Isolating/manipulating joined arcs in Flash

In illustrator when using the pen tool and drawing
arcs/curves, you may connect a series of curves and manipulate
individual curves without affecting the ajdoining curve. I
accomplish this by drawing curve #1 , selecting the end anchor
point of that curve, press the option button, then drag a new curve
using that end anchor point as the beginning point of the new
attached arc or curve. All the preceding arcs are attached as a
single object but I can manipulate each arc individually. How is
this accomplished in Flash? If I attempt this in Flash I get the
change direction icon and I lose one of the 2 handles on the
previous curve!

As kglad said, pay attention to the 4th frame in a button. There are 4 frames. First is the "off" state, second the "mouse over" state, third the "mouse being pressed" state and lastly the "hitarea". For each of these frames (states) it's up to you to put the right graphics in, if you wish to use buttons.
The 4th frame of a button (or again, the "hitarea") is where you want to place an object that covers the area where you want the button to be triggered when your mouse enters it. That's the frame (in each separate button) you want to draw an outline of each region. You do not put the stroke in that frame or it will be considered a valid "hitarea" and when you roll over the stroke it will trigger the button. Right-click in that frame in the timeline and "insert a blank keyframe" to remove the stroke from it and then draw your region in that 4th frame. So keep your "hitarea" frame to just the area you want to trigger the button.
Once the button is triggered via rolling inside the "hitarea" you defined above, it will show whatever you put in frame #2 or a button (the "mouse over" state). That's where you want to put a stroke that's highlighted in some way to indicate to the user the stroke is assigned to that region.

  • Joining Path in flash

    Hi all,
    I'm very new in Flash so pardon my simple question. I can't
    seem to get 2 path join together after drawing them out seperately
    on the workspace. I understand that if the path is not close, the
    bucket fill can't be used.
    Thanks for your help!

    Yes, mc1 and mc2 are both on the root timeline. The similar issue is that using a relative path does not work. Its been awhile since I used Flash and could do wonders with AS 2, but AS 3 is hard to get used to. (second nature to start typing _root...). I was told to avoid absolute paths and vars, and use events. What is the best way to have a movie clip play and then tell another (sibling) movie clip to play when it reaches a certain frame? When mc1 stops on frame x, the code below runs. The commented line is the one that does not work.
    var fl_SecondsToCountDown:Number = 1;
    var fl_CountDownTimerInstance:Timer = new Timer(1000, fl_SecondsToCountDown);
    fl_CountDownTimerInstance.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, fl_CountDownTimerHandler);
    fl_CountDownTimerInstance.start();
    function fl_CountDownTimerHandler(event:TimerEvent):void
    Object(root).mc2.play();
    //Object(this).mc2.play();
    fl_SecondsToCountDown--;

  • [n00b] Manipulating object parts in Flash

    I am looking at potentially using Flash and/or Flex for a
    large new project and I have one major issue. We have a large
    number of SVG files that would need to be displayed and manipulated
    through whatever interface we choose.
    I have found out that SVG can be readily converted to EMF and
    this is a format which Flash understands. However, once I add the
    EMF files to the Flash project, how can I manipulate the various
    parts of the graphic (i.e. a
    line, a rectangle, a path etc.) from within a program? And
    would that program have to be written in ActionScript?
    I have Adobe CS4 Master Collection and Flex Builder 3 so any
    of those technologies would be suitable.

    I think Flash is fine, but Papervision is a poor choice for 3D. It's not even been developed in years... go to away3d.com, that's probably the leader of the pack right now for 3d engines in Flash. Here's a demo, with source, that seems appropriate to what you're looking for: http://clockmaker.jp/blog-en/2013/02/away3d_earth_and_moon/

  • Manipulating Browser Cookies in Flash Frontend

    Hello there,
    From a post by Chris Paine in [this thread|Reading Cookies from Webdynpro ABAP; I learned that Flex does (sort of) support cookies. However, I am unable to download the Actionscript Cookie Util from the [official site|http://depositfiles.com/files/ry60vxfh8].
    Could anyone provide this library for download, or any other way?
    Sorry if this is slightly off-topic.
    -- Sebastian

    Hi,
    you might try
    [Cookie In Flex ActionScript|http://workingsoftwaresolutions.blogspot.com/2010/01/cookie-setting-in-flex-actionscript.html]
    But it looks (I'm not sure) that the link you referenced is only temporarily down...
    I suggest you post on the author's blog - he seems to be a very helpful sort of chap. I'm sure he could sort something out for you!

  • Is Adobe Air update always come together with Flash Player update?

    There seems no security update for Air from this page:http://www.adobe.com/support/security/
    But I noticed that the Air security patches appear to be joined with the Flash patches.
    www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb10-06.html
    www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb11-28.html
    Can I get confimation that whenever there is an security update for flash player, there is also an update for Air?

    This seems to be the case, as the two products are developed by the same team.

  • Where are LETOOLS for USB? The "ADB" Driver does not work with Windows XP

    I just give up with Lenovo's arcane maze of endlessly-looping driver searches.  I managed somehow to get something called an "ADB Driver" which was supposed to allow Windows XP to recognize my tablet as a K1 Ideapad.  I downloaded the 8+mb file which installed fk knows where and plugged in my K1 tablet.  Windows recognized that it had a USB device, and when prompted to hunt for the driver (which of course I couldn't find, since Lenovo sent it into the ether) I had to back out and then hunt through my entire Windows directory for an inf file containing the word "Android".
    For the unsuspecting, it hides in something called -- get ready for it -- OEM16.
    I guess the L, N and V keys were missing on the keyboard of the moron who labeled this pos driver.  Oh good programming Lenovo NOT but since a chimpanzee programmed Lenovo's driver site I suppose it's of a piece that a baboon packaged this worthless driver.  This isn't an eCommerce site it's a zoo.
    I guess it was too difficult for Lenovo to include a CD with their Windows USB driver family on it.  I mean . . . that would have cost them $.0000002.  Jesus wept.
    All I want to do is have XP know that the "USB Human Interaction" device I have plugged in is my K1 Lenovo tablet.  Don't send me to Google for a USB/Windows Android driver, they direct everyone to the site of the manufacturer of the tablet.  And don't insult my intelligence by even countenancing the possibility that Google's arch rival would stoop to offer any means for their OS to talk to (cough hack) Android.
    I get that it has to be a Lenovo driver and/or program.  So where the f is it? because this is massively pissing me off.  And one other thing:  No link to Lenovo.  I don't appreciate being manipulated by Lenovo's flash crap only to land on a driver download site that says "We can't find it."
    No.  Direct me please to any non-lenovo download portal that has the most recent version of LETOOLS and hope I don't have to come back here with yet more frustration.  This is the most needlessly idiotic driver service I have ever had the misfortune of being tethered to and I hope never to have to engage with it ever again.  May I please know where LETOOLS can be downloaded?  Thank you.

    Hi know-vo,
    I'm sorry that you couldn't find LETools. I've cheked with internal team and was told that actually we do have the software, but it's called "Synchronization Software". Did you try that?
    If you browse to ADB Driver page by clicking "Learn More" in support site, there is a note indicating that this ADB driver works with Synchronization Software.
    Sorry for all the inconvenience caused and. I hope this info above helps.

  • How can charge files text in a Datawarehouse Database???

    All the days I receive 20 files to charge to my Datawarehouse Database. The files names are NAMETABLE_YYYYMMDD (ex. SALES_20040511)
    In some files, for example to charge the Sales table, I have to join 2 files texts (or charge a Temporal Tables), because the SALES files text don’t have the correct Customer Key and I receive other file text with the Customer Key and the UnifiedCustomerKey appropriate
    How can I charge it???
    1)     SQL Loader
    2)     External tables
    3)     Another…
    What I the best way???? (I have oracle 9i)
    Could you recommend one of them???
    Thanks

    Unless I misunderstand, you shouldn't need to change the data in the underlying text files. Just map them as external tables and do whatever manipulation, joining, etc is necessary in SQL.
    If your file names change, you would have to create new external table definitions. You can certainly do this at runtime with dynamic SQL, just be aware that DDL issues an implicit commit before and after the operation, so you can't create new external tables in a transaction.

  • Watch/Monitor Buttons do not show the correct state

    I programmed several Watch buttons on SPA500 module and some buttons stay lit red even though the phones are not used.  When pressing the button it does call the Vacant phone.
    How can I fix the state to be correct and only be lit red when the corrsponding phone is used?

    Hi Guys,
    Was this problem ever resolved?
    I am having the same issue. Cisco CME on 2851 router. We have several Cisco 7970 IP Phones all provisioned at the same time, and all working fine. I have a 7914 module monitoring the phones and one is showing as off hook. (BLF -1).
    The phone that is showing offhook is ephone 7, it is being monitored by ephone 4. I have done factory reset, firmware upgrade, reset and everything recommended above but still having the issue. The red light indicates that the phone is offhook or not present although it is cleary registered to the CME.
    You can see from the show ephone register below (ephone 4 is monitoring ephone 7) that ephone 7 is showing as offhook when it is not and is also registered and working. It shows:
    button 33: cw:1 ccw:(0 0)
      dn 22 number 122 CH1   IDLE         CH2   IDLE         watch(BLF on phone -1) shared with monitor-ring
    I have attached config and tftp debug below. If any one can shed some light it would be much appreciated.

  • Decimal to hex convert

    Hello,
    sorry but i have a simple question. I want to convert decimal number 0-10000 (like 10000 (decimal) to 27 and 10 (hex) or 1000 (decimal) to  03 and E8 (hex)) to two hex numbers and back. Iám searching for an easy way.
    I tried different ways but i can`t find a solution.
    greetings Schwede

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    A very quick an easy method. For numbers go to palette numeric>>data manipulation>>join numbers and split numbers

  • How can I convert four elements of an array of I8 to an I32?

    I am new to LabView I am trying to index through an array of bytes and pull out either 2 or 4 bytes and store the values in either words or longs. Is there any easy way to do this?
    Thanks
    David

    Hi,
    there is function Advansed\Data Manipulation\Join numbers.
    It get 2 numbers of 8\16 bits and join them to one 16\32 bits number.
    In your case you need to take 2 MSB 8-bits numbers and join to 16-bits number. Same thing do for 2 LSB numbers.
    After this join to 16-bits numbers to one 32-bits.
    I hope that help you.

    -impossible to attach automatically a wireless network
    -impossible to install in automatic mode (after deployment) profiles configurations
    Since the last update ios 7.1 I must be enroll all the ipads in 2 stages for completion, in addition to manipulations joining the wireless network, why? How to go back one step?

    I've just seen this message for the first time and it's showing on 10 devices.

  • Adobe et ses universités...

    Bonjour,

  • Submiting a form with variables packed into an associative array

    I have a complex form created in flash that submits to a
    shopping cart. I was having trouble getting the variables in the
    right format for the shopping cart to accept.
    So I created a bridging script in php that fills in the
    hidden fields of a form then uses javascript to submit it to the
    cart. This works but I would like to submit the variables directly
    to the cart and eliminate the need for a bridge.
    At the moment I am simply using
    getURL("bridge.php", "_self", "POST");
    to POST the variables to the bridge.
    The bridge code is
    <?php
    $id[txt_1] = "$colortext";
    $id[txt_2] = "$xheight";
    $id[txt_3] = "$xwidth";
    $id[txt_4] = "$nopanels";
    $id[txt_5] = "$shutterstyle";
    $id[txt_6] = "$squarearea";
    $id[txt_7] = "$finish";
    $id[txt_8] = "$bifoldoption";
    $id[txt_9] = "$slidingoption";
    $id[txt_10] = "$hingedoption";
    $id[txt_11] = "$totalprice";
    $id[txt_12] = "$colorcode";
    $products_id = "28";
    ?>
    <form
    action="product_info.php?products_id=28&action=add_product"
    method="post" name="MyForm" target="_self">
    <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit">
    <input name="id[txt_1]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_1]); ?>">
    <input name="id[txt_2]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_2]); ?>">
    <input name="id[txt_3]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_3]); ?>">
    <input name="id[txt_4]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_4]); ?>">
    <input name="id[txt_5]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_5]); ?>">
    <input name="id[txt_7]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_7]); ?>">
    <input name="id[txt_6]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_6]); ?>">
    <input name="id[txt_8]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_8]); ?>">
    <input name="id[txt_9]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_9]); ?>">
    <input name="id[txt_10]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_10]); ?>">
    <input name="id[txt_11]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_11]); ?>">
    <input name="id[txt_12]" type="hidden" value="<?php
    print($id[txt_12]); ?>">
    <input name="products_id" type="hidden" value="28">
    </form>
    <script type="text/javascript"
    language="JavaScript"><!--
    document.MyForm.submit();
    //--></script>
    I am trying to create in flash 8 the equivalent of the above
    form using the function below.
    function submitvars() {
    var id: Array = new Array();
    id.txt_1 = colortext;
    id.txt_2 = xheight;
    id.txt_3 = xwidth;
    id.txt_4 = nopanels;
    id.txt_5 = shutterstyle;
    id.txt_6 = squarearea;
    id.txt_7 = finish;
    id.txt_8 = bifoldoption;
    id.txt_9 = slidingoption;
    id.txt_10 = hingedoption;
    id.txt_11 = totalprice;
    id.txt_12 = colorcode;
    var myvar:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    myvar.id = id;
    myvar.products_id = '28';
    myvar.send("product_info.php?products_id=28&action=add_product",
    "_self", "POST");
    So far the variable products_id = ‘28’ transfers
    over to the cart fine but not the variables in the ‘id’
    array

    You're welcome.
    I've never used register globals, couldn't figure that out,
    thanks for explaining.
    The other way to do it if you want to send an array of simple
    data (usually all of one data type like string or number) is to use
    array.join("delimiter_sequence"); in flash. You can then assign it
    to a single property of your loadvars (e.g. 'id') and use explode
    in php with the same delimiter to recreate an array. This does not
    give you an associative array though, just a regular numeric
    indexed one.
    To send complex data like arrays and objects, you can use
    other encoding techniques. You can even use json: json.org has a
    json class(es) for flash and php 5 has json encoding/decoding
    support for example.
    Another way is to use amfphp and remoting, which does all the
    work for you. And of course, you have XML support as well at both
    ends, so you can always represent complex data in XML if you
    prefer. You may want to investigate these or other methods on
    future occasions.
