Issue going online even though ip address is correct
Hi, I recently bought a 13" macbook pro and I am having issues connecting online.
My other PCs that I use are able to connect with my Belkin router via Wifi, but my MBP cannot.
On the MBP I get a valid ip while I connect via Wifi: 192.168.2.3
It finds the correct gateway address: 192.168.2.1
DNS is not an issue (the DNS changer trojan is not present)
When I connect via Ethernet, the internet is working great. I even used Network Utility to ping (using the WiFi interface) and it can ping www.yahoo.com
But when I remove the Ethernet cable, the internet will not work.
Anyone have any ideas?

Some basic questions:
- Is your AirPort circuitry turned on?
- Do you see your local WiFi network under the AirPort menu item?
- If so, have you tried to connect to it?
- When you open System Preferences and select the Network pane, is "AirPort" in the list of interfaces?
- When you select AirPort in the interface list, what do you see on the right side of that pane?

Maps goes online even though it's set not to
I noticed that whenever I open Maps on my N85, a data transfer occurs, which can be seen from the 3G icon turning into the 3.5G icon with the arrows underneath, as well as from the "Mobile Internet" Log entry created afterwards.
Why this is strange is because I have set Maps to never go online, AND I have unchecked the A-GPS method of positioning from Settings|Positioning|Positioning methods. I would have thought, therefore, that Maps will not go online when it starts - which it does. This is particularly inconvenient because I am currently abroad (i.e. mobile data transfers are expensive) and using the GPS quite often; the data transfers have summed up to a few hundred KB already, and I'd rather they did not continue this way. Can anyone help?

Go to Solution.In addition to unchecking AGPS in positioning methods, you have to go to Positioning Server -> Positioning Server Use and set that to "Disabled" (this is where you normally specify what AGPS server to use). Otherwise it will, for some strange reason, still try to use the AGPS server.
See there's this thing called "software testing" that Nokia doesn't really believe in.

I somehow seem to have changed the Apple id password on my iPad and don't know what it is. When I try to reset it, I'm given the option of having Apple get in touch with me by email. I click on this choice and Apple says the email has been sent - but I never receive it, even though the address is valid. The other option is to answer two questions preceded by entering my birthdate. I know the answers to the questions, but must have entered my birthdate incorrectly when I set up the account. To make a long story short, I can't sign in to iCloud on the iPad and can't figure a way out of this dilemma.
Your password was sent to your emergency email address. Perhaps you have an email you never use? I use the free email from my cable TV account as my emergency email.
Your Apple account and cloud account are separate. You could even have completely different user and password. Most of us use the same user ID and password, but they are not the same thing, don't mix them up.
If you can't retrieve emergency email, you will have to call apple support.

Im having real problems connecting to my home wifi from my i phone 4s, it just keeps saying unable to join even though the password is correct,
I have tried resetting my network settings but to no avail,
yesterday I reset all settings then it actually worked, however today the problem started again so I repeated the reset but it still isn't working

Shutdown all computers connected to the router.
Power off the router.
Power off the modem (cable or DSL).
Wait 30 seconds.
Power on the modem. Ensure all lights are lit and the modem is online.
Power on the router. Ensure it's communicating to the modem.
Turn on your Macbook Pro first (the one experiencing the issue. Check it's connection. If it's still having issues, removed the networks it can attach to, turn off WiFi; then turn WiFi back on and reconnect to your WiFi network.
Turn on other Macs in household. Check their connections.
Sometimes "rebooting" the modem and router fixes connectivity issues. -
When I got my ipod I made an account with iTunes right from my ipod.Yesterday, I made a password lock to get into my ipod and I couldn't get into it even though I did the correct one. Now it says"connect to iTunes" BUT I can't because I never registered on the computer. I've tried holding the home and sleep/wake button for 10 sec and then only the home for 5sec and that might have reset it, but it didn't help. If any of you guys know what to do so I can unlock it I would appreciate it VERY much.

The display on my monitor is too large (can't fit the whole screen on my monitor) even though the resolution is correct. Suggestions?
Sounds like it may just be enlarged. Have you tried holding down the <ctrl> key and moving the mouse up and down, or scrolling your finger up and down if you have a magic pad.

my ipad wont accept any passwords, i am unable to connect to my wifi even though my password is correct and other laptops etc have no problem connecting.
The ipad can find my wifi connection but just wont accept the password. connected with no problem in the Apple store.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I have Lion on my IMac and it is hooked up to I Cloud, however, even though all settings are correct I am not getting auto sync of calendars to my I Mac from my IPHone 4S or my iPad 1. Neither am I getting Photfrom my IPhone to my I Mac?
Can someone set me straight?Check system preferences to make sure you have iCal and your photostream checkmarked to TRUE.

Also, make sure the calendar in iCal you're using/looking at is not "On My Mac", but actually an iCloud one. -
My ipod stills pauses when the display turns off, even though, my headphones are correctly attached (or flushed)
Does this happen still when you use another set of headphones? Have you check to make sure the headphone jack is clean and clear of debris? If so, the jack may be faulty or damaged meaning you'll need to take or send your iPod in for service/repair.

BPM Issue: Active messages even though process has completed
Hi,
I have defined a BPM that receives an invoice xml message. If the invoice total is <= $500.00, the invoice is automatically submitted for posting in SAP (RFC Adapter).
If the invoice amount > 500 and approval request is send off and the process waits for the approval xml message to arrive (a receive step in the BPM)
Based on the approval status, the invoice is either posted or the process is cancelled (Using a correlation ID to ensure that correct invoice is approved or rejected)
To cancel the process, I have included a 'Control Step' with action = 'Cancel Process'.
My issue is that even thought my bpm completes successfully (verifiedby message status in sxmb_moni) there are still active work items in transaction swwl.
Can anyone offer assistance as to why I still have active work items even though the BPM has completed successfully.

YackeenSending SIGKILL (kill -9 pid) to a process never gives it a chance to "clean up" before it terminates. Sending SIGTERM (kill pid) is better in most circumstances, unless the process is completely unresponsive. A properly coded program will quit gracefully upon receiving it.

When I search for a web sites, it gives a list of connected web site.
If I click a particular web site, it immediately opens a blank page and says"done" at the bottom of the page. The opened web address is wrong even though the link property shows the correct address.
What is wrong?

I a running Vista 64 bit on a HP touchsmart relatively new computer. I have been using Firefox 3 and have had nothing but troubles since I downloaded 4. Finally got that to work and now that I have downloaded 5 sometimes it works perfectly and sometimes when I open it seems to load up another version and nothing appears in the screen area even though it says in the address bar it is at the home screen (or any other site I go to). If I completely close out Firefox and my AT&T communication Manager dial up modem and then reopen it will sometimes then open the proper version perfectly - any thoughts??
Well since you asked, On my old system which I am still using, I experience
the blank frame on a regular basis but usually only when I have about 20 or more instances open with more then 850 meg of memory in use by firefox 25.0.1, also it tends to crash when I approach a gig in memory usage. I never complained about that since that system is an older dual core that was in place upgraded from vista to win7 pro so it is a special case that may not be good for evaluation. I plan to move to the Lenovo as soon as I am confident it is stable then I will rack it out with similar usage
and report any meaningful information.

Ovi Maps 3.03 keeps going online even when told no...
So I've just downloaded the new free Ovi Maps for my 5800 and it's pretty nice, except for one thing: even when I set the conection to offline it still connects to the Internet every time the app is started (which, even though the app is fullscreen is visible when, for example you go into the settings screen). It seems though that after a minute or so it disconnects, but still, the old Maps app asked on startup whether to connect, this one just does without asking every time it's started... Am I missing some hidden setting?

As it can take a while to establish position using "Integrated GPS" positional method, "Network GPS" can give approximate position based on cell tower triangulation and "Assisted GPS" can carry out numerical calculations much faster on remote server than using device resources.
In some countries just downloading regional maps such as UK is sufficient for "Search" in OVI Maps application in "Offline" mode to locate to postcode level, whereas in larger countries OVI Maps needs to be "Online" to produce this result.
As you have posted on the end off a thread headed "OVI Maps v3.03" unless you are using E71 I would be surprised if later version is not availble for your device from here:
