ISP Problem?

Greetings from The Great Smoky Mts.
OK, here's the problem....
We are new to computers in general and Apple in particular....
We had a WebTV for about 5 years and because there was no harddrive, we couldn't download....therefore, we subscribed to a hosting site at the wtv-zone (which back-upped all data weekly) and is the host of our website and a place to store photos in our file manager....
Then we got our iMac G5....
Not knowing about things like browsers and ISP's, and such, we thought when NetZero said they were compatible with Mac, all would be well....
When we visited our site at The Zone, we noticed that some of the photos in our files were only partly loaded and had a grey area at the bottom....after much trying, we discovered that photos of up to 29kb showed fully, but any of 30kb's would not....depending on the kb's, more and more of the picture would be cut off.....
The administrator at the zone was as baffled as us and first suggested it was a browser problem....we called Apple and the guy there said he was using Safari and had no trouble viewing our photos....we tried downloading Foxfire and even though it read the presented page slightly differently than Safari (cut off squarely with no grey area) it still had problems fully loading pictures over 29kb's.....The administrator at The Zone was very helpful and patient but after sending us several pictures of his own from different sites, suggested that we had an ISP problem....
OK, we need to know if anyone else has experienced similar ISP problems in general or with NetZero in particular....we are reluctant to change to another only to have the same problem....NetZero said they supported OS X....
We saw one called ArcZip which also said they were compatible with Mac.....anyone using them?
If anyone with an iMac G5 using Safari as a browser can take the time to visit one of our pages and let us know if you see fully loaded pictures it would be appreciated...Here's the addy: http://www.wtv-zone.com/wendrick/signs.html
Thanks in advance for any input.
Regards, Wendrick

Here's thanking both Barbara and Bob for taking the time to view our page of photos.....Glad to hear that the problem isn't an Apple problem....We still haven't heard from anyone who is using NetZero...Why would we if that is our problem...lol....We got a message from customer support at ArcZip which said they work with all OS X versions....Guess we'll have to switch....Thanks again for your responses...Regards, Wendrick

  • Wireless problem - ISP Problem?

I've noticed a little problem with my internet connection.
I'm using firefox and when I'd type in an address the status bar would read "connecting to google.com" or whatever and it wouldn't connect to the site. I'd sometimes have to hit refresh a few times to get the site to load.
So, this happened tonight and I opened up Safari and the same problem occured. Safari gave a little message saying you are not connected to the internet. My Airport icon shows full strength and it didn't display a loss of connection at this time. After hitting refresh a few times, the page loaded OK.
I have noticed this problem happened a few times yesterday but only once today. Perhaps it's an ISP problem? My ISP is BT Internet.
My modem is a Netgear DG834G and my computer is about 3 meters away from it.
Weird thing about this is that I was chatting on IRC at the time and didn't get disconnected from the server......

OK so this happened again today, after not happening for a few previous days. I looked at all the lights on my modem / router and they were all lit up. This time I need to turn off Airport and turn it back on again, then things worked perfectly.
When this happened to me today I was again chatting using IRC and I got disconnected from the server. I'm not sure if this is what counts as a dropped connection, the Airport icon in the menu bar still reported full strength. I tried to log in to my router from my computer but I couldn't! I had to restart Airport to do so. Like I said no lights were out on my router so I'm guessing it's an Airport fault?
The logs from around the time this happened read -

Does anyone know if there's a way to have my Airport completely ignore all other networks and only show mine in the drop down menu? I do have interference robustness turned on. I can sometimes get up to 40% noise on my network according to iStumbler.
Just to add something else, I restarted my machine and haven't had a problem since. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

  • Redirected to Europe (ISP problem??)

When I go to google.com I am redirected to Google UK, but the problem does not seem to be google specific. Even when I go to non google sites the banner adds are for casinos etc in europe. Other banner adds are advertising for items in euros NOT dollars.
I am wondering what the heck is going on. Does it seem likley that the problem is my ISP? I plan on going to a coffee shop today and will use their wireless network to see if I am still being redirected.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated
    thanks rjj

Camelot may well be onto something about Trojans.
There are no viruses in the wild (i.e. outside laboratory conditions) that can affect Apple OS X, but it is possible to pass on Windows viruses to other users. For this reason alone you should download and install the free virus checker ClamXav from:
    http://www.clamxav.com/
Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger automatically checks your downloads for malicious software and content that could harm your system or collect information from your computer. You can read more about that here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2340
If you feel you need added protection, read on:
SecureMac has introduced a free Trojan Detection Tool for Mac OS X. It's available here:
    http://macscan.securemac.com/
The DNSChanger Removal Tool detects and removes spyware targeting Mac OS X. Called DNSChanger Trojan and also known as OSX.RSPlug.
Upon running the installer, the user's DNS records are modified, redirecting incoming internet traffic through the attacker's servers, where it can be hijacked and injected with malicious websites. The trojan also installs a watchdog process that ensures the victim's DNS records stay modified on a minute-by-minute basis.
SecureMac's DNSChanger Removal Tool allows users to check to see if the trojan has been installed on their computer; if it has, the software helps to identify and remove the offending file. After a system reboot, the users' DNS records will be repaired.
There may be other ways of guarding against Trojans, viruses and general malware affecting the Mac. A white paper has recently been published on the subject by SubRosaSoft, available here:
    http://www.macforensicslab.com/ProductsAndServices/index.php?mainpage=document_general_info&cPath=11&productsid=174
    Also, beware of MacSweeper:
MacSweeper is malware that misleads users by exaggerating reports about spyware, adware or viruses on their computer. It is the first known "rogue" application for the Mac OS X operating system. The software was discovered by F-Secure, a Finland based computer security software company on January 17, 2008
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacSweeper
On June 23, 2008 this news reached Mac users:
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/06/23/mac_trojan/
More information on Mac security can be fund here:

Then this from July 25, 2008, is:
Attack code that exploits flaws in the net's addressing system are starting to circulate online, say security experts.
The code could be a boon to phishing gangs who redirect web users to fake bank sites and steal login details.
In light of the news net firms are being urged to apply a fix for the loop-hole before attacks by hi-tech criminals become widespread.
Net security groups say there is anecdotal evidence that small scale attacks are already happening.
    Further details here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7525206.stm
On October 30, 2008, MacWorld had this article:
Malicious software that emerged on Facebook.com in late July has surfaced again, this time using Google's sites to sneak around security filters.
On Tuesday, researchers at unified threat management vendor Fortinet noticed that a program similar to the Koobface worm had started using the Google Reader and Picasa sites to spread. In the attack, criminals host images that look like YouTube videos on the Google sites in hopes of tricking victims into downloading malicious Trojan software.
    http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/index.cfm?email&NewsID=23354
On October 31, 2008 there was some more 'dramatic news':
The details of about 500,000 online bank accounts and credit and debit cards have been stolen by a virus described as "one of the most advanced pieces of crimeware ever created".
The Sinowal trojan has been tracked by RSA, which helps to secure networks in Fortune 500 companies.
RSA said the trojan virus has infected computers all over the planet.
"The effect has been really global with over 2000 domains compromised," said Sean Brady of RSA's security division.
He told the BBC: "This is a serious incident on a very noticeable scale and we have seen an increase in the number of trojans and their variants, particularly in the States and Canada."
The RSA's Fraud Action Research Lab said it first detected the Windows Sinowal trojan in Feb 2006.
Since then, Mr Brady said, more than 270,000 banking accounts and 240,000 credit and debit cards have been compromised from financial institutions in countries including the US, UK, Australia and Poland.
The lab said no Russian accounts were hit by Sinowal.
RSA described the Sinowal as "one of the most serious threats to anyone with an internet connection" because it works behind the scenes using a common infection method known as "drive-by downloads"."
Users can get infected without knowing if they visit a website that has been booby-trapped with the Sinowal malicious code.
The article goes on to say:
While attacks are on the increase, there are some simple steps that users can take to protect their information besides using security software.
"We have a saying here which is 'think before you link,'" said Mr Manky.
"That just means observe where you are going on the web. Be wary of clicking on anything in a high traffic site like social networks.
"A lot of traffic in the eyes of cyber criminals means these sites are a target because to these people more traffic means more money," he said.
RSA also urged users to be wary if their bank started asking for different forms of authentication such as a social security number or other details.
"People think not clicking on a pop up or an attachment means they are safe. What people don't realise now is that just visiting a website is good enough to infect them."
RSA said it is co-operating with banks and financial institutions the world over to tell them about Sinowal. It has passed information about the virus to law enforcement agencies.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7701227.stm
Moral: Be careful where you go on the web and what you download!

  • A networking problem or an isp problem?

I posted here last week with a mysterious problem i was having -- it turned out to be a bad modem, which was replaced yesterday.
the (new) problem is, i can now only connect to the internet when my ibook is directly connected to the modem. neither my airport network, nor a direct connection to my powerbook recognize the internet connection. the ibook was the computer the comcast technician used to register the new modem, and other times i've started a new isp service, once it works on one computer, the internet connection will easily transfer to other computers and/or the wireless network.
so my question is, is this a problem with my network/computers, or a comcast problem? i thought i'd check here first since it is such a hassle trying to get answers from their support, who know very little about macs. here are the details:
1)airport network and all computers were working fine last week.
2)the modem broke (thursday) and was replaced yesterday
3)now the ibook can access the internet with a direct connection to the ethernet port
4)powerbook does not work when connected directly (it gets a "self-assigned" IP address and cannot find any servers)
5)neither the desktop nor either laptop can connect to the internet via the airport network, even though the airport admin says that it's connected to the internet.
6)computer to computer connection over the airport network works fine.
any ideas? (i've already tried power-cycling the modem and airport as well as restarting all computers and the airport through the admin)

Hello Frank, I hope it's OK if I leech onto this thread. I am having the same problem as post #1. I can only connect to the internet when the cable is plugged directly into the ethernet port of my powerbook. Here are my system info.
    Powerbook 1GHZ
    Graphite Base station
I also had a modem replaced two days ago. When the Comcast tech guy configured the modem it was plugged directly into the computer and everything worked fine. After he left, I tried to put the Airport in the loop and could not get on the internet.
I called Apple tech support to troubleshoot and we tried everything as far as the Airport goes (hard reset) and everything appears to be OK. The tech said that i should call Comcast and talk to the about provisioning. He said that when they installed the new modem that they sent the computer MAC address and recorded that and that MAC address is the only one that will be able to log onto the internet. He said if I call Comcast and give them the MAC address of the Airport, they should be able to change the MAc address they have and everything will be OK.
I called Comcast and they claim that is not the case. They say that the modem only uses the LAST MAC address that was connected to it and it must be a router problem.
I have tried the 30mins. unplugged and reset the modem and router and it did not work. I'm lost here......
Sorry for the long ost, but just wanted to detail the whole timeline....
    Thanks, Steve

  • Neither Firefox or other web browser will access the net UNLESS I use the restore feature. The next day the problem occurs again and again I have to use the restore feature? It works on my laptop so not ISP problem do I have a trojan or something?

It seems that no browser will work. Firefox is my preferred browser but IE wont work either unless I use the restore function and then they work fine. However if I close my computer down for any reason they wont work and again I have to use the restore function. My email program works just fine (I use Agent) my ISP says there is no problem with my connection. My Firefox on my laptop works just fine and it uses the same connection as my desktop where the problem is.

This can be a problem with the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.

  • Internet via Ethernet - new password from ISP, problem to connect now

    Hello folks,
switched to Mac 1 year ago and found alot of great information in this forum. Thanks first !
But I´m also facing a problem:
    (white iMac C2D OSx 10.4.11)
I used to connect to the Internet via Ethernet Cable and my DSL-modem (PPPoE). iMac also connected to Internet automatically. Great so far.
But then I got a new password from my ISP.
I changed it in the System preferences (also checked in Keychain, correct one is in there) and now my problem:
    - when I go <...>-icon, click "open internet-connection", and then click manually "connect", my Mac connects to Internet
    - when I go to <...>-Icon, then directly click "connect" -> no connection possible -> password not accepted ?!?
    - when I activate "autmatically connect to Internet when needed" in the PPPoE options -> also not possible -> password not accepted ?!!
Is the old password stored somewhere on my Mac? I also tried to delete my ethernet connection and set up a new one, but I´m always facing the same problem? What´s wrong here ?
Hope you guys can help me !
Thanks & best regards from Germany,
    Satch

Just followed your instructions and created a new 802.1x connection, entering my data etc. When I click "connect" status says "connecting" and that´s it, nothing happens.
What I don´t understand is, why do I have to create some sort of new and different connection. I mean, everything was working fine with "Ethernet (integrated)" until I changed that damned password. Isn´t there a possibilty that the old one was saved in a chache (or system file etc.)?
Too bad, it´s really the first problem I face in my one year plus Mac experience!

  • Audio/ISP Problem

I have recently purchased a pc with a K8T Neo-FIS2R (ms-6702) motherboard.  I run Windows 2000 Professional and have never had a problem.  Everything is well except that when I enable my audio card, my internet software (Walmart Connect) will no longer work.  I have tried a soundblaster card as well as the onboard audio card.  When the audio card is disabled, then wmconnet will initialize and get to the dial up screen where I can connect.  If I enable the sound card, the software gets to the "software initializing" screen and hangs forever.  At this point, I either have internet OR sound, not both.  The modem is present and working no matter what, so I really don't see the problem as a modem or IRQ issue.  Can someone shed some light on this problem?

    Hi Guys
did not say it was, asked for specs for machine, how else are we gonna know what wrong??????
PSU is a BIG part. lack of power to board causes all sorts of failures of drivers and devices.

  • Is this a Mail problem or an ISP problem?

I've cleaned out my "Sent" folder and my "Trash" folder and my inbox has all of about 25 e-mails. YET, I keep hearing from that darned mailer-daemon that "Your account is using 9M of mail storage,
this is close to its 10M storage quota."
Is 10M really the equivalent of 25 text only mails or are there more emails hiding somewhere in Mail OR is my ISP screwing me over? This is really annoying. Any help, much appreciated.
    Brian

    Hi Brian,
Consider your question as "answered". Kieran's post is your answer: he mentions one of the most poorly documented features of Mail, one that you cannot access by any menu at the top as far as I know.
A fast way of getting this same info is the keyboard command "Command-I", also very poorly documented, but also very handy.
Hope that this helps a bit,

  • ISP Problems - All network status LEDs are green, except Internet and Serve

System, Macbook Pro Airport Extreme, D-Link cable Modem.
Randomly I loose the internet. I run Network Diagnosis and it shows green for Airport Airport Settings Network Settings and ISP, but yellow and then eventually red for Internet and Server.
I run the Network Diagnostics and it usually will resolve the issue, but I'm wondering if I should be complaining to my cable company or changing some setting.

For anybody experiencing similar difficulties the solution was the security settings on the wirless router. I had to get Orange to access my Macbook remotley to change from wep to wap2.

  • ITunes Connection Problem.... What isp?

Time Warner RoadRunner Minnesota ..... I wonder if a change in my ISP is causing problems.

per the previous post here's a comment posted by someone else on the forums which explains why this is most likely to be an ISP problem (apart from Roadrunner admitting that they are having unanounced 'migration' issues.....
Traceroute shows no hop from so-14-0.hsa3.sanjose1.level3.net (4.68.114.154) in Colorado. Contacted Road Runner and their phones are off the hook. The guy from Road Runner was very knowledgeable and helpful, and referred me to LEVEL 3, the company who owns the server that is freezing iTunes Store traffic.

  • Certain I have an ISP iTunes download problem - anyone else experienced?

I live in Jakarta and I recently switched to a new ISP. I can download all podcasts onto my PC and selected ones from my MacBook Pro but many constantly get the stopped err = -3150. The PC can access all websites I type in but the Mac doesn't allow me to connect to the same ones. It's odd but I think between iTunes and Safari and the PC working just fine that I have an ISP problem with the Mac. Anyone else had this happen and what was the final resolution if any?
    Thanks,

From what I've read, this definitely has to do with your ISP. Give them a call and let them know what is happening.

  • Help needed with connection problem before I chew off my foot.

I am on 24/7 with Virgin.
From last Friday, my connection telephone number has been constantly engaged.
BT tell me it is not a valid number (?).
I can access the internet just by changing the number in remote access to the one I'm using now - a pay by the minute number.
This leads me to believe thay my settings are correct - as they have been for a considerable time.
Virgin have responded once with a standard reply confirming the telephone number (useless) to four e-mails. There is an unconnected (no pun intended) 'server' problem with their 'online help'.
I am on Netscape or IE, external Zoom modem and I haven't done anything which might alter my settings.
Any help would be much appreciated - even sympathy might make me feel better!
Please bear in mind that I am a techno-idiot with any advice offered.
    Thanks in advance.

I get a perpetual 'engaged' tone with a mechanical woman telling me that the number is busy, please try later.
The 'helpline' is a premium number. Cleverly, I have had premium numbers blocked on my 'phone line to defeat the fraudsters re-directing calls.
This means that I have to use someone else's 'phone to call a premium number!
Since last Friday, I have sent a total of six e-mails to Virgin and received one 'standard' reply which was of no help.
I agree that it seems like an ISP problem.
However, perhaps someone could kindly talk me through the things I ought to be checking on my computer (in words of one syllable where possible!).
    Thankyou in anticipation.

  • I give up! I need help to solve this problem.

Just a heads up you will need coffee.
Please this is driving me mad and I cannot solve it I really, really can't! So here it is in a nutshell because I'm done! With trying to solve this by myself because clearly I'm not getting it.
So here is my understanding in short say 101 of networking put simply just as a base of understanding..... you get a IP from your ISP with a gateway IP in a subnet range and within that range you ARP to send from your IP to another IP in that range for the MAC (technically this MAC can still be the ISP gateway MAC and route by IP without knowing MAC for that other IP in your subnet but....works either way) and to send from your IP to an IP out side the subnet your in you send to the ISP gateway MAC where it will be routed.
This is from windows 7 and when you ARP that MAC e6-1f-6d-6c-db-da is my ISP for all of 10. for all of 172.16. to 172.31. for all of 192.168. and 169.254. replys with that MAC every-single-one! From a request by ARP IP sender like 77.96.238.3 (if that was my IP) in 255.255.254.0 for them target IP's! (except the ones in the subnet of the subnet your in) The reply comes from my ISP gateway basically saying for sending to IP's in 10. for all of 172.16. to 172.31. for all of 192.168. and 169.254. is over where my ISP gateway IS! ITS NOT!

The XP TCP/IP stack does not do this and you might think that my windows 7 has a problem it does not because the TCP/IP stack in windows 7 is a rebuild of what the TCP/IP stack was like in XP but whats done is done and that how the windows 7 TCP/IP stack is and that should be a eye opener as to why nothing has been done about this but thats just me saying that but its not really a TCP/IP stack problem. So is that my ISP problem? The answer is no because even if my ISP did not reply you still can send requests from a valid IP like 77.96.238.3 to your ISP a ARP with a target IP that does not and should not exist out to your ISP gateway like 192.168.0.1 yet you can.
The simple fact is this there is no, none and nothing to make a ACL for ARP to drop the target/sender IP's for the 0806 Ethertype.
And I have tried this Dynamic ARP Inspection with both DHCP Snooping/Relay and ARP Inspection in a two port VLAN on the right port for this Trusted Interface to be on and Enabled VLANs for ARP Inspection is set with ARP Inspection Status & ARP Packet Validation enabled and in DHCP Snooping/Relay with DHCP Snooping Status & Verify MAC Address enabled and VLAN set for DHCP Snooping. Does not stop this.
Maybe just maybe if the DHCP Snooping looked at the Option 1 & 3 for the Subnet Mask & Router to know the range that the ARP Inspection can drop ARP for target IP's outside that range because like I said to send from your IP to an IP outside the subnet your in you send to the ISP gateway MAC where it will be routed only then would that Dynamic ARP Inspection work as I was hoping for but sadly no.
So please tell me why I can't simply drop ARP for given target/sender IP's is their another way (and NAT is not a solution) that ideally makes ARP for from 77.96.238.3 as the sender for a request for a target IP of 10. for all of 172.16. to 172.31. for all of 192.168 and 169.254. NOT reach my ISP BUT allows ARP from 77.96.238.3 as the sender for a request for a target IP within the given subnet to my ISP for a reply.
A million THANK YOU to anyone for helping me with this

I really do not get why providing a config would help because if you have a config that does what I need should it not be you to provide a config or tell me how? Why not tell me how if you know how? because I need to understand how if you know what I need to do.
But here is how its setup:
    Administration
    System Mode L3
    VLAN Management
    Default VLAN Settings 20
GE1-GE7 and GE10 VLAN 20 Trunk Untagged with GE8-GE9 Forbidden

    IP Configuration
    IPv4 Interface VLAN 20 Static 192.168.1.254 255.255.255.0 Valid
    DHCP Snooping/Relay

Verify MAC Address: Enable - ticked
    Interface Settings
VLAN 10 DHCP with Snooping Enable - ticked
    DHCP Snooping Trusted Interfaces

GE1-GE8 and GE10 Trusted Interface No
    ARP Inspection
ARP Inspection Status: Enable - ticked

    GE9 Trusted Interface Yes
GE1-GE8 and GE10 Trusted Interface No
    VLAN Settings
    Enabled VLANs VLAN 10
    Access Control
IPv4-Based ACL – note this is based on Ethertype 0800 it will not help me drop ARP which is Ethertype 0806 this really does not help it really does not but works for 0800 not for 0806 Ethertype.

  • ITunes and Safari access problems

    Running 10.3.9 with Safari 1.3.2
Suddenly I am having problems with iTunes and Safari. I can no longer access my account in iTunes, get Keychain Invalid error, I have run Keychain first aid, nothing works. Completely deleted all keychains, and still no access
I also can no longer download from Apple site, have limited access to areas on the Apple site. Certain pages from the Apple site aren't loading completely.
Certain other websites not accessible anymore, getting "couldn't establish secure connection" error message.
Seems like something changed in my security settings.
Can access from other computers in house, so not a ISP problem.
Any suggestions on what might be causing problem.

    kevgil,
It is not necessary to post a duplicate topic asking the same question. If you find that you are not receiving help from someone you can always "bump" your existing topic by just replying to it. That will of course bring it to the top of the list.
Anyways, you mention "Can access from other computers in house, so not a ISP problem". It would help to know if these other computers are using 10.3.9 and Safari 1.3.2? Are these computer connected in any different manner than the affected computer that you are having the problem with.
Did you try the browser that I suggested in your previous topic (Camino 1.6.8)? Safari 1.3.2 is no longer supported and will have many problems with certain websites and their features (such as flash version etc.) Please try Camino and let us know if the problem persists. This will at least let everyone know that the problem is not with an outdated browser.

  • Solution to problems of "Double NAT" or until to Back to My Mac (BTMM)

    Folks,
Here is a couple of easy steps to try to resolve these problems, at least with Qwest ISP / using the ActionTec M1000 aDSL modems / routers.
I struggle for a while on this one and finally found the right information that made this easy.
    Typical MAC configuration:
aDSL connection to your home, via a current technology ActionTek M1000 Modem provided by the ISP in my case Qwest communications. You buy a nice Airport Extreme or Time Capsule and you don't understand why your System Preferences -> MobileMe -> Back to My Mac shows an AMBER indicator and states that you can't use this option due to network / ISP problems.
    So, here's a simple explaination:
By enabling BRIDGE-MODE on the AE (Airport Extreme) you have the ActionTec Modem being the DHCP server for your home network... That's good, if you hibit NAT on the aDSL modem... which isn't initially easy... but it actually is...
So, without drawning pictures: Your configuration should be as follows:
1 -(ActionTek M1000) aDSL modem connected to LINE connection to your household phone outlet
2 - Ethernet WAN connection to the WAN port of the AE
3 - Access the ActionTek Modem via your normal method... http://192.168.0.1
4 - Go to the Quick Setup on the web menus
5 - Make sure you have your aDSL username and password written down (very important)
6 - Goto to the ADVANCED tab on the modem web screen
7 - Scroll down to the button for RFC-1483
Word of caution here... First, anything you do can be undone by using the REST button on the back of the modem - so, don't worry....
Once you click on the RFC 1483 - go done and hit apply... The screen will freeze for a couple of seconds and then you get a THANK YOU page.
The modem will be going through a Power Cycle and watch the lights... You'll see the modem in a idle mode - NOT connecting - Again - don't worry you didn't break anything.
Now, go to your AirPort utility on your MAC that is either connected on the wireless or wired.
I did this entire procedure using wireless, but it's completely up to you.
The airport utility should still see your AE - of course you don't have Internet access right now.
In the Airport Utility - You need to select your AE or Time Capsule whatever you have as a router.
    Go to the MANUAL SETUP
    Goto Internet
Drop down the Connect Using (it should have been Ethernet, switch it to PPPoE
Enter your ISP information that was on the ActionTec Modem
Account Name: [email protected] (in my case)
Password: whatever you had - if you don't have it... You need to call the ISP and get it reset
Verify Password: Yep, type it again....
Sevice name: optional - I didn't provide any
The option below: Connection Sharing will be grayed out and you will see Share a public IP address
    CLICK on UPDATE...
Now.. your on your way.... Unless your prior configuration customized your DHCP setting.
If you get a warning that you have a DHCP error...
Go to the Menu bar - Base Station - Restart
Once the AE restarts.... Repeat the above steps to apply the PPPoE and account information
Once you've entered the information and successfully rebooted the AE... You'll see your aDSL modem
    connecting to the Internet...
    YOUR DONE!
Your AE is the only Router on your network and the ActioTec is only a Ethernet to aDSL converter.
Here is the Qwest document you can follow...
    http://www.qwest.com/internethelp/modems/m1000/modemDetailM1000advanced.html
Performance is exactly what is expected and all the MACs and iPhone in my home are happy...

No, not unless it is simply a network connection.
How is your IPTV being provided.. if it is using a separate vlan or separate vpi/vci in the adsl connection. Who is your ISP?
    Is the TP-Link ADSL?
Is the IPTV using a separate voice channel on adsl?
    Or a different vlan.
Sorry but it is something where a definite answer is not possible unless you provide all the details.
The setups are unique to each ISP around the world..
Here is one for our local ISP.
    http://www.avenard.org/iptv/Setup.html
He has a section on getting this working with apple router over wireless.. look
    http://www.avenard.org/iptv/IPTV_and_Wireless.html
Google around and see if other people have had success.. the whole setup is tricky.. and it is hard if nobody has used it who actually understands networking.
