Issue in 11.1.2 Essbase configuration on Linux 5.5 64Bit - Config hangs
Hi Experts,
I am trying to do a fresh install and configure of EPM 11.1.2 in a distributed environment:
1. Oracle database version 11.20as repository on Linux server 1(linux 5.5, 64 bit) installed and working fine.
2. I installed and configured HSS on a Windows 2008 server SP1 64 bit - configured following: common settings, database,OCM,deploy to Application Server - Success. and I am able to open the HSS front end and check users,groups etc.
Now, I installed Essbase server,EAS server,ES server,EIS server on Linux server 2(5.5,64 bit).
The Problem is: When I am configuring Linux server 2(All the above mentioned Essbase components) -
Configurator asks for "Previously configured SS database"- I provide the details
next -> it asks for ES,EAS database schema -> I provide the details
next -> asks for weblogic domain information -> 2 options there -> I choose- > Deploy to an existing domain -> All the required info was already there(Windows server above)
BUT, when I click "next" -> the screen just Hangs and does not go anywhere. I waited for 1 hr and nothing happened.
So, I cancelled it and started the config again, but again the same issue.
the message on the linux server console are:
"HBR Configuration has not been initialized. Make sure you have logged in sucessfully and there are no exceptions in the HBR log file.
ConfigurationManager not available"
and No logs are generated under /oracle/Middleware/user_projects/epmsystem1/diagnostics/logs/config
any help on this will be greatly appreciated!!

Can we even have the following landscape?
1. HSS,OHS,Weblogic server,workspace - On a Windows 2008 server
2. Essbase server,EIS server,EAS server,EIS server - on a Linux server
3. Oracle database on another linux server.
my questions is, can we have the installation and configuration done considering the OS (wid and Linux), as described in points 1&2 above.
I guess I read somewhere, that all the web applications can be deployed to either all windows or to all Linux OS servers? - Is it correct?

i have recycled all services and pinged from one server to another server every thing is working fine. but am getting above error.

I want to know what exactly does netRetryCount & netRetryInterval do?
Moreover i checked my essbase configuration file the current setting for the two are as follows:
NetDelay: 5000
NetRetryCount: 8000
Can we increase on these setting any more? If yes what would be the impact on system performance by increaing the same.

If oyu bump them up, I don't think it will hurt much, you will just wait longer before getting the error. between the two with your configuration, I would increase Netretrycount and not the delay. Interestingly, these are about the only two settings that can be used in a client config file. The others all have to be on the server(these can be done on the server as well). I'm not sure if the client settings would affect smartview or just the classic addin.

Essbase component is not showing up in config utility after FR Config

I have succesfully installed and confgiured essbase on 11.1.2.2 version. My OS is AX 6.1 OS and DB is db2 9.7. Today when I installed and configured FR which was successfull. During the web server config I noticed that in my config utilty I only see Foundation and Reporting and Analysis LISTED..The essbase was missing. Essbase should be there with EAS, APS config info but the whole essbase component is missing. I stopped and restarted essbase from the scripts it worked fine..all the components are running as expected but not sure why Essbase is missing.
Can any one think of something??

After cloning EBS 11.5.10.2 with 10.2.0.4 DB single instance, When I use system administrator responsibility and lunch any form e.g. Concurrent Manager : Administrator, the form is coming blank and the responsibility tree/menu is missing. But from the Form menu --> File --> Switch Responsibility, I am able to select the responsibility tree. I have recompiled all the forms, menu, pl/sql lib, Generated Jar, flexfields using adadmin, recompiled apps schema using adadmin but no luck.Can you reproduce the issue from other clients/browsers?

I am trying to create a web application that uses AD LDS as its authentication provider. I have followed all the steps and verified all the web.config files, but I receive the error below:
Cannot get Membership Provider with name CustomRoleProvider. The membership provider for this process was not properly configured. You must configure the membership provider in the .config file for every SharePoint process.
Has anyone come across this error before?There seems to be some issues in your web.config files. Please make sure your Web application entries for membership and role provider(at central admin site) are matching with Web.config entries. your error

", indicating that you may have used role provider name in Membership provider text box or in web.config.
Also please make sure that you have correct entries in all 3 web.config files - Central Administration , Security Token Service (STS), Web application .

SAP Router configuration on Linux platform (error in start script)

I´m trying to setup the saprouter on Fedora v14 (32 bits).
I did all the configure with root user. The problem is when I run the script that starts the saprouter service, it show me the following error:

1- In my previous message I mentioned an error when I ran directly the command # saprouter -r... and as you recomend, I typed the "ldd saprouter", the output of this show that libstdc+.so.5: was not found! I already solve this issue, I installed the compat-libstdc+ with # yum install compat-libstdc++. So... now when I run that "ldd saprouter" the result is:

Telstra APN Configuration for ZTE Blades S6 (manual config)
Hi, Just bought an unlocked STE Blades S6 from a big Aussie electronic retailer. Issue. I can not connect to internet using my Telstra SIM card. I have tried using another operator's SIM card, and the internet worked. Based on this, I concluded that the issue is not a device/phone problem. I guess it must be related to APN config. Have contacted the support, and also looked at the proposed APN configuration from internet. None works at the moment. I also tried using the automatic configuration from www.configure.telstra.com.au but the config import just failed for an unknown security reason. Please advise/assist. Greatly appreciate your helps. i've downloaded and extracted all files on edelivery.oracle.com sections Oracle EPM (11.1.2.0.0) Media Pack for Linux x86-64.
1st symptoms : i've installed it all, at the first attempt, Oracle HTTP Server always failed to install. But on the 2nd try it succeeded (install only oracle http server), so i assumed all part already installed well.
2nd symptoms : after installation, there is config button on the GUI, but after i click it, it only closed the GUI, and nothing happen. So i running configtool.sh from config directories. and it show the error.
For user account, already have full access to relevant directories.
I checked on every logs folder on hyperion home, there is no related logs for this installation. any idea where the install log is?
I can't find "oracle_common" folder, i think this is the root cause, because the error logs referring to jar files from this folder

Installing Essbase Server on Linux, Other essbase components on windows.
Hello all,
We are planning to upgrade from 11.1.1.4 to 11.1.2.2. We have just the essbase server installed on linux and other essbase components like Essbase Administration Services, essbase integration services, provider services installed on Windows. My question is how do I go about gathering files to install just the Essbase Server on Linux and other Components on Windows. I have gone through the Media Pack doc for Windows 2008 64(on which we plan to install the other essbase components). In that if I click on the files needed for essbase(listed as essbase plus) it gives me all the files needed to install essbase components.Which means(correct me if am wrong) on a server where am planning to install just essbase components like Provider services, Essbase Admin Services and provider services it gives me the files needed for Essbase server as well, which I donot need. So how do I go about accomplishing this. Or are there any other ways to achieve what am trying to do.

Ted.Awesome, thats what I thought, so in that case, if I want to install Essbase server on Linux, I have to download the essbase files for linux and select only the essbase server while installing, and if I want to install essbase components on windows, I have to download the same set of files but for Windows OS and select to install only the essbase components that I need. Is that right?

Configuring oracle9i linux client
Im having problems configuring my oracle 9i linux client.
I have successfully installed Oracle 9.2.0.1 Administrator client. I entered the net manager and added a Service name to my oracle server, I test the connection and it works. Then I try to open oemmap console and login on my server, again it works fine. But when I try to connect directly using sqlplus it simply says:
ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist.

I tried to configure manually an ODBC connection and got an ORA-12254 about the TNS listener not resolving etc.If that was ORA-12154, message is likely saying that either you entered a non-existing connect identifier or your tnsnames.ora is missing/not working.
An alternative would be to use the Easy Connect method, e.g. sqlplus 'user_name/password'@hostname/dbservicename to do without tnsnames.ora configuration. So, in the ODBC config dialogue that's hostname/dbservicename.
I wrote in the TNS service name bise1db.NGNENG-SERVER2 and I got the 12254. Where is bise1db.ngneng-server2 defined and what does it resolve to? Try entering "ngneng-server2/bise1db" or "192.168.0.27/bise1db" instead. -
