ISO Mac Box Set Family Pack - iWork reg. number to install on 2nd MacBook

I've been using iWork on my MacBook pro for about a year now, and never got around to installing it (DVD) on our 2nd laptop, a MacBook.
I purchased the Mac Box Set - Family Pack for this very need and it's now asking for an iWork registration # when I try to run Keynote.
How do I retrieve the iWork registration number? I don't see iWork registration #'s on any of the package contents.

That being said, I have not tried this myself, so I cannot say with certainty that it will work.
A good idea would be to try to upgrade to an external FW drive, so you can test first. Second, remember that you will need to update many apps that are Tiger apps to work with SL.

I bought "Mac Box Set Family Pack (10.6)" (Product Number MC210Z/A) primarily to upgrade three Leopard Al Macbook machines.
I have two Tiger (10.4.11) - one MB white with Core 2 Duo and one MBP with Core Duo. May I know if the upgrade will work for these machines as well ?

Mac Box Set Family Pac

Hello All - Please forgive me as I know this has been asked before and I can't seem to find it. I purchased a CD Mac Box Family Pac set of iLife iWork and Snow Leopard. How do I get iworks programs to show up in my purchased tab in the app store?

Huh? If you buy a new Mac it comes with Lion (not Snow Leopard) and the latest version of iLife apps that can be upgraded from the App Store. So where is this "have to purchase it again?"

Are there serial numbers associated with each licenses for each of the 3 pieces of software? With the Family version do you then get 15 serials numbers?
Or is the difference, just simply how many computers you're technically allowed to install each title on, per the ULA?

Mac Box Set for iLife '09 and iWork '09 - what does it mean for me?

Apple recently offered the Mac Box Set on their online Store:

It comes both in family and single user license.
If you recently bought a new Mac on or after January 6, 2009, and it lacked iLife '09 after January 6, 2009, Apple offered an up to date program for iLife:

The program ends on March 28, 2009. Your order must be postmarked or faxed by April 3, 2009, and received by April 10, 2009.
Assuming it is not extended, I won't ask this tip to be updated.
Since the Mac Box Set includes iLife '09 and iWork '09, check the system requirements below to see if your Mac is able to use that update:

Mac OS X 10.5.6 will run on any PowerPC or Intel Mac that is 867 Mhz or faster with built-in processor (not including the 800 Mhz dual processor Macs or slower), with 512 MB of RAM, and 9 GB of free disk space. Realistically that has been found to be 9 GB+ 15% free of disk space by end users.
1. If you bought your Mac on or after January 6, getting the iLife up to date, and iWork '09 installer may be the most you'll need to do if your Mac didn't come bundled with iLife '09.
2. If you bought a new Mac post December 15, 2008 but pre-January 6, buying iLife and iWork separtely is probably the best deal.
3. If you bought your Mac post October 26, 2007, but pre-December 15, 2008, the Mac Box set will work with your machine, but may not be necessary unless you lack the ability to contact AppleCare, and lack the ability to get the original discs that came with your Mac, and have no other way to install 10.5. Getting a single user license is good if all you have is one Mac that meets those qualifications, and a family pack if you have 5 Macs in the same household that meet those requirements.
4. Macs purchased prior to October 26, 2007, get the best deal out of the Mac Box Set if they meet the iLife, iWork, and Leopard requirements. Updating from Tiger to Snow Leopard without buying the Mac Box Set

Is it possible to update from Tiger to Snow Leopard without buying the Mac Box Set? My sister already has iLife 09 so I could borrow it and simply buy Snow Leopard. Is that possible or would it still violate the licensing agreement?

Runs Tiger and has Mac Box Set. Confused?

Hi all!
I've have just got a copy of Mac Box Set as I want Snow Leopard and the new iLife and all that jazz! I have a MacBook that is running Tiger 10.4.11 at the minute. I'm not the most technical person in the world so can I just put the Snow Leopard DVD in and just install it? I wasn't too sure!
Any help or advice would be great.

I assume you mean install SL without updating iLife and iWork? If so, then Yes.
I'm not sure what versions of iLife and iWork still function under Snow Leopard, so you may or may not run into a problem there.
[This site|http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/start] has compatibility info for iLife apps. They are listed under Apple, not iXXX.

Mac Box Set: Leopard at 9$?

I already have Leopard. What can i do with the new copy of Leopard? Because is interesting to buy it at 9$, but is interesting if useful

The box set will contain a Leopard install disk that installs version 10.5.6 directly. So your "extra" $9 buys you the convenience of not having to run software update to get back to 10.5.6 should you ever need to reinstall Leopard on your Mac. (Depending on the age of the Leopard installer disk you already own, it will install anything from 10.5 on up -- if a retail disk, it will be 10.5, 10.5.1, or 10.5.4; if a model specific disk, it could be almost any version; & if an upgrade or "drop-in" disk, you would have to install Tiger first.)

No, that is not necessary. It has been much-discussed here, but there's no difference in the license between the single-user box set and the $29 single-user copy of SL. It's exactly the same OS with exactly the same terms of use. The box set is recommended as "the best way" to upgrade, according to the Apple Store, because it will update old copies of iLife and iWork that may not be very SL-savvy.

The number of user accounts is not controlled by the license. You can have one user or fifteen, for all Apple cares. It would be more accurate to call the "single-user" copy of SL the "single-machine" copy. The license controls how many different machines you can run it on. The 5-user box allows you to run on 5 machines.

You can upgrade from10.4 to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.4 will run under10.6
You won't need the box set unless you want the latest iLife and iWork. If you only want iPhoto or other single apps you can get them from the App Store, which you get added to the OS and the dock when you’ve upgraded to at least 10.6.6. iPhoto, iMovie and Garage Band for $15 each and Pages, Keynote and Numbers for $20 each.

HT1349 Upgrade retail Mac Box Set apps in Yosemite through App store.

I did a clean install of Yosemite and am now reinstalling iWork and iLife apps from my retail Mac Box Set. It installs but when I try to upgrade the software I get the message that it does not qualify to upgrade with my User ID. Is this because I didn't originally register it correctly? I tried doing the registration through the iWork apps but still get the same message. Are these earlier apps useless now and must be repurchased through the App Store?

How can I upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard wihout violating EULA while Mac Box Set is no longer available?

I use my original Tiger bought with MacBook Pro. But now so many applications do not support Tiger, so I decided to upgrade to SL.
But required by Apple way to do this with Mac Box Set seems to be impossible. Mac Box Set is no longer available from Apple.
Is upgrading using Snow Leopard disc, which is still in Apple Store, ok?
I will be gratefull for help.

The Mac Box Set includes Mac OS X Snow Leopard, iLife ’09 and iWork ’09. If you just use the SL installer, you don't get the additional apps.

If this is a new box you just bought ad the disk is bad, Apple will replace it for you. OTOH, if you have lost the disk or it has become damaged over time, that is your responsibility, and though I don't speak for Apple, I'd be very surprised if you had any option other than buying another copy.
