Issue accessing iCloud account

There's an iCloud account with an appleID on my laptop that I don't recall setting up. I deleted it and set up my regularr Apple ID as the primary iCloud account on my laptop.
Now all the notes on my laptop have disappeared.
I have tried reinstating the deleted iCloud account but don't know the password. I have tried to reset the password but it is not coming through to any of my email addresses.
I really need to reinstate this account as the notes are for my work! I can't access them on iCloud - same issue - I don't know the password and no email seems to be coming through with the reset.
I'd be really grateful for any help!
Thanks.

The account name is my hotmail address followed by @me.com so its definitely associated with me. I am wondering whether it was setup when i took my laptop in to be repaired, so perhaps I should ask them. It doesnt recognise my date of birth either. Really strange. Any other way I can recover my notes?

    Hi brattlee,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has steps to take after you change your Apple ID:
Apple ID: What to do after you change your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5796
    iCloud
iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iCloud.
If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download to your device.
If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked to confirm that you want to delete data from your device. To confirm, tap Delete. (If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, you'll be asked to enter the password for your previous Apple ID. Enter the password, then tap Turn Off.) The data will be deleted from your device, but not from iCloud.
Enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download again to your device.
    Cheers,
    - Ari

  • Big problem accessing icloud account

We have multiple devices connected to our iCloud account and just logged out using our Mac system. All devices are happily using iCloud but we can not log back into our account on the Mac and are told a mix of Can't log on at this time and ID and password not recognised.
We therefore attempted to renew the password and following the iForgot prompt got to enter the new password screen. On entering a new password we are being told that the account is currently in use and advises us to login...
Wasted time trying to use the support system as everytime I entered details of the problem in the support screens I end up with either - look at the System Status screen (which is all green) and absolutely no option to express concern.
Apple, with all the money you make, eitehr provide a robust iCloud service or at the minimum provide somewhere people can go when it starts to fall apart

Thanks Lanny, unfortunately when we encountered the problem, no issue was being shown on the status page as mentioned, our frustration is that although they include a contact support on that display if you have issues that are not shown, it just takes you back to the self help system with no means of reporting an issue anywhere...
    Thanks anyway...

  • TS4036 Accessing iCloud account from old email address that's no longer active

HELP!  My iPhone 5 screen died and Apple cannot repair it.  The phone still works and it is under warranty but I am having difficulty getting my calendar, notes and contact info.  I was able to download the pictures on to my PC at home using iTunes but not the data. When I go to iCloud I get a message telling me to go to a message sent to the original email account used when I purchased my first apple product (laptop) but I no longer have access to that email account.  I have set up other iCloud accounts since then but seem to going in circles trying to find this very important data.  Before I return the damaged phone for replacement I want to make sure I have exhausted every resource.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
Note: this will only work if the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID).

  • Issues accessing iCloud from ipad2

Each time I try to access iCloud.com that page tells me to "set up iCloud on this device" but I believe it is already set up and I keep going round in circles without managing to get full access to iCloud.com. Within settings within the iPad iCloud is showing - it is even backing up to it!
    How do I overcome this?

Access to iCloud on an iOs device is pretty much limited to apps - Pages, Numbers, Notes, Etc.Safari cannot access it and even if it could, what you can do when you get there would be extremely limited due to the sandboxed structure of iOS. Some thrid party browsers can open it, iCab Moble for example - but only those that allow settings the browser ID to a non mobile browser. Functionality is still limited. You best bet to get to iCloud.com is via a browser on a computer (IE 9 or above, or Chrome; Safari if on a Mac).
What is it you are attempting to do?

  • Outgoing email issue with iCloud account

This is a new ipad2. I seet up an iCloud account.  I can receive email, but outgoing isn't reaching the recipients.  I attempted to change the outgoing smtp to smtp.mail.me.com.   In mail it shows as being sent but it isn't going through. Any ideas ?

You didn't say what you've tried, but if you haven't already done so, try temporarily recreating the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID.

Daughter setup icloud account at initial setup and cannot remember password, not 100% certain of username either - cannot retrieve password as goes to that icloud account when resetting.  I have a primary apple id we use for all devices so this should be a secondary one - cannot log in under primary id either...
Can I do a reset? It just sits at activate ipad screen

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Unfortunately, unless you know the Apple ID, there is absolutely nothing that can be done, you cannot use your mobile device. You may be able to find your Apple ID at Look up your old and forgotten Apple ID

  • Anybody can tell me how to access my iCloud account from iPad ?

When trying to access iCloud account with safari, I do not have the window where I input name and password as in explorer . Anybody knows how to solve this problem? Is not possible at all? If so, it is not true hat you can use iPad without any computer at all

Well, the complete icloud.com website should be accessible from both Computer and iOS devices
There are many things you can do only in the web interface as:
    - set up holiday message
    - reset photostream
    - share calendars
    - setup auto-forward
    - manage aliases
    - manage rules
    - manage email folders
iOS devices claim they will replace home computers but it is still far from reality
My guess is that Apple is trying to progressively integrate its online services in "packaged" applications and eliminate usage of web browsers that are difficult to trace and to control

  • My ipad has frozen with a sign which says cannot access my icloud account. i cannot get rid of this nor can I close my ipad down or go on anything else.  any suggestions

My ipad has frozen with a sign which says cannot access icloud account, can either press ignore or settings and whichever I press it wont let me. It has frozen it and wont even let me close down or go onto anything else...

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons

I now find that I keep gettting the message that the username or password is incorrect when trying to access icloud account How can I sync my new apple id email and my icloud account information. The Apple id email on my icloud account information is the old email and is greyed out.?

    Hello there, HK55.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great follow-up information for once you've changed your Apple ID:
Apple ID: What to do after you change your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5796
For iCloud on an iOS device it recommends the following:
iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iCloud.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.
