ISight Full Screen+Record

Hello
I wonder if I can show a full screen presentation live image from my MacBook isight cam (even if the quality is not ideal.) How do I do it ?
And can I record this "film" on the internal HardDisk?
How ?
Any suggestions ?
Yours
Sandeep
MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Hello Dozz,
And Welcome to Apple Discussions!
You can record "film" on your Mac by choosing iMovie, set the camera to iSight, and record away. It's that simple and easy.
For recording, I and many others use this:
http://www.ecamm.com/mac/conferencerecorder/
and you can "try before you buy" with the free demo.
And if you have the upgraded version of QuickTime Pro, you can record as well:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=QuickTime+Player/7.0/en/c2qt7.html
Or for full screen recording, try this one, SnapzProX found here:
http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/
Do post back and let us know what you ended up with or if you have more questions.
Respectfully,
Bill Gallagher

  • Quicktime for full screen recording

Is there anyway I can do full screen recording using Quicktime. I can't seem to get it working when in full screen mode. Is there any keystrokes that I can use while in full screen mode?

What I meant was if I am playing a youtube video in full screen mode how do I capture that?
Update : OK I think I have this licked. I just click on the record button, click on the existing screen and then swipe to another space where the full screen video is playing. Cool.

  • Full screen record in quicktime

How do I get Quicktime to record a full screen video that is already in the full screen mode.    I "simply" want to know the sequence of how to engage Quicktime to record a full screen video if that's possible.
    thanks

    Hi APPLEAL,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you want to record the screen using QuickTime. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
QuickTime Player 10.x: Record your computer’s screen
In QuickTime Player, choose File > New Screen Recording.
Choose options for the screen recording from the arrow pop-up menu.
If you want to record the entire screen, click anywhere on the screen to start the recording.
To stop the recording, click the Stop button, or press Command-Control-Escape.
    Cheers,
    Mario

  • Recording full screen, does that preclude using skin?

Using Captivate 3, recording at full screen due to application size. I've added the superslim playbar, but when I publish to a standalone exe the playbar doesn't show up. Is that because of the full screen recording?

    Hi there
Try turning off Borders and the paybar should move up and cover part of the bottom of the recording.

  • Need to use iSight as full-screen 'webcam' for play - Quickly!

We're doing a production on Internet safety for children, and we need an actor to be shown on large monitors, speaking and interacting with the cast in real time. Is there any way of using the iSight camera for this? iChat needs an account (and shows the OTHER person!) iMovie shows all the clips areas while the camera is on. We need, basically to have just the actor's face showing, so the MacBook is working as a camera. Oh - photobooth also doesn't show full screen till after the camera is off.
Any ideas from you illustrious folk?
I'll try the video forum too.
    Thanks, in panicked advance.

    Hi again,
    I have found this:

Which is fantastic, and does what it says on the tin.

  • Full Screen display of iSight or other video camera input

Ok - I've looked at iMovie and iChat and PhotoBooth - all the built in software to solve this fairly basic but maybe slightly odd need. I want to dedicate my display to show the camera video input. How can I do that full screen - not just in a window?
The need is that for video conferencing with WebEx - the video feed is low quality and it would be useful at times for the presenter to share higher resolution video. I can almost do this with iChat - I aim the camera at the source, and then use the iChat preview and then use "share desktop" with WebEx. Voila - relatively high resolution video. Yes, it's one way - but it's still really useful for some situations.
But the preview won't go full screen. Is there a MacBook app that will show the video input full screen?

The iSight is either 640x480 (older MBPs) or 1280x1024 (newer MBPs). Displaying it 'full screen' especially in an older MBP (which is what you have if you're posting in the correct forum) would result in a horribly pixelated image, not 'high resolution'. The apps that show the iSight feed are showing it at its native resolution, and that's a limitation of the hardware. If you need higher resolution, you can attach a higher resolution video camera (for example, my Panasonic DV camcorder connects via FireWire and can be used as a webcam).

  • Record full screen chrome page to video

Afternoon all.  We will be at a tradeshow displaying a product that is 100% web based.  It is dynamic, scrolls all over with google maps, etc. but the show area will have no internet.  So I wish to run my local iMac 27, Yosemite in full screen mode and record the browser as it goes all over and shows what it does.  I want to then stop the recording, make a simple mp4 and save it as a loop.
From there I can just start a machine and display at the booth.  I know quicktime used to but don't see how I can record the browser in full screen, so any help, tips, advice or software recommendation.   As I said, it will be recorded on  my iMac and displayed on probably a 32' TV.
    Thanks to all read/replies.

That kinda is what I'm talking about but not really. I see that just kind of shortcuts responsive design media queries and thats something that could (and should be) controlled manually within edge. This also doesn't really answer my question at all regarding what my example does and how it handles resizing and exact screen resolution per width and height of any given browser window. I mean EXACTLY like my example. Nothing more, nothing less.
    Thanks for the reply though!

  • How to record full screen but display in lower resolution project

I'm preparing a training video which shows full screen movement but will be delivered in a smaller resolution project size. I can't seem to figure out how to do this in captivate. Does anyone have suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Hi there
One way is to record, then in edit mode click Project > Rescale to reduce the resolution. Note that this will degrade the clarity to a degree. The amount of degradation will depend on how much rescaling you are doing.
I've also got a small video that is intended to assist with another way of working with larger screen sizes.
    Hopefully this helps... Rick

  • QuickTime screen recording can't record full screen

I wanted to use quicktime's screen record function to record gta San Andreas, which I bought off the App Store. I hit the record button and clicked so that it would record the whole screen. I then opened up San Andreas, which takes up the whole screen. When I watched the recording back, I saw that it had recorded the screen but had for some reason shoved the recording in the top left hand corner instead of it covering the whole screen like it should. The area around it was all pixilated lines.
I'll try to record again and with other games in case it's a glitch (in which case I'll let you know) because I haven't seen anyone else with this problem, but if it's not a glitch and there's a solution I'd love to hear about it! Many thanks.

Just as an update, steam games and applications that can go full screen like safari both work fine, I've tried gta again and it still has the problem.

  • Playing DVD in Full Screen on external monitor?

    Hi,
Recently,i have been trying to play DVDs using Apple DVD Player in Full Screen on an external 20 " monitor.
However, when i click something on my primary display on my MBP,apple DVD player(on the external monitor) will exit Full screen and goes into Maximum size.
So,my question is What can i do to make sure Apple DVD Player will retain its Full Screen mode(on my external display) while i continue with my work on my MBP's display?
Any help would be much appreciated...

This is a problem for most software on the mac, especially games. My experience has been most software uses the primary - in this case the macbook lcd - as its display monitor. There are a few ways to fudge it to force it on another screen, but quite frankly I find that the only way to use a macbook pro and external monitor is with the lid closed.
This is generally the best solution as the menu bar is always stuck on the primary anyway.
To use the macbook closed simply wake the computer from sleep with an external keyboard or mouse the laptop and the primary will now be the external monitor.
The only real downside is how do I now use the isight????

  • Possible to view quicktime in full screen on external monitor?

    Hey All!
Im wondering if there is any way to view quicktime movies in full screen (or use front row for that matter) on an external desktop set up us as an extended desktop (as opposed to mirror). This seems like quite a dumb thing to not be able to do.

  • Flash does not work correctly in full screen after most recent Firefox update

    == Issue
    ==
Firefox is having problems with certain web sites
    == Description
    ==
Yesterday, firefox updated itself automatically. The "what's new" screen suggested that I update Flash immediately, so I did. I had a little trouble. I eventually uninstalled Flash and re-installed with the latest version, but it is now up to date. Now flash videos will not play properly in full screen. The picture will freeze for a few seconds with the audio still playing, the screen will go blank, then the video will restart from where the audio was when the screen went blank. Sometimes Flash will crash completely and I will have to reload the page to restart the video, even not full screen. Other times I get an error message that my video driver stopped working. I have checked and my video driver is up to date.

I updated to 3.6.4 and when I went to NetFlix to watch the next show of a series, it said
    something like
    Installation complete, restart your browser.
I restarted browser, same problem. Restarted comp. Same problem.
I updated Adobe Flash 10.1, still same problem.
But able to watch some vids on other sites, but full screen gave me the big blank white screen with audio only, had to click around in the dark ( so to speak) to find the minimize button.
I did a System Restore to before the Firefox and Adobe updates.
I then did not update Firefox as recommended and went to NetFlix and wellah, i can view the movies again.
    And Full Screen is fine.
I then experimented and updated Firefox only, went to NetFlix and got same msg with no viewable shows.
So did a System Restore once more.
Staying at 3.6.3 for a while longer until I know I can watch my movies.
I don't own a TV, so this is my only form of an occasional escape.
I do hope this is figured out soon.
With what I have done, it seems to be Firefox, Not Flash.
    Good Luck to us all.

  • IPhoto 11 window won't open, only have full screen view

After I upgraded, the iphoto window would not come up. The menu bar at the top is active, and I am able to access my photos from Full Screen View. But when I toggle back, and close full screen, everything closes...
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you!

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

  • Lots of hang ups when using iPhoto in full screen mode

Has anyone else got this problem or a solution? I find that iPhoto hangs up or give strange action when in ful screen mode. The other day, for example, I had two iPhoto windows showing, one in full screen and one normal window on the desk top! Another day the system became unresposive and I had to force quit iPhoto to get it back. Another day I had to re-boot the machine entirely. All other full screen apps work fine.
I am on MacBook black, 2GB memory. OS X Lion fully updated.

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
