Issue: color assigning, eyedropper, groups, type object and stuff

Hi there!
I have some wierd problems with my beloved illustrator. Eyedropper and swatches assigning seems to be wild... I will try to describe three situations: what is happening. Tell me please, what am I doing wrong...
1. Group of shapes in one fill color, black for example.
- I have group of black shapes, complex logo perhaps. They are literally grouped.
- I want to change their fill color to white.
- I select the grup with black arrow and choose white from swatches.
- Nothing happens.
- I have to ungroup shapes, then select them with black arrow and then I can change the color.
2. Group of shapes in several fill colors: black, yellow and white for example.
- I have several grouped shapes in different colors.
- I want to change all of their fill colors to white.
- I select the grup with black arrow.
- Illustrator should show "?" in the Fill/Stroke part of the tools panel, becouse there are selected shapes with different colors. But instead I see completely different set of fill and stroke color. Probably ones I've used in some before action.
- But OK, fine. I try to assign one color to all of my shapes anyway. But gues what?
- Nothing happens.
- I have to ungroup shapes, then select them with black arrow and then I see my "?" and then I can change the color.
3. Text object, plain text, paragraph, grup of text layers - all the same.
- I have some black text.
- I want to change their fill color to white.
- I select the text object with black arrow and choose white from swatches.
- Nothing happens.
- I have to use text tool to highlight my text and then I can change the color.
In all those cases I use swatches or eyedropper to take color from another shape - result s the same. This is crazy... Don't know what to do. And the worst thing is I have same problems at work, where I use Mac, and at home, where I use Windows.
Please help!

Besides, I would say the easiest way would be to select object with black arrow (V), then use eyedropper (I) and click on my rectangle there. But I just can't. Maybe it's because in my file, you can see two layers of text and I see one...

We want to do the account assignment for movt types 101, 102, 122, 123, 201, 202, 261, 262 accourding to the movement types.
We are aware that the Transaction Key is 'GBB'.
But how to know that which 'General Modification' is used for which movement types.
(in short where we can find this link between movement types and Transaction Key and 'General Modification')

To know this first you have to know what does the different general modifications means for GBB:
AUA: for order settlement
AUF: for goods receipts for orders (without account assignment)
and for order settlement if AUA is not maintained
AUI: Subsequent adjustment of actual price from cost center directly
to material (with account assignment)
BSA: for initial entry of stock balances
INV: for expenditure/income from inventory differences
VAX: for goods issues for sales orders without
account assignment object (the account is not a cost element)
VAY: for goods issues for sales orders with
account assignment object (account is a cost element)
VBO: for consumption from stock of material provided to vendor
VBR: for internal goods issues (for example, for cost center)
VKA: for sales order account assignment
(for example, for individual purchase order)
VKP: for project account assignment (for example, for individual PO)
VNG: for scrapping/destruction
VQP: for sample withdrawals without account assignment
VQY: for sample withdrawals with account assignment
ZOB: for goods receipts without purchase orders (mvt type 501)
ZOF: for goods receipts without production orders
(mvt types 521 and 531)
You can also define your own account groupings. If you intend to post goods issues for cost centers (mvt type 201) and goods issues for orders (mvt type 261) to separate consumption accounts, you can assign the account grouping ZZZ to movement type 201 and account grouping YYY to movement type 261
Then go and check OMWN.

Nested object assignment to super type object

Can anybody explain how objects, which are nested as attributes into other object and have type hierarchy, are assigned?
Let view the following type hierarchy

In the next PL/SQL code I assign objects which are in type hierarchy:

After executing the fragment, '1' will be printed.
Let now add a new type

In the next PL/SQL code I will try to assign attribute (which is nested object) to its super type.

How to group some objects and duplicate it and then enlarge the same group using javascript ??

I need to write a javascript which will group some object on running the script and then duplcate the same group.After duplicating it will enlarge the same group upto some extend.The object will be generally inside the textframes.We have to group them and then make a duplcate of the group on the same page.Please tell me the javascript code to do the same.

Can you input records to a COLLECTION TYPE object and use it as a table??

My PL/SQL stored procedure creates a list of employee number and phone number records. I don't want to store them in a table. I will be passing this list from one procedure to another in my package.
I created the object type (record) and collection type (table) using this statements.

How to create a Type Object with Dynamic select query columns in a Function

I'm trying to figure out how to write a piplined function that executes a dynamic select query and construct a Type Object in order to assigned it to the pipe row.
I have tried by

Hi Justin,
First of thanks for your reply, and coming to my requirement, I need to report the list of items which are there in the dynamic select statement what am getting from the DB. The select statement number of columns may vary in my example for different countries the select item columns count is different. For US its '15', for UK it may be 10 ...like so, and some of the column value might be a combination or calculation part of other table columns (The select query contains more than one table in the from clause).
In order to execute the dynamic select statement and return the result i choose to write a function which will parse the cursor for dynamic query and then iterate the values and construct a Type Object and append it to the pipe row.
Am relatively very new for these sort of things, welcome in case of any suggestions to make it simple (Instead of the function what i thought to work with) also a sample narrating the new procedure will be appreciated.

I have not used Object Groups and Object Libraries extensively....and am trying to understand them
Having read the form builder help ,I am still not clear with the following.
My questions are as follows
1)When should I be giving preference to Object Group over OBL?
2)Why will i use an Object Group ,when an object group's object is just a pointer to the
object in the form module?
Grouping of similar objects for one single form module only,does'nt provide me much benefits?
3)How will I reference an Object group's object and not a form's object which I have
moved into the object group and vice versa?
4)OBL module has a data block(say emp) as one of its many object,
how can I use this data block in my new forms module(will I be copying this data block
object from the attached OBL to the data block node of the form module in OBJECT navigator?).
will i have to create a Layout manually if I use the data block of OBL or will forms
builder automatically create a layout for this OBL data block.?
5)What are the types of objects which CANNOT be included in OBL and Object groups?
I am aware that I can't include an item of a data block if i don't include the data block itself.

Then, if you just copy/subclass the object group from the Object library, all the blocks, items, canvaces would be created automatically in the target form.

Only the Parent objects can be included in the Object Group (Child objects cannot). However, in the Object Library, you can add the parent as well as child objects. Here, for ex, parent is a data block and child are the items inside the data block

Characteristics for class type 001 and class 59111 - Message Re-phrased

Hi All,
Let me put in better words.
The requirement is to get the list of Characteristics that are associated with a particular Class type and Class that would be entered by the user in selection screen. I have used KLAH and KSML to establish the link and got the relevant characteristics list configured. It worked for me for most of the Class type and Class combination.
The issue is on particular class type 001 and class 59111, if I put a lookup in KSML, I don't get any records. But if we look in the configuration CL02 for the same Class type 001 and class 59111, I see a list of characteristics configured there.
Does anyone know how to fetch the characteristics on this particular case?

Thanks for looking into it and replying with your thoughts.
What you have mentioned about the approach on getting the characteristcs from KLAH and KSML is exactly how I have written in my program. Ofcourse your second statement of going into AUSP to get the values for characteristics for an Object (eg: material number XXXX) is also correct.
But my issue is still on getting the relevant characteristics for the class tyoe 001 and class 59111. I need to display to user the relevant characteristics that are configured for Class type 001 and class 59111. But when I go into KSML passing the internal class number and class type, I don't get any records. If you see, I am not searching characteristic values for an object, I am searching for characteristics itself.
The question would be, why records are not maintained in KSML for class 59111 (though they show in CL03) . or there are any other tables to read characteristics...

1. We can use distribution groups to create e-mail distribution lists. Distribution groups can be used only with e-mail applications (such as Exchange) to send e-mail to collections of users.
2. Security groups are used to assign permissions to shared resources.

Grouping Anchored Objects

I have an anchored graphic image (using Object, Anchored Object, Insert) and need to add a text box under the graphic and a rectangle frame with a stroke on top of the image to highlight a portion of the image.
What I would love to do is anchor the graphic image and then group the text box and graphic rectangle to the anchored graphic and have all move together. NO LUCK, I guess you cannot select and group multiple objects if one of them is an anchored object.
The work arounds are
1) Anchor EACH of the three objects which works fine but takes a long time.
2) Group the objects and paste them "inline"
3) Group the objects and manually move them when your text moves.
Is there any way to group, attach or link objects to an anchored object so all of them move with the anchored object?
Have InDesign 3 and 2 (same results)

Right clicking on the anchored graphic and using the "Paste Into" option to paste the three grouped objects worked wonderfully. Thank you so much.

Animation: how can I move objects (and their transform keyframes)?

Hi,
I have created a project with a group of layers which all move (have transform keyframes set up).
Now I want to move the group, but when I do this and then run the animation, the position of all the transform keyframes I have set up remain in the same place.
Is there some way to move a group of objects and the location of their transform keyframes at the same time, or will I have to go through each keyframe and move them individually?

Removing Objects O and S from info type 1000 and 1028 in Distribution model

Hi,
My requirement is to remove the objects O and S in distribution model from the filter group of Info type 1000 and 1028.
After removing the objects I perform the below steps:
1. I send an employee (P) through PFAL.
2. Once the employee data is reached to receiver system, then check the employee from PA20.
3. From the Organization Assignment info type (0001), check whether the Org unit and Position text appears on the screen.
Currently after removing the objects O and S, the texts do not flow. But only the org unit and postion id flows to info type 0001, not the text.
Is there any other method or some other configuration to send the texts to the receiver system, apart from maintaining it in distribution model? We want the texts to be displayed in PA20 and PA30 screen for info type 0001 ( along with org unit and position id).

Hi,
the text for O and S are stored in infotype 1000...so PA30 reads them from that table. So if you want to have the texts in the target system you need to send at least infotype 1000. Why don't you want to send it?.

Smart Object and blend mode issue

I have an object that I moved from another image and needed to resize. The object is an image of a bottle and glass, with both the bottle and glass having reflections from their base. They both also have some layer masks with the reflections. I grouped the glass and bottle and created a smat object before the move to the new file). Anyway everything worked fine, except the reflections are much stonger in the new file (they are sitting over the same colored backgrond as in the original. If I open up the smart object and put a background behind the images and the reflections (background is transparent)everthing looks as they should. The reflections have a blend mode of multiply).
So why does the smart object not render the reflections properly (without lowering the opacity more within the smart object group) they appear almost at 100% in the new file. Any suggestions?

Anything to do with soft proofing? Does the new document have the same colour space as the original?
