Iso burner software for optical drives

hello
I recently updated my computer from Windows xp Professional to Windows 7 Home Premium clean install.  My drivers are all in place.  I have 2 separate  optical drives DvD & cd.  Both of my optical drives
work but I don't have driver software for them to run.  The tech that installed my drivers suggested Iso burning software  for both optical drives to work.  I am not certain how Iso burner software works.   Can someone show me
a safe and free place  where I can download and install Iso burning software.  Thank you.

  • Installing Pioneer BDR-205 Blu-ray burner as internal optical drive?

Has any one successfully installed the Pioneer Blu-ray BD-205 as an internal optical drive in their Mac Pro 1.1? I just wanted to make sure the older Mac Pro would be compatible with the new Blu-Ray burner.
    Thanks,
    John

I have a MacPro 3,1 with a NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT graphics card, and a Pioneer BDR-203 mounted internally via the internal SATA connector on the motherboard. Works beautifully for burning Blu-ray video, using Toast 10, and I use it to backup AVCHD files that are as large as 16GBytes each.
Would I be able to play Blu-ray video with Windows 7 on this system?
I had about given-up on Apple, and was ready to bite the bullet, and buy a Dell.

  • Burning software for NEC ND 3540a

I am planning on buying the NEC ND3540a for my computer, but what burning software would I need and where is the best place to get it?
Also, does it matter which operating system I use. I have Jaguar now but do I have to go to Panther to run this drive? (I don't want to get Tiger)
    Quicksilver 2002   Mac OS X (10.1.x)   1GRam, cdrw

You will need PatchBurn to get iApp/Finder burn support of ANY new drive in Jag or Panther.
10.1.5 is listed as your OS in your profile; getting a new drive to work with the iApps in 10.1.x is a totally different issue...
Most burning needs wil be covered by the Apple-supplied apps, but Roxio's Toast can give you more options.
Note that you cannot use +DVD media or DL media unless you get Toast, or upgrade at least to Panther (DL media requires Tiger (or Toast).

  • Very simple step-by-step guide for Optical Drive to SSD swap?

When my MacBook Pro comes out of warranty I'd like to remove the optical drive and put in an SSD, to hold my apps and OS.  I have a 13" MBP, early 2011, with a 500GB SATA HDD (5400 RPM).
I'm generally handy with tech stuff, but having looked into this, am a bit uncertain on the best way forward, so am hoping to get advice from more experienced types on this forum.  Issues and questions so far are...
    1) Stage 1 - determining specs and approach
The first issue for me is to determine...
    - Whether it's better to house the SSD in the HDD bay and move the latter into the optical drive bay, or whether I should leave the HDD where it is and put the SSD in the optical bay.  Given my MBP model, which is best?
    - What SSD is best?  I’m currently looking at this, which includes a data transfer kit.  Crucial's M4s seem to be pretty good for this sort of thing:
    http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=B9BCBF75A5CA7304
    - What cables, adapters, bays, software etc are appropriate for my model?  I’m based in Australia and will likely order much of the kit from abroad, so if I miss anything, it’s likely to be a (frustrating!) wait.
    - I’m also keen to put a case around the formerly-internal optical drive so need to figure out cables and cases for that.
    2) Stage 2 - Doing the swap
Seems that the best thing is to find a super-simple how-to video.
As there are quite a few out there, any opinions on ones that are great (and ones that are to be avoided!) would be welcome.
    3) Advice for use once installed.
Assuming I’ve gone through the process correctly, I'll put my OS and apps on the SSD.  Then...
    - Can I simply delete the OS residing on the HDD?  Understandably I want to avoid any bad-or-irreversible-without-great-pain mojo.
    - Ditto for apps.  Is there anything required to ensure any settings and preferences don’t get lost?

Okay - I'm getting closer to doing this.
I'm leaning toward getting this bay for the HDD and this enclosure for the optical drive, to make it an external.  Fortunately it's available from an Aussie retailer. For me it's a little hard to figure out from the description whether this only works to shift the HDD to the optical drive bay and whether that means I'd need a separate bay/adapter to mount the SSD in the boot drive location, so any advice would be wonderful.
This is the SSD I'm looking to get: 256GB Crucial m4 2.5" SSD with Data Transfer Kit.
And I'd get CCC.  Is there anything else I'd need (cables, bays)?
And a last question: I have a number of apps that are registered/authorised to my current machine - Kindle, iTunes and Final Draft.  Do I need to de-authorise them, before loading them on my SSD, or will the applications see them as still being part of the current machine?
    Thanks again for any help!

  • Best optical media (cd/dvd) for optical drive, iMac 21.5

I had my optical drive replaced 2 weeks ago. I had bought 3 different cd/dvd media OEMs. The imac will recognize some but others fails. Apple refuses to publish or share a list of media that will always work with their optical drive. One tech guy told me to buy only +r/+rw format. Ha, thats hard to find and much more expensive. So what is best cd/dvd -r/-rw disks to buy???? Frustrated imac owner..I cannot keep buying and returning disks! Thanks

Well, these iMac drives are finicky and, they are superslim laptop style drives installed vertically where any media could easily shift by 1/100th of an inch, so it's a gamble. I usually use my external burner - it is solid, works well, and can read anything. I've learned that the drive in my iMac likes Verbatim or Imation disks, so you might want to try one of those - they use different drives (change the mfr occasionally), so yours may be different.

  • Which DVD Burn Software for Blu-ray from Folder

Per the recommendation in Steve Grisetti's PrE11 book, I would like to burn to a folder and then to DVD and/or BD-R.  However, based upon the Adware problems with downloading ImgBurn, it does not appear to be the way to go at this time.  I understand using Custom install on their "options", but it appears that even the most knowledgeable people sometimes get caught.
Therefore, what is the recommended software for burning DVDs and Blu-ray DVDs from a folder (for those that don't have old versions of ImgBurn).  I will purchase software if that is the best route.

    Ed
I do not endorse any particular program (up for purchase) for the task of taking video files to DVD-VIDEO, AVCHD format, or Blu-ray disc format on disc. Note that I wrote Nero or program like Nero. One of the app of the Nero program is the "Nero Burning Rom".  Use that in your google search. That is the app in a Nero version that you should need for your task. If interested in Nero for this feature, please check out the Nero web page for the versions that have the Burning Rom and the associated price after you have looked at the tryout. The following is a how to for Burning Rom feature
    http://ftp6.nero.com/user_guides/nero2015/burningrom/NeroBurningRom_en-US.pdf
There are other programs on the market that can accomplish the task. Nero products have a long history of often competing with other programs for the burner, but I have not run into that issue using an OEM version that came with one of my computer burners. All the Burning Rom should be doing is taking your files already in the DVD-VIDEO or BDMV structure to disc, not creating those structures.
In spite of what you have read, I do not consider Premiere Elements burn to folder to be a "native" approach/route to DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc. I see that only as a troubleshooting alternative when the user experiences unsolved Premiere Elements burn to disc issues. Have you run into problems with the Premiere Elements burn to disc - burner not recognized and/or media not present/other?
Looking forward to learning of further developments.

  • Best DVD burner software for mac

I have made some simple movies I want to burn to DVD with menu options.  What is the best (at a reasonable cost) burner softwar to puchase. Have done some research and read the reviews but still confussed.

Handbrake to copy to avi or mp4(I use it for watching my DVD's on the go, so my battery lasts for a longer time)
I think MP4 is better quallity.
To copy a DVD: simply use Toast (maybe withe popcorn, but I don't use it).
But, be legal! This is a forum, and anyone can see your posts!

  • What is the best burn software for itunes?

I have Roxio software package but it won't read some of my songs on itunes. Is there a prefered software for itunes burning?

One of the best softwares for this is iDVD, but that is no longer included with iLife. You can still buy the retail version of iLife 11 at various online resellers. It does not produce true HD although the quality of my home movies is outstanding IMHO. If you want the closest to HD you can do then you can buy Roxio Toast along with the extra HD Bluray plugin; I tried it and could not tell the difference once I played the DVD on my HDTV though, but I am farsighted and sit quite a bit farther away from it than others. I don't believe Roxio offers a free trial - I use it to burn after giving my project the final touch in iDVD with its customizable menus and themes.

  • Best DVD Burning Software for My Powerbook

I just got a burner and was curious as to what the best software for burning was?

The point is Popcorn does two things - compresses non-protected DVD media to fit a single DVD and some file conversions many of which you can cover with QT pro or MPEG Streamclip.
Toast 7 does as well plus is a full service DVD /CD writiing program. Popcorn came out while Toast 6 existed which did not compress.
For some reason Roxio still pitches Popcorn 2 and tries to sell it relentlessly to Toast 7 owners at a discount, which makes no sense. Since Toast 7 has the technology. I guess I should not be surprised as Roxio still pitches the new Toast 7 to people who already upgraded at a discount to Toast 7. From Roxio.
As for a DVD burning program, it is not that at all - it is a MPEG-2 compressor and that is the extent of its value other than file conversions. You cannot make data discs or anything else since that would limit sales of Toast 7.
The OP wanted a DVD burning program not a one hit wonder. Too bad you bought Popcorn, no need to flog it to people who want better.

  • Burning Software for my T61 7658-18U

    Hello,
I have a T61 with windows 7 32 bit. The problem is I cannot find the burning software, it seems it was lost in the upgrade from Vista.
I've been searching through all Lenovo Site and couldn't find a link to download it. All I could find was this information on the Roxio Creator, but as you can see it doesn't reference my Lenovo model:

Can I still download one of this versions without any problem or can you give some help on what should I do?
    Thks!

    Hello,
I do not have any experience using the Roxio Creator software, but on my T61p (MT: 6459-CTO) running Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit, I used both Canneverbe Ltd.'s CDBurnerXP and Lightning UK's ImgBurn to master and burn CDs and DVDs.  Both programs are free (CDBurnerXP comes with a sponsor app that you don't have to install, ImgBurn asks for donations).

  • Service Repair Quote for Optical Drive replacement

Can anyone tell who much it would cost to replace the DVD-R/CR-W 8X MATSHITADVD-R   UJ-846: in my iMac Intel (Early 2006)? i recently found an identical optical drive on ebay? i just need a quote for the installation not the parts.
    thanks

Since these are user to user forums, your best bet would be to ask an authorized service provider or stop by an Apple store to ask.

  • Disk burning software for mac

Apple no longer includes iDVD software for burning disks - any recommendations?

You can buy iDVD as part of the iLife retail.
Roxio Toast has some features that are nice.
Dragonburn has some features that are nice.
And for the real pros there is Final Cut Pro X which offers most if not all the features the budding video editor might want.  It appears Apple's old DVD Studio Pro website has been set to redirect to their FInal Cut Pro X website.

  • Possible solution for optical drive problems

I recently purchased a memorex cd/dvd lens cleaner at best buy and cleaned my drive with it. It now reads everything it wouldn't before. I haven't tested it but I imagine burn reliability is better too. For those that aren't having real troubles with their drive, you might try a dvd cleaner. My drive is a GWA4080MA. Disks that are now readable include TDK DVD-RW and +RW, Sony DVD+R DL, Sony DVD-R and Office Depot DVD+R DL.

A lens cleaner brought my drive back from the dead (according to Apple) so I second that suggestion.
