Issue enabling flash player in Safari

I was doing the FAQ steps to check that the flash player was enabled in Safari, but when I checked the browser preferences there was no box for "internet options: allow java".
Also, before this I tried to install the flash player, but after launching the installer there was a blank pop up, then a webpage saying it was unable to install

It's Version 7.0.5 (9537.77.4).
Thanks.

  • Issues with Flash Player and Safari 6

I downloaded and installed the latest Flash Player but it still tells me on youtube and anywhere else to install the Flash Player. I tryed it many times but I can't get it to work. Please help thanks.
    Safari 6.0.4
    Mountain Lion 10.8.3
    Flash Player Version 11.7.700.169

    Quit and re-launch Safari.
    Safari > Preferences > Security
    Web content:
    Allow all other plug-ins
Check the box next to it to enable plug-ins.

  • Safari will not enable Flash Player.

I have installed, uninstalled, rebooted, checked forums, and followed all the instructions. I have a Mac operating OS X Mavericks and cannot use Adobe Flash Player. When I select Safari>Preferences>Security, There is no option for me to select "allow all other plug-ins" I have JavaScript enabled but there is no check box to enable Flash Player. I would very much like to access YouTube on my new Macbook Pro. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dom

Dom, the Preferences>security appears different between versions.
Safari 7 (Mavericks) or Safari 6 (Mt. Lion)
    Safari 5 (Snow Leopard)
Check your System Preferences to be sure it's installed.

  • Flash player for safari won't download

Flash Player for Safari 7.04 won't download. It's not an antivirus issue because it's turned off, everything is enabled.

    Chris,
My problem was that while the installer downloaded, the installation process always crapped out and gave me this error message: "Error: Unable to proceed with the installation". Tried everything and none of it worked. I COULD download v12 of Flash, but noticed that it used a different style of installer that has a simpler, "chunkier" progress bar and overall look, and doesn't ask about whether Flash should check for updates automatically until AFTER the install was done (different from the standard v14 installer, which has a skinnier progress bar and prompts you about auto updates before most of the installation happens).
Just saw your post, downloaded the installer from the macromedia link you provided, and it installed fine! Superfast. Done and done.
In doing so, however, I noticed that the alt version of the v14 Flash installer from your link also has the same simpler, chunkier type of installer as v12. is there a know problem with the standard (skinny progress bar) version of the installer and Mavericks? This has happened before, and I'm now just realizing that the installs only ever work with the "alt" style of installer.
    a) Is Adobe aware of this problem? are they working to make a fix so that i don't have to pull my hair out everytime there's a new security update for Flash?
    b) Would you please consider posting your solution in a more obvious place? I'm betting there are a lot of other Mac users having this issue, but because Adobe help can be sort of a byzantine mess (not you, obviously, but the system itself) I'm betting there are a ton of Mac users that are just giving up, like I almost did. Making this issue known, and positing the alt download will save many people many hours of grief.
    Thanks for posting your solution!
    Cheers,
    M
FYI: I'm on a MacBook Pro with Retina (original) running 10.9.3. I have a 750 GB SSD hard drive, 16 GB of RAM, and a 2.7 GHz Core i7 processor.

  • Issues Installing Flash Player

I am having issues installing Flash Player 12 on IE11 running on Windows 7.  Flash is enabled and it still doesn't work.  Any suugestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer

If you’re having problems viewing Flash content on the Web using Internet Explorer 9 or higher, even though you’re sure Flash Player is installed, it may be because the Flash Player Add-on has been disabled (turned off) in your browser settings.
To enable Flash Player, please follow the steps outlined below:
Please click here for an HTML5 version of this video: YouTube HTML5 HD Link
Launch Internet Explorer and navigate to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
If you see an animation playing, then Flash Player is enabled.
If you don’t see an animation playing, then Flash Player is not enabled. In that case, click on the Tools icon in the top right corner of Internet Explorer. (The icon looks like a cogwheel.)
In the drop-down menu which appears, click Manage Add-Ons.
In the dialog which appears, select Toolbars and Extensions.
In the list of Add-ons, look for “Shockwave Flash Object” – which is another name for Flash Player.
In the Status column, check to see whether Shockwave Flash Object is Disabled. If it is, click the row for Shockwave Flash Object to highlight it.
In the bottom right corner of the Manage Add-ons dialog, click the Enable button.
    Close the Manage Add-ons dialog.
Click Refresh to reload the webpage. If you see the animation playing this time, then Flash Player has been successfully enabled.
If you continue to encounter problems viewing Flash content after completing these steps, please see our FAQ on ActiveX filtering.

Me too. Thanks a million, Chris. Without you, I would go crazy pulling my hair off.
I tried everything I possible could, you name it, I did it, but I was kept advised to download
and install the latest flash version. The next step I would try to uninstall IE9 and re-install IE8,
because I did not have such an issue when I was using IE8. If this fails, I would even try to
buy a new computer. Finally, I came across this forum and find your answer.
I follow your instructions, and finally I DID IT. I can see all videos now.
Many many thanks to you Chris. You save me a lot of work and money.

  • Can't Install Flash Player on Safari OS 10.3.9

Hi. I recently reinstalled my system software on my iBook G3,
and I've been trying to install the latest Flash Player for Safari
1.3.2 running on OS 10.3.9. Non Intel. I have tried downloading and
installing quite a few times. But no plug in is showing up in my
Installed Plug In window, and it's definitely not installed. I
tried running the uninstaller and reinstalling but I'm getting
nowhere. Can anyone help? Is there something missing from my system
that I might have missed when doing a reinstall of my OS a few days
    ago?

Thanks Melophage for the help! After consulting apple care (for the 2nd time), we were able to resolve the issue without going to adobe tech support as a last resort. I used the uninstaller to be sure all adobe components were removed from my mac. Then, we reinstalled the OS (without erasing). Don't know why the installer was hanging on me, but the fresh reinstall did the trick and solved the problem.
I appreciate your insight again! Take care!

  • Enable Flash Player in Mozilla Fire Fox without Admin Rights

    Hi,
I am from australia i have a question how do i enable flash player in my system without admin rights. at present there is no access to install software to my system. please help thanks in advance
    Regards
    John Burns

    Hi John,
Admin rights are required for installing Flash Player because it installs to a system-wide location which requires elevated permissions to write to.  Due to this, there is no way to install Flash Player without having Admin rights.   Since it writes to a system-wide location, any user on the machine with Admin rights can install Flash Player.

  • Problems installing or running Adobe Flash Player for safari

problems installing or running Adobe® Flash® Player for safari when trying to install Adobe Flash Player.pkg it asks to quit Dash Board client then brings up Exclamation mark up and quits install ??????

Adobe Flash is pretty much a 32-bit application. You may be able to fix the problem by going into your Applications folder, and right-clicking on Safari. There is a check box that will allow you to run Safari in 32-bit mode. Try that and see if Flash works in Safari.
I have retired my iMac, and have an HP now, but a friend helped me with the same problem when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. My PC seems to have just one 64-bit browser, that being Internet Explorer. I am using IE9 Beta in 64-bit, and the Beta for Flash "Square" in 64-bit seems to work fine. See link below:

  • Problem updating Adobe Flash Player with Safari

    Hello!
I'm trying to update Adobe Flash Player using Safari on a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.10.1 but every time I download the update the file looks like this:
and when I try to start the installation this window appears:
I tried several different download links but non of them worked. I also uninstalled the Adobe Flash Player and tried to reinstall it but then I have the same problem. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thank you!

For some reason that I have yet to determine, people with Matlab installed start getting .mdlp extensions appended to their downloaded files.  That's what happened here.  Rename the file to remove .mdlp (so that it ends in .dmg), then double-click the file and it should work.

  • Flash Player for Safari

I know doesn't like it, but I was forced to install Flash Player in Safari in order to be able to read the eedition of the newspaper. I also had to reactivate Java. Yet, the paper still will not download even though those installations were successful. Even though I can do it in Firefox without a problem. When I click on the link I am sent each day, I get the box that the paper should appear in, but the word FLASH in the middle of the box where the paper should be.
I have been doing this successfully for a long time with Lion, but I'm guessing maybe an update to Safari has created a problem. I don't know but would love to get this resolved if anyone has any suggestions.

Doubtful that the paper uses Java, but it almost certainly uses Javascript (which confusingly is something completely different).
Make sure Javascript is activated, but not Java.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFl ash
You can check here what version of Flash player you actually have installed:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

  • Has any one heard if apple will start to support Flash player for Safari

There are a few web sites I like to visit but they require flash player and Safari does not support it on my iTouch.  does anybody know a work around or have you heard if Apple will start supporting it?

Considering Apple owns about 75% of the "pad" space I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for them to disappear.
To further illustrate your ignorance, it is Adobe who has given up on Flash, not Apple.  If you did any sort of research you would quickly find out why there is no Flash in iDevices.
If there's any pride swallowing called for, I believe it would be yours.
