when a promotion is not applied on the cart, the closenessQualifier property of that promotion is executed and if it qualifies, it can be displayed through the OOTB ClosenessQualifier droplet. When they see that and add purchase item worth that quantity, the promotion on which this closenessQualifier is present will be applied on cart.
    For ex: in your case , define Promotion which says Free shipping when order total cost is 100$. Now define a closenessQualifier property with condition "Qualifies for free shipping above 100$." Make this promotion as global and use OOTB ClosenessQualifierDroplet to display closeness message.

    This depends on what exactly you mean by 'my webcenter'.
    If all you want is develop your own webcenter applications (using the WebCenter Framework), you might be good to go only with the webcenter jdev plug-in (see http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/156082.xml#oracle.webcenter.app). Your apps will be deployed to the integrated WLS. There will be two important missing pieces:
    a) WebCenter Content as the document storage (requires also a database)
    b) BPEL/BPM as the workflow engine
    You might also want to install WebCenter Portal: Spaces, or deploy your apps to a separate WebCenter Portal server (running on its own Weblogic Server).
    Optionally, you might also want to utilize other servers contained in the WebCenter Portal license such as Secure Enterprise Search for enterprise searching and/or Oracle Access Manager for enabling single sign-on between the above mentioned components.

    Did you try opening Cisco Connect? when mine was working (before I updated my OS to Mountain Lion) when I opened Cisco Connect it showed both the main & guest passwords & other key info.
    Now if I could just get Cisco Connect udated so it will work again.
