Isn't Lightroom included in the 9.99 a month subscription to CC?

Am I mistaken in thinking that my 9.99 a month includes Lightroom?  I used to have it but it seems to have disappeared.  Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, see if this other forum thread helps:

Niel.v.d.h please utilize the steps listed in Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html to install Photoshop Lightroom through the Creative Cloud Desktop application.

  • Why isn't Lightroom included?

    Hi;
I'm a long-time Adobe user (started working w/Photoshop in the 90's) who hasn't upgraded his personal software in a while.  Former employers had the application licensed at work, and Adobe's pricing on upgrades/suites just made it difficult and ultimately impossible for me to keep up.  Now we're here in 2010 and hooray I'm no longer working for the man, but that also means I'm facing paying for the full version on CS5.  And of course, it's cheaper to buy a suite of apps than it is to just get the two key apps I'll need, but that's a separate discussion.
The question I've got, as the subject says, is why isn't Lightroom included?  From everything I've gathered looking at the Adobe site, it looks like Lightroom is a great companion tool to Photoshop.  I had hoped it would be included in the Production Premium suite (the one I need in order to get Photoshop & After Effects), but looking through the others (including the 'Master' suite) it appears to have been omitted completely.
Why is that?  Is the program being phased out?  Is it not considered to be a professional creative tool?  I wish there was a way to BYO suite, since even the one that best suits my needs comes with over a thousand dollars worth of software I have no use for.

First of all, to kill a potential rumor, Photoshop Lightroom is absolutely not being phased out in any way!!!
Generally speaking, within Adobe, Lightroom is considered more of a professional photographer's tool than a tool for the so-called creative professional and thus not something that would be used in addition to use of a suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat, for example. Typically, a photographer would do a certain amount of processing with Lightroom and pass the images off to those creative professional types who might further tweek or manipulate the images for publication either in print or on the web.
Ideally, it would be nice to have a BYO suite but realistically it would be a nightmare to market and support such a product given issues of product installation, update, activation, etc.

If you have the PS+LR bundle, then you should install the Creative Cloud app, first.   One CC is installed, it’ll show all your eligible products on its Apps list, with Install buttons next to the apps you’re licensed to use, and Trial or Try next to the apps you’re not licensed to use.
The CC app is the first thing on the Adobe Products page.  It is a desktop app, not tablet app.

  • What is included in the free hosting from CC subscription?

    Hi,
I've got a CC subscription so I'm aware that I get free hosting for up to 5 sites however I saw today that it only includes WebBasic sites however I can not find the information to what that includes. I have searched on the forums and I have found likes but all seem to be outdated and have changed.
I'm using Muse to produce the site in order to promote my work as a student graphic designer for jobs and interns so I will have picture galleries (Muse widget), a contact form and wish it to be phone and tablet compatible.
Thanks for any help in advance

  • Why don't I qualify for the $29.99 per month subscription? I put my serial number in from my CS3 and it says I don't qualify...

I'm sure I read that Adobe was going to give this deal to current CS users...

We can't know. We don't know what CS3 product you are referring to and under which conditions it was purchased back then nor would you care to provide sensitive purchase details on a public forum. Inquire with sales support via web chat if you have specific questions.

  • Is lightroom CC included in the adobe creative cloud photographers package monthly subscription?

Is Lightroom CC included in the adobe creative cloud photographers package monthly subscription?

There is no Adobe Story Premium, it is Adobe Story Plus that is included with the Creative Cloud paid subscription.
From the Adobe Story FAQ here http://www.adobe.com/products/story-plus/faq.html
What versions of Adobe Story are available and how do they differ?
Adobe Story is available in two versions, each of which offers advantages over other scriptwriting software:
    • Adobe Story Free is professional screenwriting software available free on Adobe.com, providing standard writing tools that automatically format your script as you type. Write for various types of projects using customizable script templates and multicolumn scripts. Import scripts written in Final Draft, Movie Magic Screenwriter, and Microsoft Word. Access your projects anywhere you have an Internet connection.
    • Adobe Story Plus is a complete, collaborative scheduling and preproduction solution. Stay on time and on budget with additional features not available in Adobe Story Free. Generate up-to-date schedules and production reports from script metadata, including tags created automatically or manually. Work on your projects online as well as offline by using the Adobe Story Plus desktop application. Stay in sync with your team using collaboration features such as Share Projects.

  • How can I EXCLUDE particular folders/files from being included in the Lightroom 5 catalog?

How can I EXCLUDE particular folders/files from being included in the Lightroom 5 catalog?
I want to be able to specify paths and/or filename patterns that should NEVER be indexed in the catalog: not that they don't show up under certain circumstances, just that they are NOT THERE (in the catalog) to begin with!!
I also do NOT want to have to respecify these criteria when "synching" the catalog; criteria should be PERMANENT (or at least 'til they're changed in LR preferences).
I cannot be the only person in the world with this problem--but it sure seems like it, because I've spent an inordinate amount of time doing online searches & I can't find anything that addresses this issue.
    Can anyone PLEASE HELP me?
BTW, Adobe employees (if there are any of you out there), I'm simply trying out LR now.  If I can't get this (seemingly fundamental) thing worked out (with relatively little effort), Adobe is going to LOSE A SALE of LR, because it's useless to me without this feature.
    Thanks,
    -t

Thanks for the info... but how to you TELL LR to EXCLUDE images in a particular directory/directory structure?  The intuitive place to indicate this would be a right-click on the folder itself (or particular images), but no such option exists..  "???"  Thanks again, -pt
The same way that you avoid buying things in your local convenience store. You don't stick a lot of labels on certain shelves, slap a credit card down on the counter each week, and announce you are buying everything that doesn't have a label on its shelf. You just choose the things you want to buy.
Your mention of "synching the catalog" suggests that you are expecting the LR library, to mirror the total images in the computer by default. This is not IMO a useful way to think about it. LR contains no images at all, by default: the Catalog starts out empty.
Then you Add just those selected images that you want to import, among those already in the computer. That's a one-off process which is IMO best achieved controllably in batches - which you can keyword and otherwise organise in LR terms as you go. For new incoming images, ongoing, it is a question of Copying, Moving or Adding these in defined batches as they occur - from the relevant location only - there is no need to re-consider the import of a wider body of images. And one would not want to repeat that whole task anyway: one's prior investment in achieving the right selectivity, has a positive value.

  • I just purchased Lightroom 5 back on 15th of February, and v6 is now available. Do I understand correctly that I have to buy the new version for $149.00? Free updates are not available/included with the purchase for some time after the purchase?

  • Windows 8, Lightroom 5.6. When i enable filters to search. It cuts off the top 160  images. These images are NOT included in the search!!

In Windows 8, Lightroom 5.6. The search/filter function cuts off the top 160+ images. These are NOT included in the search.
Even when there are as little as 6 images it does not include the first 4 images.
I found this when I was searching a particular ISO. It did not show in the metadata search. I knew there were over 60 images at that ISO.
I tried a text search, it did not work either. The top 160+ images were left out.
Also it renumbered the images. My image number was #163 but Lightroom said it was #1.
In Windows 7 Enterprise, Lightroom 5.6 worked perfectly.

We'll need more detail to figure out what's going on. While we could play twenty questions, the most efficient way to troubleshoot this is to start out by posting a full-resolution screen shot of your LR window.

  • I just paid the $9,99 a month to have access to Photoshop and lightroom.  I am having trouble installing the programs and when I installed on Photoshop it said "trial"- this isn't suppose to be a trial but  a resource I pay for monthly for a year right?

What turns the trial into the live software is signing in. If you sign in with the Adobe ID that has the subscription, the trial becomes live. First check your account on Adobe.com to make sure that the subscription is live.
