ISight's not working on flash based web page...

Hello,
I work as a lecturer for University of Zirve from Gaziantep in Turkey. We have a learning management system with a virtual class. Our class is based flash. . The iSight camera is not working on our virtual class page. In older version MAC OSX 10.6.4, it was work successfully, but in newer version (we tried v10.6.8 and v10.7.2, -in these versions i can use skype video call-) it isn't working. What can be the problem?
PS. I'll attach a screenshot from our virtual class...

(1) Verify that you are using the latest Flash version that works with you system:

If you need to update, use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions. Then follow Adobe's instructions here:

Be sure to uninstall your current Flash player before installing the new one.
Repair permissions again immediately following installation of the updated Flash player.
(2) Be aware that the current Flash Player Preferences can be configured in your Lion Mac's System Preferences... These settings may be blocking Flash on a system-wide basis.

ISight Camera not working of flash based sites even after adobe update.

Hi there everyone. Hope you can help me out.
I've been trying to use my webcam on chatroulette, which as i take it is a flash based site, and the isight camera would not work.
So I downloaded the adobe flashplayer upgrade, hoping to fix this problem.
Now when i go to the site, the isight light turns green, but then safari crashes. And the only options i have are to try again, or send an error report.
( both of which I've done )
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated in this matter.

Built in isight camera not working with flash

My built in isight camera on my macbook works just fine in photobooth and in skype or ichat.. but just in the past week or so, it will not work when im on websites that use flash. I've seen some threads that say that I need to go into settings and make sure that the camera chosen is the USB. When i go into flash settings, the only options are Google1, Google2, or Built in isight. It doesn't work with any of them. Does anyone have any idea how I can make it work again?

Your problem is not the same as that posted by the OP, and your system info shows you using Mac OS X (10.5.6).
For your symptoms with this system, I suggest you do the following:
(1) Apply the 10.5.8 Combo Update using the following process:
• Backup your Mac and turn off Time Machine
• Disconnect peripherals and restart Mac
• Use Disk Utility to repair permissions
• Download and install

• Test whether Flash works for you now.
(• Turn Time Machine on later when you are satisfied that the update worked.)

Print does not work correctly for this web page

When I print this, part of the bottom of the text is dropped (2-3 paragraphs). If I set it to landscape mode, even more of it is dropped.

I am getting frustrated with Apple not working with Flash player on some of my favorite web sites. Is there any alternative that will work on I-pad instead of flash?

Flash is not, and probably never will be, supported on the iPad : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ . Plus it would be up to Adobe to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices - something which they have never managed to do and which they have now given up on trying to do.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter and Puffin 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, so your could try checking there for your sites (and there is the built-in YouTube app).

HELP iSight does not work online or with Chat Roulette

So I have tested the iSight with photo booth, skype and other things like that. They all detect the camera, and work with the program fine. I was on Chat Roulette yesterday (the first night with my macbook) and it worked fine. The next day I tried to go on and it didn't work. For some reason it will not detect it. I have tried everything! I keep hitting allow and adjusting settings and nothing seems to work. I would really appreciate some help. Oh ad flash is updating and working correctly.

Perhaps Chatroulette was merely down for a while and will work next time you restart your Mac.
Chatroulette worked for me just now, but I could not find any link for on-line help. Therefore, if you are determined to continue trying to get Chatroulette working again although these suggestions do not help you, a web search might let you find other ideas in a third-party Chatroulette discussion forum.
Chatroulette previously worked for you but now does not, and you have already tried everything. If you are still cannot make Chatroulette work, the only remaining thing you can do is use a different website, at least to test whether your system is working with Flash-based browser chat sites. If neither mebeam nor tokbox work for you either, you may need to restart your modem and router/wireless access point again.

How to customize flash-based web galleries?

Has anyone here figured out how to customize the CS4 Bridge flash-based web galleries? Specifically, I'd like to be able to add the "description" line from the metadata to an image, without having to add ALL the metadata (as a couple of the galleries allow).
Seems like such a simple thing. Can't imagine why Adobe didn't add it. It is standard in the older HTML gallery templates.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Barring that, does anyone know of a second-party flash photo gallery that allows for information this information to be displayed?

Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be.

ISight & Remote not working...

Dear Mac Support Forum,
This is my first post here at the forums although I’ve been browsing them for some time now.
I hit the trifecta of problems so I wasn’t sure where exactly to do this post. Hope you can help.
Latest Updates:
iTunes 7.5
Quick Time 7.3.1
MAC OS X 10.4.11 Update
Issues:
1. I-pod touch is not showing up in iTunes.
2. I-sight is not working (Photo Booth once selected shows the following message “the camera is in use by another application”). No other applications are running.
3. Remote can not open or run Front Row.
• NOTE: all stopped working at the same time after my latest software update so I believe they are related in someway. No 3rd party apps were installed in the mean time.
Tried & unsuccessful solutions:
1. Fully charged the i-pod.
2. Deleted & reinstalled latest version of iTunes.
3. Disconnected & reconnected the i-pod several times using different USB ports to the machine.
4. Restarted the i-pod several times.
5. Restarted the MacBook several times.
6. Reinstalled (Apple Mobile Device Service).
7. Restarted the MacBook in safe mode.
8. Attempted to pair the remote with the MacBook by holding down the Menu and Next/FFWD button.
9. I reset the System Management Controller (SMC) several times.
10. Under System Preference > Security > “Disable remote control infrared receiver" option is unchecked.
11. Deleted & reinstalled the latest version of Quick Time.
12. Tried using the remote with another MacBook & it worked fine.
13. Went to System Preference > Account > Login Item, and uncheck all the applications.
NOTE:
1. Although once connected to another PC the i-pod is immediately recognized by i-tunes.
2. I-pod only charges once connected to the MacBook.
3. The i-pod, IR receiver & i-sight all appear under the USB section of the System Profiler.
4. Front Row can still be run using the keyboard short cuts.
Can you please come up with any suggestion other then the ones tried above to solve these issues.

You have landed in iSight discussions, and I see that you have tried many of the things that users can do to correct iSight problems. It can be very difficult to try to troubleshoot multiple devices simultaneously, so I will first give you my suggestions for your iSight issue. It is possible that something you try for iSight will fix one of your other problems even if it does not fix iSight. To keep the process as simple as possible, whether a given suggestion fixes iSight, one of your other problems, or noting at all, I suggest you continue to concentrate iSight until we get that resolved. Then we will move on to any other remaining issues.
I see that you have done a lot of updating, installing, and uninstalling. You do not say how you accomplished those actions. If you repaired permissions before and after any install, update, or uninstall that require you to input your Administrator Password, and if you used an Apple uninstaller or followed Apple's directions for how to uninstall, the updates/installs/uninstalls should not have caused any problems. If you merely dragged application folders to the trash, you most likely did not uninstall properly. Don't worry about that now, but, for your future consideration, it is generally a bad idea to move, modify, rename, or delete any item outside your User > Documents folder unless you are an experienced OS X user.
Now, onward to get iSight working. If you have not done so since your last software install or update, your first step should be to quit all running applications and then repair permissions. Then try Photo Booth again to see if your iSight works with it now.
If repairing permissions does not help, your next step should be to disconnect everything from your MacBook, restart, and troubleshoot iSight using all suggestions relevant to your system from How to Troubleshoot iSight to determine whether your iSight needs professional service. If, after using the suggestions there, you can make iSight work with any application in any user account you try, you know that your iSight works. Your problem is in some other part of your system.
If your iSight does not work right after trying everything above, post back and tell us:
(1) which, if any, applications work with your iSight
(2) which apps you tried that do not work with your iSight
(3) if EVERY problem is EXACTLY the same in EVERY user account your tried
(4) whether your iPod touch, Photo Booth, and Remote ever worked correctly
(5) if they did, what changed immediately before each problem began, and
(6) if all three problems began at the same time.
We will offer more specific suggestions based on the details in your response.

Captivate 4 AS2 Text Entry Box not working with Flash Player 11

I am having issues with text entry boxes not working at all in flash 11. I am using Captivate 4 and exporting an AS2 swf. When you get to the slide you can type but you cannot see anything nor does the button or keystroke to move on. Also there is no cursor. Any ideas?

You said it is not working with Flash 11, so does that mean you tested with previous version and that worked?
While publishing choose Flash player as 9 and publish that, verify if that plays in a compatible web browser.
AS 2 is a legacy scripting, it has been said not too be supported with even Flash Player 10 --

I believe if you switch back to version 9 while publish your project, it should work.

Important: Follow these instructions in order. Test the camera between steps to see if the issue is resolved.
Built-in iSight cameras
These steps are for iSight cameras that are built into a computer, such as the iMac G5 (iSight) or later, the MacBook, or MacBook Pro.
See if the issue is application-specific.
Try another application (iSight works with applications like iChat, PhotoBooth, and iMovie HD 6) to see if the iSight camera exhibits the same behavior in all applications. If it only happens in one application, try reinstalling that application.
See if the issue is user-specific.
Test your iSight camera in another user account. If the issue only occurs in one user, the issue would be isolated to user settings.
Find out if the computer recognizes the iSight
Check System Profiler (in the Utilities folder, inside the Applications folder). Under the USB header, check to see if the iSight camera is detected.
Reset SMC or PMU
Reset your computer's SMC or PMU, and then check System Profiler again. (SMC reset instructions for iMac G5 (iSight), Intel-based iMacs; PMU reset instructions for MacBook and MacBook Pro.)

I also tried quicktime and imovie with an external dv camera connected to the firewire and the camera was seen straight away. doesn't look like isight is even being seen...
Any suggestions or is this going straight back in the box and back to Apple?

Allt he links in the header of any websites are not working, I reinstalled fiorefix and it s the same. No problem in others browser. the tool bar is working but not the link sinside the web page located between the top 300px height

GETURL is not working in flash player 9.0.124.0.

My swf and my html are in different domain so i got a issue
in GETURL function , It is not working in flash player 9.0.124.0.
in IE browser so that i add one parameter like allowScriptAccess
=always then its working fine.but my question is what will happed
if they will introduce any new flash version in future please tell

There is no way to know what will change in the future. This
is the solution that works now. It will probably remain in place
for the reasonable future.

Isight camera not working after the last update

After reboot of the last OS update
Isight camera not working...
i've tried photobooth, ichat, skype and it doesn't show up anywhere. in fact, when i go to system profiler, it doesn't show isight under USB connections at all.
just to give you a recap of what i've tried so far:
* restarting (obviously)
* resetting PRAM/SMC (by booting it the way it was specified in the isight troubleshooting thing)
* just shutting down my computer and taking the battery out for several hours
any Help pls
because i mast to use it as soon as possible in a conference

Try running repair permissions from your HD and afterwards run +repair disk+ from your software install DVD.

To fix your iSight, shut down computer. Reboot in safe mode (press power button and then hold shift key down). After computer boots, restart again. Hopefully, your iSight will start working again.
