Isn't 3833mb 40gb storage? I have a used 60gb zen xtra with 3833mb total storage space/free space and I am under the impression that 60gb should be closer to 5833mb, correct? Can anyone help me to understand if this is correct? I just got this unit, I have a zen touch 40gb unit that has 3833mb as its total space allowed and the Zen Xtra 60gb I bought used ( but never used acording to the seller ) has the same storage. Customer support just send a couple of form replys to download new firmware and drivers which I did, but that did not increase the space ( which couldn't be possible, could it's The dri've is fixed space?) Sorry to be such a newbie? Thanks for any help. Marc
Problem is the seller is on that auction site and has an explicit no return, no refund policy. I maybe able to go to squaretrade as he said it was new in opened box, and it was not new as his daughters name was on the settings part of the unit. It does say on the unit 60gb so I guess my next question is it possible for him to have opened the unit and replaced the 60gb harddri've with a 40gb? I also assume that this unit would not be able to be fixed or replaced under warrantee even though on his description a one year creative labs warantee is in place. I have the unit registered with creative and with the serial number. Does the hard dri've itself have a serial number on it's Thanks again for the help. Marc

Do you have to use the Apple RAM with the heatsink? Or can you use any 667 MGz DDR2 RAM?
I'm sprucing up my MacPro 2 x 2.66 GHz (hard drives, video card, & RAM) and would like to know if I have to use Apple's RAM with the heatsink on it.
Meaning, the RAM I end up purchasing, does it HAVE to have the heat sink on it? Or can I use any regular DDR2 667 MHz dimms?

Thanks for the help!You MUST use RAM with both the large Apple-specified Heatsink AND the Apple approved Temperature Sensor. These are "tuned" to the airflow inside a Mac Pro. Modules must also be ECC modules, 72 data bits wide.
If you decide not to, the internal fans may not work properly, the modules will get too hot and will fail prematurely
The best way to solve this pronlem is to deal with a Vendor that knows Macs and can tell YOU which modules work in your Mac -- guaranteed or your money back if it does not work for any reason. And a lifetime warranty -- if it ever fails and still has their sticker on it, they will replace it, free.
There are a few one-off deals out there that may be a little cheaper, but the cost of dealing with reputable Mac-oriented Vendors does not add substantially to the price. And you do not get stuck with "you buy it, you own it" modules that do not work in your Mac. -

Anyway here's what I did:
I'd wrote an email to Apple America, even if I'd purchased the item in Europe and the US support usually should not be involved in any European case.
They wrote me back that a European office will have call me in 48 hours.
After a couple of days I've received a call and a new iPod is coming from US...
Don't ask me if I can find any kind of logic behind it, but at least I can state that the US support has been decisive.

Do I have to use LabVIEW Real Time with a reflective memory node?
For reference with an external data system that will be temporarily installed at a customer's site, they have asked that I tie into their data network to record data from their control system. They apparently use a reflective memory network for data sharing. I have no prior experience with reflective memory, but all references to it involve real time systems. I do not need absolute determinism to acquire this data, I can be late by several milliseconds with no problem. Do I still need to use LabVIEW Real Time to interface with the PXI reflective memory node?

I have worked with that card briefly before. It has a Visa based driver and RT isn't required. However, I haven't worked with the card on a non-rt system and am not sure if there any issues to be aware of.
A lot of work has gone into integrating support for the card into Veristand, it may save you enough development time to use at an RT-Veristand system to be worth the extra cost.

After I install itunes on my windows 7 - 64 bit machine it will not reboot and I need to restore to a date before itunes was install. How do I fix this?
I'm having a very similar issue, paired with iTunes not being able to get online.
iTunes shows up in processes and then hangs at 17,000 K or so -- sometimes it will start up, but that (if it occurs) is a delay of literal hours.
Pretty meticulously went through all the 'cannot connect' trouble shooting, and have uninstalled, restarted, and then reinstalled every piece of apple software; issue is just as firm. Starting in safe mode or admin mode don't fix it; signing in as a different user doesn't fix it. -

We can set up a task that works on demand but when we go to continuous sampleing we see Error -200303, which claims an external sample clock source must be specified for this application. However, some of the NI linear encoder example code doesn't show that (uses the cDAQ 80 Mhz clock) and the documentation didn't mention that.
It's mentioned in the 918x user manual:
Unlike analog input, analog output, digital input, and digital output, the cDAQ chassis counters do not have the ability to divide down a timebase to produce an internal counter sample clock. For sample clocked operations, an external signal must be provided to supply a clock source. The source can be any of the following signals:

Assuming you have at least one available counter (there are 4 on the backplane), I would suggest to configure a continuous counter output task and use its internal output as the sample clock. Specify the internal counter using an "_" for example "cDAQ1/_ctr0". The terminal to use for the sample clock source would be for example "/cDAQ1/Ctr0InternalOutput".
Which example uses the 80 MHz timebase as a sample clock? It is far too fast for a sample clock on the 9188 according to the throughput benchmarks (80 MHz * 4 byte samples = 320 MB/s). There is also no direct route between the 80 MHz timebase and the sample clock terminal for the counters--making this route would use a second counter anyway.

When rented movies do not download properly or completely, there seems to be no method to obtain a refund. It is poor business to require the customer to use the credit card dispute process to make good on a bad purchase. This was my first and last attempt at downloading a rented movie from iTunes. I would NOT recommend the process to a friend. The site is confusing, the process takes forever, the movie did not completely download, and the company only provides a 24 hour period to correct the problem (left up totally to the customer). Thank God for Netflix! Always works and is very reliable!

Have anyone used R&S FSEA30 with Labview for Phase Noise Measurement?

I just accquired a Rohde & Schwarz FSEA30 spectrum analyser. I wonder if anyone here can share their experience in using Labview 8.21 Professional to perform Phase Noise Measurement. I believe Labview 8.21 is far more flexible and powerful than R&S' discontinued FS-K4 Phase Noise Measurement software, which is still being offered at US$3,000 (refurbished).
Any links to necessary info and software would be most welcomed.

I've used LV to carry out Phase Noise measurements on both R&S and Agilent Spectrum Analyzers ( using LV6.0 to LV7.1). I have used LV8.2 for other purposes.. I tend to prefer R&S over Agilent, especially when programming LV code. In both cases I've used LV drivers or simply sending instrument commands via GPIB. The FSEA30 is a very nice SA.
The advantage of the FS-K4 software is that it does the calculations for you, thus greatly reducing implementation time. And for a company, it may very well be worth the investment, especially at US$3K.
Sharing software (vi's in this case) is / will be difficult, since the developped sw is owned by the company for whom it was developped. For instance, I no longer work for the co where this was done for the R&S. Recently, I implemented a routine for an Agilent SA. It had a built-in option to carry out the measurements, so the implementation was merely setting up the SA, go into Phase Noise mode (MOV PH commands, PH_F, PH_MEAS, etc) and that was it. I seem to recall something similar for the R&S, which was a few years ago.. but I think it also had an option to do the PN measurements.. (I will now have to visit R&S website to refresh my memory).
All & all, using LV8.2 & R&S SA is a perfect combination. Their LV drivers are quite useful and simple to use. I like how they are listed on the block diagram of the tree.vi.

The driver on planon.com site does not install on the Lion OS; The driver installs but the scanner is not visible while trying to add printer....
No luck.. No devices are visible even in image capture.had raised a support request with planon, the manufacturer of docupen. They say there are no immediate plans for drivers for 10.7; Their position is that Apple should release a patch/upgrade to Lion to allow more hardware to be used...
