Issue in Asset Explorer

Hi
I have a issue in which i have acquired an asset on 15.6.2006.. and assigned a depreciation key to calculate the dep @ 4.75% SLM basis. The system is not displaying the values from 2008 onwards but is not showing the values in 2006 and 2007. The useful life of asset is 5 years. However, when i use t code AFAR in test mode the system displays the planned values for 2006 and 2006 correctly. Pls suggest as to why the system is not displaying the values for 2006 and 2007 correctly. For similar assets in the same asset class under same company code usign same depreciation key and for same tenure and acquistion date but different acq value the system is displaying the data for 2006 and 2007 correctly. Pls suggest what could be the reason
Regards
Sanil Bhandari

Hi
The asset in question has been posted with acquisition value of INR 48099.00. Secondly the system is showing the planned depreciation in Tcode AFAR for depreciation recalculation for 2006 and 2007. However, the same vales are not reflected in asset explorer for years 2006 and 2007. The remaining years, the values are getting displayed. Other assets using the same depreciation key are showing correct values and values are reflecting the values for 2006 and 2007. I tried searching if SAP has some note for this particular scenario but could not find one. Pls suggest

  • Asset explorer- Asset not posted to APC transactions

    Hello,
In AW01, asset explorer screen,  in the planned values display tab , an asset has directly been posted from MM as goods issue.
However the Amount say Rs.10000 and its ordinary depreciation say 500 is not getting added to the APC transactions in the above tab of plannned values book depreciation.
So the APC transactions amount say 50000 and its corresponding planned depr say 2000 is excluding the previous mentioned asset values capitalised (Rs.10000 and Rs.500)
As a result the related asset reporting shows incorrect asset balances.
I would like to know why the asset already capitalised does not get reflected in the total value of the APC transactions ?
    Pls help.
    Regards.

    Hi,
are you sure that the asset was posted from MM as goods issue? Not goods receipt from PO? Did you make the asset, or did you buy the asset?
OK, if you bought the asset, here is a suggestion you might want to look into.
Have the invoice verification been done to the PO? Usually, the APC value will be posted when there is a posting to the FI for the asset. And the ordinary depreciation will not be posted automatically. For Rs 500 depreciation, you need to do write-ups to adjust your asset balance.
    Hope this helps.

  • HP ENVY H8 Series Issues w/ Drives & Explorer, and Windows

    Hello all,
I purchased the computer brand new, and have had intermediant problems throughout its life. The wi-fi card in this computer is garbage (it is now hard-wired, being the only true solution) and the Windows installation seemed a bit buggy, but I let that slide since it may have been Microsoft's fault. (it has improved w/ updates)
My major issues I keep constantly notice after years of installing updates is that my taskbar will disappear and windows explorer will restart at random. Additionally, I have multiple media drive ports on the front (CF, SD, xD, Pro Duo, etc) and it has been giving me issues with reading SD cards. Before my SD card is blamed, I have 4 of them and they all perform perfectly in the cameras they are in. The computer does not have problems getting data off of the card after its read it intially, but in order for it to recognize that I've inserted an SD card - I have to go into Device Manager and select the SD card under the Drives section. Once it pops up (sometimes it hesitates a few seconds before doing so), the properties window shows up with no prompting errors cited. At this point, the SD card magically appears in the Explorer window like normal. I've gotten used to this practice and have the Device Manager shortcuted to my Desktop. Yes, the LED indicator does light when the SD card is physically inserted into the slot, but the computer seems to be on deaf ears about it. Either way, these are small problems with likely Software... but I figured I'd ask since they bother me occasionally when I need to just get something off the SD card quickly or am trying to quickly print out something. It has gotten better with updates however, but these issues just simply haven't been addressed, and I feel they won't be.

  • Issue In Asset Transfer

    Hi
I have an issue in Asset. I have created an asset in a wrong asset class by mistake. Now I want to transfer the asset value to an asset created in the right asset class. But when I am doing this, the system is transferring the proptionate depreciation calculated to the new asset. Pls suggest
    KM

    Hi
It seems that the depreciation key has been configured to calculate the depreciation from the depreciation start key mainatained in the depreciation area. Hence, when you do the asset transfer, the system would post a pro rata depreciation from the depreciation start date to the date of transfer and transfer the same to the new asset. Howver, you can avoid that by changing the depreciation start date to the date of transfer. In such a case, no pro rata depreciation would not be calculated and transferred to the new asset.

  • Asset Explorer -- Acquisition Value Year-End

    Dear all,
I'm looking on how to fetch a certain value...
If you access transaction AS03 You'll see th master data for a certain asset.
Now... if you click on the "Asset value"-button, you'll be redirected to transaction AW01N, "Asset Explorer".
In the asset explorer (under the "Posted values"-tab) there is a table. This table contains a row "Acquisition value" and a column "Year-End".
My question is, how to get this value (which table.field and/or which Function module)?
It looks like this (png screenshot)

    Dear Kiran,
Thanks for the advice on the BAPI function.
It seems it doesn't contain this value.
    Thank you.
    Dear Gautham,
    Is this ANLCV a structure-table?
I cannot browse this table with the data-browser [SE16].
Can I only browse/fetch data from this table through creating a new function module, or is there an easier way?
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Asset explorer -Wrong value displayed after retirement of an asset.

    Hi All,
We have posted a settlement from AUC to Assetas 30.11.2009 .The amount settled is a negative amount (-100) .The asset value  is  for ex : Rs100 and after settlement the asset value is Rs 90.
Then we had made retirement to that asset  of Rs 10(positive value) using tcode FB01 and TTY 20A.Then the asset value should reflect as Rs 100 again.
I am not sure why the system now displays asset value as Rs 100 +Rs 10(retirement - positivevalue) = Rs 110 as asset value.
However system should do Rs100 +(Rs -10) +Rs10=Rs100 as asset value in asset explorer. However it displays amount as Rs 110.
Please advice where do i correct to get the values displayed correctly in asset explorer.
    Regards

    hi
first implement notes 988238, then please recaculate the values.

  • Asset Explorer

    Hello Gurus
We are implementing Asset module for our company with 32 company codes for different countries. For one country I am finding problem. When we create asset, the asset is created successfully but when we go to AS02 and try to  open Asset values, it gives the message that " Asset Values cannot be displayed due to missing text"
When I go and look in Table T093S, for this company code chart of depreciation, no values are found. Even in reference chart of depreciation no values are found. Whereas in other Chart of depreciation there are values. These are the values like APC, Ord Depreciation etc which are in asset explorer.
Please advise how to sort this out

  • Issue in Asset Master

    Hi
I have an issue in which the Dep start date for Dep area tab for a particular dep area 15 is shown in display mode for asset master. How can i make it modifiable
    Regards
    Sanil Bhandari

    Hello Sanil,
Please check this SAP doc. Keep me posted.
    Period Control Method
    Use
For determining the depreciation start and end date for asset transactions, you can set an appropriate period control in the period control method for the four transaction categories:
    Acquisitions
    Subsequent acquisitions/post-capitalization
    Intracompany transfers
    Retirements
This enables you to set the depreciation start date for all acquisitions within the same year to the beginning of the year, for example. You can also set the depreciation start date for retirements to the first or last day of each period. Using the asset value date of a transaction (acquisition or retirement), the system determines the start date or end date of depreciation calculation using the period control.
    Features
    Standard Period Control
When you set up an asset company code, the system automatically generates period control rules. The most important of these include:
Pro rata at period start date
Depreciation start/end is always at the beginning of the period in which the acquisition or retirement takes place.
Pro rata upto mid-period per period start date
For transactions up to the middle of the period, the depreciation start or end date is dated from the beginning of the period. Transactions after mid-period, however, are dated from the beginning of the next period.
    Pro rata at mid-period
This rule corresponds to the first rule. However it is intended for depreciation calculation based on half periods.
First year convention of a half year
    (See example.)
    Year start date/mid-year/year-end
For transactions on the first day of a fiscal year, the system calculates a whole year's depreciation, for transactions up to the middle of the year, half a year's depreciation and for transactions after mid-year, no depreciation.
At the start of the year
    At mid-year
At the end of the year (start in the following year)
    At mid-quarter
(see the "pro rata at mid-period" rule)
    At the first quarter
    At the following quarter/following month
    At the following half-year
Transactions up to the middle of the fiscal year have a depreciation start date on the middle of the year. Transactions after the middle of the fiscal year have a depreciation start date in the following year.
When you specify the fiscal year variant for the company code, the system automatically assigns calendar dates to the posting periods for these period control rules. However, the fiscal year variant has to be set up with either 12 or 24 posting periods.
You can modify these standard rules yourself, allowing you to flexibly define the relationship between the calendar date and the posting periods.
    First year convention:
    To 06/30
depreciation start date/end in period 0
    From 06/30 to 12/31
depreciation start date/end in period 6
The system interprets period 0 as the start of the fiscal year (January 1), not period 1. Period 6 represents July 1.
    Half-Periods
The number of posting periods in Asset Accounting generally corresponds to the number of posting periods in Financial Accounting. You can, however, double the number of depreciation periods if the basic number of posting periods corresponds to the number of calendar months (12). By setting a control indicator when defining the company code, you can specify the use of half-periods. By specifying the calendar date, on which the second half of a period begins (for example the 16th of the month) you can have the depreciation calculation start and end at the middle of a period. For more information, see Mid-Quarter Convention (USA) .
In order to use this option, you have to set a special indicator in the allocation rules of the period controls.
It is not possible to use half periods when you are using non-calendar fiscal months.
    Variable Period Control
Using an indicator when defining the individual depreciation keys, you can specify that a key does not use the period control of its assigned period control method. Instead it uses period controls you define for the company code and fiscal year.
This may be necessary, for example, when depreciating according to US law, if you only apply the mid-quarter convention to acquisitions in specific company codes or fiscal years.
If you change the period control of assets, in which the depreciation start date was already set, you have to then change their depreciation start date manually.

  • Issue in Asset Mgmt

    Hi
I have an issue in implementing Asset Accounting. We are live on SAP FI and have GL Accounts for all asset fo accumulated depreciation, depreciation expense and cost of asset. Now we want to use Asset accounting  and would classify the asset based on asset classes. How should we transfer the balamces from individual assets to the three accounts for each asset class, without effecting the gross and net block. Also specify how can we transfer the values of indiviual assets in asset master records in Asset Accounting.
    Regards
    RS

    Hi
Also Follow the below steps to complete your legacy data upload for asset accounting.
When the asset is uplaoded from legacy only the asset account gets updated and not the GL.
To update the GL you have to go to T.code-OAMK reset your Asset recon accounts and take the balace in total for each GL and do posting maually via T.code-OASV.
After completion of posting you have to again reset the recon accounts via OAMK.
    Hope this helps
    Good Luck

  • Issue with Asset Retirement without Revenue (ABAVN)

Hi Experts, hope that you are able to help shed some light on an issue with retirement without revenue (Scrapping).
We have an asset capitalised in FY 2007 with two depreciation areas 01 - Book & 15 Tax. There have then been settlements made to the asset from WSB Elements using transaction type 331 & 336. These were through FY 2008 and depreciation was calculated correctly throughout this time.
The issue was then in FY 2009 when there have been negative settlements posted (adjustments) to the asset and then the asset was retired. The retirement was posted but the values aren't what was expected. It was my belief that the posting should be credit APC, debit accumulated depreciation and then posting to a loss account defined in AO86.
Period Control are the same for retirement '01' for both the straight-line method in book depreciation and the declining balance method in the tax depreciation area .
The posting has been pretty much as expected in the book depreciation area - but in the tax depreciation area where the depreciation key is declining balance there is a reported gain from the retirement.
The report for depreciation are 01 - book shows retirement $1m split between $1.1m in PY and -$0.1m in Current Year.
The issue is that in the tax depreciation area the amount posted for retirement is $1.0 but depreciation posted is $1.125 and -$0.5 with a respective Gain for both prior year (PY) and current year... why has this happened ???
    Thanks in advance
    Chris
    Retirement posting:
PK 75 CR APC value                 TType 200
PK 70 DR Acc. Dep'n CY          TType 250
PK 70 DR Amortisation              TType 290

    Thanks Tarun,
I've solved checking the limitation in Customizing. There was a limitation for the Retirement: this was activated only for first Depreciation Area, so for the other ones no retirement will be calculated and net book value was always not equal to zero.
    Regards,
    Jody

  • Spry Menu issues in Internet Explorer

I have created a Spry menu for my website and although the menu appears to look fine in Firefox and Safari, the formatting changes in Internet Explorer(IE).
1.sub menu bar is not dropping down below the main menu bar it is appearing at the top of the screen.

Hi Nadia thanks for your help in trying to fix the spry menus.
I am new to Dreamweaver and therefore would appreciate a bit more help with the issues you identified.
I did replace the doctype. As for removing the menu from a table and putting it into a div, would you be able to identify in the code below how I would do that?  Thanks

  • Issue on asset tax depreciation balances

    Dear Experts,
I have a critical issue to be resolved. Someone please guide me.
I want to change the opening balance, current year transactions
accumulated depreciation of year 2008 (Fiscal year variant V3 -
Apr to March) of group assets in tax depreciation area (15) using tcode
AS82. This is required because during data migration in 2006 the
tax dep values for group asset were not entered accurately. With
this the dep calculated was wrong resulting in wrong net bbok value
further wrong carry forward bal in 2007 Apr and so on. My client
now wants atleast correction of year 2008 values so that the future
calculations are right and done by SAP for tax report. What should I do
    for this?
What impact would be there if I change Asset Transfer date because
when I go to AS82 to change the takeover values of a group asset in 2008
i get an error msg " Closed fiscal year doesnt agree with legacy data
transfer date" Transfer date is 31.07.2006. This is really critical
and I have been posting this from days but no response. Please help
me experts.Any help would be really appreciated.
    Rgds

  • Weird graphics and other issues with internet explorer in all versions.

One of our laptops has an issue with their Internet Explorer. First, whenever the user logs on and starts internet explorer and navigates to any website, the website loads for a bit but then immediately displays a "Page cannot be displayed" error.
Every single time. If we try browsing again/refreshing the page it loads fine. But during regular browsing, we might get that page again.
Another issue that happens is sometimes the graphics logos won't load properly. See screenshot:
    http://i.imgur.com/0usOPpu.jpg
And this happens a lot. If this won't happen, the websites will only load with half its formatting missing.
    Now we have:
-Thoroughly checked computer for viruses. Several full scans have been done with MalwareBytes with no issues found. Microsoft Security Essentials has been installed, full scan done, no viruses/spyware/adware found.
-We have tried upgrading to IE11. Same issue. Downgraded to IE10. Same issue. Downgraded to IE9, same issue yet again. IE was Reset each time.
We checked if it could be a network issue, but none of the other computers connected to the same switch has issue like that.
    Any suggestions/ideas to try?

    Hi,
I suggest you temporary disable antivirus and firewall, then check the result.
You may try the steps from the links below to check the issue:
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956196/en-us
Internet Explorer "Page Cannot be Displayed" error due to Bad Proxy Server Timeout
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2551554
You may also refer to the computer or device manufacturer website and try installing the latest version of chipset, graphics card and video card drivers and check.
    Hope it helps.
