Issue in BSI TUBS Implementation

Hi Experts,
My Client wants to launch a facility in Alabama and therefore we need to set up the Tax Authorities pertaining to Alabama.
These Tax Auth have been introduced in BSI TUB 7.0 and presently our SAP system is at BSI 8.0
I found that the Transport Requests for these tax auth have not been implemented in our SAP system till date.
I need to know if we can deploy these Transport Requests (of BSI 7.0) now when we are presently at BSI TUB 8.0 ?
Will there be an impact ? If yes, what is the feasable alternative ?

Bsi tub 122

Experts,
In BSI tub 122, i see for Millcreek(Township) authority has adopted Local Services Tax from 10$ to 52$ which means taxtype 84(Local services tax) has to be setup in SAP. We are still using taxtype 51(occupational tax) and i have setup taxtype 84 as per tub 122. SAP is not generating taxtype 84 for authority Millcreek PB9X. Has anyone come accross this issue and how did you resolve it?. Appreciate your help.

BSI TUBs + SAP Notes

I was just wondering what it means to add any SAP notes when implementing BSI TUBs?

Bullein updating has 2 parts. One is that a functional consultant will go and download updates into BSI software called Taxfactory(8.0 is the latest version).
After this, the basis team must be informed that you made these changes in taxfactory and you would like them to apply corresponding patches (OSS notes) in SAP.
For every TUB #, there is a corresponding OSS patch number which means updates have to be done in taxfactory as well as SAP.

OSS notes for BSI TUBS replace W4 setting in T5UTZ for CO with a 3

Every time we import and apply the OSS notes associated with BSI TUBs that include table T5UTZ, it replaces the value indicating W4 availability with a value of '3' which does not allow a records specialist to enter Infotype 0210 for Colorado. We have no information that this is no longer required. Can anyone point me to why this setting is indicating that the CO W4 information will default to the Federal record every time the table is delivered in an OSS note.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

select the lines which you want to delete then click on Dlete button. and click on insert to insert the lines.
if you use them then the comments will be generated automatically some thing like this
for deletion..

insert and delete buttons are next to Modification over view button.

BSI releases bulletins and SAP releases TUBS (tax update bulletins)
SAP dont calculate taxes by themselves so BSI is the software used by SAP for calculating their taxes.
Deductions are done thru payroll but taxes are calculated thru BSI.
BSI is designed as per the IRS regulation. So to apply all those regulations BSI releases the changes made for Federal taxes or States taxes by IRS
They update tax tables every year. How are Federal / State taxes are going to calculate?? BSI gives all these details.
Then SAP keeps track on the bulletins and updates the system and releases TUBS which are updated in the system directly or else if it needs manual entries are made according to the directions of SAP.
Generally Basis team updates the Bulletins but you need to review and test those in system.

Issues with Wiki formatting implementation

As we know, since several versions now, Skype converts the following pre- and postfixes to formatted text:
*test*: Bold text
_test_: Italic text
~test~: Strikethrough text
However, there are some issues with the way this is implemented, which I try to lay out here.
When editing a message containing formatted text, the formatting is lost, and plain text copied into the chat input textbox where you will edit the message. This can be really annoying if you want to fix just a typo in a formatted message.
E.g.: "*This is* a test _to demonstrate_ a ~Skype~ bug" converts into simply "This is a test to demonstrate a Skype bug" into the input textbox.
Formatting has to be added back manually, and can be a time-eating task if you wrote longer messages.
Copying formatted messages also loses the text formatting, especially when pasting them into plain text files. Skype should restore the post- and prefixes.
E.g., copying this: "This is a test to demonstrate a Skype bug" should paste into a plain text file as "*This is* a test _to demonstrate_ a ~Skype~ bug", but currently it pastes just as "This is a test to demonstrate a Skype bug"
It should be possible to turn formatting off, like smileys. Already formatted messages are then parsed back to include post- and prefixes for display. Currently, there are solutions to disable this for messages sent by the local user, but it is not remembered between sessions, and does not affect remote users (you can try it by entering "/setupkey *Lib/Conversation/EnableWiki 0" in the chat).
Such an option should obviously be placed in the "IM & SMS > IM Appearance" category.
It would be great if you can sort out these usability issues, as it makes Skype somewhat cocky regarding the handling of the wiki formatting.

The first two issues (which are directly related) are already known to be issues with their current implementation of formatting. It's hard to say when those issues will be addressed. In regards to your 3rd point, that has already been addressed so that you can make that change via that command and have is stick. Since they actually addressed the command issue and did not make it a GUI option they apparently don't want a GUI option at this time.
I issued that command, exited Skype, relaunched Skype then tested out bold formatting. Neither I nor my other contact (my test account) received any formatting unless I reversed that setting. Make sure you are running the latest version of Skype (7.3).

Performance Issue with BSIS(open accounting items)

Hey All,
      I am having serious performance issue with a accrual report which gets all open GL items, and need some tips for optimization.
The main issue is that I am accesing large tables like BSIS, BSEG, BSAS etc without proper indexes and that I am dealing with huge amounts of data.
The select itself take a long time and after that as I have so much data overall execution is slow too.
The select which concerns me the most is:

We already have a secondary index on bukrs hkont and budat, and i have checked in ST05 that it does use it. But inspite that it takes more than 15 hrs to complete(maybe because of huge data).

You said that R_HKONT contains several ranges of account numbers. If these ranges cover a significant
portion of the overall existing account numbers, then there is no really quick access possible via the
BSIS primary key.
Unfortunately R_HKONT contains all account numbers.
As Rob said, your index on HKONT and BUDAT does not help much, since you are selecting "<=" on
BUDAT. No chance of narrowing down that range?
Will look into this.
What about GSBER? Does the value in c_ZRL1 provide a rather small subset of the overall values? Then
an index on BUKRS and GSBER might be helpful.
ZRL1 does provide a decent selection . But I dont know if one more index is a good idea on overall
system performance.
I assume that the four document types are not very selective, so it probably does not pay off to
investigate selecting on BKPF (there is an index involving BLART) and joining BSIS for the additional
information. You still might want to look into it though.
I did try to investigate this option too. Based on other threads related to BSIS and Robs Suggestion in
those threads I tried this:

The improves the select on BSIS a lot, but the first select on BKPF kills it. Not sure if this would help
improve performance.
Also I was wondering whether it helps on refreshing the tabe statistics through DB20. The last refresh
was done 7 months back. How frequently should we do this? Will it help?

Perfomance issue with BSIS Table

Hi all,
I am encountering a performance issue when seelcting from BSIS table.
The requirement is I have Internal Orders extracted from a Master table, based on these internal orders and company code I need to go to BSIS table and do an extraction for other fields. When I am doing a Select on BSIS with the above conditions, the performance is very bad. Is there any other better ways to handle this.

hi gunjan,
to improve the performance on BSIS fetch,
then first of check your fields in where condition..
then go to se11. and display BSIS table.
In application tool bar there is push button named 'Indexes'
click on it.
and see if there is any index already present there which contains all your fields in where condition clause.
if not then ask your senior if you can create a seconadry index on it.
if he allows you to create then go for it.

Spacing Issues and You Tube embed not playing in IE8, OK in Chrome or Safari

There are spacing issues (makes the website pages look like they are puzzle pieces) on all the webpages in
IE8, but in Safari and Chrome the website works fine. Same for the You Tube embed.
My wife did the layout of the website in Ilustrator and then transfered over the design to Dreamweaver CS3
(she's a graphic designer - I stopped asking questions long ago). Since she uses a Mac, it looked fine to her
in Safari. She took it to her work computer (PC) and tried to see if there were any issues detected when viewing in CS5
and she said it was fine.

Issue with SAP Note Implementation 977220

Hi ALL,
             I am trying to implement the SAP Note: 977220 for the Report RFIDPL06 (FI Localization for the Country Poland).
While trying to implement the SAP Note: 977220, the system (version 4.6 C) successfully implements (Green Traffic Light) the following SAP Notes: 975358, 990307 & 1016797 as a pre-requisite. However after that when the system is trying to implement the SAP Note: 977220; it's showing the yellow traffic light because it can't find the followings:
1. Context Block (Not Found)
    IF documents-egrkz = '9' OR documents-egrkz = '2'
      IF documents-ktosl = 'ESE'.
        doc_sum-tax = '0'.
        APPEND doc_sum. "943278
      ENDIF.
2. Delete Block (Not Found)
      COLLECT doc_sum. "943278
What can I do to resolve the issue ?? Any help will be highly appreciated!!

BSI Tubs for 80

Hi Experts,
I am judith-Merlin and newly joined in Payroll Team replacing a guy and taking care of all US payroll activity.
Now BSI upgradation is going on.In SAP note it is given that TUB 041 to 061 is important for BSI 8.0.
Can you Please let me know is it must to update all the tubs for 7.0 before carring out the 8.0 tubs upgradation

No, it's not necessary. When upgrade to BSI 80, BSI would provide you with a data file with certain BSI 80 tub level which has the equivalent of whatever BSI 70 tub level. Therefore, tjhere's no reason to apply your current BSI 70 to latest tub prior to going to 80.

Audio Quality issues in You Tube

Hi Guys
I am really struggling to work out how to submit my music video to 'You Tube' without severe degradation of audio quality.
V. Happy with the vid. side - H.264 output with optimised parameters on all fronts (debatable I know - but I guess I'm aware of those parameters)
Trouble is the whole point is the music - which just loses it.
The export from origin added to project in Premiere is 24bit, 96khz sample rate - mastered to optimised preference and sounds pretty cool in direct
comparison to random productions from other sources.
(ie: your favourite band music through stereo system (decent speaker output) via CD Rom)
Have attempted all available audio parameters within CS6 to no avail.
Whatever I do - the audio sounds the same ie: diminished
I know 'You Tube' compresses again but how can I avoid this? - Would love to hear from anyone who has had, is having the same issues!!
Suspect that this requires some kind of server side 'pay for' service, I just can't identify where.(or that my master is crap)

You won't even get CD quality sound out of YouTube, let alone anything approaching 24/96 quality. I think you're only avenue for delivering that is DVD-Audio, which never really took off.

BSI TUBS update - new tx

A new tax had to be included for state of Florida. We did BSI update. How can I test that new tax has got implemented?

After updating the BSI , Baisis Guy need to apply the tax files in to your Golden client and then from gloden client you need to adjust your 5 tax tables in SAP
V_T5uTA, T5uti etc.
After this you have to run the payroll for FLorida n check the tax for the employee.
