Issue configuring DAD on HTTP Server within 10g App Server

This time with a sensible subject...
I am trying to configure the HTTP Server within 10g Application Server with a DAD pointing to an instance hosted on the same server. However whenever I apply the DAD settings and re-start the server I am told the DAD is down. I have tried many permutations of the connection string all without success. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem and can suggest a resolution. I am carrying out the same steps as I would for a 9i HTTP Server and can only think it is a difference for 10g App Server.

Reviewing the mod_plsql services page, it says 'Module Loaded No'. I have reviewed the httpd.conf and oracle_apache_conf files and both suggest that mod_plsql should be started but this is obviously not the case.

  • Installing and Configuring the Apache HTTP Server Plug-In

    Hi,
I am using WL10.3 in Linux machine.
I have an environment where I have a single WL server in a domain that is deployed with the web-application
And I have another domain where I have two managed servers in a cluster that is deployed with the business.
Now, I want to configure a Apache HTTP server to make it work as a proxy along with the weblogic.
In my current scenario, the stand alone server proxies the req to the cluster and that is defined in a jndi.properties.
Now, what should I do if I want to use the Apache
    I have the following questions:
    1. Forget about my env, generally how can I install and configure Apache HTTP plug-in?
I see we already having libproxy_61.so file inside /bea/wlserver_10.3/server/plugin/linux/i686
Do i need to install the patch even then as told in http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/security/wls-security/2793.html?
    2. While am adding the lines in httpd.conf ,
    LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl_22.so
Should I put ibproxy_61.so instead of mod_wl_22.so in this line?
    3. Just by configuring the proxy, the session replication and load balancing will be ensured?
4.And for my configuration as stated at the beginning few lines, what can be the best architecture?
    Your help is really appreciated.

  • Issues configuring a router print server

I have an ASUS RT-N13U router that I'm hoping to be able to print off of (printer - Canon i560).  I've set it up with a Windows computer and it works as expected, but I cannot get it to work on my Mac.  I can't seem to figure out what is going wrong.  In order to get it to work on my Windows computer, I used 192.168.1.1 and LPRServer and chose my specific printer (Canon i560), so I used the same parameters on my Mac.  I followed these steps: https://discussions.apple.com/message/8749886#8749886.
Once I set my printer up, I get the following message "Unable to verify the printer on your network.    It can not be currently determined if ‘192.168.1.1’ supports the Line Printer Daemon (protocol). Would you still like to create the queue?".  I choose to 'continue', but when I try to print the printer just says "The printer is busy."
I've been able to print off of USB for years, but I'd really like to be able to print wirelessly.
Your help is much appreciated, thank you!
    - redrainbows

LPD/LPR print queues often require a specific queue name. If this is not entered when creating the LPD queue on the Mac then you can get the "printer is busy" message.
Since you have the Windows computer working fine then I suggest you check the print queue on Windows for information on what queue name or protocol to use. This can be determined by opening the Properties pane for the printer and selecting the Ports tab. If you then select the Configure Ports tab this will show what protocol you are using. By default, Windows will default to RAW Port 9100, which is known as HP Jetdirect-Socket on the Mac. So if Windows is using this protocol for connecting via the Asus router then delete the current queue on the Mac and add it again, this time selecting HP Jetdirect-Socket for the protocol. If Windows is showing the queue has been configured using LPD, then it should also show what queue name has been used which you can the use to create a new LPD queue on the Mac.
One other note. The Canon Mac drivers cannot be used for some networked printer connections, such as when the printer is being shared by Windows or connected to a 3rd party print server. Instead you need to install and use the Gutenprint drivers. So you may need to look at using the Gutenprint i560 driver for your setup.

  • Configuring Standalone Oracle HTTP server (1.3) with  Mid tier (10.1.2)

    Hai All,
We have installed OHS 1.3 in DMZ and we have 10.1.2 midtier installed with B2B server in Firewall.
I have modified mod_oc4j.conf of standalone OHS with following content to route the requests to midtier
    Oc4jMount /b2b/* instance://ap6003idmz.oracle.com:AS_10gR2_MID:OC4J_B2B
I restarted OHS and I tried http://ap6001eip.oracle.com:7777/b2b/transportServlet on standalone OHS but no use then I removed above line and added below line
    Oc4jMount /b2b/* ajp13://ap6003idmz.us.oracle.com:12502
Restarted OHS abd tried above url but no use
b2b/transportServlet is a servlet deployed on midtier
What else do I need to route the requests from OHS to OC4J on midtier
    Any suggestions..?

  • How to configure Oracle HTTP server

Hi, I installed APEX 3.0 in Oracle 10.2.0.2 database. I installed HTTP server from Oracle 10.2.0 database companion CD. The problem is I am not sure which conf file I need to modify as in the installation document, it only shows steps for how to configure HTTP server 9.0.3/11g/Oracle Application Server 10g. Anybody knows where to get the right doc? Thanks.

    Hi,
Configure the Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) from the companion CD is the same for other OHS (apart from OHS 9.x where it uses wdbsvr.app).
So just follow the install guide from
4.4 About Configuring Oracle HTTP Server
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32472_01/doc/install.300/b32468/post_inst.htm#BHAGICFJ

  • Oracle database XE - Configure HTTP Server

    Goodmorning,
I've installed Oracle database 10g Express Edition ona linux server.
Now I can navigate with my browser to the url
         http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/apex
and this is ok to manage my db.
My problem is that I can navigate to the url
         http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/sys
and other subdirectories using my browser.
I want configure my Oracle HTTP server to allow navigation to APEX but prevent navigation to sys direcotries.
    I can't change configuration in
         APEX->Administration->Manage HTTP Access
setting "Available only from local server" becuse in this way I couldn't access to APEX too from my client workstation.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
the usual way would be to install an Apache http server in front of XE and configure it to be a proxy.
Using an Apache2 you would change the httpd.conf like this:
    LoadModule proxy_module modules/mod_proxy.so
    LoadModule proxy_connect_module modules/mod_proxy_connect.so
    LoadModule proxy_http_module modules/mod_proxy_http.so
      RewriteEngine On
      ProxyRequests Off
      SetEnv force-proxy-request-1.0 1
      SetEnv proxy-nokeepalive 1
      RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /(([^/]+)(/.*)*)$
      RewriteCond %2 =apex [OR]
      RewriteCond %2 =i [OR]
      RewriteCond %2 =public
RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://localhost:8080/%1 [P]Or you can search the XE-forum for 'proxy'.
If you cannot use an Apache for any reasons (but it is definitely recommended) then you might be able to change the acls for the xmldb folder SYS.

    Any pointers are highly appreciated.

    Shannon,
The OHS + Weblogic installation, just means you will have an admin server, with Enterprise Manager that can manage your OHS instances. That being said:
1 - You don't have to extend any domain, since the only thing OHS will need is an Admin Server with Enterprise Manager.
2 - I (myself, I don't speak for Oracle here) have a personal preference of having stand alone OHS. If you don't know how to work with httpd.conf and mod_wl.conf, I would suggest installing a separate domain only for it, that way you can keep the weblogic turned off, and turn it on only when you need to edit any configuration.
    Thanks

    -------------------- in a DOS Window ----------------
Syntax error on line 92 of c:/oracle/ora92/sqlplus/admin/isqlplus.conf:
FastCgiServer: redefinition of a previously defined FastCGI server "c:/oracle/ora92/bin/isqlplus"
Note the errors or messages above, and press <ESC> key to exit. ...
I tried reinstalling HTTP server but it did not help. I am not sure what is wrong and hot fix it. I think without HTTP server, I may not be able to run my "Process Flows".
    Please advise!
    TIA,
    Muhammad Amer

    Thanks Igor!
I understand that in order to run Process Flows from within OWB, I do not need HTTP server. But I want to be able to schedule the "Process Flows" and some of the documentation I have read suggests that I need to configure and run HTTP Server. I am not quite sure if OEM fits into this process, too?
Could you kindly let me know if I'd need to schedule the jobs through OWM or OWF Manager is enough?
Also, whether we can run non-OWB jobs using OWF - for example, a PL/SQL Package and/or a Unix script? If the answer is yes, what is required to accomplish this? My organization does not have a job-scheduling tool and I want to find out if OWF can do this for us.
Thank you once again and I look to hearing from you soon.
    Best regards,
    Amer

  • Error starting HTTP-Server: Cannot assign requested address: JVM_Bind

    Hi.
Anyone know how to configure the Oracle HTTP server within Jdeveloper9i to work?
When I try run a JSP page, I get the following error:
    C:\Oracle9iDS\jdk\bin\javaw.exe -ojvm -classpath C:\Oracle9iDS\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar com.evermind.server.OC4JServer -config C:\Oracle9iDS\jdev\system\oc4j-config\server.xml
    [Starting OC4J using the following ports: HTTP=8888, RMI=23891, JMS=9227.]
[waiting for the server to complete its initialization...]
Error starting HTTP-Server: Cannot assign requested address: JVM_Bind
    Oracle9iAS (9.0.2.0.0) Containers for J2EE initialized
Please contact me at [email protected]
    cheers paul

A JVM_Bind error means that the port is already in use. This is an unusual error message to get because JDev scans the ports ahead of time to make sure they are free before launching the server.
Check if you have any processes running that might be holding port 8888. There might be a previous instance of the OC4J server running that hasn't released port 8888 yet. On Windows, at a command prompt, you can use "netstat -a" to see local ports that are in use.

  • Existing http server

I am currently working on a contract where the management are very keen to use HTMLDB but they want to use their existing http server. It runs on another server to the Oracle server, which is running Oracle version 9.2.0.5.
I have downloaded the HowTo document on configuring the 9i Apache server for HTMLDB, but this is not really what I need.
Can anyone advise me on what I need to do to configure the existing http server, on the other machine, to work with HTMLDB and Oracle 9i. ?

    Tim,
those are really two separate things. It always helps a lot if you give us as much detail about your requirements as possible :).
    1) Using Oracle 9i on one server and the standalone
    http server on another.
(Do you know which server would require the
the install of HTMLDB)Well, you need to install HTML DB into the database, at least Oracle Version 9.2.0.3.
To access HTML DB, you need a pl/sql gateway. This can be either on the same machine as the database or on a different server.
You cannot run it on a standalone Apache server, you would have to use the Oracle Apache server that is installed with the 9i database or from the 10g / 10gR2 companion CD.
This one includes the pl/sql gateway (Apache module mod_plsql).
If you really need to use the standalone Apache server as the main entry point for your users you could still configure this one to be a proxy to your Oracle Apache on the database server or somewhere else.
    2) Using XE on a dedicated server.
(In this scenario, could you help with the http
    tp configuration using DBMS_EPG
for making the new application visible by others,
    s, ie. publishing the app.
This is very new to me ).Well, once you installed XE on a dedicated server it is fully functional out of the box. No further configuration is needed after the install (if you stay with the default ports). It is accessible from the network, no DBMS_EPG configuration needed.
As detailed in the previous post you could install XE on a dedicated server and use the standalone Apache server as a proxy to the XE server.
    Hope this helps,
    ~dietmar.
P.S.: I am not sure about the licensing implications if you separate the Http server from the database server.

  • HTTP Server Hangs on Long Running Process

    Hi,
We are having an issue with our production environment where long running processes i.e. > 5 mins will cause the client application to stop responding. We notice that this is only affecting forms which has no activity during the busy period i.e. forms which call a back end DB procedure or function and waits for a response from the DB to say that the process is done.
Checking on the process itself from the DB shows that the process has completed successfully but somehow there's no response back to the client to say that it's completed. As a result, the client will be in busy status forever.
We are sure that the issue originates from the HTTP server because when we by-pass the HTTP server i.e. send the request directly to the Apps server, this behaviour is not happening.
By thew way, we are running on Oracle Forms 11g using Weblogic.
Changes made so far but to no effect:
    maxBlockTime=1800000 (web.xml)
    keepAlive=Off (httpd.conf)
    Timeout=1800 (httpd.conf)
    FORMS_TIMEOUT=60 (formsweb.cfg)
    heartbeat=4 (formsweb.cfg)
    Session-Timeout=30 (web.xml)
Can this be related to network configuration? If yes, what are the things to look for?
    Thanks.

as the response came from the server your httpd service is not getting active for that you
need to keep the httpd service alive so that the response can be obeyed
    just try this
    keepAlive=On (httpd.conf)
    ..
