ISqlPlus start
Hallo
the server (RedHat Linux), on which the database is running, was rebooted. Now i can´t connect to iSqlPlus in InternetExplorer. The Webdav-Folder, iSql or the "normal" connect to the database works fine. How can the admin start the iSqlPlus?

You won't be able to find it, it is a 10g specific command, from the above post I can see you are working with a 9i.
It is not necesary to start up manually, at the time you startup the apache server, it starts automatically. So you should be able to access your isqlplus command from the URL: http://yourHost:yourApachePort/isqlplus

I'm running 10g R2 on Ubuntu 7.04 Server. The DB, EM and SQLPlus are running fine. iSQLPlus however, isn't running at all, without feedback (I think) whatsoever. If I run isqlplusctl start it comes back to me with iSQLPlus started and it didn't start at all... The logs in $ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee/isqlplus/log show only a few entries, of the day the system was installed.
The system has a different IP since the installation, could this be an issue?

Problem with isqlplus (10.2) on Windows XP

I have just installed Oracle 10.2 on XP and I have checked isqlplsu to be installed. This machine. When I try to connect to isqlplus I have the error message :
The connection was refused when attempting to contact "machine_name":5560
When I try to do "isqlplusctl start", I have the following error :
Failed to start the service Error 203; the system has not found the specified environment option.
The italic portion above is translated from french.
Same thing when I try to stop it (just replace start by stop). In the two cases it says that isqlplus started (stopped) in spite of the error message.
When I check Windows services I find that isqlplus service is running but without any possibility to change its status (all options are not available). The start/stop buttons from Windows are not active.

It works now!
The only thing is that I reinstalled jdk.
In fact, I had jdk on my machine and I removed it a time ago before installing Oracle. I reinstalled it without any modification to environment variables and isqlplus works.
But I am surprised because AFAIK, Oracle installs its own jdk. so what could it be?

Installed oracle 10.1.0.3 on windows XP professional and applied the isqlplus patch. isqlplus started successfully.
URL: http://spanguruwxp:5506/isqlplus/dba displayed the page sucessfully , After entering the login info when clicked on the "login" button following error is displayed.
"PAGE NOT FOUND".Can you access either of these pages:

Can you verify that iSQL*Plus is started in the Services dialog and that there are no errors logged in the Event Viewer?
You may also want to set the level of error logging to be more informative using the steps outlined in the SQL*Plus User's Guide and Reference:

How to start OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus service from command line (PC)
After installing 10G, I now have a service with this name: OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus
I need to be able to start/stop the service from windows 2000 command line,
BUT "net start OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus" DOES NOT WORK.
Adding quotes around the service name does not solve the problem either.
Both attempts give "The service name is invalid" errors.
Can anyone provide a solution?

1) Renaming the service only changes the display name, and then when you use "net start", it errors with: "The service name is invalid"
2) call isqlplus start errors with "isqlplus is not recognized as an internal or external command..."
3) You cannot execute isqlplussvc.exe directly either.

I can not access to the isqlplus from the client
Version: Oracle 10.1.0.2.0
I have installed Oracle 10.1.0.2.0 on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8.
I can access to my dbconsole from PC without any issue.
I can also access to the isqlus environment from the server without any issue.
But I can not access to the isqlplus from client or PC.
I can go the first web page of isqlplus by using isqlplus url by clicking on isqlplus icon under home page of dbconsole.
But I enetered username and password.Its bring error page.
Note: isqlplus start up on the server.

Error_log in apache server keep on growing
I found the error_log in apache server keep on growing in every second! Anyone can tell me why it's growing like this?
I have Oracle 9i Database on Windows XP Professional on Core 2 Duo/ 2 GB RAM machine.
I have a peculiar problem. The error_log file in C:\oracle\Apache\Apache\logs\error_log keeps increasing in size rapidly, until my whole hard disc of 250 GB gets used up. The first time I had this problem, I thought it was some virus, then I traced it to this file.
I tried deleted this file, but again its cones & stars growing until I STOP HTTP server.
I also tried to make error_log file 'READ ONLY' but issue is not resolved.
Can anyone tell me what the cause and solution of this problem is.

Installing HTML DB on the existing AIX oracle 9.2.0.4 database

I am new to HTML DB and want to know how to install this on the existing oracle 9i database at AIX 4.3.3 OS. Can anyone please tell me is it possible to install on the same existing oracle home or does it have to be installed in a separate Oracle Home?? Please let me know where are the DOCS for installing on the AIX OS? Is there a step by step install guide for AIX? And a user guide?

I tried to log in to the database using the same username/password/connect string as was in wdbsvr.app and was successful. It's not a SQL*NET issue. When I tried from the browser still get the same page not found error with no errors in the apache log that means it's connecting to the database but not finding the right page?? All this I am trying from 9i oracle home. The Apache log says:

I just installed Oracle9i database and everytime I reboot, the Apache HTTP Server trys to start. It gets and error and the error log fills up until my hard drive is full. here is the error log...

Htmldb installation: please help
i installed the HTMLDB 1.6 and HTMLDB 2.0 AND APEX 2.2 et al in a Oracle9irelease2(9.2.0.7 after a patch applied to 9.2.0.1) in mutually exclusive phases(only after the others were removed) but when I typed the URL of the form http://hostname:port/pls/database_access_descriptor/ at the browser ,the following output is generated and nothing else appears on the page:

I started with APEX 2.2 and found that I was required to run a patch for a unmatching database character set and DAD character set which in turn required some fixed versions of OWA lest July 2005 CPU or later be run before running the patch ,and July 2005 CPU was not available for Windows Server 2003 .The same case was for htmldb2.0.So I decided on 1.6 but the problem still remains as described above.

I can't get Isql*plus page in browser
Hi All,
I have installed Oracle 10g on Windows xp professional and all seemed fine.I was able to acces the EM with this http://host:5500/em which was in C:\ORACLE_HOME\install\portlist.ini.
I had this entry for isql*plus :http://host:5560/isqlplus .Yet when I type this in address bar, I get page cannot be displayed?
Why is this so?
1)I have ping server_name

Why can't I get a page for Isql*plus from my browser?

Thanks1. Ensure that iSQL*Plus is start from the Windows Services or from the command prompt using isqlplus start
2. From the Browser, ensure that the port is correct. It must not be port 5560. So you need to check in $ORACLE_HOME/install/portlist.ini for the correct port.

Serious hard disk space issue (9.2 on XP Professional, 56 GB not enough)
Hello,
I installed Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on HP Pavilion running Windows XP Professional (Pentium 4).
Following are the numbers about disk space:
Space before starting Installation: 56.8 GB
Universal Installer indicated Enterprise Edition needs 2.86 GB and I selected General purpose database.
Universal Installer in summary before starting installation shows:
Space requirements as
C:\Required 2.57 (includes 90 MB temporary): Available 56.82GB
After completion of installation: I had hard disk space available as 32.6 GB (Approximately 25 GB space was taken)
Within couple of hours hard disk space dropped to 12 GB
and some thing kept taking the hard disk space.
Where is the problem? Oracle? XP? HP?
After uninstall Oracle and deleting Oracle home space is 56.5
Am I doing some thing wrong?
Earlier I tried the same on XP home edition and within couple of hours I ran out of space on same computer after installing Oracle 9.2
Any pointers, help greatly appreciated.

You were right HTTP was the problem. It keeps writing to
error_log file in Oracle\ora92\Apache\Apache\logs folder till hard disk is full.

How to fix this? I tried to read about HTTP server but unable to figure out the proble.
ALl help will really be appreciated.
One more thing, path mentioned in file does not exist message, folder vtibin and msoffice does not exist.
Is this IE 6.o problem?
