ISight - Firewire/Beach Ball

Question

Its been working until last night -
Everytime I plug in my Isight on my firewire port - i get beach ball that goes on forever. I unplug it and it resumes normal operation.
I try using with Yahoo, beachball. It just wont communicate. Is it the camera itself, or the firewire port itself?

If you still get the never-ending spinning beach ball even with the green light now working, consider possible hardware or software conflicts, the possibility of a bad Firewire cable or connection, or the possibility that your PowerBook is not recognizing your iSight.
Check relevant suggestions from• Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight and
• How to test your iSight to ensure it is functional
When you plug iSight into your G4 PowerBook and check its System Profiler, you should see iSight recognized as a Firewire device.
Here is how a screen snapshot of my System Profiler looks when showing that my connected iSight is recognized by my System:
If your "Firewire Device Tree" does NOT show "iSight" when your iSight is plugged in, your system is not recognizing the camera.
In addition to shutting down and unplugging your PowerBook per step "3." of Apple's What to do if your computer won't recognize a FireWire device, you must also remove the battery to try to reset a laptop's Firewire port(s).
Your first post shows OS X 10.4.8. Your next two posts show 10.4.3. If you do not get the problem resolved, please verify that 10.4.8 is correct, that your Mac OS X Maintenance is up to date, and that your iSight problem occurs when using your Powerbook G4 rather than with your PowerMac G3 B&W.
