Issue getting FTP server to work when firewall is turned ON.

I have FTP server setup on a file server for users in a remote office to quickly download large files over the VPN between the offices. It works fine.
I have setup FTP on a different server in a 3rd remote office in order to download some large files. It will not work unless I turn off the firewall for the Domain network settings. In the firewall under "Allow a program or feature"
FTP Server is listed and is checked under Domain, Home, and Public. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Can someone help me figure this one out? thanks

It is clear now that it is a firewall problem.
If this is a Windows Firewall then you can give a try to this: http://www.maxpcsecure.com/support/spywaredetector/allow_FTP_Port.htm
If this is not a Windows Firewall then you need to check with the vendor / developer support for assistance.

Yes definitely make sure you're not covering the mic, its at the bottom of the phone on the left next to the 30 pin, but if thats not the problem and you're still under warranty then definitely take it back to apple because it's probably a hardware issue and theyll gladly replace or fix it for you.

Can't get Lion Server to work

As written above. I can't get Lion server to work.
I have succesfully installed the program, and turn on some of the services. Then I have bought a domain, to connect to my server. But if I try to connect to my IP, from another computer, it doesn't connect. I have tried to "port forwarding" port 80 on my router, and given my Mac a static IP. I have checked with a "Check port opener" if the port 80 was in reach, it was.
So my question is, what is the next I can do to make it work. First with the IP and then with my domain?

Yes, SMTP used to work but stopped after new cert applied. IMAP works fine. Removed SSL and still doesn't work (although should it be restarted or is save for changes okay).

hello, I have a HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One Printer - C309a, Im having issues getting my software to work properly... Im trying to print onto a printable cd and the photo that I am using will not import. I have called HP customer service and they tried for hours to correct the problem but still nothing! I was told by your agent that I would have to pay an outside company to have the problem fixed! That is not fair considering that I just bought your product on the 3rd of April! The software that i am using is HP Photo Smart Essential 3.5 and my OS is Windows 7, 64 bit home version. The pic that I am using I can see it on my Library but it wont import... plzz help

Sorry for the triple post, but I may have an idea on what you are experiencing.
Since Windows 7 "Library" appears to be a collection of different locations, I do not think there is a way to point PSE 3.5 to the "Library". You will need to locate the folder where the actual photos are stored to import them.
It might be easier to add the individual folders the Windows 7 Library includes. To find out what folders are included, go into your Windows 7 Photo Library and select the link for Includes: X locations.
Afterwards you will get a list of all folders that are linked to the library. In order to include all of these locations on PSE 3.5, you will have to add each of the folders with the Import feature from PSE.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

Another thing to remember is the phone is actually usable for 911 calls and maybe others. Not a real good idea. Especially for a child.
It would depend however on the age of the child.

Cannot connect to FTP when firewall is turned on

I connect to my FTP server routinely so I ticked the FTP access under 'services' so that FTP is allowed under the firewall. However, when I try to access my FTP using Dreamweaver, browser or FTP software like Transit or CuteFTP with the firewall turned on, I cannot access the site. When the firewall is turned off, I can access just fine.
I use the "passive" "use firewall" and any other option available within the software in an attempt to access the FTP. I even tried with the PASV box checked and unchecked under 'proxies' in the network properties.
Is there some setting I am forgetting? How can I access my FTP with the firewall turned on?

Hi, I'm dealing with this in another thread. I'll let you know if I come up with an answer. Bottom line is, even if you use passive mode to ftp to a server which does not accept it, you will be in active mode. That means the server will try to open a socket to you on some other port, either random or one more than the port used for the connection socket. Your firewall will block this new connection.
There are a series of rules for the firewall. If I can get it to accept connections from port 20 (not to, but from) then active ftp will work. But there seems to be no way to do this from OSX. There is a unix way, but then the kernel memory doesn't match the preferences file and OSX throws the equivalent of a hissy fit. There may be no way around it, but I'm looking into it.

I have a button with an action of "Execute JavaScript" and can't event get a simple alert("hello"); to work when published as SWF. I've tried publishing it with each of the different Flash Player versions. JavaScript works fine when published as HTML5.

@Erickj: Either do what Rod stated (adjusting your Flash Security settings) or test your content from a true web server. Flash automatically trusts content coming off a true web server where the web address begins with http or https and ends in .htm or .html.
The nice thing about Cp 7 is that it has a built-in web server so you don't run into issues like this when testing your content.

EA6300 Cannot get web server to work

I have a Linksys AE6300 router.
I have a webserver set up with IIS to use port 780 for an HTTP site.
It works when I use the internal IP http://192.168.1.150:780
But, not when I use the external one.
This is a new router so, I never had this working on this particular router before. (but, my old router worked fine - was able to view website using external IP).
I tried using both the Single and Port Range forwarding. (My old router used port range).
Here is my Single Port forwarding setup...
And my Basic Firewall settings
I also re-booted the router. But, still cannot view website. (unavailable).
What more should I be doing? Or what am I doing wrong?

And noticed that port 80 is closed. (as apposed to 'Timeout (Blocked)'

Can't get fade option to work when stroking a path!

For some reason I can't get the fade option to work when I stroke a path for line work in Photoshop CS 6. I'm using a wacom intuos 5 pro. I set my brush settings to fade and whenever i push stroke path with simulated pressure checked it does the thin to thick to thin line instead of a normal line that fades off.... anyone have a clue why? it seems to jump back to pen pressure no matter what I do......I went as far as uninstalling and reinstalling my walcom drivers and my copy of Photoshop.....I'm new to doing line work this way but like the consistency I see colleagues work!

FTP server was down when XI was sending messages

Hi guys,
I have the following problem:
Yesterday the FTP server of a legacy system was down while some interfaces were running in XI and were producing some files that should be written in target ftp server. In communication channel monitoring I get the following error:
"Error occurred while connecting to the FTP server "120.2.6.133:21": java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect"
Is there a way to retrieve these messages somehow without having to run the intrfaces again from source system??

Just goto...Runtime workbench..
Select the message monitoring there...
then provide the filters like sender business system and receiver business system...then select the start/end date...may be last 7 days/yesterday...
Then select the status as " ALL CONTAINING ERRORS"...you will see all you messages there select and click on resend...You can even reprocess all the messages at the sam time...Just click on "multiple selection" ON and say select all..
Thats it..

I downloaded firefox in order to do some online training that I couldn't open in any other browser. I can't get the volume to work in this browser. I can use internet explorer and the volume works. But I can only do the training through firefox.

You can adjust the volume level for each application in that window, so make sure that Firefox is not muted or set at a low level.<br />
Current Firefox versions use the plugin-container process to run plugins, so you need to check the volume setting for the plugin-container process.<br />
You will only see the Firefox program or the Plugin Container in the Mixer if you are on a website that plays sound.<br />

DHCP not work if FIREWALL is turned on

I recently upgraded to 10.4.7 from 10.3.9 Server and DHCP wasn't working..
after reading several threads I tried deleting private/var/db/dhcpd_leases file to see if that would fix the problem it didn't.
I then tried turning firewall settings to allow all Traffic this also didn't work
the only thing that worked is if I turned off Firewall Services
Any Ideas???

I've had the same problem 3 new server installs over the past week.
The only way I've found to get round it is to add the following firewall rules in addition to allowing any connections on the internal IP.
Action Allow
Protocol TCP
Source
Address any
Destination
Address Other
Interface Other any via en1
& the same for UDP.
I have no idea why this fixed it as it woul seem to duplicate the rules for the any / internal subnet.
