ISE suppported switch IOS version

The table referenced in the new 1.1 ISE guide show 12.2(33)SXI6 is the minimum version for support. Does this mean this version or above? Does anyone know if ISE is tested in newer SXJ streams? We have a massive rollout of SUP 720s to do and need to know the most stable version to load in preparation for ISE. They shipped with SXJ.

This is the minimum version supported, I have had customers upgrade to sxj2 and it works fine.

I' have realy big layer two access network made of etherogenius Cisco switch with different IOS version and train.
My customer bought ISE (ADVANCED AND BASE LICENSE).
As far I read on DS it is seem that if you have Minimum IOS release 12.2(52) SE you are able to perform COA, reading DS with more attention I notice that cisco raccomend IOS versione 12.2(55)SE3 why ? does it means COA does not work with 12.2(52)SE ?
But more important :
I need a minimum IOS release to perform 802.1x on my wired network ?

Here is the guide that states 12.2(52)SE but the foot note states that for 802.1x authentication you need 12.2(55)SE.

After checking the release notes this solution falls under the Cisco Trustsec which is supported on 12.2(55)SE, there are several features released in 12.2(55)SE such has vlan assignment in multi-auth mode that makes it much easier for Cisco help generate initial configs for their customers.

Cryptographic IOS versions on Catalyst Switches

1. Where can one find the differences between Catalyst switch IOS with cryptographic features and without cryptographic features?
2. In order to access Cat switches over SSH and HTTPS, do we require Cryptographic versions of the Cat IOS?
3. What does "k9" stands for in IOS names? e.g. "3560-ipservicesk9"

Yes you need Cryptographic version
Answer to Q3 :
K9 stand for Cryptographic version if you have ipservicesk9 you can do SSH in the feature navigator if you search the ios without K9 you will find this :
IP SERVICES W/O Crypto
that means this catos does not support Cryptographic.

Best IOS version for 3750 switch

I have just received 2 3750 switches, but both have a different IOS version.
One has -> IOS version 12.1(19)EA1d
and the other has -> IOS version 12.2(25)SEB2.
I just want to use the switches as Gb collectors for a serverfarm seperatly (so no stack configuration) with a redundant uplink to my distribution layer.
Can someone advise my which IOS is the best for my network?

Sam,
The Latest Version depends upon the Switching platform.
For example:
On 2900XL Platform - 12.0(5)WC15
On 2950 - 12.1(22)EA8
On 3500XL Platform - 12.0(5)WC15
On 3550 - 12.2(25)SEE2
It would be better if you specify the switch platform that you have questions about, so we could point you in the right direction.

GNS3 simulator is good for practice and traoubleshooting the real time senario, try to use ios for 3800,3700 or 2600 series switch with NME module for switching practice but with limited functionlity.

We are thinking about migrate our radius to windows 2012R2, wich is a new version of NPS.

Does model WS-X2914-XL-V support IOS version c2900XL-c3h2s-mz-120.5-XU.bin?

really appreciate if anyone could advise on the following.
Purpose: to implement bpdu guard on switch model WS-X2914-XL-V. current IOS version c2900XL-c3h2s-mz-120.5-XU.bin does not support bpdu guard feature.
Action: Download from cisco website c2900xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC14.bin but installation failed. (details in attached file, show version)
Question:
1) wonder if my switch can be upgraded to IOS c2900xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC14?
2) If yes, what causes the error in IOS upgrade?

Hi Christina,
Yes your switch definetely supports this image and your switch model number is WS-C2924M-XL-A as I can see from the attachment but in your notes you have updated WS-X2914-XL-V which I think is wrong.
As per the attachment which you have send your switch is WS-C2924M-XL-A and it supports 12.0(5)WC14 but the problem is your switch does not have enough space available in your flash to load the new IOS.
If you check the output of "sh flash" you will see 3612672 bytes total (840192 bytes free) which means not even 1 MB space is free and you new file will definetely be more than 1 MB so delete the old file first and then try installing the new one.
Your switch for sure supports this new file, to confirm my statement please check this link

Cisco switch IOS deletion

i've got two cisco 3750 Switches where by the ios images have been erased from the units there is no back up version on the switches that i can see,
I do have a swicth with a valid IOS image, My question is how would i go about taking a copy of that working IOS and placing it onto my PC then onto the switches that dont have the IOS.

The approach suggested by Dragan of copying directly from switch to switch should work. The other option would be to use tftp to copy the switch IOS from the switch to your PC and then on the switches that do not have images copy using tftp from your PC to the switch.
If the switch has no image is it running in rommon? If so the tftpdnld command may give you the ability to copy the IOS image.
Perhaps we should also verify that the image on the one switch is appropriate to use on the other switches. Are the other switches the same model, do they have the same amount of flash and of memory?

L2 netflow in 6500 IOS version 15S

We configured netflow at a 6509E with version 12.2.
mls aging long 120
mls aging normal 60
mls netflow interface
mls flow ip interface-full
mls nde sender version 5
ip flow-export source vlan1
ip flow ingress layer2-switched vlan xxx-yyy
ip flow-export destination 10.1.1.1 20
and we added some "ip flow ingress" at selected interfaces.

it works as expected
Now we need to configure it at 6509E with version 15
It is ok to configure the interfaces with flow monitor and exporter, but I didn´t find the layer2 netflow command.
I used http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/fnetflow/configuration/15-sy/fnf-15-sy-book.pdf to configure the netflow monitoring.
Does anyone know about l2 netflow at IOS version 15?

Looks to me like a timer problem - maybe a ARP timer on the clients? Check the ARP tables of your clients during your tests.

In a stack/flexstack all the switches should have exact same IOS version, otherwise there will be a version mismatch on the stack and the new switch will not be able to join the stack.

You Restore from iTune Backup.The syncing is towards the end of the Restore.
1. Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
2. You'll be asked twice to confirm
3. You'll see Apple logo and progress bar
4. You'll see a big iPad logo on screen
5. Configuration start
6. Set language
7. Set country
8. Select Network and input Password>Join
9. Enable Location Service>Next
10. You'll be given 3 options (a) Setup as New iPad (b) Restore from iCloud Backup (c) Restore from iTune Backup
11. Select Restore from iTune Backup
12. You will see picture of USB cable pointing towards iPad
13. Connect iPad to iTune (make sure iTune is on standby)
14. Tap Continue (computer)
15. Restore iPad from Backup (computer)
16. See progress bar with estimated time (computer)
17. See Restore in Progress on iPad
18. See Apple logo
19. See Apple and Progress Bar
20. Slide to Unlock
