Isnt there anyway to open a damged file ??

I have lost and restored lost logic files but the files do not open isnt there any way to open them at all?
When opening it comes to the missing audio I press the skip and just as it is about to open logic just flunks out This is a disaster:(

Hold down Control immediately after launching Logic and do not launch the CoreAudio drivers. Then try to open your song. If it does work, get rid of your 3rd party plug-ins and relaunch the drivers. If that works, then you can try to reinstantiate the plug-ins.

Have you tried GoodReader? It claims to handle very large file sizes and it's very good for annotations. It's my PDF reader of choice on the iPad

The idea as I understand it is something like this:

That all said it may work for a particular driver but more likely the driver will stumble somewhere over the fact that its functions expect to have exclusive control over certain lower level resources. It's definitely a sure way into maintenance nightmare and you should consider to use or create a different driver almost at all costs if possible at all.

I have a MacBook Air which is running 10.7.5 and I downloaded an installation file which is meant for windows. Is there a way that I can open this file on OS X?

This is actually not correct at all. Anything Wine based can run a .exe on OS X. How easy it is to get to work right depends on the exe file in question though... A couple of OS X apps that use Wine for doing this is Crossover and Wineskin

CS4: When I open a file, it's not there until I open a second file.

When I open an Illustrator CS4 file, everything is there but the file. The panel has the name of the file, the layers are there. But I don't see the file itself. I have to open up a second Illustrator file, then toggle back to my first file. Then I see the files. This happens almost all the time.

My objective is to have a xml file created from a list for anonymous access. The SharePoint RSS feed is a .aspx file not xml, as shown below:

Opening an Indesign file from server slows down [very urgent please]

Hi All,
I have a book that is already paginated. (Every indesign file has hyperlinks targeted to the another indesign file (paragraph Anchor destinations)).
After few days the server was crashed due to some network problems.
Now a new server has been created with different name and path.
If I try to open the indesign file it takes much much longer time than usual, For the same file if I disconnect the network connection it is working as usual.
What is the cause of this? Is there any way to overcome this issue or any work around? At the same time I need to retain the hyperlinks also. Because it is very very difficult to re-create the links (more than 100 or 200 number of links will be there in every chapter).
Note: I have tried something like trashing indesign preferences. It is also not working.

I restored all my indesign file in the same folder structure except the root folder. I already tried the way you suggested. It is not helping me.
"I thought that may be Indesign is searching for the missing links" So I try editing the preferences so that indesign will not search for the missing links(I think it is only aplicable for graphic links is it?). After that also I am facing the same problem.
Is there anyway to open the indesign file without checking for missing hyperlinks. So that it may open faster.

Corrupt audio file prevents me from opening Logic project file

Hello,
I've been running Logic 8 for a couple years off my MacBook and have never encountered any significant problems of file corruption until recently.
The issue I encountered is this:
I've been producing a lengthy track in an on-going Logic project file for some time and after completing a recording session I saved and started deleting excess track copies to clean up my arrange window. Upon doing so Logic unexpectedly crashed.
After attempting to reopen the project file, it started its normal process of loading its respective audio files, but now it hangs on one particular audio file indefinitely (I'll refer to it as 'audio file x' for ease of reference), freezing and crashing Logic as a result. All of this project file's auto backup files are also incapable of being opened without giving me the same result and crashing Logic.
I have no way of opening this project file and getting at my most recent saved sequence!
I've tried removing this corrupt 'audio file x' from the project's audio folder and dragging it to the desktop, but this had no effect and I still can't open any recent version of the project file.
Older saved copies of the current project file do still open though (most likely because they were saved prior to the corruption caused by this suspect 'audio file x.') When opening an earlier iteration of the project, I get a message '1 invalid audio region found' (I assume referring to the corrupt suspect 'audio file x' that I removed to the desktop) but the project file is still able to open.
I realize I could import the audio files from the most recent version of the crashed file to an older project version and reconstruct things back to the way they were, but it would take me a lot of time and I'm hoping there may be some way to recover the un-openable project file by getting it to stop looking for this corrupted 'audio file x' on startup.
When I click 'show package contents' of the Logic Project file, I notice two items labeled 'displayState' and 'documentData.' From my troubleshooting I've come to the basic understanding that the 'documentData' file contains all the sequence data and settings for its respective Logic Project file.
I think the 'document data' of the unopenable project file in question may be corrupt because whenever I replace it with the 'document data' from an earlier Project file version, the file is able to open. This doesn't do me much good though, because it's document data from an earlier iteration of the project and I need to be able to get at the current sequence I had right before my file crashed.
Is there anyway to open a project file without letting it load its audio files? Or is there anyway I could get inside the 'document data' file to delete the reference/pathway in its audio bin to the corrupt 'audio file x' its hanging on?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping there's some way I won't have to repeat a couple days worth of work. Thanks for your help!

Well... it really sounds like the project itself is corrupted, that's one of the reasons all project files won't load from a certain point on.
Try this.
Reboot the Mac.
Open the Applications folder and boot Logic from it's icon.
As soon as the Logic Logo/graphic window appears on the screen hold down the control key. You will see a message pop up that says something like "Launch the Core Audio Driver" there will be yes/no choice available... select NO.
Go to the File menu and selct "open" go find your project file and see if it will open. If it does.. delete the audio file in question... however.. I would also look at any plugins you recently installed and are possibly using in this project...this sounds more like a plugin problem rather than an audio file problem, but that's just a gut feeling.
Anyway, if it opens delete whatever you suspect and save under a different name.
Reboot Logic and see if it can load the project.

Is there anyway to open a .daa file I have on my mac. I have tried looking in VT, Google and searching apple support but no luck. Help please..?

.daa files are proprietary to PowerISO and cannot be opened by any other applications. My suggestion would be to download the trial of Crossover onto the iMac http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxmac/
Then download PowerISO onto the iMac and install it using crossover and convert the .daa to and iso. Your other option is to purchase a licensed copy of Windows XP Pro SP2 and either purchase VirtualPC (for you powerbook) or Parallels (for the iMac), or bootcamp the iMac and install Windows that way.

I had a system failure and lost a large amount of my library which now shows with the ! and I want to get rid of them and selectign and pressing delete is not an option as there are too many to do. I do not wnat to delete all and re read them in, althought that may be the last resort. Even being able to sort them so I can easily select all and delete them woudl be usuefull

Probably (I wouldn't know, reversing is illegal , the password is a hash of the password and the vi data/code. So removing it would be as simple as removing the hash from the file in a hex editor. But LabVIEW won't open it, because the hash is wrong.

Creating a .swf in InDesign, is there anyway to export it into a more compatible format?

I am not sure if the above question is actually what I am asking. I created a training module using a ton of these .swf files in InDesign. The .swf files don't line up with the timeline so they can't be paused, fast forwarded or controlled in anyway. The course was created in Articulate Storyline, their solution is to import it as a video and not flash. When I do that it becomes a static image. I have the cloud, I attempted to pull it into After Effects and then export it, but it again, I cannot import it.. (I am still in the beginning stages of learning that program.) I've installed Flash Pro and attempted the same.
Is there anyway I can make these files into a compatible format, say mpg-4?

I wrote that wrong. I create all of my images, backgrounds, designs, and animations in InDesign. From InDesign, I export the images as jpgs and the animations as .swfs. From there, I import the .swfs into storyline as a flash object, and it plays normally; however, in the player within storyline, while viewing the course, when the slide is paused the .swf keeps going.. If it's fast forwarded, the .swf starts from the beginning. My goal is to have it work with the player controls, pause with the slide, and continue where it left off - all of that.
The only way to do so, which I found in the storyline forum, is to import it as a video.
So the animations I created in Indesign, exported to a .swfs, I attempted to pull into After Effects and then export them; however, it doesn't actually play or seem to exist in after effects - or in Flash Pro, even Premiere.
