Issue due to Upgrade

Hi,
I have BB Curve 8310.. Last week i have upgraded the OS to 4.5 using Desktop Software.
I have restored the address book from backup..
But whenever i send sms to anybody i have been charged for international sms..
When contacted Vodafone customer care guys they said the mobile numbers are preceeded with '00' which indicates its a national sms... But in my mobile just the 10 digits mobile numbers are stored.. I dont know how automatically every number preceeded with '00'..
Looking for advise from experts...

[SOLVED] ATI (open source) Graphics Issue due to Upgrade

Shadowrun Returns finally loaded (after ages) but performance was abysmal whereas I was playing it with the same settings flawlessly yesterday. L4D2 was "laggy" while clicking in the interface and on the opening video, and then I got sound with a black screen and had to kill the process.

My card shouldn't be using the r600 driver (mine is a Radeon HD 5770) and it's quite possible those errors have always been there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have similar problem. I have removed steam-runtime libstdc++ libraries (I could not start game with them), but performance is very low. I use open source ati drivers (lib32-ati-dri also installed) and have Radeon 7770. Some time ago I could play Super Meat Boy with good performance, but now even intro is like 5 FPS which is obviously now what I expected. I am rather casual player so I can't say when (after which update as I presume) performance were redused. System is up-to-date.
I noticed that if I use AccelMethod "EXA" hardware acceleration do not work, with "GLAMOR" I have artefacts (e.g. with title bar and context menu) in KDE, but it run at normal SMB at normal speed. According to Arch Wiki there is a bug in X11 related to GLAMOR.

Mountain Lion Upgrade causing issues due to hard drive fault

I have a question about Mountain Lion crashing your hard drive. I upgraded my Macbook Pro 13' several weeks ago afer the release of Mountain Lion. The download took sometime before it completed it's download and completed without incident. Since that time I've had no issues with the softward update, my hard drive or computer.
However yesterday evening I went to use my computer and the screen after the Apple logo disappeared showed a circle w/a line thru it and turning gears just below it. After reading several forums and posts it seems that the computer cannot find a bootable disk to load up from. I do not understand this as I not changed the HD and the computer was working fine just the day before.
I tried to do a reinstall of the original OSX system (snow leopard) - it did download but after the computer re-started the system went back to the same screen w/the circle and line thru it. I then restarted computed hitting options to take me into the recovery / disk utility. From their I tried to verify and repair the HD - still same problem (circle w/line), I then just tried to reinstall Mountain Lion (same results).
WTH is going on - this was a perfectly good computer working fine & now I cannot get it to boot up or run at all? Could this be a software issue due to Mountain Lion or simply a bad HD? Any advice on how best to correct this issue would be appreciated. I use my laptop for dj'ing and have an upcoming gig in 2 weeks. HELP...

waited about a week
booted my system (at a new location)
Primary hard drive reapeared
Boots to system diagnostics
reinstalled Lion worked fine againupgraded to mountan lion again to test a theory
computer atempts to boot from the SSHD after instalation and fails
Boots to system diagnostics primary hard drive is invisable to the system
So its Back to Square one any thoughts coments or general advice?

Wondershare's iDraft for $2.99 will not update crashing issues due to 4.2!

Wondershare will not update their iDraft App, on the App Store, for compatibility issues due to iOS 4.2! iDraft costs $2.99, and should be pulled from the app store. An app should not be sold, until the issue is addressed. It's wrong, and I want to see some progress, instead of emails saying that we are heading in a different direction... Then return email back saying that we are now working on the issue, and I could get a discount on Wondershare apps...

Histograms issue During DB Upgrade.

We are currently migrated our database to Oracle 11g i.e 11.2.0.3 (from 10.2.0.3). Now we are facing application slowness on 11g, we found the issue is with missing histogram or some unnecessary histograms in place. Given below are my details.If anyone having such experience during migration please help.
When we were in 10g, we were having schemalevel gather stats job with 'METHOD_OPT' as 'AUTO' running each weekend and gathering onle STALE stats.And we had faced some performance issue due to optimizer following wrong path of execution due to some missing histograms and some extras too.So we had done skew ness(for each column in table in database) analysis on DB level using 'WIDTH_BUCKET' function manually on each column,and we deleted no of unnecesary histograms and created some on 10g DB. And updated the default schemalevel gather stats job with 'METHOD_OPT' as 'FOR ALL COLUMN SIZE REPEAT'. And we were getting stable enviroment.
Now we just migrated and its done by our techops(Oracle) team, i am confused how the histograms has been changed/modified for columns during migration, causing headache now. So now below are my plans and fears associated with them. Need advice on same.
1. If i will make the histograms exactly same in both the environments, i.e. will delete histograms which are present in new DB(11g) but were not in old DB(10g).and creating those which were there in old DB(10g) but now not in new DB(11g). My question is , will it be safe to do this or it may impact negatively with 11g optimizers features in place?
2. Or should i try easier option once by making 'METHOD_OPT' for the schema level stats job as 'AUTO' on 11g and try once, as because i believe 11g is more stable and optimizer is equipped with more intelligence in case of stats gathering using AUTO? Need experts advice on same.
3. Is there any other way to follow, in this scenario? Please advice.

If you're now in production you have a big problem. ANY change you make could make things worse.
If you haven't done it already I would get the plan that techops(Oracle) used to do the migration and compare it with the plan used to when you tested the upgrade to see if there are any differences or (possibly) any gaps. Given that you think the problem is the presence of an unexpected number of histograms, I would guess that the test plan DIDN'T say very much about stats gathering after the upgrade, and that somewhere there should have been a note to ensure that any conflicting data collection jobs in 11g should be modified, or disabled, to match what you were doing in 10g.
In the absence of hard information I would guess that either (a) the automatic overnight stats collection job has not been disabled in 11g, or (b) your weekend task had left a number of parameters in the dbms_stats calls to default and the defaults have changed in the upgrade.
Step 1: find out what has changed in the implementation
Step 2: revert to previous elimination and keep your fingers crossed
Step 3: (optional) - if the stats return to their previous state but you still have performance issues, a short-term fix may be to run with optimizer_features_enable set to its previous value).

Performance Issues after an Upgrade

We are experiencing performance issues after we upgraded to a new version of Hyperion (11.1.2.1). At this point, I am not too sure about the actual causes for this degrade in performance but I am trying to narrow down the causes and need your inputs. Please help me with your ideas.
1) What could be the causes/factors for the performance to degrade after an upgrade?
2) Does the performance of a script depend on the user credentials i.e. who is launching the script? Whether it’s the super admin of the application/application owner or an application specific admin?
3) Does the performance of the scripts depend on the place you are launching it from? For example - will the performance differ if it’s launched from MaxL Vs EAS?
Please let me know your thoughts on this.

There are a number of bugs 12600557, 12675485, 12669814, 12698488 logged in for 11.1.2.1 - If you use Internet Explorer 8 and have data forms designed to use a large number of sparse dimension members in rows or columns, you may experience performance degradation when opening the data forms.
This has been fixed in Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition Release 11.1.2.1 Patch Set Update (PSU): 11.1.2.1.101 which is available on My Oracle Support as Patch 12666861.

there are several oss-notes available which explain how to transfer your text customizing to the new procedure. This happens if you are uppgrading from a release 4.6c or lower. If you are already in 4.7, there should be no problem with text determination.

Acrobat Installation Issues due to Computer Switch

My surface bit the dust last week and I had to replace it. Downloaded acrobat successfully tot eh surface but then that apparently cut off access to the adobe pro on my home computer.
How do I get acrobat re-installed without the "you don't have a license" error message.

You may need to restart before installing Flash.

Public Sector: Will this have any issues during Siebel upgrade?

We are using Siebel Public Sector application (Case Management) in our product.
Every contact who is Primary under a Contact will be associated to a Master Case. If there is no master case associated with primary contact, siebel will create a new master case. In other words, Contact to Master Case is 1:1 relationship.
We are in the process of developing a new requirement where in a Contact can be linked to one or more Master Cases (1:M). Since this is deviates Siebel OOB feature we do not want to change it.
Instead, we have created a new custom stand-alone Table (which mimics OOB Master Case columns) and a "New Custom BC".
Created a link betwen Contact BC and New Custom BC (Id -> Par Row Id).
In "New Custom BC", field called "Master Case Number" has a dynamic picklist based on OOB "PUB Master Case" BC.
For other field we have mapped using pickmaps.
Our requirement is met but our only question is "Will this have any issues during Siebel upgrade?"

In doing some research, it seems there were some issues if you skipped an update but I did not find any information (only other queries) as to my original question of compatibility. Also, how can we access the older file if it won't open in 10.1.2?
Can I load 10.1.2 in addition to their older version to check and see what will or will not open correctly before I uninstall the older version? I don't want to load the new version and then have them not be able to access a needed file...

Performance issues after iOS4 upgrade

I had notices few issues after I upgraded my iPhone 3GS:
1- The screen is not rotating (when reading e-mails of flipping photoes).
2- The resolustion has decreased big time after the upgrade. Now the photos are shown in less resolution and they look hazy.
3- my Ipod is not working.
4- I could not restore my device via the itune.
my big question is there a real tangible benifit for this new upgrade?

When I upgraded from the iPhone 3GS to iPhone 5, I simply did a Backup of my phone using iTunes, plugged in the new iPhone 5 into my Mac, and did a Restore of that backup to put everything back. This procedure is documented around the web. Also, the new phone will ask you for your Apple ID and when you enter it, all your iCloud info will be downloaded to the phone. It worked pretty well for me.
