Isn't there somewhere either on this site or somewhere similar that gives iphone users the ability to check their software on thier device and shows diagnostics after scanning?
I do not remember for the life of me where I was once able to check how my iphone was functioning but recall I did it straight from my phone. Is anyone familiar with what I'm referring to and where it's located? I appreciate any info on the subject. Thanks in advance!

What people? I have no issue with IOS 7, neither do the 30 plus people at my work, who I suggested to update to ios 7.0.4, and these are people from the ages of 20+ to 60+.... -
my 3rd generation ipad even though my battery is at 100 % the screen goes black after sitting for more than 15 mins. The only way to get it to come is by resetting the ipad. Is there a fix for this. It all started after the last two updates.
Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

I read an article in the paper today re the virus that locks off I-phone and I-pads, I have an iMac and an iPad 4. Is there a danger of this happening and if so how do I prevent it?
Many thanks, Roger Biggin.You may be referring to the "Oleg Pliss" hack (not a virus), in which some people (mostly in Australia and New Zealand) have had their Apple IDs hacked and used to remotely lock their iOS devices. If that's what you read about, be sure that you are using a strong password on your Apple ID, and consider enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID to make it difficult or impossible for a hacker to take it away from you.
If you live in Australia or New Zealand, it may be worthwhile to turn off Find My iPad on your iPad, at least until the cause of the problem has been determined. Of course, that reduces the protections against theft. You'd be better off to just make sure you're keeping the iPad backed up, so you can restore it if it happens to get locked.

i just got a replacement phone from Asurion because my iphone 4s had issues, i tried to dl music from apple itunes and it keeps telling me that there is another id associated with this device and i have to wait 45 days to associate mine, is there a way around this problem or do i have to actually wait?
Either wait it out or contact Asurion and complain. They sent you a used phone as JB said above. There is nothing anyone here or at Apple can do about it.

You cannot downgrade your software. The only way you can downgrade your software is by jailbreaking your device (which can be risky if you dont know what your doing). Remember if you are downgrading by jailbreaking it will void your warranty with Apple - and you could run the risk of disabling your device.
However, im not too sure about the YouTube problem, my only guess is that since it is not an original app that comes with the iOS software. -

If you really need to upgrade you can save a bit of money and get an older version than the ipad Air.
First, you can sell your ipad 1 to places like gazelle.com, cashforyourmac.com, sellyour mac.com, or many others out there. The sites I listed give you cash. At this point gazelle.com is giving $70.00 for any ipad 1 in 'good' condition. And cashforyourmac will give you $25.00 over what gazelle.com or sellyourmac.com offers you. Shipping is free.
Then, with that money, go the the Apple online certified refurbished store. As an example, a new 64gb Air costs $699.00. A refurbed 4th gen 64gb costs $529.00 and a 3rd gen 64gb costs $499.00. Personally, I'd skip the 3rd gen. So if you buy a 4th gen 64gb at $529.00 minus what you can get from a sale to above, you can get an ipad 4 64gb for just over $430.00, a savings of savings of about $270.00. Is there a way to link or create a widget that links back to the iTunes U app on your iPad from your iBook?
I have already found the Apple Widget Builder (http://widgets.itunes.apple.com/builder/) and that works fine if you want to link to the "App Store", but I want to know if there is a way to "open an app" that is already installed on the iPad instead of double tapping the home button to switch between apps. (I know using the home button is very simple, but I am trying to find an even easier way to just "tap a widget" or "link" that will open iTunes U right up) I am only asking if this is possible for people who may have a hard time running an iPad at the beginning.

You will need to setup a new Apple ID for your sister. You have to have an Apple ID and iDevice connected and using that account to get an iCloud account.
